➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS Image and video hosting by TinyPic INSPIRED: Is a full length standalone romance novel by Jessica Florence. Spoken in Dual POVs.

This delves into the sensitive topic of depression, that overwhelming feeling of burnout, of taking on too much, the thought processes turn all negative and you feel that heaviness settle deep down in your belly making you lose that motivational ability to function and this book deals with it sensitively.

This is exactly what Mia was feeling. She's a high achiever, owner of Moretti Hotels with eight hotels under her belt, burning the candle at both ends but never really taking the time out for herself. She didn't understand why she was feeling so overwhelmed and lifeless until she saw a commercial on the tv broadcasting a motivational 6 week course called Inspired with an added benefit of a life coach to see her on the right path of reconnecting with herself again.

Perfectionism was something that was ingrained in Mia's being. It was a one-character trait that had led Mia down the path she'd been trying to control everything, but it also led her to hiring me.

Meeting her life coach Logan Woodland very much took her by surprise. He was nothing like what she expected. Instead of wearing business attire he rocked the surfer boy to a T. But strangely enough she found him overly attractive, and nothing like the usual type she'd normally go for.

I used to think my type was all suits and cuff links with their hair gelled back. Now, I believed I had a thing for the surfer look, sun kissed tan skin, and sandals instead of oxfords.

I am so glad that this is my first read for May, because it’s set the bar high for all the rest to follow. Admittedly I’ve not read many by this author as her toes normally dip into a genre I’ve not gravitated towards, so I was glad when I saw this doing the rounds.

This was so life like, a storyline which I could see unfolding in the outside world without implementing unneeded drama. An inspirational, unique storyline which I inhaled from the very first page until that last page read. I liked how the author set the pace, it wasn't rushed, their connection wasn't insta love it just flowed perfectly. It was so easy to get into. And I absolutely loved how this author also shared a little piece of herself with us the readers.

Getting down to the nitty gritty of my rating being 4 stars and not 5 was because I didn't feel that all consuming connection that I was hoping for between the hero and heroine, something just felt off. I felt more towards her assistant and herself and I was hoping once she'd regrounded herself that she'd gravitate towards him. But that's not how this story goes which I was bummed about but it still made for an enjoyable read.

description I always really enjoy this author's books, and this one was no different. It was well written. It was well paced. The plot was engaging, and I thought quite unique. It was relatively low angst. There was no OW or OM drama. There was a small cast of interesting secondary characters (I adored Jay). It had a bit of steam. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet little two years later epilogue.

description
Which brings us to our two main characters. One I thought made this entire book. The other left me feeling a little ambivalent. Mia by far was the shining light of this book. Her transformation through anxiety and depression to reconnect with her true self was just great to read about. She was such an open and kind heroine. Had a huge heart. Didn't back down and embraced everything Logan threw her way. She made this book a pleasure to read.

description
Logan's character on the other hand just left me feeling a little "meh." I wasn't feeling him at all for the first 50% of the book. His character felt bland. He didn't have that edge I really like my heroes to have. I found him boring. I actually felt Mia and Jay had more chemistry than her and Logan. Halfway through his character developed a little more depth, but I just never completely warmed up to him. Which is the sole reason this book gets 4 stars instead of 5.

Still, even with that issue this was a cracking good read. Two thumbs up from yours truly.

I've seen Jessica Florence's books on social media and Goodreads many times in the past, but for some reason, I never actually picked any of them up. Well, I'm glad I decided to take a chance on this one, because I ended up enjoying it. It's not the type of book I would typically read either which says a lot about the quality of writing. I certainly won't hesitate to pick up any of her books in the future.

Mia, a weathly hotel owner, has been going through a difficult time ever since she divorced her cheating asshole of a husband. Her friends and family are becoming extremely upset and concerned for her overall well being. Mia knows she needs to make a change, but she has no clue where to begin.

A perfectly timed television ad for a program called Inspired seems like the answer to Mia's prayers. A life coach is assigned to each person that joins, and Mia's just happens to be the hot, commitment phobic owner, Logan. As soon as the two of them meet, it's obvious that he is exactly what Mia needs to begin her journey to regaining her sense of self and happiness.

