Maybe crime novel just aren't my thing. There were certain times where insight in characters started to enhance the plot but these didn't seem to go very far and even the moments of excitement seemed to fizzle out, including the dramatic ending, but maybe this was the point reflecting the mundane moments of actual police work? Either way it was not a book I devoured and looked forward to the next chapter, but like I say maybe it's just not my genre.
