Jax North. He's handsome, brutally so, and wealthy. Our first encounter is intense and sex is my escape. I go with it. I go with him and what a ride it is. And then, I say goodbye. Only you don't say goodbye to a man like Jax if he doesn't want you to. I've challenged him without meaning to. He wants me. I don't want to want him, and yet, I crave him. And he tears me down, my resistance, my walls. But those walls protect me. They seal my secrets inside. And I forget that being alone is safe.

Before long, my secrets begin to be revealed, and I trust him so deeply that I think maybe he can handle them. Maybe I dare to believe that alone isn't better.

Until I discover that Jax was never an accident.

He has secrets.

He knew my secret. He came for me.

So many secrets, so much intrigue

Murder mystery, romance, family tragedy, corporate intrigue, and more. This book was really good, and the two main characters have so much chemistry that there are heated reactions happening throughout the book. The heroine is named Emma Knight and her father passed away a month ago and she recently found his journal only to discover that he was not the caring kindhearted man she believed him to be.

Emma meets the Hero, Jax North at an awards gala where she has to accept an award for her father. Since her father passed, Emma’s brother Chance Knight runs the Knight Hotel Dynasty and Emma has only ever been trusted with scouting new locations. Her father wanted her to marry Chance’s right hand man Randall, so he made Randall the executor of Emma’s trust which she doesn’t get for years.

Emma has no intention of marrying Randall and while hiding from him at the Gala, she meets Jax North who lost his father last year and lost his brother six months ago. Jax’s company supplies Knight hotels with North Whiskey, a high end brand that his family makes at their own castle. Jax blames the Knight Family for the death of his brother and is in town to find out what happened and get revenge.

The attraction between Jax and Emma is immediate and strong and he plans to use Emma to get the information he needs. Though when the two get together, they both have so many secrets and are suspicious of each other despite the explosive chemistry. They are not the only ones with secrets, almost every supporting character has secrets as well.

There is Emma’s brother who seems nice and who she trusts but may be hiding things, there is Emma’s ex-Fiancé who is super shady and makes Emma nervous, there is Marion Roger’s a married client who was having an affair with her father and will do almost anything to keep it from her wealthy husband and Emma’s Father and Jax’s dead brother who took their secrets to the grave, and lastly Jax’s younger brother Brody. Of course with all the intrigue and secrets you know there is a cliffhanger so we don’t know what happens. But I can’t wait to find out.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 Secretive Stars!

Boy does this author really know how to takes us down some very twisted paths. One Man is the first of 3 books in the Naked Trilogy. It ends on a huge cliffhanger, so much happened and I'm left knowing very little by the end of this book.

The fact that I'm left guessing on so much has me itching for the next book. The more secretive everything is, the faster I want to read to unveil all the truths. The story line is extremely intriguing. I have no idea what part everyone is playing. Something big is being being hidden and I have NO clue what it is.

Despite all the hidden truths left to be uncovered, I never worry about the main couple with this author. I know they will be solid and I like that even if they don't completely trust each other at first, they always end up working together against the world. I love that!

I can't wait for book 2!

Review for the complete trilogy.

What a wonderful journey this was!

One of my favorite stories by this author. Truly a wonderful read that has it all: fantastic characters, fiery passion, romance, sizzling and intense chemistry, suspenseful plot-line, emotional conflict, and a stellar cast of supporting characters. Jax and Emma were so incredible together, both strong willed, capable, and vulnerable in their own way. I liked how LRJ portrayed this dynamic duo and how they complemented each other perfectly. I was gripped and I was intrigued all the way through! Overall rating : 4.5 stars!