The pair have a chemistry that is obvious to everyone around them, including themselves. Logan tries to keep everything between him and Mia strictly professional, but the more time they spend together, the more that seems like an exercise in futility. Will they be able to keep their feelings of affection at bay, or are some attractions too powerful to ignore?

Inspired by Jessica Florence is a sweet, inspirational romance with two likable characters that you'll be rooting for from their first introduction. If you've ever gone through a dark or depressing time in your life, you may be able to relate to Mia's character. The author references her own experience with mental health in the back of the book, and it helped me to appreciate the story even more.

Contemporary romance fans that love a story with a positive message will enjoy this one!

FIVE STARS

As someone who has dealt with anxiety & depression for a majority of my life, reading has become my go to escape; and romance books have become my favorite genre.
Inspired is about Mia, a hotelier who has lost her love of life & can’t find her way out of the darkness. She hires Logan, a life coach, to help her learn to love life again. What I loved about Inspired is that while yes it’s a romance and you get all of the fun stuff that goes along with that, it’s mostly (for me) about Mia’s journey. Jessica has really knocked this book out of the park. I’ve always been a big fan of hers, but with this book I was drawn into her characters more than almost any other book. She did an amazing job at not just telling you how her characters are feeling but showing you how they’re feeling. And bonus! She has included so many great ways to help someone deal with their really anxious moments (breathing techniques, drinking water, etc.).
I know this book will be my go to whenever I’m feeling down in the future!

INSPIRED is an amazing read. The dedication in the book says "I started this book for me because I needed it. But I finished for you all because you guys might need it, too. This book is for us." I was like what does that mean but then I read this book beginning to end including the letter to the reader and I get what the dedication was saying now because I needed this book but I didn't realize it. This book inspired me, it gave me the little push I need to crack open that self help book (it's also one of the books Jessica mentions in the letter to the reader) I had sitting next to my laptop for months. It's always nice when a book hits close to home and you can take something personal from it.

Mia is a little lost in life. She had a marriage that fell apart. She run a successful hotel empire. Along the way she has lost her true self. She is a completely believable character. She signs up for a six week life coach program. Her life coach is Logan. He's down to earth. He has a successful business but dress life a surfer most of the time. I loved Logan. He was like a free spirit. With her work with Logan, we get to see a new Mia as she regains herself. I liked that Logan wasn't perfect either though. He's has his battles too. It was a reminder that we all stumble a little bit in life. I loved this story and Logan and Mia together were perfect. Also, I loved that Mia's sister shared a name with me.

This was my first Jessica Florence book, and I can’t wait to read more of her work. I appreciate the realness in which she wrote this book, touching on important issues such as depression and anxiety. This is something that a lot of us face in our day to day lives. Romance is my favorite genre, and this didn’t disappoint. I don’t want to spoil much seeing it isn’t released yet, but I highly recommend you give it a oneclick in a few days.

Inspired by Jessica Florence
Contemporary Romance. Standalone.
4.25 Stars

Jessica Florence has written a self-help book disguised as a romance novel. Or is it a romance novel and self-help book all-in-one? Well, I for one, always want to read self-help books, but never do because I would rather read romance, so with INSPIRED by Jessica Florence , I killed two birds with one stone. I both enjoyed the romance, and changed my way of thinking a bit as well!

"She looked tired, both mentally and physically. She also looked like a businesswoman, but beneath seemed lost, broken. A beautiful puzzle that I wanted to put back together. To bring this dazzling woman back into the light where she belonged. I was in this, but I needed to know if she was. Was Mia Moretti ready to be inspired?"

Mia Moretti is CEO of a luxury hotel chain. She had a marriage that fell apart, but she has a very successful career and that used to be more than enough. But now it isn’t. She is lost and kind of floundering. When she sees a late-night ad for a life-coach, she impulsively signs up for the 6-week program. What she doesn’t expect is the gorgeous, laid-back, surfer-looking Logan; her new life coach.

