The author as resolved some inconsistencies that he had written in the first book, and finally we have a concrete view of who are the enemies. In Power Mage, it seems that there is a balance between Psi Mages that can't be broken and that if someone or a group unbalance the system something is done to correct it. That's what the Seeker lingo is telling me.
This is a really good story and I find myself liking the MC a lot, and the girls are awesome and hold their own, no trophy wives here.

Good instalment in the series. The group gets the hell out of Key West. Their goal is to make it to Miami so that Brawley can bond with a Carnal. He gets injured so much that he needs the power to heal that they can give him. Carnals are crazy though and the bond is for life, so they have to hope they find someone they can live with. At the same time the psi mafia is after them as well the the Order and now the FPI. There was one thing that bothered me in this story because it contradicted the setup in the first book.

Still pretty good
This one is a little meaner, but has a more diverse set of characters and more points of view.
The sex scenes get a little creepier too.

Cowboy up!
The author has really done a awesome job of depicting the way that bull rider's on the PBR are able to ignore pain and get back on the bull. The characters are interesting and fun to read about with the backstory of each of them being built up. Overall I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Great sequel to Power Mage!
This installment continues Brawley’s ascension to full Power Mage. Action on top of action ON TOP OF action, this series simply does not quit. Ever. Kinda saw the outcome for the Carnal strand coming, but still WAAAAY satisfying when it hit.
Just about every agency on the map, both fuggle ant Psi, are after Brawley and company. Some (most) for their own nefarious purpose. Others, hunting equally hard, for purposes as yet not clear. Everybody wants Brawley, dead or alive, and every step he takes endangers not only himself, but his beautiful and devoted wives. He’s wounded and hurting. He needs to open the strand that will help him heal when he needs it most. Finally opening that strand is the highlight of this very enjoyable book.
Buy this book. Buy the first one if you haven’t already. Whatever you do, though, don’t NOT read Power Mage.
Mr. Author - congrats and thanks/kudos on your work with this series. Simply riveting stuff. Cannot wait for the next installment. I, and your other devotees, expect new installments on a pretty regular schedule (what price, fame?) In return, we will shower your work with reviews. Understood, going in, that not every installment can be a blockbuster. But we DO expect your best effort with each one. So, standard contract between author and fans - author’s best effort = fans honest review of a beloved work. And honestly, this series is pretty awesome so far. All BS aside, ‘Thanks. Great job. REALLY enjoyed it, and looking forward to the next one’.

Awesome second book
Well, I read the first book, which I enjoyed; through Unlimited and while normally I use it for these types of books, I decided to take risk and pre-ordered this one.
It was a good investment.
It was an awesome second book. Though I will admit that it felt shorter then the first one, but then again I read it faster the first book, so maybe it felt shorter for that reason.
Of the new girl in the group, Remi, I really enjoyed her character.
Though the cat girl, I hope in the next book hope she gets more viewing since her character felt bland.
Still, in the end, it was a great novel and I am officially convinced. Will pre-order the next book when it's available.

This one was just as corny as the first book. The story was good and very entertaining. I like Brawley as the main character. I didn’t want to stop reading. These are all qualities that would normally make this 5-stars. But I thought this one was just a little too vulgar for me. Reading about violence and gore doesn’t really bother me. Sex doesn’t bother me. But when you combine violence, gore, and sex into the same scene - well that must be the line that you have to cross to make me uncomfortable. And even though I think the author did it on purpose and wanted the reader to feel that way, some scenes were just a little too much. For over-doing those scenes the penalty is 1 Star.
(But I’m still pumped for the next book to come out!)

A favourite of mine
Really enjoyed this book, read it all In one day during my lunch break, while on the way home (wasn’t driving) during dinner and while watching a football match. This is currently one of my favourite book series. Keep up the good work and the great quality of the storyline. The MC gets another girl to open a new magic thread, hopefully we will see more of what he can now do with that new power.

Brawley is looking for another wife. A carnal to be exact. He needs to gain the powers of healing, strength, and speed. He finds more than he expected, as many women propose sex and bonding, but they are not compatible with his ideals. He finds what he needs with someone he never expected. On the side he takes a young cat girl under his protection. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to another book.

Good but needs to be less rushed
The book is good and the fighting flows like it should but the author rushed the book that lead to small mistake.If he took a little more time he should have done a bit better.He even caught the truth of the South very simply that's how it be down hear.

Hondo has created a world here that is extremely engaging, and engrossing. The magic system is unique, and I love the way the harem is being built. Each character is getting their chance sunshine and the pacing of the story of addictive. I must have more. This cowboy rocks!!!

Powermage, stunning read.
The first book was good, this one is great. Bradley gains another wo.an and wipes out, well you'll have to read it to see for yourselves. A read that left me breathless and wanting more. The ending was totally unexpected and awesome. Great work Hondo, great work.

Loved it
Loved it. Can't wait for the next one. But the MC was more stupid than a rock in this one. Go to an enemy den, break off from your team, then piss off the leader? How about don't go in the first place....duh. oh but you had to because...spoilers...still did not have to go inside.
Anyways, can't wait for the next book.

Woo boy
Wow. This book has it all. Fighting, fornicating and a whole lot more fighting. Really great book. So great that I know that when this series is done am going to buy the whole thing since it’s just that good. Can’t wait to see what new strand the power mage opens next and what cool new powers he unlocks.

Nicely Done
Book 2 expands on everything and gives us a tiny bit more of the world, and personal history. We meet new characters and kill the annoying ones. We also get new abilities and explosively rank up. All in all a nicely done story, and I’m watching to see where book 3 will take us.

More fun and power
This is an interesting series and a lot of fun. Opening channels.. And thighs. Lol. Still there is a lot of potential left and the overarching plot is not fully emerged yet. The MC is a no bull, bull riding coyboy. He has honor and testosterone, something lost in IRL these days. I am enjoying his romp for survival and power up. Look forward to more.

Honda has come up with a fresh premise for this series, and I’m liking it even more than his Dan the Barbarian series. Looking forward to the next of the series coming out. Guessing I have a month’s wait. Damn.

A great harem/lit series
If you like harem/lit then Hondo Jinx is one of best authors in the genre. This second entry in the Power Mage saga is fast paced and he makes you care about the characters. After finishing it, I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series

Dang, what an ending
I love how you pace these books and put so much development into the plot line to get to the conclusion. Not only was it slightly unexpected, but getting to see the big baddy makes you wonder how Brawley will stand a chance.

Sequels better than the original are pretty rare in my experience. But this was. I thoroughly enjoyed the further adventures of this modern day cowboy.