Gah! Not surprising a big fat cliffy. How long do we have to wait for part two? Dang it!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is something about the writing style of Jones that seriously calls to me. I’m not one to sit and analyze what it is, however I know that I am addicted to reading her stories.
They are always unique even if the theme runs along side her many other books. Characters from other stories pop in and help tie series together. Focus on the romantic suspense genre means that you will have an exciting read.
This new release is a bit different. It focuses on one man who is focusing on one woman. It’s hot and the sparks fly from the beginning. The connection is immediate and while it is a questionable connection in terms of business, trust is a delicate balance.
With plenty of hot and heavy scenes and a fast pace, this book is a glimpse into the backhanded deals gone wrong, ex fiance's who think they still have control, and the hunt to find the truth, no matter who gets hurt.
But we have to wait for books 2 and 3 to get it all! The cliffhanger is in effect on this one! NOOOOOOOO
One Man by Lisa Renee Jones is definitely about a hunk of a man and it was a pleasure getting to know him! Cannot wait for more of Jax!
I read Miss Jones book before, Provocative. I remember I do not have warm or like the book very much. Now with One Man, I also feel the same. I think the story is very promising. Romance with a dash of suspense.
The story ends up a bit weird. The romance is picking up very quickly but the build up of suspense fails. I feel the whole book is dragging on the romance. The suspense is on the background. So I am not really feeling it. I give this book 3 stars because of Jax. I like him. He is handsome, mysterious and dark hero. He is also fiercely loving Emma despite the history between their families.
One Man is a mysterious romance about forbidden love, powerful families, and tragic events. From the very first page, I was left wondering what in the world was going on. Did I miss something? It was a frustratingly steamy read that left me wanting the next book ASAP.
The North family and the Knight family are powerful, wealthy families. The Knights own a chain of luxury hotels, whereas the Norths own their own whiskey – North Whiskey. It isn’t until Emma Knight meets Jax North, shortly after her dad passes, that she realizes that there is some bad blood between their families. Jax seems to know more on the topic than Emma, but she is determined to find out. It doesn’t take long to figure out that she is a pawn in the middle of this spiraling game, but she can’t stay away from Jax North.
The chemistry and steam surrounding Jax and Emma is unreal. At first, it seemed too instantaneously or obsessive but I quickly realized something. I don’t care. There was a spark between them the whole book. It makes it hard to deny their connection – instalove or not. It was hot. It was steamy. It was good.
Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups with this book. And unfortunately, I cannot talk about them due to spoilers but know that they were minor. The main thing that perturbed me was that cliffhanger ending. I’m okay with small cliffhangers, but this one left me dangling from the edge. This book was good and didn’t need such a cliffhanger to keep their audience coming back for more.
I recommend this one to all my mystery-lovin’ romance junkies out there. The next book, One Woman, comes out September 17th! I cannot wait.
Jax North CEO of North Whiskey is a complicated man, he's rich, beautiful & powerful and I just met him by accident when I entered his booth at a gala I'm speaking at in Honor my father king of Knights Hotels who died 30 days prior from a heart attack. I was running & hiding from another man that thinks he possess me. My name is Emma Knight and I am drowning in sorrow over my father's death and want everyone to just to leave me alone. Jax seems to understand this and the connection we share is alarming.
Everyone has secrets and hidden agendas who can Jax or Emma trust. Should Jax & Emma continue with their families rivalry or are they allies after the same answers? This book has so many moving parts Randall Emma's brother Chance right hand man, Marian her father's mistress, her sadistic bastard of an ex her nightmare York Waters who has tones of secrets on Emma that he is threaten to reveal, that would destroy her family empire, Chance Emma's brother who has been watching her by surveillance, which Emma didn't know and lastly Jax who is out for revenge for his brother Hunter suicide/murder, which he believes the Knight family has hands in. I Forgot to mention that Walker Security has been hired to protect Emma by Jax. So yes lots of moving parts but worth it!!!!