Logan is excited for his new client, but it’s going to be hard for him to keep it professional, especially after getting this warning from her assistant, Jay.
“If you aren’t ready for something truly beautiful in your life, then you might wanna guard your heart. You’re seeing Mia in her low, and when she finally shakes the mud off, you won’t even know you’re hers until it’s too late. She’s that true beauty inside and out that captures you in the best way. If you’re not ready for that, man, make a plan to get out of Dodge because you’re only going to hurt yourself and her. She doesn’t know it, but she wears her heart on her sleeve, a complete open book. You won’t be able to stop falling in love with her.”

Despite the feelings that begin to develop, Logan gives some great advice in his coaching.
Wounds don’t heal until you stop touching them. Same goes for mental wounds.” She did not like my answer. That was clear in the frown and deadpan look her eyes were giving me. “So, I just let it all go? That’s it? The key to my happiness is letting go of the bad shit?”

I am very negative about myself. An old friend gave me this advice, and Jessica reminded me of it in this book.
“Do you know what men find the most attractive about a woman?”...
“Confidence. A woman who knows she’s sexy is irresistible to a man.”

And this piece of advice couldn’t be more on-target for most of us:
“Social media is a poison to your mind. It creates a high, much like a drug’s effect, when someone likes your shit or comments. You want more and feel validated when people engage with you. Like you’re important. It also makes you compare your life with others. Their highlight reels to your behind-the-scenes. It’s all a lie, and you shouldn’t waste your life on it. You’ve got a real life to live, not that shit. Check in on people, do business, but then get the hell out of there.”

Before Mia was ready to move on she needed to love herself.
"People really didn't need another human to make themselves happy. Happiness came from within."

I so enjoyed seeing Mia change and grow throughout the book, and while I loved Logan, I kind of hoped that maybe Jay, her assistant, would be the one for her.

Likes:

•I love how Inspired actually inspired me to make some changes in my life. It’s actually one of the reasons it took me two weeks to review it. I decided to stop putting so much pressure on myself to review right away and enjoy my life and my family more.
•I liked how it was a great combo of self-help and romance without ever feeling like self-help.
•Jessica was very responsible in her approach. She never actually really gave advice, but encouraged the reader to explore further if needed.
•She touches on depression and anxiety.
•I really loved Logan’s attitude and spirit.
•It was a lovely journey of self-discovery both for the characters and the reader.
•The list of books, amazing quotes, and resources at the end.

Dislikes:

•I felt it was pretty inappropriate to have a relationship with a client, especially one so vulnerable.
•See the quote at the beginning of this review from Jay, her assistant? I would have actually liked to see him with Mia a little more, maybe even have had them be the couple in the end.

The Down & Dirty:
I really enjoyed Inspired by Jessica Florence. I liked how it was more than a romance, and it inspired me to treat myself better and spend more “me” time which I NEVER do. Jessica included some tips (via the story) on dealing with anxiety and other issues that may be holding you back from enjoying your life to the fullest. While Inspired was definitely a romance novel, I loved how she snuck a self-help book in there as well.

I honestly believe that books choose you at the right moment when you need them most and this book is definitely one of them. I was taking a break and not accepting arcs for a while now but after knowing what this book would be about I knew I had to read it.

Inspired is a relatable, light read. It's about, feeling lost, anxiety, depression, and so much more.
You might not relate to every single thing because everyone's problems, experiences and needs are obviously different. Still, it encourages self development, self care, healing and finding what works for you to become a better version of yourself. And for those already working on that, it's a reminder to why you're doing it and how it can truly help you and why it's worth it even when life keeps challenging you because it is easy to fall back into bad habits.

I really liked Mia and her family! I found myself invested in her process. You could notice how much she evolved and I enjoyed the entire process of her development. It took me time to warm up Logan and their relationship but that changed near the end. They're definitely good together and for each other.

This book was truly inspiring and I'll probably go back for a reread soon. I also loved Jessica's letter at the end of the book so make sure to give it a read too if you decide to pick this one up.
Mia and Logan might not be my favorite couple but Inspired is definitely my favorite Jessica Florence book yet.

I do hope Callum, Tate and maybe even Jay would get their own books because I loved them and can't get enough of them!

