Trying to lose your virginity at a New Year’s party isn’t the best plan. The only things worse? When the guy turns you down but you still have to work with him.
I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but here goes. My name is Emmie and I’m a virgin. I know what you’re thinking. How could a twenty-eight-year-old woman who runs her own company not have turned in her V-card by now? While I won’t go into details about it right now, I will admit that I’ve been a bit busy with work. Time flies when there’s a media empire to build. But I decided this year to make things right. A new year’s resolution. To find someone to make me a woman before the clock strikes twelve. It’s all going to plan. I find the hottest guy at the party. He is more than willing to come up to my bedroom. Then I make the mistake of trying to kiss him. Not only did I not pop my cherry, but I can’t ever look Jon in the eyes again.
Hi, I’m Jon. The one Emmie tries to seduce on New Year’s. Things are still a bit fuzzy about that night, but I do remember Emmie. She’s beautiful and knows what she wants. Emmie is a guy’s wet dream. She’s my wet dream. I’m in control of my life. I run a successful company with my sister and work hard to do things right. I make sure things get done right without a hair out of place. But when I’m around Emmie it’s as if I met my match. My work suffers and everything I do is wrong. I should walk away from her. Tell her I want no part in her life. The trouble is whenever I leave, I can’t stop thinking about her. I’m ready to let her take control of my heart but what if she doesn’t want it?
Mogul (Price of Fame #3) is about Jon (Hunter's agent) and Emmie (Willa & Nikki's best friend). I was looking forward to reading about these two after meeting them in the earlier novellas. A romantic comedy with a wait-and-see attitude, topple with heap of misunderstandings. I love the characters in this series and the relationship between Emmie, her sister Issa and their mother was too funny. A swift, fun & sensual read.
This is a standalone that is also part of Price of Fame series and it features Jon (Hunter's agent) and Emmie (Willa and Nikki's best friend).
Jon is a total type A, always in control of every aspect of his life. Everything he does goes well because he don't let his emotions get in the way. Emmie is confident in her line of work. She is hardworker and she knows what to do professionally.
They've been around each other for a while now, but when their ways finally crash, he starts to realize that loosing some control might be exactly what he needs, and she figures that he is the one she should indeed give herself to.
It was fast paced, sweet and funny, full of sexy moments, misunderstandings and emotional growth for both of them.
Oh my what a hilarious RomCom. Having read the first 2 books in this series, I just knew Emmie’s story was going to be a wild one and trust me when I say the author did not disappoint me. Emmie’s story lived up to everything I thought it would be and then some. Kudos to the author for a fun, flirty, sexy read that kept me smiling and laughing throughout.
Emmie is a workaholic. She has spent all her time becoming a successful business woman and building her empire. The trouble with that is she has totally neglected her private life to the point she is now a 28 year old virgin. But this is her year. She has decided to find a random guy at the New Years Eve party and lose her v-card. Jon is the perfect candidate. He’s successful, funny, gorgeous and just want Emmie is looking for. But when the night goes sideways due to too much alcohol, Emmie is left totally embarrassed, still a virgin, and wondering how in the world she will ever face Jon again. As for Jon he doesn’t remember much about New Year’s Eve except for Emmie. To Jon she is everything that fantasies are made of. But for some reason everytime he gets around Emmie things go haywire. But he is determined to make it right. But the hilarity continues every time Emmie and Jon are in the same room.
This is a must read series in my humble opinion. While all three books can be read as standalones, suggest reading them in order as their friendship and stories overlap. I highly recommend this sexy, funny romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud at Emmie and Jon’s antics and banter. 2 Thumbs up and 5 Stars.