What a great beginning to this new trilogy! Filled with suspense, drama, plenty of secrets and questions that are not easily answered, I was intrigued and deeply invested in the story.
I love how this author pulled me into the lives of these characters instantly. The chemistry between Jax and Emma is instantaneous and believable. The heat factor is absolutely sizzling in its intensity. But the real heart of this story are the secrets that both the hero and heroine are keeping from each other even as they try to figure out exactly what happened in the past.
description
While Jax has a mind towards revenge, his attraction to Emma makes him hesitate with his initial plan to use her. It doesn’t take him long to want more from her and what began as a promise of just a one night stand is soon a desire for things he shouldn’t want with her. He quickly develops an urge to protect her from not only her past but with the threat that it currently represents.
”If taking over your life is the same as protecting you, we have a problem. Because I can’t be in your life and not protect you. I won’t say I will because I won’t.”
description
Emma’s life took a sudden dive after reading her father’s journal after his death. Faced with a den of vipers when she would rather be anywhere else, she finds a moment of solace with Jax. After a few encounters, she can’t deny that she wants what their bodies are clamoring for. But with his hatred for her family she struggles whether to trust him.
”How do I know what’s honest? How?”
“D—n it, woman,” he murmurs and then he’s tangling fingers into my hair and dragging my mouth to his, kissing me, a deep, drug me, tear me to pieces and put me back together again kiss that owns me. God, he owns me this easily and it’s terrifying. “Does that taste honest? Does that taste read, Emma?”
description
Both Jax and Emma have secrets that are revealed a bit to each other, some to the reader, and many more kept locked away until the perfect time. Nothing about this beginning feels contrived. In the true style of this author, the story builds one step at a time and grows with each scene, each sentence and each moment setting us up for what is a huge cliffhanger. Gah! Can you say, “Where is book 2?!”
One man can change everything. That man can touch you and you tremble all over. That man can wake you up and allow you to breathe when life leaves you unable to catch your breath. For me that ONE MAN is Jax North. But Jax North is nothing I expect. Jax knows my secrets. He was never an accident. Jax North may well be my beautiful disaster.
I love how the blurb on Amazon says that “One Man is the first book in the dangerously sexy Naked Trilogy”. Very well said … dangerous and sexy are definitely 2 words I would use to describe thisTrilogy. Others would be exciting and addicting.
Lisa Renee Jones has been an addiction of mine for a while now. It’s sad that I compare other Romantic Suspense stories to hers and can notice the differences. One Man is definitely a wild ride and you are not sure if you should hang on or just take the free-fall with Jax and Emma and hope that you land safely.
Jax is powerful and sexy. A man who knows what he wants and how to go after it. Unfortunately, he didn’t know that he wanted Emma until she was there. She was a means to end up until the time that she became so much more. He has to convince her that they are good together, they belong together, no matter what she’s hiding from him.
Emma is a woman definitely coming into her own. She knows things that could put her in danger. And danger does find her time and time again. Until Jax. He’s become her savior. The One Man that understands what she is going through. The One Man that can tear her family apart. Does she trust him not to hurt her or is he just using her as a means to end. These are questions she has to answer herself and there is only one way for her to find out the true answer … go with him.
I can’t get over how well LRJ can keep a person sitting on the edge of their seat and wondering just who the real players are in the story. What are their agenda’s and how are they going to get to the end of them? She keeps you guessing and has you turning each page with both trepidation and excitement. The mark of a fantastic Romantic Suspense author. Bring on One Woman because I can’t wait to see just where this ride is taking us.
I love this author she is one of my favorite. Yes usually her books have cliffhangers and this is one of them.
Jax and Emma's family are at a crossroads. Jax believes her family is the reason why his brother his dead. Emma is wondering whether she knew her father at all. As well as is her brother involve in this. She can't believe what she is hearing and what she has read in her father's journal. In true Lisa fashion this book is sexy and filled with suspense.
I really like Jax and hope he isn't hiding something.
