Welcome to Austin, Texas where football is a religion. Austin is the home of the Lone Stars, the youngest team in the NFL. The players take football very seriously. They work hard and play even harder. In this box set, you'll meet Clint, Chord, and Devin. They learn the hard way that all is fair in love and football and love is just the beginning.
Book 1: PERFECT SUMMER 2 simultaneously occurring love stories. The main story is about Summer a high school teacher for disadvantaged teens. She has body image issues and is described as curvy. She has a very precarious relationship with her mother, who is cold and judgemental, despite her mother's treatment, Summer sees potential and good in everyone.
Clint is a famous playboy pro-footballer who is looking to improve his image and win a valuable endorsement contract by volunteering in Summer's class as a class mentor. He is a charmer and uses this to distract people from discovering his fear of public speaking.
Meanwhile, Summer's mother Lilly is an incredibly well-preserved 48 and tired of living the empty life of a socialite. Her cheating husband died years ago, her daughter barely accepts her presence and she is always worried about people gossiping about her. She meets a much younger man Davis (35) who she can just be herself with. No socialite facade, just Lilly. She discovers that she likes who she is around him, but is still worried about the age difference.
Davis loves Lilly. He doesn't see a problem that she's older but has so much trouble getting her to see they could have a real future together. He hates being her little secret.
The two stories run together so well. I loved both. The heroines were funny and the heroes were romantic and not too complicated.
A great read with many laugh out loud moments.
This book contains mild descriptive love scenes. __________ BOOK 2: SAVING GRACE
Grace is an amateur singer/songwriter who had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction on a tv talent show and is now known across the country as "nipple lady".
She has held any number of random jobs in between her singing gigs. She's currently unemployed and literally singing for her supper when she meets and saves Coco from a bad situation.
Turns out Coco's dad is Chord, the head coach of the city's famous NFL team.
Grace has a gift with kids and Chord needs someone reliable to watch over his daughter and 8 years old twin boys. Not to mention Grace needs a job and a place to stay.
I love a clueless, but loving dad/ live-in nanny romance, and this was a great one. Chord means well and clearly adores his kids. The children were well-drawn characters, not too cliche. Coco is a classic young teenaged girl who thinks she knows everything and the boys have their quirks too.
This book contains descriptive love scenes. ______________
BOOK 3: CHANGING LANES
This one is a second-chance romance. The main characters met at 17 years of age at a summer camp and fell in love. Total soul-mates. Through circumstances they never met again.
Fast forward 14 years... Devon is a famous footballer
I am a huge fan of sports romance, and Katie Graykowski is one of the best authors of said books. There is good character development, good storyline and always an HEA!
Haven’t read this author and have to say was surprised by how much I enjoyed each book. The second and third are definitely my favourites and couldn’t put them down . Great characters and well thought out stories, bring your hankies for the last one.
She gets straight to what matters when it comes to writing about love!! It’s messy, thrilling, can’t think straight kind a feeling and best feeling ever when reciprocated 🥰🥰🥰
Brilliant humour, kept getting funny looks off my hubby with the laughter ,and giggling to myself in the corner. A three story romance that keeps the same characters . Loved it all.
Compilation box set of Perfect Summer, Saving Grace and Changing Lanes that you need to read them because they will make you laugh and some crying especially in Changing Lanes. Katie Graykowski is one of my fun comfort reads set in Austin with some larger than life members of the Lone Stars players and coaches.
The Lone Stars series is related to the Tough Ladies series so there is a large numbers of books to put on your list that you need to read. Enjoy!
If you want a more in-depth review look each up to read my thought. Here I am going to tell you that these three books, only the beginning, are so much fun to read. Warning: There are many LOL moments throughout this series. I will and have already re-read these books.