Oh Emmie, oh Jon! Elizabeth Lynx has done it again, and this third novel in the Price of Fame series has been absolutely amazing! I knew I’d be laughing, that I’d be smiling, that I’d be wanting to reach into my Kindle and shake some shoulders, that I’d be sighing, and that I’d fall irrevocably in love with these characters. Reader, let me tell you, all of that happened, and so much more! Mogul tells us the story of two workaholics, and how their lives collide, whether they’re ready for it or not, and the different scenarios that they find themselves in never ceased to make me giggle and swoon in equal parts! Emmie is a sweetheart and super skilled, and still the not-always-so-proud owner of her ‘v-card’, and Jon perhaps is perhaps too much of a stickler for his own rules, even to his own detriment. With a full contingent of a fabulous supporting cast full of characters from the other novels in the series, you get a wonder glimpse into their lives, and also continue to see how each and every one of them fits perfectly into this chaotic world that Elizabeth has created! I’ve been wanting Jon’s story, wanting to see beneath his stoic façade, and wanting more of Emmie’s general goodness, and I got a deliciously bountiful serving of that in Mogul! Through twists and turns and from broom closets to office desks, Mogul is a witty and quirky story that left me happy, offering me the perfect little scape after a long day. I know it’ll offer you the exact same feeling!

READ AN EXCERPT OF MOGUL “You want me to go into that small dark room with you?” He nodded and his mouth fell open as if he wanted to say something but then hesitated. “It’s about the joke, isn’t it? I’m sorry. It was stupid. Trust me, I’ve been kicking myself about it ever since.” Jon took a step toward me and I felt the heat of his body as there wasn’t even an inch between us. He leaned toward my ear and his hot breath fluttered my hair over my cheeks. “You need to stop thinking and start doing. Let me do the thinking for you.” His fingers tightened for only a moment before he let go. My head had a harder time with that than the broom closet. How could Jon squeezing my hand cause my core to clench? And I could tell my panties were wet, too. “Are you going to lock me in there?” I clasped my hands in front of my crotch as if he could see the effect he was having on me. One corner of his mouth curled and there had never been anything so sexy on a man. “No, of course not, Emmie. I’m going in there with you.” Why was my heart pounding harder in my chest? “Okay . . .” I said and went willingly inside a small dark room with a man I didn’t know that well. These were the types of bad decisions my sister made, not me. And yet, I wanted to be inside the room with him. My clit pulsed, and I glanced around the dark broom closet. It wasn’t sexy and most likely, a little dirty but something about this whole scenario was crazy hot. He stood in the doorway and stared at me. “I thought you said you were coming in here with me?” Jon smirked and stepped inside, closing the door and turning on the light switch. He placed his hands behind his back like a teacher about to give me a lesson. And as he stepped forward, I noticed his eyes darkened to slate. Was he going to kiss me? I hoped so. I’d get down on my knees and pray to every god that ever existed if it helped get the man’s lips on my mouth. Perhaps if I pretended to pass out, he’d administer mouth to mouth? It worked in the movies. “Have you ever had an orgasm, Emmie?”
Emmie is an amazing woman who runs her own company, takes care of her mother, but has yet cashed in her V-card. This is where Jon comes in, though he seriously messed it up at a New Year's Party, since he finally let loose for once, and got hammered. So, Emmie is humiliated, thinking he rejected her, while he has no clue if they did or didn't. This leads to a very frustrating push & pull as neither seems to actually have it together, and communication isn't really their thing yet. They have some amazing sparks, and it finally does lead to sexy times which sets her desk on fire, and yet, more miscommunication issues come about AGAIN! I'm #TEAMEMMIE, and totally had her back, so I really wanted to choke Jon out once or twice. Did I mention how some of the interactions had me rolling in laughter?! Or even the inner monologue of Emmie, yeah, she was hysterically funny, along with her pervy sister, and devout mother. Mogul is a short(ish) story which packed a big punch, but for me, I just needed a slightly bigger ending, as this one seemed a tad rushed. Anyway, in order to find out how it all panned out, one click to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I've been waiting for Emmie's story since the beginning of this series and this one did NOT disappoint! I will admit that I was shocked that Emmie was still a virgin, but hey, she had a media empire to build, so the girl's got her priorities in order. Of course she's ready to get rid of that V-card, but who knew it could be a bit difficult to get rid of?