One Man is the first book in the "Naked" trilogy and this was such a diverting read. I was instantly pulled into this story and I can normally trust this author to just attract me to a story to quickly. I found the chemistry to be so intense and I love this style of contemporary. Its so reminiscent of the books by Katy Evans and Sylvain Rey ard. I really adored the way that these two come together, even though there are lots of secrets and mistrust between them. Their families are enemies, but they find something so unique and special together despite what has happened between their families. I really enjoyed both of the main characters and it's always a delight to find a contemporary that has duo pov. I love seeing both perspectives. I always like these type of billionaire romances though and there is a sense of family devotion within this book and even though it ends with a cliffhanger, I had a blast with seeing how this story was built throughout the story. This is the type of trilogy you want to get all copies of before reading, so that you can read them together. I know this isn't something everyone enjoys, but I adore this when its done in a certain way and Lisa Renee Jones does such a brilliant job.
❤~🌟~❤ 4.5 BREATH-STEALING STARS! ❤~🌟~❤
“Once I catch her, she’s mine.”
Lisa Renee Jones tantalizes with ONE MAN, the first titillating installment in her brand new Naked Trilogy! And yowza, it’s a SCORCHER that electrifies the senses and keeps us on pins and needles from start to finish!
THE PREMISE:
Emma Knight and Jax North’s families have been in business for years. Emma is the heiress to the Knight Hotel Empire and Jax is the owner of North Whiskey. But when tragedy strikes Jax’s family, he sets out to get to the bottom of the Knight dynasty's part in his brother’s untimely demise. However, when Jax pursues the beautiful brunette with a vengeance, determined to expose her family’s dark, dirty secrets and exact retribution by any means necessary, he is unprepared for the combustible sparks that fly between them. Her grief over her father’s death is as palpable as his own gut-wrenching loss, and despite everything, she awakens a part of him he cannot deny. Which puts him between a rock and a hard place.
“One minute, I’m trying to ruin her family, the next, I want to save her.”
Will his ravenous cravings for this bewitching beauty unravel his carefully laid plans or will he do whatever it takes to steamroll over the Knight family to ensure he is the last man standing? My lips are sealed but as these two “enemies” find themselves joining forces in the mad hunt for the truth, prepare for fireworks galore!
MY MUSINGS:
Chock full of glitz and glamour, secrets and scandals, dirty dealings and sizzling hot encounters, ONE MAN is all kinds of SCRUMPTIOUS! I was reeled in from the very first drama-laden page and my heart kept racing in my chest until the jawdropping end.
There is so much to love about ONE MAN! It’s alluring. Passionate. And oh sooo addictive. I love the palpable discord, the smoldering sparks, the nail-biting suspense, the steamy sexcapades, and most ESPECIALLY, the emotional tug of war between Emma and Jax as they endeavor to figure out what the other is hiding while fighting a losing battle for their all-consuming feelings for each other! One of my favorite things about LRJ’s books is that her couples have an instantaneous, blistering chemistry from the very moment they lock eyes...and lips...and such was the case with Emma and Jax. These two feel so passionately—for their families and each other—and their interactions are SO FREAKING INTENSE that I was rendered breathless!
“His searing kiss... is all about demand. It’s possession. It’s sex and sin and satisfaction. It’s a kiss that leaves no room for conversation.”
Gah, this author’s alpha males are always intoxicating and Jax North emanates power, charisma, unbridled lust and virile sex appeal!
“I’m a loyal friend and a dangerous enemy.”
His brand of pure potent, rough-hewn masculinity not only made me spontaneously combust but he is a man on the edge! This “tall, blond, and handsomely brooding” whiskey magnate—an enticing combination of gentle yet confident, caring and dominant—is on a fact finding mission interlaced with a hefty dash of cold-blooded revenge. But the beautiful woman he’s initially tempted to ensnare in his trap may just slay HIM in the end because there is so much more to Emma than he ever envisioned.
And as much as he want to bring down the Knight dynasty and make them pay for their supposed cutthroat machinations and greedy shenanigans, it soon becomes readily apparent that this woman in his crosshairs is up to her glorious neck in shark-infested waters and possesses an aching vulnerability and inner fire that unravels him. And Emma needs HIS help to keep her own enemies at bay. But while there’s no denying that the heiress to the Knight worldwide empire arouses a fierce protectiveness in Jax that catches him off guard, can he truly trust this woman who ignites his blood and fuels his every desire? Only time will tell because there is much more than avenging his brother’s death that’s at stake. Two hearts are on the line, and more lives may hang precariously in the balance!