Loved this book! For anyone who has ever felt "off" from their normal selves, this is the book for you. It will help you see things in a new light and really reconnect with yourself. The characters are very relatable and their banter is cute and charming. For being a book that touches on heavy subjects, it's not a book that weighs you down. You truly will be left feeling your own sense of Inspired!

*This review contains no spoilers*

Beautiful and incredibly powerful: I believe this to be the most/more accurate way to describe this book.

In the beginning, when the author reached out to me and asked if I wanted to review an arc, I was tempted to politely declined for two main reasons: the first being that I already have a couple of other arcs to read and review and didn't want to commit and then not have the time this book deserve to do the same and secondly, because when I read the title, I assumed for some reason that it would be something that I usually wouldn't pick up to read myself; a raw, emotional book about various sensitive topics such as depression, sense of inadequacy and other deep and delicate matters.

And yes, I know it is terrible to literally and so quickly judge a book by its cover or title in this case, but sometimes it’s just an involuntary impulse that you can´t really control.
But then the blurb drew me in and I say “yes”. And I’m so freaking happy that I did.

Each moment of the story feels so very real it’s actually kinda scary: Mia embarks in this six-week journey of self discovery and you are along for the ride.
Everything hits home: every moment, every feeling, every emotion, every thought and every doubt. You can’t help but see even if a little bit of yourself in her, whenever she’s doubting herself, or questioning why all that she has doesn't seem to be enough.

An outsider would deem her life to be perfect: she is a beautiful woman, has more money that she can count, has built a successful career, comes from a loving and supportive family… And yet, she still feels… detached.

With the help of the “Inspired” program she will rediscover herself and what makes her truly happy.

And in comes Logan Woodland. Oh, I lost count of how many times this man made me swoon.
His sound, professional advices along with the personal touches and tiny details perfected just for Mia make this much more than a story of self-exploration and self-knowledge: it makes it a love letter to those who make you a better version of yourself just by taking the take to actually get to know you.

I love that we learn so much from Logan, not just through what it teaches to Mia but also from what we later see him go through.

I cried the entire time I was Reading and by the end, I felt like I actually had shed some skin and was feeling so much better about myself. It’s fascinating how learning that other people go through the sames things as you do makes you see the world differently: you’re not the only one going through this and that it's okay to feel lost sometimes. Because in the end, when we final find ourselves – and we will – it will all be worth it.

This was my first time Reading Jessica Florence and I’ll for sure be coming back.

This was a book that had alot of feelings most adults go through at some point in their life, but to be told in the way it was in this story, made me as a person who deals with burn-out and depression much happier. It was a well thought out, well written book that still had an sexy element to it. This book had me flipping the pages faster and faster hoping I was going to get the ending I wanted.

** ARC was generously provided by the author for an honest review.

I found it to be a slower paced read up until about the halfway mark, which by then things started progressing faster and I could finally get into the groove of Mia and Logan's relationship. So if you can handle a slower pace for half a book, then you're right for this one. Think of it as a rollercoaster ride - you start off slowly rolling higher and higher to reach the top and once it starts dipping back down over the other side you know it's going to be one hell of a fast-paced ride. Inspired was just that!

I admit I didn't get an immediate connection with Mia and Logan. I didn't see a spark between them so it was a little difficult to believe in the beginning when they both had similar thoughts on how attractive the other was. I just couldn't believe it.. at first.

Like I said the first half of the story is slow and it concentrated a lot on Mia wanting to improve with her life and Logan coaching her through changes. The romance didn't kick in until later and despite it being a contemporary romance (and not gonna lie a big reason why I was eager to read this) - to me this was more so a story to inspire. After having finished it the first thing that came to mind was that it was uplifting. Inspired was such an uplifting read.

I found that Mia's self-discovery and journey to emotional and mental healing, and the things that Logan taught her throughout the book is what I connected with the most. As someone who's been going through depressive states throughout my adult life, the things mentioned and said really resonated with me, and will most likely stay with me from this day forth.

Here are some of my fave quotes from the book that I found profound, powerful and made me truly think about my own life.

