Crowe speaks to tens of thousands each year, instilling leadership skills and motivating his audience to imagine what you would do for the glory of God, if you knew with certainty that you absolutely could not fail.
Brent Crowe in his new book “Sacred Intent” published by Worthy Publishing Group helps us Maximize the Moments of Your Life.
From the back cover: If life were a week…
…you would make every moment count. You’d be more motivated, more focused, more passionate about all you said and did. You’d lead with greater influence. You’d develop deeper relationships. You’d take control of your time. You’d follow your calling. You’d turn the world upside down for Christ.
“Every person with a sacred intent approach to life wants to accomplish more, not less, with the amount of time and energy granted,” writes author and speaker Brent Crowe.
Your life matters! Crowe shows you how to bring your life vibrantly alive with purpose and make this world better because you live in it.
Dr. Graham Lacey made a statement before a dignified group of people, He said, “Life is a week. How will you make all seven days count?” This question affected Dr. Crowe and he set out to write his book trying to come out with an answer. If life were just a week then our energy would be vastly limited and we would need to be good stewards. Seven is the number of completeness and a life rich with sacred intent will be complete according to Dr. Crowe. So each day of the week is broken down with a different emphasis: Monday: Influence, Tuesday: Time, Wednesday: Calling, Thursday: Engagement, Friday: Relationships, Saturday: Motivation and Sunday: Dream. With “Sacred Intent” we need to begin because the clock is ticking and the calendar pages are turning and our moment is now!. I think that everyone should have a copy of this book and it would make a terrific gift for friends and family so that they could be motivated as well.

With many accolades presented at the beginning of the book, Crowe sets a high standard of expectations for the reader. He outlines his book with a simple format: Monday through Sunday. The idea? In seven days (a lot of reading in a short period), the reader can address seven major questions and reflect on their own spiritual growth. Influence, Time, Calling, Engagement, and Relationships all play critical keys in this spiritual journey the reader takes on. In fact, this isn't just a one-time approach, but a daily mindfulness. Each day has its own theme. Keep this in mind - this path is not for the light-hearted or whimsical, but rather for the believer willing to take the book seriously and move forward in maximizing their life.
This book is more a devotional than anything else. Written with the common believer in mind, this book encourages and educates to living mindfully in the Messiah and making the most of each day. Definitely a choice for those needing a bit more purpose and intention, this book is a great step along that marathon path. Chock full of Scriptural basis for each assertion Crowe makes, readers will be hard-pressed not to change their lives over the sake, and sacred intent, of this book.

Sacred Intent offers a devotional approach to personal growth, leadership, and influence, aiming to help readers live each day with purpose. While the book provides some valuable insights, it often feels more like a survey of various topics rather than an in-depth exploration. For new believers seeking foundational guidance, it may serve as a gentle introduction. However, for those looking for more substantial theological depth or practical application, other resources delve deeper into these subjects.
This is a very good and highly motivational book that encourages us as believers to pursue our dreams with clear define direction to lay our foundation in working towards bring our dream to fruition
Highly recommended for reading (and studies) as the author rightly said/written “.. because time is created, it is sacred and should be approached with a sacred intent”
This book is not for the stars of the Christian world. Rather, it is for everyday Christians who are living seemingly normal, mundane lives yet want to make a difference. Crowe provides encouragement in figuring out how that influence can be generated.
Don't expect this to be a productivity book. It is devotional in nature and is a good source for us to look at our lives and how we live them out with sacred intent.
Crowe likens all of life to seven days. Each day relates to a theme he covers. Monday is the start of a new work week and the theme is influence. He reminds us that God designed us for influence and leadership. We learn lessons from Moses/Joshua and Paul/Timothy. Tuesday is a good day to realize time is limited and we are reminded what happens to our time when we are not intentional with it. Crowe wants us to live each day on purpose with purpose.
Wednesday is about our calling – what gives us purpose. He looks at four aspects: church, family, citizen, and contributor. He emphasizes living in connection with Jesus and having our identity in Him. Thursday is about engaging the world and how God wants our life to be saturated with salt and light. Friday covers relationships, both friendships and collaborative efforts. Saturday is a good day for thinking about motivation. Motivation produces focus resulting in obedience to God's call on our lives. “Sunday is the perfect day for believing the impossible.” (205) It's the day to dream of ideas that would turn the world upside down.
