This was such a great volume again!
The Flash faces off against the Rogues led by Cold and they have big plans for the city and well its gonna be a big battle and its their last heist and Flash takes on Captain Cold, Heatwave, Golden Glider and others in an epic fight and it takes them to the extreme and when Cold gets a new gun it maybe tough for Flash to handle and its a great volume and I loved the whole story especially what Cold does next! And a two parter where Barry must team up with Captain Boomerang and the solve the mystery of whatever happened to Dan West! And its like really well done and the fallout of that between Barry and Wallace is good!
And finally Iris getting some action by going undercover in Blackhole and what happens there and some big revelations with both returning and its awesome and I loved it!
Its an excellent volume from start to finish and I love the way Josh handles all this villains and gives them their own motives while also building towards something big and paying on those promises! And the art is okay for the most part here though.

The Rogues have been in hiding and the Flash tries to flush them out. There's some great stuff here about whether the Rogues actually protect the city or not. Next Barry and Wally go searching for Wally's dad. This brings them to Belle Rive where we get a confrontation with Amanda Waller and then Captain Boomerang. We also get a little lead in to "The Button". Finally Black Hole is back for an issue and a reveal.
The Good: Williamson seems to have a plan for multiple arcs and that's a great thing. I like how we're still building off of volume 1. The art is very good and we get lots of plot twists in the book.
The Bad: Wally didn't annoy me at all unlike the last volume which seemed to be all about Wally.
The Ugly: When is Barry going to tell Iris he's the Flash? It's starting to get annoying. Given that she's a reporter, she probably already knows and is just waiting on Barry to say something.

Flash’s rogues gallery, The Rogues, have always been a little different from Batman’s in that they frequently work together as a gang and also have a weird honor among thieves thing going on. Here, Williamson and WAY COOL artist Carmine Di Giandomenico team up to explore each in depth as well as their relationship to each other and to Barry Allen and all while they are carrying out a very nifty heist.
Of course The Flash has some more on that.
Leonard Snart, Captain Cold, is one of my favorite characters in all of Comicdom and Williamson's portrayal of him is spot on.
Williamson is best when he’s tying it all together as pretty as Jeff Lebowski’s rug.

Flash continues it "solid" and "fun" run. I'll say right now this run is better than New52 for sure but it's not hitting the highs it did for volume 1.
Volume 1 to me remains the strongest. Art wise, story wise, villain (Godspeed <3) and more made it all worth really well. Volume 2 was cheesier but felt well done for Kid Flash. This volume has some great moments otherwise mixed with okayness.
So Barry decides to take on the rogues once more. You think they will outsmart the Flash! Well they almost do but this is the Flash people so come on. Also we have more about kid Flash. He wants to learn about his father. If you read Suicide Squad you know his father joined the team and like the name of the team did die protecting kids. It was actually a solid ending to a otherwise meh character but it leads into Wally figuring out who he is.
Good: The stuff with the rogues was fun if not a bit predictable. The stuff with kid flash was solid and I like the path the boy is going on. He's trying to figure out who he is and what he is and in doing so goes through ups and downs. I also like the direction for Barry and Iris for sure.

Oh, here's an idea, let's make The Flash's Rogues just like Batman's rogues, because everyone likes Batman, right? All our superheroes have to be just like Batman, right? All our villains have to be just like Batman's villains, right? No, no they don't. What's the point of reading any book other than Batman if every character is going to be diet versions of Batman? It's a disservice to the fans and a disservice to the characters. Unfortunately, for now, The Rogues have been reloaded in "Rebirth" to be diet versions of Batman's rogues gallery.

[Read as single issues]
After the Reverse Flash, the Rogues are the Flash's most iconic foes, so I'm surprised it took this long to get them back into the Rebirth series. This volume puts the spotlight on each member individually as their newest plot to thwart the Flash and finally get away with the steal of the century comes to fruition. It's fun to see these characters working together again, and it's easy to see why they're able to defeat the Flash through just gadgets and gizmos. I also like that this story doesn't contradict any of the New 52 origins or events that shaped the Rogues. Carmine Di Giandomenico pencils almost all of this story, and his visuals are becoming synonymous with excellent Flash storylines.
Also included here is a two part story that has Kid Flash and the Flash travel across the country in search of Wally's long-lost father, Daniel West, who met a sticky end as part of the Suicide Squad. Enter Amanda Waller and Captain Boomerang. This story goes a little off-the-point near the end, but has a very good ending that uproots Barry and Wally's relationship as well as leading directly into The Button crossover. But before that, there's a one-shot that furthers the Black Hole plotline as well as bringing Iris West into focus after playing a mostly passive role in the series so far.
The second volume of the Flash was a bit of a letdown, but this volume has a solid Rogues story, and some shorter supplementary arcs that aren't to be missed either.

the rogues are here and are up to no good... not really a surprise.
I love the art by Carmine di Giandomenico, I always love his work on flash and the story is pretty good and its something id love to see in the flash tv show, a rogues team up since we've never seen it before in the show.