While there are many unknowns in this first installment, which keeps us guessing throughout—like why is acquiring the Castle so important to the Knights and what earth shattering secrets are locked inside that leather bound journal —one thing is abundantly clear: With these two star-crossed lovers, the fierce internal war swirling within them is as alluring the treacherous feud that’s brewing between their two rival dynasties. Their families are at war, but will their feelings for each other trump all?
At 300 pages, this is a full bodied read, but as with all of LRJ’s books, her riveting, frenzied paced style has you frantically flipping through the pages, desperate to unravel the truth and pondering what strategic move these wildly unpredictable characters will make next. This first installment in the trilogy is uber intriguing, sensually and emotionally charged, and brilliantly sets the stage for books two and three. And, as expected, the erotic interludes are high octane, scorching hot, breathtakingly tender, and so scintillating you WILL feel the burn!
There are of course cameos from her previous books to help our main players out as well as some new baddies, including Emma’s abusive ex, Waters, and that duplicitous Marion to amp up the danger. And finally, true to form, Ms. Jones leaves us dangling off a blasted cliff by book’s end, screaming for ONE WOMAN pronto! But there’s no doubt it my mind that it will be well worth the wait!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
⭐️ 4.5 Alluring. Passionate. Addictive. Stars ⭐️
Lisa Renee Jones once again masterfully transported me into world dominated by billionaires, filled with betrayals, secrets and loss. Both characters know loss all too well and that commonality just intensified their instant connection and together they’re determined to uncover the secrets that started it all.
Jax North was oh, so sexy from the moment he made his appearance. Cool, controlled, he had a mission and Emma Knight was his target. But the moment he met her his mission was slightly derailed. With her sweetness and air of innocence she couldn’t possibly be connected to what the Knight family did to his.
Jax is now head of his family’s empire and not only does he have the business to manage but he’s set on uncovering recent events that led him to inherit. He knows the Knight family is behind it and Emma being the only daughter she’s an easy target, right? He discovers that’s not the case. She may give off an innocent vibe but deep down she been in survivor mode her whole life. Now she’s learning her family isn’t what she thought and she has just as many questions as Jax does.
I found myself lost in their story. Trying to uncover the clues just as they were. Who can be trusted? Who’s behind what? So many players and none of them appear to be as they seemed. I, too, am now invested in discovering the truth. I’m excited for the next installment and eager to learn more about the North and Knight families. I also want to know what’s in store for Jax and Emma and their budding relationship.
The female narrator’s male voices all sound the same. When there is a scene with Jax, Chance, York, and Randall, I could not tell which was which. Plus, the female narrator always sounded breathless and panicked. Her voice got on my nerves. I can not believe that the author did not get a better narrator. Not sure if the publisher or author chooses the narrator(s).
I do not understand why Jax wanted Emma. She was always fidgety and manic. The woman needed a psychiatrist and not a boyfriend. Within a short time, he was crazy about her. I guess the sex was amazing. Ugh...
Anyway, Emma was nothing special. She complained about going to events. She just whined a lot about everything. It must be hard to be rich all your life...
No OW drama. No real angst. A lot of ‘we should be together’ nonsense. There are secrets between the two families.
I really liked One Man, but I sadly didn't love it as much as I was hoping to. I liked both Jax and Emma as characters for the most part, and I thought that they had sizzling hot chemistry with each other. However, I didn't like the fact that One Man definitely suffers from one of the most ridiculous cases of insta-love that I've encountered in a book in years, and that includes YA romance books; which are usually the biggest offenders when it comes to a book suffering from insta-love. While I found the overall plot of One Man pretty interesting, I found various aspects of Lisa Renee Jones' writing for Jax and Emma's relationship somewhat repetitive; especially when it came to their interactions with each other. That being said, I found the cliffhanger that One Man ends on very interesting and exciting, which has definitely gotten me very excited to read One Woman! :)