"People really didn't need another human to make themselves happy. Happiness came from within."

"The simple act of continuing when you feel like giving up is the bravest thing anyone can do."

"But forgiveness can't be rushed. It comes when you realize that you don't need that pain anymore. You'll forgive (him), and it'll be like you shed a dead part of yourself off. Wounds don't heal until you stop touching them. Same goes for mental wounds."

~~~~
Now let's talk about Mia and Logan's second chance at love.
Boy oh boy, I was waiting for something to finally happen and when it did it felt like an unexpected punch in the face. LOL. They went from being strictly professional, to starting to get comfortable around each other.. then BAM! 0 to 100 hot and heavy! :-D
I think I actually burst out in a snort-laugh at how shocked I was that after their first kiss (which I thought was totally inappropriate btw.. considering he was suppose to be her life coach) how quickly it escalated to them getting each other off.
Don't get me wrong - is was HOT kiss scene and it was at that moment where I was finally sinking into the story.. I didn't think their relationship would jump to that so quickly, but I suppose with nothing happening in the first half of the book, it had to happen sometime, huh? I immediately thought it was insta-lust/ insta-lust but as I kept reading, I enjoyed how their relationship progressed. Yes, it developed in a short amount of time but I (fiiiinally) felt that spark between them as the story went on.
Their relationship felt realistic and relatable and just so down to earth. I thought the events (both good and bad) that occured and the situations that resulted from them, and how they were eventually resolved felt convincing and organic. I think that's why I didn't come away from reading Inspired thinking "aww what a great second chance romance" (even though it was!) -- I mostly came away thinking "what an encouraging love story".
If I could say a couple of things I wasn't feeling as much, it would have to be Mia's "sometimes" weirdness. I cringed at some of the things she said - thank goodness it was only to herself but I had serious second-hand embarrassment for the girl. Logan had cheesy moments too but by then I was rolling my eyes. But hey, all in good fun. At least Mia knew she was weird. Hehe. I'm just glad it didn't last more than a few chapters.
I would've liked more character development and more details into each protagonists' back stories besides what was mentioned in conversation. I think it would've set the atmosphere a little better by seeing detailed events of their past so you can see the reasoning on how they got to be the way they are in the present.
I do however love the supporting characters. Mia's family and friend Jay. And ughhh.. Logan having Tate, Callum and awesome mama bear Tink. Their involvement made this book all the more enjoyable. The little jokes and teasing. The love and support. I loved it all! Bromance at its best! (Am I crazy in kinda wanting Tate and Callum to have their own love stories too?)
Before I wrap up this mish-mashed review. I have to mention the one moment in this book that totally and utterly took me by surprise that I'm thankful I wasn't eating or drinking anything at the time or I would've 100% choked..
The scene where Mia and Logan were doing yoga with the instructor. That moment with Mia and her... umm..embarrassing mishap... oh gosh! Had me in tears!
Read the book to find out what it was. It's a total unexpected crack up! And I can tell ya... I can relate! :-P
~~~~

As someone who goes through depressive states, reading Inspired couldn't have come at a better time for me. I recommend this to anyone who's had or having days like this where you don't feel like getting out of bed. This book is a great reminder we are not alone and will hopefully lift up your spirits.. at least for a little while.

Jessica, thank you for sharing this story and for using some of your own experiences as inspiration for it.

I don’t even know where to start with this review this book was everything and more it was beautifully written and just an amazing story and i think a book women need to read.

I loved what this story represented that someone can have a thriving career, have the most supportive family, just about have everything they could possibly want and still be depressed or not feeling themselves. This was Mia she was so lost in her life she just didn’t know how to love herself and just be happy. The one thing i truely believe that this author got right and that everyone wants to change but until you take those steps to implement those changes nothing will change and that’s what Mia has enough and wants to make that change and get her life back.

The thing i loved about Logan was that yes he had a career in life coaching and all that but what i loved was that he had been down a dark road and experienced being at your lowest so when Mia hired Logan you could understand why Mia was so comfortable straight away as he was similar to her. I loved also that Logans journey wasn’t over and that sometimes you will find your self in dark times but you get yourself out and i loved reading Logan’s story and getting back on top.