This would be a great book to read on a week vacation or retreat. Crowe helps us think through many issues in our life and encourages us to live each moment with sacred purpose. He gives great examples from his own life and the lives of others. He offers insight from Scripture too. He includes practical advice, like how to choose a mentor. He has included an Appendix with positive statements about each day's topics and a prayer as a review and aid for transforming our lives.
My favorite section was the one on time. “How we use our time is a reflection of our understanding, or misunderstanding, of God's purpose for our lives.” (62) Ouch.
I recommend this book to those who have the desire to see their lives make a difference but just don't know how to go about it. You'll get some great encouragement as you think through your life and decide to live with sacred intention.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
Sacred Intent is a devotional approach—in contrast to a practical approach—to personal growth, leadership and influence based on Scripture. In Sacred Intent, author Brent Crowe challenges you to think, dream and lead.
Crowe asks readers to think about the idea of maximizing each moment of your life. I often struggle with this concept and was grateful to receive an advance copy of this book just at the right time. Sacred Intent is filled with direction, instruction and thought-provoking concepts combined in short stories and practical tips guiding readers on how to better use their time. The best thing about all of this? He takes his principles right from the Bible, the ultimate answer book.
Crowe structures his concept around the days of the week, while helping readers learn to make decisions based on their character. He shows readers how to own their biblical values and how to make a commitment to service in His name. Topics include a focused dream, time management, and inner calling.
Sacred Intent provides practical direction to both new and experienced leaders on how to be passionate in changing the world for Christ and working with others in the pursuit of their God given dreams. I loved how Brent Crowe uses stories from the Bible and relates them to the reader so that they can apply the meaning to their own lives. He helps readers realize that they need to develop their spiritual gifts to their biggest potential so that they can have a maximum influence for God's glory. He reminds us that God doesn't concern himself with why others think you shouldn't lead, that we are stewards of God's creation, and His name should echo through our influence around the world.
This is a "must read" for everyone I know - leaders and non-leaders alike! I believe this great book would really help its readers come to know more about what it means to truly be a disciple of Christ! I know I'll be coming back to this book in the future to help remind me in my journey with Jesus!
I was provided with a review copy of this book as a First Look Blogger for Worthy Publishing without cost in exchange for this, my honest review and unbiased opinion.
Sacred Intent by Dr. Brent Crowe departs from the classic formulary outline of books you find in the Christian Living section in your neighborhood Christian Bookstore. In your Sunday sermon the pastor or speaker attacks his/her subject with three steps: #1) He tells you what he's going to tell you. #2) He tells you. And #3) He tells you what he just told you. The hope is that one or more of those steps resonates with the listener.
Sacred Intent is a fresh and interesting format. Crowe urges us to identify and pursue Christ with focused intent. He utilizes stories and personal experiences to explain his scripturally based points, with the overall goal of maximizing the moments in our lives, and to live out those moments to the fullest.
Crowe concludes that his entire book can be summarized by three "sevens": 7 Days, 7 passports, and 7 questions.
The book is laid out as one week of time, hence the seven days. US passports are good for ten years. Thus the days of our lives are approximately contained within the chronology of those 7 passports (about 70 years). And the seven questions... Well, you just need to pick up the book for yourself.
I found the book to be well written, and geared to us non-theologians. A relatively easy read, but not a quick read. I found myself thinking and going back to read things a second or third time (which is a good thing). I can indeed recommend this book to every Christ follower who seeks to bring more intentionality to their lives.
I received an advance reader's copy (ARC) of this book from the publisher (Worthy) in exchange for a fair and timely review. There are no other expectations from the publisher, the author, or myself.
Every moment counts. How would we live our life if we knew we only had a week to live? As Christians we need to make each moment mean something. The author, writing from a Biblical standpoint, talks about how we can focus on the things that count and make our lives matter in our Christian walk.
Pros:
Loved the concept that the author based the book on. He mixed stories with Biblical passages to bring out points. The book was well laid out and the writing style was easy to read. Several key points spoke to me and the book as a whole was inspiring.
Cons:
Based on the cover, I probably wouldn't have picked the book up. While the writing was easy to digest, there were some sections that were a little dry and I lost my focus.
Overall, it was a good book that I wouldn't have a problem recommending to friends.
I received this book free of charge from Worthy Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
It was a great read.I received it as a gift from the author and Worthy Publishing through Goodreads giveaways.I am so happy that I won. I am a new to Christianity and expected advice like 1 do this 2 do this, but it wasn't like that at all. It is a more rounded out book to instill in us a greater way to take our journey with Christ. He gives you real life examples to help your life. I liked the book very much. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for the true meaning of being a Christian.