My rating / score: 3 1/2 out of 5 Stars on the Goodreads rating system, and 7 out of 10 on my own personal scoring system.
3.5 "North Whisky" stars
Firstly, Contemporary Romance definitely isn't my favourite type of the Romance genre. I tend to prefer Historical and PNR.
Secondly, the ultra-successful millionaire trope also doesn't rock my boat too much.
But.... I liked One Man.
I liked Jax North. A lot.
Typical alpha male, but still different enough to interest me.
Emma... I didn't connect with her but still found her arc appealing. She is going through a lot, but she is keeping her head up and staying strong.
The cliffhanger was just a bit too much.
We have this wonderful build up, then..... Nothing. Read book 2.
It's not that I generally mind a cliffhanger, this book just didn't have it's own ending. That I mind. You have to leave the reader with something at least. Just my opinion.
*I received a free copy of One Man from the author. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*
One Man hit the right spot. There is romance, there is suspense, and there is danger, plus a mystery. Jax and Emma both had secrets. And some of those secrets, they might not even know they held. Their chemistry was off the charts - and even if their romance was fast, I truly enjoyed myself.
One Man finished with a cliffhanger, and I'm very anxious to see what will happen next.
Leaves you wanting more
Not your average romance, One Man is sexy, mysterious, and intense. From the very first page, this story is filled with secrets, leaving the reader wondering about characters’ motivations and intentions. Paired with Lisa Renee Jones’ fantastic writing style, and it’s easy to get lost in the story. I was definitely intrigued by Jax and Emma, and left wanting more when the book ended on a CLIFFHANGER. Though there’s plenty to this story, there are definitely questions left unanswered when the book ends.
The story follows Jax, a man who has felt a lot of loss recently. Following the death of his father and brother, he is seeking revenge against those he believes are responsible - and is willing to use Emma as a tool to accomplish that goal. What he doesn’t expect is to be so drawn to a woman who should be his enemy. From the moment they meet, there is an intense connection that remains unwavering even as family drama unravels. Emma has been used in the past, and she knows with certainty that she cannot trust Jax, but that doesn’t stop her from being drawn to him.
The writing is really great - making the reader question things but leaving little breadcrumbs along the way. I loved the chemistry between Jax and Emma (though considering this is a trilogy, I would’ve also loved a little more buildup between them). The sexy times commence pretty quickly, but they are written so well - every action moves the relationship forward, and made it that much easier to fall for Jax. He’s a dominant man who knows where the line is, and his caring for Emma is one of the best parts of the story. Once you read this book, I find it unlikely that you’ll be able to resist continuing with the series, so keep that in mind while reading. I received a free copy via NetGalley but went ahead and purchased it for my collection as well. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy and mysterious book.
I am not a big fan of LRJ's writing style. I think she over states too much and her plots and paragraphs are pretty repetitive. There were also some grammatical/spelling errors.
The connection between Jax North and Emma Knight is "insta" but can these two adversaries learn to trust each other given their family history?
There is of course, hot sex, hot scenes and an ex fiance who thinks he can still control Emma, lots of backhanded deals that we are still waiting to understand.
The book concludes at 88% with a must have cliff hanger and sketchy answers.
One day I’ll be patient. I’ll wait for all of the books in the series to release and binge them all so I won’t have to suffer through cliffhangers! I can’t wait to get my hands on book two in this new series. Even though I might be waiting impatiently because of the way the first book ended, I know the wait will be worth it. This author may like to make us suffer a little bit but she makes it so extremely worth it.
This story is filled with suspense, drama, secrets, questions, and intrigue. I am left with a lot more questions than answers after finishing this story. I love how the author immediately draws the reader into the characters lives and lets you connect to them almost instantly. The chemistry between Jax and Emma sparks hot right off the bat but what happens when secrets they are keeping from each other threaten to ruin it all?
