A revision of his original book using extracts from the climbing teams diaries … which are a useful conceit in driving the timeline of this narrative, but like a metaphor for the ending of this expedition, it felt to me more was left undone than went into the book … all the bits were there, the idea, the pre planing the journey and the mountain, but it never really gave the insights I would have hoped and like some of the climbers and their goals, I was left frustrated that there could have been more …