It's obvious there's plenty of chemistry between them, and as far as their jobs, they're both above board and professional, but when it comes to their personal interactions? Uncomfortable and tense, with a healthy dose of sexual tension is brewing. Emmie's feeling insecure about whether Jon is attracted to her, simply because she's the not type he's normally seen with. Add in the fact of what went down at the New Year's Eve party and you've got a recipe ripe with disaster. All mixed together with assumptions each is making about the other and you're left two people you want to shake some sense into; at least that's how I felt with these two lol.
I was happy to see them get themselves put together like the successful business moguls they are, and I thought this was a great way to wrap up this series.
We met Emmie and Jon in Idol and saw them again in Star. Well, Mogul is their story, FINALLY! Emmie is a strong, career driven woman. She lives with her mom and sister but that doesn’t mean she’s not independent and doesn’t go after what she wants.
Jon is an agent that doesn’t have time for a relationship other than “friends with benefits”. His career is priority and dating’s not in his vocabulary.
Emmie and Jon share the same friends and can’t help but being at the same places, at the same time. So, when they celebrate New Year’s Eve with their friends, Emmie is ready to finally turn in her V Card and who better than the handsome, sexy agent who looks at her like he’s ready to eat her up. Jon is ready to make his move with Emmie but when he finds out what she’s ready to offer him, will he man up and take it or will he be a coward and run?
Fun, fast and oh so flirty! Grab the entire series!!!
This book was funny, steamy and touching. The characters were well developed and the story was well written.
Emmie is a business mogul who is looking to punch her v-card. At her New Year's Eve party she asks Jon to have sex with her and when they get to her bedroom he passes out drunk. They have an awkward encounter at a restaurant and he tells her he wants to have sex with her. After she tells him about her lack of experience he panics. He soon changes his mind and they go at it like bunnies in her office and his place. He gets jealous when he sees her on a date and they decide to try dating. He has never really dated or been in a romantic relationship. He saves her from a bad situation and they declare their love and decide to elope. They invite their friends and family to their elopement and get their HEA.
This book is the third in this series and can be read alone but is better if they are read in order. Jon has been a jerk through the first two. He comes off as an uncaring agent only concerned about his immediate friends. Nothing could be further from the truth but since he must protect his clients, it really seems that way. Emmie is the owner of her own company that is branching out into new endeavors including one that makes shows and movies. She hasn't had time for a personal life. Including an intimate relationship. She throws herself at Jon but is disappointed in the result. I enjoyed this couple. They do things in a very unconventional way. Their commintment to each other is only physical, no emotions allowed. Some where along the way it changes. The struggle with those changes is where I felt both characters had the most growth.

With this one, Elizabeth Lynx wrote such a smoking hot novella. I adored the characters’ interactions, blunt and straight to the point. A bit disconcerting to me in the beginning and it was a bit abrupt because we went quickly to the point, and somehow just a little development would have been great but still once you get into their story you totally understand. Jon used to be in control of his life, until a curvy brunette with her witty ways and charms put him under her spell without really trying. This successful agent was always up for a challenge and what started with a strong connection turned into something more. Emmie never had time to find a balance between work and her love life, until she decided to make a move on Jon who was so clueless about her lack of experience firsthand. It’s been a crazy ride, full of firsts for the both of them and I enjoyed it. So much!
Jon is an agent for a few friends of his and his sister is part of the agency that he started up. He knows what he wants and when he wants it. Emmie is a business woman that has her own business for a production agency. Emmie had a party and had all her friends and family come. She wants one thing on this New Years. To get rid of her virginity. Being 28 years old and still having it made her feel wrong, but she’s always had a little crush on Jon. So, she thought he would do it, but lots of drinking and miscommunication has played a fact. Will Emmie be a virgin forever or will she meet some one. Have to read this great book.
