I hate saying these next words but I have to, I. Hated. This.Book!
F,I really do hate saying this but I just lost track of how many times I wanted to smack Vervain
(as you know "vervain is a herb the h is named after but any more it feels like the Ver part should
be dropped and it should just be Vain,w/maybe a middle name of Pride or Hubris ) upside her stupid,stupid
head..... V is for Vain,anymore for me. I swear if I had to heard her wax on about her men's physical attributes
one more time I was gonna scream.. Yes V you have seven very hot men,and while I can honestly say I only covet
a few from your horde (mainly Az,Kirill and maybe Toby) why can't you talk about them in your inner musings like
their "real ppl" and how much you treasure their love and or kindness,they way you connect when your discussing art
w/Az or how they've helped you grow as a person (sadly they haven't) something special you two share together.
Not not just endless repeating about their stupidly long hair (no offense to women who like it but hair or their butts,eyes,chest's,muscles,arms,thighs etc, you get the picture.. Yes, they are hot! but you constantly reducing them to mere objects gets old really fast. I mean you've been w/them how long now ? Don't you have more to think about than just their bodies ?
But that wasn't all that annoyed me. V can't seem to have a moment w/her men that doesn't end up centering around sex.. Now while I'm not one for a "clean romance",at all, I want moments that are sweet or tender or funny between my
H/h that shows me that they can and do connect in ways that aren't sexual in nature... I mean true intimacy isn't about sex, it's about a mental/emotional connection that you only have w/someone who is truly special to you. and after a while sex especially in an RH setting it can feel like sex for the sake of sex and here it defiantly does at times ...
Especially when we get to the part where the spoiled entitled baby Re needs to have sex w/her and living sex doll clone he's made of her. (eeeeeewwwwwww) Because when he's alone in his room getting off to watching her on the new
video system they have over her bed that's not enough.... Heaven forbid anyone doesn't get to have sex w/her in her bed that night,they
only had all day and another realm they can or could whisk her off to have all the nookie they "need".... Re is always
such a spoiled disgusting spoiled brat to me but this took the cake,worse was her reasoning for going along w/it,."Poor Re " has to share,(boo hoo) he can't have me as much as he "needs". soo I'll give him a threesome w/my clone (that's seriously weird and creepy). As I've stated that's BS and RE is where he DEMANDED to be,soo double BS. BS BS!
All that was just the icing on the deep set annoyance cake. sadly.
What get's me is V has been doing this for so so long now but she's really slow on the up take at times and those
around her are even worse... Now while she's overly prideful and foolish and takes dumb risks,like someone doesn't
kidnap her in almost every book and find a way to make her big bad A star inert and her powerless or nearly soo
and yet she runs around like she hasn't a care and their aren't always some unknown baddies after her.... V leaves me torn between
pitying her and almost hating her... The last few books I'd seen her start to really grow and the books had gotten to
where they weren't as dark as they had been and I was soo soo thrilled. I'd foolishly hoped the overly dark days of Anubis and
books like his were in the past.. but between her spitting out Vero (and her acting like a total B during his birth,How dare this hurt) (you'd think she'd have been grateful for a "normal birth" after the last two,and then handing him off like he was no big deal. (the way Vero was handled in the story was another disappointment)(it was like she was a huge
mega B during labor ,How dare it hurt! then he's passed off to daddy and basically forgotten about)..
Then there is the "squad", all of these beings have been around for 1000's and 1000's of years but they were all led
around my their noses,completely clueless and all seeming to need the great and might V to hold their hand ..
Then yet again V is kidnapped while keeping secrets from everyone and is either sexually assaulted or nearly so.
All the sexual assault is way beyond old at this point.
Amy has a brilliant mind and is an amazing storyteller,soo why does everything have to revolve around V either
having sex yet again w/her men or being kidnapped and either assaulted sexually or threatened w/it ?
The baddy at the end was a bit of a twist but it didn't really fit a 100% either...
Honestly I can't understand the 5 star reviews.
Yes Amy is amazing,she really really is but this was a hot mess that coulda and shoulda been
soo much better than it was.
ps. V goes off foolishly alone and kinda fixes whats wrong w/her friends Jackson & Tristan but we aren't
clued in as to why the other guy did what he did, we only see her opening Jackson's eyes to it...
I've loved this series for so so long but I'm really burnt out on a series that's come to feel like nothing but an endless series of sex,voluntary and not and kidnappings w/ a woman who has more pride than sense and places way too much emphasis on looks.. Hers and other ppl's....
and the cover is a muddled mess,unless you look really really closely it's hard to even know what your looking at...

