"A complex adventure and an emotional journey that explores themes of magic, sacrifice, heroism, survival, and the struggle between right and wrong." -Reader's FavoriteMagic isn't real.

Everyone knew that, and Cole was no exception. Their "perfect" world was founded on science and designed with three, beautiful, futuristic cities for its citizens to live in. Cities without poverty, homelessness, or crime. Creating this utopian world was easy to do, as long as these "problems" were relocated to a distant fourth city called Rhomac.

Cole has been stuck in Rhomac for years, barely getting by on his low-paying job at the mine. He doesn’t remember anything about his family or his past, and he doesn’t particularly care. His plan is to work at the mine until he has the money to move to one of the preferred cities.

Unfortunately, a chance encounter turns Cole’s entire plan upside down, and simultaneously reveals there is much more to his past than he originally believed. Magic is real, and somehow, Cole can control it. With his life on the line and a huge secret to hide, Cole is forced to run, leaving his old life behind. But magic is powerful, and Cole realizes both friends and enemies are equally determined to use him for their own purpose. In the end Cole must make a decision, and the wrong choice could cost him everything.

The first in an exciting new series for both boys and girls, this middle grade and young adult novel is filled with suspense, action, and danger. The unique blend of sci-fi, dystopian, and fantasy elements creates an exciting book that readers won't be able to put down.

Ashley Hayes is an adventurer, with a love for anything magical, mysterious, or exciting. While she would have loved to have wings, super super speed, or the ability to shape- shift, she has no significant super powers (yet). Even more unfortunately, she never received her Hogwarts acceptance letter, and she still hasn’t found a way into Narnia. She was quickly running out of books to read so, left with no other choice, she decided to create her own adventures.

Ashley published her first book, Magic Made, in 2019, and her second book, Magic Taken, will be released summer of 2020. Now, she also wants to share what she has learned with any other writers who are hoping to publish their stories.

Long ago, the world was at war. There was beauty and chaos, growth and destruction, life and death. And at the center of it all: the magic.
🦄🦄🦄
Cole has never believed in magic, he believes in what he can see and what is scientifically proven to exist.
While working in the Lathinium mines in Rhomac, Cole dreams of being a free bird but Rhomac was designed to keep people from escaping but that doesn't stop Cole from hoping for a better future.
But, things to a wrong turn when someone figures out a truth that Cole himself never knew.
He was made of magic.
Cole has to put his trust into the hands of strangers, but can all strangers be trusted?

Magic Made is YA Fantasy novel by Ashley Hayes.
I enjoyed this book a lot, and I'm do happy because YA Fantasy is one of my favourite genres so whenever I find a good book it warms my heart.
The plot reminds me of King Arthur meets ACOTAR meets Divergent.
The worldbuilding is amazing and has a dystopian vibe to it (hence the resemblance to Divergent).
Cole is headstrong, he stands up for his fellow mine workers and takes their burden on his shoulders from time to time. This also makes him extremely annoying because dude knows he might get hurt or die still he takes stupid decisions. 🤦🏻‍♀️
But I also loved him because of that, it showed he had a kind heart.
Aria, is a typical girl who thinks she knows everything and that made me love and hate her at the same time (because she reminds me of me, yet she infuriated me).
There are some pretty intense twists that I didn't see coming and that ending was so good and was so overwhelming yet satisfactory.
The dialogues missed the mark a little bit for me because they didn't feel authentic for me, like something the characters would say if they were real but something you would hear in a TV show or movie.
I did read the excerpt from the next book and let me tell you, I already know we're in for another wild ride.