This was a fun read but I feel like the stakes arent big. It just feels too safe with the story. Things are resolved a little too easily. It also does feel a little YAish. I'll probably give it another volume.

I still think this book looks fugly.
World: I can't stand the art. Especially the facial expressions, they are just fugly. The world building is still a mystery to me cause it's kinda patchy and still without a larger picture.
Story: I didn't really enjoy it compared to books lime Green Arrow and Super Sons where the emotions and character development feels natural and genuine this book feels forced and fake. The stuff with the Rogues was a bit disappointing and a bit broken. Why could not have Williamson done individual stories and then built towards them working together, instead we get a blob of a story that barely makes sense and is paced jankily. The Wally Daniel story was also rather ho hum making the reveal kinda pointless and didn't ring emotionally and just like that we are off to another story and we have no time to savour the reveal. It was such a wasted throwaway. This Iris I don't like at all. If we compare her with what Jurgens and Tomasi is doing with Lois this is just...zzz.
Characters: I don't like them. It feels off. The development is forced and surface level and just like the speedster that they are Barry and Wally feel choppy. Iris I've talked about above. The Rogues deserved much more.
I am not a fan of the book. I am not a fan of the art and especially the writing. Say what you will about Manapul he made us care and I miss Patty so much.
Onward to the next book!

This was an ok book. I like the rogues in the book. Like the drawings by Carmine. But sometimes there were stuff that I don’t blame the author for, it’s just it doesn’t make sense. Example was that Why did Kid Flash get mad at Flash for revealing his identity as Barry Allen. Be thankful maybe? And I liked the part where you find out that Meena is alive and she is working for black hole. Overall great book

Good solid storytelling. This volume of the Flash series was truly well written by Joshua Williamson. I really enjoyed his take on the Rogues. He really has a grasp on what makes this team of villains unique and different from the many DC Comics villains. What makes the Rogues fascinating is their unspoken code to only steal but not kill. Williamson also highlights the times the Rogues have aided the Flash in the past. Many in Central City see the Rogues as heroes and not villains. The Flash seems conflicted about whether on not to believe in the redemption of the Rogues or not. This is captured best in the battles between Captain Cold (Leonard Snart) & the Flash. Loved the dialogue from Snart. The Flash and Captain Cold are just polar opposites. Captain Cold does what he does for the thrills and so it is very presumptuous for him to assume the Flash is a hero just for his own pleasure. The later have of the book sees Flash & Kid Flash (Wally) on the search for Wally's father, the new Reverse Flash. They actually have to break into Bell Reeve prison, home of the government sanctioned off the record Suicide Squad, to get answers for the whereabouts of the Reverse Flash. Eventually the speedy duo find themselves in the services of the longtime Flash villain Captain Boomerang who is on a mission for the Suicide Squad. In short this book was good solid comic book goodness. I am excited to see where this series is going.

I read this several years ago and said its not a great introduction to The Rogues as a concept. I mostly stand by that. Flash Vol. 2: Rogues Revolution by Buccellato is a better first Rogues story, but this is a solid introduction to one Rogue in particular, Captain Cold. Williamson does a great job expositing Cold's backstory through the Rogues' victims and by showing Leonard's corrosive influence on his sister. Williamson clearly has plans for the character and I'm looking forward to seeing what that is.
Arguably though, the best part of this book isn't the title event with The Rogues, but Kid Flash's journey to find out what happened to his biological father. Williamson makes great use of continuity, and even if you already know the awful discovery Kid is going to find, Williamson makes the journey interesting as Barry and Wally investigate his disappearance in the prison system. It gives Wally some great Pathos and leads to a significant confrontation between him and his mentor, who he now realizes has *also* been lying to his loved ones. I don't think I can go higher than 3 stars, given the flaws in The Rogues story, but this is definitely not a book you should miss out on. Flash fans should check this one out!

I'm a bit dissapointed. The volume seems to build up to some great Rogues vs Flash fight but it ends up in nothing. It started great but the great plan was really stupid. Meh.
The story continues with Barry and Kid Flash searching for Wally's dad and they end up meeting with Cpt. Boomerang for info. Most of it was pointless,those arms dealers really thought liberating Flash,a JL member,a guy able to beat some intergalactic villain's ass could be beaten by some stupid ass gun? All of that is completely skippable,after that we get to the point,bla,bla,some spoilers and then well,Barry finally tells him he's Flash,obviously he gets mad,we'll see.
I'm kinda bored here,should I keep on reading? I don't see much change with the reviews after this point nor a change of author. Hmmm.

