Electronic & Microprocessor Controlled Security Projects

Rate this book
This book if for the experienced kit builder, experimenter, student, or professional who wants to build and truly understand the design of a home, office, or business security system. The systems presented can be built for a fraction of the cost of a commercially installed system. Six completely original designs are presented along with several variations for a total of ten security projects. All have been built, bench-tested, and proven in actual use. They can be constructed and installed separately. All can be built directly from this book with parts available from standard suppliers. The printed circuit foil patterns can be used directly from the book. Each project description includes a schematic drawing and a parts list. Some feature a component placement drawing, complete timing diagrams, and charts to aid in troubleshooting before and after installation is complete. Printed circuit board patterns are provided for each of the computer-controlled projects as well as four of the other five projects. The assembly language program listing in Appendix B is clearly annotated in plain English to allow you to follow each step and detail of the program with ease. The book concludes with several appendices which cover the suppression of EMI, a program for the microprocessor projects, and suppliers of electronics components and security-related items. There is also a carefully selected bibliography of practical tips on security systems and closely allied areas.