I love the way this author pulls in characters from her past stories into the new ones. The Walker Security team is one of my favorite character groups and love when I get to see them in action.
I’m invested in these characters and can’t wait to see how their story plays out over the final two books in the trilogy.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
4 star review One Man (Naked Trilogy #1) by Lisa Renee Jones
I found this book to be well written and had me engaged from the first to the last chapter. This was a romantic suspense story with more emphasis on the romance that the suspense in my opinion. There is a cliff hanger so my review is brief as I do not want to spoil the storyline.
There were plenty of secrets and hopefully all will be revealed in due course. Emma Knight and Jax North, the chemistry between them is hot and intense and yet neither of them want the attraction that sizzles between them. Emma is a strong, feisty woman who is independent and able to hold her own. I loved how protective Jax was, a total alpha. who ticked the boxes.
Emma and Jax are both burdened with secrets and family nightmares. He comes looking for her in search of answers about his brother's death. She is just trying to find her way after the death of her father and the unfairness of the results of his will.
After finding her father's journal, some of the secrets are exposed. The man she had looked up to all her life is not what she thought he was. He was full of deceit and evil, hurting those who loved him. It is up to her to find out what her father was up to.
The attraction between Emma and Jax is such, they both end up trusting each other and pursuing a relationship. Little did they know their attraction will not be enough to stop others from plotting and placing their lives in danger.
This series is amazingly fast paced and intriguing. I can hardly wait to read the next installment.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Wowza! This one is a doozy folks! Lisa took me on one heck of a hot and steamy ride. Super great flow to the story. Lots of little twists. Tons of crazy secrets that I need all the answers to. Definitely left me wanting more. Jones is epic with her story telling. Which is probably why I’ve read them all.... this one is right up there for me. Instant chemistry with the characters that kept me giddy with excitement. I loved how they connected and although everything at this point is against them it seems they are keeping it together extremely well. Honesty is their best policy it seems. But the secrets..... I’m worried about. Definitely a great read!! Very suspenseful and addicting!
This is the start to another trilogy for Lisa Renee Jones. Like always with her writing, this book is filled with angst, romance and plenty of secrets and suspense.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat and holding on until the cliffhanger, which I knew was coming, but it left me hanging on with a lot of questions. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Emma and Jax.
4 stars. One Man is book one in the Naked trilogy and is really good! This is the beginning of Jax and Emma's story. Emma's father has recently died and certain events have left her confused and wondering who he really was. Jax's brother has died under mysterious circumstances and he is left wondering if he was murdered. Both Emma and Jax work for their family companies, big corporations in whiskey and the hotel industry. The companies have been rivals and sometimes enemies. Jax thinks Emma's family may have had something to do with his brother's death. He sets out to meet her and use her to get information from her. But when the two meet, they discover explosive chemistry and kindred spirits. Together, the two must navigate a world of secrets, lies and mystery to reach the truth, and they fall in love along the way. But will love be enough to keep them both alive and together?
I really enjoyed this book. It is Lisa Renee Jones' signature blend of sexiness, suspense and soapy goodness. There is a Romeo and Juliet element to the story. I liked Emma and Jax a lot. They have a connection right away and both recognize it. They don't push each other away and there isn't too much back and forth. The mystery is intricate and intriguing with lots of layers. Also, unlike some trilogies, I felt like this one was really needed three books to fulfill the story and wasn't just one story stretched out unnecessarily.
Overall, One Man is full of sexy romance with an interesting mystery and great suspense. I was drawn into the story and couldn't put it down. I can not wait to find out what happens in the rest of the trilogy!