This story is just beautiful it’s really showcasing that as women we really need to know that we are worthy and that you can love yourself and that you really need to love yourself before anyone else can.

I must admit that when Logan would give Mia tips on how to handle situation or have her exercises i found my self doing them as well and i really got something out of this book besides an amazing love story there is so much more. Oh and of course some sexy time.

If you are looking for an inspiring read and something that will have all the emotions flowing and something that help make you feel better about your self then you need to read this book absolutely loved everything about it.

Jessica Florence just proves why she is an author that I will always read her books.

A big big five stars

”This was living. To know that you were afraid and choosing to do it anyway.”

As I sit down to write this review, I am legit in tears. And I have been for the last 20% of this book and I don’t see them stopping anytime soon.

I don’t even know where to begin other than mentioning Jessica poured every facet of her being into this book. Inspired was probably the rawest a piece artistry that literature could get. It wasn’t depressing and didn’t have controversial topics in it like most tear jerking reads do. No, Inspired is the pure definition of what we all wish to become. Which is the realest and truest selves we could possibly be.

I always pride myself in saying take a chance on a Jessica Florence Read because she’s different and just doesn’t care; she writes the books SHE wants to write no matter the fear of a certain outcome from her audience. And honestly, Inspired is no different. It will strip you down in the way a chemical peel would. It will reveal your true self to you and GOD just hearing that, typing that, KNOWING that gives me chills because well like Mia, I’m not perfect. But I know I can and will eventually uncover the best part of myself.

Just, thank you Jessica for writing this achingly beautiful piece of work. If y’all were to ever pick up a book by this author, PLEASE let it be this one. All of her work speaks for itself but this one, this one right here is the best part of Jessica Florence.

It touches on a very sensitive topic of depression in women. Maybe an onset of existential crisis or hormonal change, but it does effect your ability to function and you keep losing the urge to keep going. Things you enjoyed at one time, become  a chore and require an effort.
Mia is  one such high flyer and over achiever but she's stretched herself thin. Overcoming a disastrous marriage and dunking herself in work has brought her to a point that she's become emotional and detached
In steps Logan, the CEO of INSPIRED. He's a life coach, a motivational speaker and a salvager of drowning souls , in plain speak
Their journey together is catalogued in this book
This is my first book by Jessica and she's got a good plot and theme.
There's some scenarios and dynamics that seemed a bit unbelievable to me, but I'm an obsessive reader, too acute at times.
Please go ahead and read this steamy, sexy and sensitive book.

Gah. These words were amazing. I devoured this book and it was beautiful.  This book follows Mia and Logan and UGH. All the swoon with these guys. I related to Mia on SO many levels and Logan. Yessss.

I was completely drawn into these characters and their story. I read this entire book in one sitting and just couldn't stop. I want more!

We not only got the romance and a kick ass story, but Jessica included so much true life in this book that it completely recommend it to anyone who loved contemporary or self help romance styles as well. is that a thing? A self help books that is also a romance? I don't know, it should be.

Regardless of what you call it. this was a beautiful romance that I loved cover to cover. It has amazing research put into in in therms of anxiety and depression and it was just all the emotion and swoon.

Wow...just...wow

As some one who constantly battles with depression and anxiety this book was dead on to some of the feelings I seem have at some point. Sometimes it’s hard to read something that relates to you so much because it’s like a wake up call. But I was able to hold back some tears and get through it, and I’m so glad I did. This book did not disappoint and was truly inspiring. I would definitely recommend you read this book so you can be “Inspired” too!

Thank you so much Jessica. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Mia & Logan's story is Jessica Florence's passion project, and it's very inspiring!

I love the pacing & healing that takes place w/ these characters. The family dynamics, the way they lean on each other but don't RELY on each other for healing, if that makes sense; it all comes together in a beautifully written story! The author shares some of her personal journey through Mia & Logan, as well as giving them some super HOT moments. ; ) Good read!! : )

Thank you Jessica Florence for the opportunity to read it before its release. I am truly Inspired.