Man, this was a great volume! As long as they keep Kid Flash's involvement to a minimum I can stand this him. Well. This was a doozy of a story. In, I guess it's the first five issues the storyline takes us back to some old favourite characters. The original line-up of the Rogues Gallery is back and they have an amazing plan to mess The Flash up, and it works. Then Flash has to get back at them all. I loved the return of these characters all together again. The last two issues take us back into the political intrigue with a visit to Belle Reeve and a cameo by Amanda Waller. The Flash and the Kid run off to find Boomerang, have a little action with him. Then it's off to STAR Labs and The Black Hole, finishing with a shocking cliffhanger. Can't wait for the next.

Collects The Flash issues #14-20
The art is mostly bad, and the story is just good enough to keep me coming back for more. But it is sad, because this book could be a lot better. The artist changes on Issue #18, and it is a change for the better.
This collection features the return of the Rogues, and more stories involving the organization, Black Hole.

And finally...after a long wait...The New 52 version of Wally West finds out the Flash's secret identity.
The art is mostly bad, and the story is just good enough to keep me coming back for more. But it is sad, because this book could be a lot better. The artist changes on Issue #18, and it is a change for the better.

Thank goodness! The rogues have finally been rescued from five years of bad treatment at the hands of the Nu52! These are the classic rogues in a classic caper that nonetheless is trying to advance their storylines (and really does a great job of doing so by the end of the volume).
The second major story, on father figures, is also quite nice, particularly for the different father figures moving through nuWally's life.

Just solid fun!
I like the Rogues a lot and they are made to be suitably formidable to The Flash despite him being overpowered as hell!
After the Rogues story are 3-4 more issues of a story I had less interest in but they were still solid fun!

Despite the title the Rogues are only the antagonists for about half the volume. After that the series once again descends into the morass that is the revolving door of ethnic clone speedsters.

I received a free copy of The Flash Volume 3: Rogues Reloaded from DC Comics in exchange for my honest opinion.
With this being the third volume of this series, I would have expected the story to be progressing as we start to understand why each character acts as they do. Rogues Reloaded does this, but not to the level that I would have expected. The main person who did seem to grow was Wally, but his character growth did not make me like him let alone understand why he acts like he does.
The actual storyline is supposed to follow The Flash as he tries to figure out what the Rogues are up to as they have been AWOL for too long. Barry jumps to conclusions and it sets into motion the events of this volume. Whilst most people will know about the Rogues, as someone who has no history with them, I found it disappointing that their history with the Flash was briefly glossed over to ‘they do bad stuff, Barry puts them into Iron Heights, they escape and do it again’ (not in those exact words though). I know that if I wanted to find out more about the Rogues, then there will be other storylines that would be better suited, but I feel like I should not have to go to another comic book to find out what has happened in the past; but at the same time I do appreciate that you cannot keep going over the entire history every single time they are brought in for a new reader like me.
The art style was better than the last issue, but still not to my liking. Maybe I am just fussy but I know the art style that I like but the art style did not seem to suit either the Rogues or the Flash. Since I do not have anything from the Flash for artwork that I know that I like, I cannot tell what it is that I am not enjoying but I hope that I either come to enjoy this style, or they slightly change to to better suit the characters.
The reason why this is a three star read and not a four is that I did not care about any of the characters. Whilst the story was enjoyable, I was not rooting for either the Flash or the Rouges to come out on top.

I have been a fan of the Flash for a long time now and I was excited to get my hands on this set In Rogues Reloaded , the rogues are part time allies or enemies which ever time of day it is. This time they are in the need of help from the Flash when they steal from the wrong people . He must help them before its too late .
The author really goes in depth on the Barry and Iris story line . We get to see more of them and their interactions . Along with the story of Wally and Barry and Wally's father . The stories are well written and I love the interaction with the character. You get more of an feeling for Barry and the gang . There are so many great characters to mention in this volume . We have an appearance of captain boomerang from the suicide squad helping out Wally . They are all well written and developed .
The art work is rich and full of colour and beautifully done . The author does the rebirth justice . As he takes us on a roller coaster ride . This is a must add to anyone who loves the D.C universe and love the Flash . I am glad I got to read this one its is a definite add to my D.C collection . So if you want a good fun read for this long weekend check it out

The third volume of The Flash Rebirth edition is a fun read that is enjoyable, but does lack significant depth.
To be honest the stories in this volume are not bad, but there isn't anything that really stands out. First, we have the rouges with their ultimate plan, which is.... to split up? Hm. Flash beats them when they meet up again.
Next story is about tracking down boomerang in Australia, which was... fine. Some interesting character building with Wally in this one. The dynamic between Wally and Barry is something that is growing slowly but steadily and Williamson does a good job of not being heavy handed in forming that bond between them. The outback setting is more just... inconsequential.
Last is a story on Iris infiltrating a criminal organization. This was probably the best story as it ends with Iris suspecting Barry of something. Not necessarily that he is the Flash, but she knows something is up and that dynamic is something that we have been waiting for as Flash fans.
Overall, good but not great. Hopefully Williamson can reach the peaks of vol 1 again and get us back on track.

