I love reading books about shifters and romance, was excited to read this story. I can finish a book within a couple of hours. But this book reads like a middle schooler wrote it. It does not flow like other books i have read. The grammar is horrible, and the attempt to make it sound like an adult book fell flat.
The summary sounded good, but I couldn't even finish the book. The way the characters talk sounds kinda sexist and just downright horrible when they talk about women or girls in the book, calling them words I don't want to repeat. Also like kidnapping a girl and threatening her parents??? Like what's up with that? Especially since the main character is only in high school, like yes she is 18, but it's still horrible, stalkerish, and creepy.
The writing is extremely juvenile, the grammar is bad, and the whole thing needs a good editor. It's sad because it has a great premise. It's just poorly executed.
It was an unexpectedly long read, which I liked, as most of these types of books are too short when so much could be fit in. The constant mystery to who was behind the attacks and such was really making a thrill out of it all.
Enjoyed this book and can't wait for the second book to follow. However I did find a lot of missed words. Such as a, his, to and or miss used his for her or versa. And then some words that appeared not completed. If I had not found so many errors it would have been a 5 straight up.
I dont know how to describe this great novel without giving too much away..all I can truely say is read it! From the beginning till the end its truely amazing! You will wonder over this and that the whole way till finally you get all the answers that have been hidden since her birth...and the book never seemed to stop amazing me with all its twists and turns and the last 4 chapters were honestly mind blowing! Highly recommended ❤
I loved this book. I loved the strength and sass of Jillian. More twist and turns you could think of. It shows you can be different but strong all at the same time.
I’ve never been into reading period but since the pandemic I have fallen in love. I really like the genre and live wolves so I had to check it out. I could not put in down.
There are some good points in this book, and it sounded promising at the beginning. Also, I'm a sucker for werewolf stories. Unfortunately, it feels more like a Wattpad book than something that should be published.
Everything is so bipolar; the storyline, characters, plot. Nothing makes sense and we see it going from hot to cold and all the way around again.
Some of these dialogues sound like something a 15 year old thought of, and not like actual people talk. There are way too many murder attempts in this book and it just feels like a bunch of scenes thrown together that should work well in theory, but the end result is simply a mess.
Read this at your own peril. The only good thing is that it's available on KU, so the actual cost is negligible. It's more the time it takes to go through it. Feels more like a chore than pleasure.
Lol, this book is so bad I'm only on chapter 3 and I'm laughing so hard at the wordage used. Kimberly just tells the new girl out of the blue who is human hey we're all wolves here. Don't worry we don't care if you're human (the only one in the school). And Julia takes it all in stride like it's an everyday occurrence to run into a town of shapeshifters. Then when the alpha King has his inner dialogue with his wolf sometimes he calls his wolf and sometimes the wolf has a name Raul. The real kicker that made me laugh so hard was Julian parents don't have names in the book. It reminds me of the Nickelodeon kids shows or you can't see the parents faces. Even when being talked to without Julian being around there just simply called Julian's father said or Julian's mother said.

The storyline itself is good and kept me interested, but the way it was written felt a little too cheesy at times. I felt it could have been structured better, as certain sections dragged on, especially with the multiple attacks. This made the book feel a bit lengthy and stretched in places.
That said, the pace really picked up towards the end, and I was pleasantly surprised by the twist with Warren turning out to be the rogue — definitely not something I saw coming!
Some parts of the writing felt like they leaned into teen slang or were perhaps tailored more for a younger audience, which didn’t always work for me. But overall, the story was engaging, and the twist at the end gave it the lift it needed.

Is this really an early attempt at an AI written romance book? I feel like I got conned.
It’s so stilted, and it goes round & round over the same thing. I’m 10% in & they’ve been arguing about “kicking sluts out of the house” for pages now.
The language is naive, the characters have no depth & the choices they make no sense…. For example, her parents are on a site in their town digging up bones, he stops them as he owns the land. They say ok, ask him to find them another site to explore. In what world would that happen. Literally they say “sorry, please find us another place to work” & then when he calls to say he’s taking his daughter they’re mostly fine.
Spoiler alert. I gave this book 3 stars because it was a clean read, no graphic sex and no F or GD’s. The plot was predictable. I figured out that Warren was the traitor early In the book. Jillian is supposed to have so much power over people and could make them tell the truth, yet she was not involved in interrogating the suspects. She had brilliant ideas on how capture the bad guys making others seem dumb in comparison. This book just didn’t hold my attention. I won’t be reading the sequel .
Poor Jillian she doesn't have a break in her life, after learning she is the mate of the Alhpa King , she's kidnapped, threat, and almost got kill several times. This book has a lot of romance, action . I was heart broken when Jillian lost her baby. Edric is very overprotective and Loving Alhpa King , and he is the only one who can protect her from the evil following both of them.
How is this book 4 1/2 stars. There is no way. The fact that the book is wrote like a narrative didn’t upset me. It was the main character , she was super immature and Blaise. No emotion when you find out that a whole school is full of werewolves. No emotion when a man changes into a wolf. Over exaggerates having a mate. The author references twilight and wants them to write a paper about it. Why I don’t know. Bad read , I could not finish it.
Just finished this on AnyStories. Amazing. Here is the link The Alpha King's Human Mate from #Goodreads AnyStories is a must! I love it. Here's the link...
I tried to read this book 2x's. I cannot get past 13% in kindle. There is a story here, but what is given is more of an "almost ready for novel" long essay. I do not appreciate 'reading' a story from the pov of an editor. There is no believable dialogue whatsoever...if you are looking for a bunch of used words that make a grammatically correct dialogue without insight, this is for you. If you are looking for ANY sort of actual literature, DO NOT READ.
This was fine, an average read at best. This appears to me to be written by a teen or early adult. The writing isn’t all that sophisticated and the plot is pretty simple. The characters are okay too. It wasn’t hard to figure out who the evil guy was. Towards the end, it seemed to try to be more complicated than needed. But the bad guy was actually easy to spot if you’ve paid attention.
The storyline was okay but the flow of the story threw me for a hard left. The grammar was constantly throwing me off as well . I get it, you want to sound proper BUT the constant “I am” instead of “I’m” made the sentence structure sound awful like you’re anti contractions and I couldn’t for the life of me get over it.
I felt as though a elementary kid had wrote this. Yeah it is fiction but it can be wrote as if its not. I tried to read it, but it went from bad to god awful. What parent does nothing when their child is taken? A harem and half naked teenage girls and a crying "Luna" that acts 5.
I love the story plot and the sassy Luna!! I liked it but I didn't in a way! Hard to follow when the author talks in 3rd person!! But I did love how she included everyone thoughts!! I did not hate!! The twist and turns of the plot was crazy but loved the ending!!
I had mixed feelings about this book, I loved so many parts of it, it holds to much potential I just think some of the execution was off. Overall a fairly good read. I think it just needed a little more time to grow, then it would have been great.
Story was extremely long. Could use editing. At times story was slow, then others there is too much. Ending though was pretty entertaining and a HEA. Overall enjoyed the book.
Omg i love this book been reading for 4 time lol . Is amazing about king n queen story. I recommend everyone to read this amazing lovely story o would give 100 star rate for it lol :)
Lovely, rocky, heartwarming suspenseful story. With a strong female heroin and the hot King of the Werewolves that loves her . As they try to figure out who wants her dead and why . But, as you will find , his love is very strong in her own right . Great Story .
This was a cute story of two people learning to love each other. Especially one being a wolf king and unknown to her special abilities of being special Jillian falls for Edric.