Roller coaster
Omg! Ok Amy your killing me this one pulled me in so many ways I really did not see it coming.
I love Vervaine!!!! I can relate in so many ways to her character she is the back bone to so many. I tell every one they have to get on board in all my author groups on face book. LOL! They prob get sick of me. Hope to one day be able to visit Hawaii reading your books an about the islands an Greece which I'm told I have ties to which I'm unsure of until I do one of those ancestry DNA things can't think of the name it's early like stayed up till daylight finishing this book but hopefully soon I can save up enough to do the DNA thingy lol. Well anywho
Thank you again for sharing another amazing story with us that gives me a break from my reality. I love it an can't wait till next book of any of the series I'm going to check now for next release date. Hehehe.... To anyone reading these reviews I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!!

Ok...soooo I'm just gonna start by saying thank you. You made month when u released this books. Now moving on....PLEASE MAKE THE NEXT BOOK IN FAIRE. I miss all those fire people do much and omg girl is preg to i mean YAYYYY. So please pack all the kids up and stay in your fire castle (with a pool) and make history. Also where was here dog/fire animals and when r they coming back. Ok other than that, I NEED THE NEXT ONE!!! like this week or better yet tomorrow....Even if I could just read what I have so far i would be a happy girl. But anyway thank you for giving me a world to live in and get lost in. I love you and hope to dive in soon.

I've lost track of how many times I started reading this and then stopped.
But at long last, I've finished it. Again, V got imprisoned and all the other stuff happened to her again but I guess I'll take that over an over-powered character with no flaws.
I've also suspected Odin already and I can't help but think that Odin's seems so susceptible to that kind of devious attack. He really needs to improve his defense in that aspect.

She just keeps going
Is onward and upward whit our girl Vervain ,she just keeps going no matter what. I do love this series still and will keep coming back for more . I like that in this book we get to have all the kidos together , ok and the men too .😋

Amazing!
Amy Sumida is flippin' amazing! I've been on the Godhunter ride for quite awhile now and all I can say is, as long as she keeps writing this series I will be along side her reading it. If you love RH then do yourself a favor and give this series a shot!!

I just love this series!! Amy comes up with the best stories. I love how I am always sucked into the story with the characters. As always, I cant wait to read the next one!!

Intense
This was a rough story for me because rape happens several times in this book by especially evil men. Friends and loved ones are seriously betrayed and hurt. It’s a rough but well written and executed story.

THIS GIRL NEVER LISTENS TO HER INSTINCTS!!! IM SO SICK OF IT AHHHHH. Like of course without all of it there wouldn’t be any intrigue, but this is next level frustrating and annoying. Like write this better or don’t write it at all 😭. And I’m going to murder Odin. He’s the reason so much shit has happened. It’s all because of him and his hOnEsT friends. Goddamn man you aren’t a saint and neither are your friends or even you FREAKING FAMILY!!! And seriously, what’s with the human incubator and men being so disgusting? This author is a woman and the way she describes events and scenes and the plot in general is sickening. Nan. The men in this story are not it and neither is Vervian. They all have some serious issues. And this book further ciment my problem with men. WHERE DO MEN GET THE AUDACITY?! LIKE STOP ACTING LIKE FREAKING CHIMPANZEES!
Oh and let’s not forget that every waking moment with her men is a moment for sex like they aren’t even in a relationship anymore it’s just baby making and sex. Truly not a romantic book.

So V gives birth to Vero but the trouble is brewing with the gods that disappear and they start a goose chase. Apparently, gods can also steal other gods their power so that's is major problem material.
There some weird sex stuff happening - Re has a doll, there is a live feed camera showing V bed, and Arach has anal sex for the first time in 15 thousand years. Odin has been a naive dick. Stuff like that.

Most of this book is investigating the latest problem in the God world and dealing with that. Ending is sad for two of our Squaders but in book 34 I think I wonder about the soul of *spoiler* being reborn. Maybe I'll find out during this re-read.
