Like some of these, not a big fan of knit blanets.

This is a well-presented pattern book, large format with good photographs, spiral-bound, and clear (and generally easy) instructions. Most of the patterns utilize larger needles and hooks, worsted and bulky yarns, making for fast work-ups. Beginners would enjoy working their way through a pattern or two, but I'm a quite experienced knitter and crocheter and found the chunky simplicity to be boring, plus they mainly utilize a style of afghan that I dislike - construction in one piece. I much prefer modular afghans. Even though I dislike sewing them together it's better than lugging a big, heavy piece of work over my lap and back again endlessly - I haven't the patience for that. But if you don't mind that sort of thing and want to give it a go, there are several quickly worked up patterns here that you might enjoy, plus a few modular patterns as well. A decent pattern book, but nothing spectacular or especially memorable about the patterns.

This is a beautiful book of afghans in many styles and difficulty levels. It is a pleasure to look at before bed, just because the pictures are so lovely, and also gives practical advice I can transfer to other projects, like how many stitches to cast on for a baby afghan (100 to 127) and how long to make it. This is a book I would like to own.
