The Darkest Hour...
A year after the death of his two closest friends, Sheriff Gordon Bredenbury must relive the events of that fateful day.
Long Valley is flooding under weeks of persistent rain, spreading his deputies thin and himself on edge.
When the DePalmo paper mill explodes and burns, a stranger arrives in Yona County. Known only as The Gunfighter, he is a hired assasin, and he has come to finish the job others have failed: Kill the sheriff, and find something that was lost.
When tragedy strikes more than once, Gordon must choose to live the life he has led, with integrity and honor, or follow a
different path, one which may well end in murder.