'Flash Vol. 3: Rogues Reloaded' by Joshua Williamson collects The Flash issues 14-20. The first part is a Rogues character arc, then there are some other stories.
The Rogues on their own were never much of a threat to Central City and The Flash. When they teamed up, they were more of a problem. Now they have disappeared and Flash wonders where they've gone. What he finds out becomes a threat to the city.
In the backup stories, Wally West is looking for his father and that leads him and Barry to Belle Reve prison. Iris is investigating the aftermath of the Speed Force storm. In both stories, Barry's secret identity is on tenuous ground with the two people he is closest to.
The three stories are all pretty good, but the Rogues one was the best. There are 5 different artists over the span of these issues, and the quality feels pretty consistent.

A good arc and very much an improvement over the last book. I had the last at 3.5 while this was a hard 4. The rogues arc was the strongest section of this chapter while the reveal of Barry to Wally finally rid the series of that annoying debate. I think The Flash has been the consistent of all the rebirth issues. This finally brings me in line for the Button miniseries, the main reason I caught up with this series. The writers here are much in line with Barry and The Flash, the Justice League is an overblown series that is constantly poor with the The Flash characteristics. The Justice League, much like the Avengers should only come together in a crisis, not a bimonthly series.

I got really behind on my reading and reviewing a couple months ago due to some health problems. This was something I should have written a review for at least a month ago. I never had gotten around to reading the first 2 volumes of this series yet though. After I started at the beginning of this series, I was ready to just completely stop and not read anymore. Volumes 1 & 2 were terrible. They were the worst 2 Flash books I've ever read and I go all the way back to the early 80's as a Flash reader. I stuck with the series though so I wouldn't have a book I was given that I didn't review.
Joshua Williamson has 3 separate stories collected in this volume. The first arc is the title of the book. It focuses on Flash trying to take down the Rogues. The Rogues are some of my favorite Flash villains so I might have a little bias towards the book since it features them. Wally and Iris have cameos at the very beginning, but we finally get a full story arc that is about Flash battling his villains. This is the first time since this series started that it actually feels like a Flash comic. The previous volumes should have been called Wally West, Kid Flash, or Barry Allen's Love Life. Williamson's writing hasn't improved any since the first 2 volumes, but all the completely unnecessary stuff has been left out of this story arc. That's a plus.
The second arc features Barry and Wally trying to find out what happened to Wally's dad. His dad isn't in Iron Heights where he's supposed to be locked up. Wally snuck in and found some computer files that say his dad was transferred to Belle Reve. Once he gives Barry this piece of information, Barry knows that Wally's dad has been handed over to Amanda Waller for her Suicide Squad. The 2 speedsters set off for Louisiana in search of Wally's dad and end up following a trail that leads them to the other side of the world.
The last story is just a single issue standalone story about Iris working a report that the body's of Godspeed's victims from volume 1 have all gone missing. There is a decent reveal at the very end, but if you've been reading comics for a while, it's something you can see coming before it ever happens. That's one of the major problems I have with Williamson's writing. Everything he writes is so simplistic that I don't see how anyone with over about a 5th grade education can get any enjoyment out of his stories. His writing is only a step or so removed from "See Spot Run", or in this case, see Flash run. Everything is too easily resolved. The writing gets 2.5 stars.
4 different artists work on the 7 issues collected here. Carmine Di Giandomenico pencils issues #14-16 by himself. He combines with Davide Gianfelice and Neil Googe for issue #17. Jesus Merino is the lone artist for issue #18. Merino teams up with Di Giandomenico for issue #19, and Neil Googe handles the final issue by himself. I hated Di Giandomenico's artwork in volume 1, almost as much as I hate trying to type his name out repeatedly. I was so glad that I didn't have to suffer through his "art" in volume 2. I really hoped that DC had realized the major mistake they had made and completely removed him from the series, but no, he's back as the main guy again. As soon as I saw his name on the cover for this one, I knew the art would be horrendous. Googe's art is growing on me slowly. I think it's because I get to see it compared with Di Giandomenico's work that it looks good. If I saw Googe's work away from the rest, it wouldn't look nearly as good. Davide Gianfelice has the best art in the book and he only gets a handful of pages. Flash is a major star at DC and deserves a star artist on his series. The art gets 1.5 stars.
The art and writing aspects of this book combine for an overall rating of 2 stars. I'm really interested in reading the Batman/Flash crossover, but after that, I'm done with this series until the creative staff changes. It's a shame that New 52 Flash was so great and now Rebirth Flash is one of the worst books produced by DC. Stay away from this series.
