After a series of troubling events, Mochizuki Touya takes some much-needed downtime. The fate of two worlds still hangs in the balance, he needs to secure more allies in the Reverse World, and Yula and the wicked god continue their dark machinations in the background, but that doesn't mean that our hero can't take a little time for romance and relaxation. But unbeknownst to our crew, another god may have set his eyes on the mortal realm... Lovers waltz and blades clash, unveiling a story of swords, sorcery, and fun in the sun!
Touya's story continues with a bit of slice-of-life, but more importantly, with his attempts to increase his influence in the Mirror World and to learn more about the golems of said world. At the same time, the regular phrase (the few remaining) try to reconcile with the now found queen, while the mutants become more and more of a threat.
Like previous volumes it is a very light hearted story in that the MC easily resolves the threats around him. The characters are simple and straightforward, and due to the number seem to blend into one another. It is still fairly entertaining to me, and probably most who got to volume 15. There were a few cringe moments, some of which due to oddly although minor sexist thoughts from Touya (likely the result of thoughtless use of various LN tropes) or behaviour by those around him which is just not my kind of humour.
Still, a a good read and what I expected from the series based on previous volumes.
I think my favorite part of this novel was the side story at the start. Kohaku is, my favorite character and she doesn't get much screen time. So reading a small side story with Kohaku as the lead character was nice.
I can't ever get enough of this series. When I run out of Light Novel volumes to read, I read the web novel. I can't wait for more novels!
Definitely gettin even better than I expected. Seems like poor Toyua boy is gather quite a following in both worlds. Hope he ends up in a better spot than other other OP MC.
I really enjoyed this book and the depth of the detail to the different characters you put into it. Then book has made me laugh its made me cry I've sat on the edge of my seat at the plot twists
I loved this volume. I'm happy to read how much good Touya is doing in the reverse world. I'm happy to see how his family is doing and how other gods keep descending to aid him. I can't wait to see when they will find a way to destroy the wicked god.
As I have said before this is a awesome saga. Defiantly worth reading and along with the author I wish for a second season of the anime. I am awaiting the next book.
In my previous volume review, I was complaining about the lack of Touya's fiancee appearances and development due to the ongoing Reverse World arc. Luckily, the author addresses that with this volume with a much more laidback pace this time, cramming in as much of his fiancees as he can and even bringing back some nostalgic characters.
While the pace has slowed down a bit, the volume still steadily advances the Reverse World arc with Touya building up his influence there as well. It's rather funny at how he still uses the same trick two volumes consecutively, but subtlety definitely isn't the selling point of Smartphone anyways.
This volume also includes three significant interludes that showcase some of the more regular side-characters, which I wish the future volumes can include as much as possible.
Still can't believe this series is already 15 volumes long and still remains enjoyable as ever, even if the cast is pretty much the population of a small town by now. Thankfully, Patora-sensei has quite the knack of making sure the characters are recognisable by inference.
Touya continues to gather allies for the upcoming battle against the mutant Phrase. The volume contains more slice-of-life than action, but I enjoyed it regardless.
Another god joins Touya's family, the God of Combat. He calls himself Takeru and claims to be Touya's uncle. It all works out since he fights without weapons and trains Elze in her skills. We now have seven gods and goddesses in the pantheon.
Touya tries to set up an information network in the Reverse World and comes across the leader of Inns and Brothels. Her name is Silhouette Lily, also known as Kageyuri. So his fiances get jealous since she is a prostitute and tries to proposition him.
The last few nations of Touya's Regular World join the League of Nations, including Eashen. We meet the Mikado, a 2000-year-old spirit.
I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