Even though i haven't read the 2 books that come before this one, i was completely satisfied with this book. I love rom-coms and this book is now one of my favorites. The characters were awesome and the book is easy to read/follow. Elizabeth Lynx had me laughing thru from beginning to end and i stayed up late at night because i didn't want to put my kindle down. I can't wait to read more by this author and I'm planning on reading the first 2 novels in this series. If you're looking for a comical, sexy read, i highly recommend this book.
This was a cute little book. It’s Emmie and Jon’s story. Jon is a typical type A person. He has to be in control and he has to win. Emmie is the perfect profession with a successful business but is a doormat in her personal life. Getting these two together is a mess. We have two strong personalities butting heads professional, dirty dealings, a nosy domineering mother, a “perfect” sister, 2 great bffs and hot steamy scenes.
This was a fun-filled, fast-paced captivating read, a modern day rom-com telling us the story of Emmie a 28yr old virgin and Jon the man who she’s hoping will soon rectify that "situation". When you add in Emmie’s two friends, her mum and sister there’s plenty of laugh out load moments that will have you entertained throughout, as well the chemistry between the two main protagonists there’s mishaps, misunderstandings and a little angst throughout.
Join Emmie and Jon as they try and figure out their feelings towards one another, if you like a story that’s hot, humorous and straight to the point then this one’s for you, I highly recommend you one-click you won’t be disappointed.
I have quickly fallen in like with author Elizabeth Lynx. Her characters are not always conventionally sexy, but their hint of neuroses that make them endearing. Mogul takes a light hearted approach to some serious baggage. Emmie has everything together when it comes to business, but it's the personal element of her life that tends to spin itself out of control. Jon is her worst mistake and her best regret. Can she let down her guard long enough to let love into her heart? Mogul cast a spell on my heart with a charm that will have you forgetting the heavy stuff and enjoying the humor instead.
Mogul was everything I expected and more. I giggled so mjch itvwas sexy and sweet and throughly entertaining. Emme is a 28 year old virgin who decides new years eve is the day too devirginize herself. Jon is sexy and everything she could want for her first but he tells her no even after she stripped naked and crawled around like a lioness.. yep she did that... But even after that embarrassing situation they cant keep from coming together. A short but amazing story. Im still laughing about him smelling. ...
Throwing herself at Jon on New Year's Eve and getting rejected doesn't help Emmie's self esteem but when Jon resurfaces with his attraction crystal clear and a proposition that will "benefit" them both but also create some problems along the way. Emmie's virginity and Jon's commitment issues actually makes their story more interesting. Great series with sexiness and great hook-ups. I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review.
Wonderful and funny romance with endearing moments. Jon is an agent who works hard to get clients for movies or shows. Emmie built a media empire but lacked a social life. She's had a crush on Jon but she's a 28 year old virgin who chose Jon. Well he's attracted to her until he hears the word "virgin". The story gets steamy. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Lynx.
This book had me in tears laughing!!! This is my first book by Elizabeth Lynx, but obviously, I have been missing out! I can not wait to go back and read all of her past work! Emmie and Jon had me going through the emotions!!! Emmie had it all together except her personal life. Jon is one who has to be in control of all situations. The play on each other was fun to read about and fall in love with.
This is Emmie and Jon's story and boy is it a good one!! Sexy, push and pull, funny, drama and finally realizing what you have is what you need is all of the goodness you get with this rom-com read. Great writing and an easy read that has you reading from start to finish and not wanting to put your book/kindle down until your done. I love Elizabeth Lynx's writing style and haven't read anything of hers that I didn't absolutely love.
I enjoyed reading Emmie and Jon's story. This pair was comical. They were a match made in heaven. I found Emmie was great at sticking her foot in her mouth often. This couple was electrifying together. Jon never expected to ever find the one. Emmie turned his world as he knew it upside down. These two character's find their HEA. I found each heroine funnier then the previous book in the, Price of Fame series. I love Elizabeth Lynx sense of humor in her books. Each story can be read as a standalone, without needing to read any of the other books in this series.
Story of two discoveries Very good romance, very well written with two characters encountered in previous books. I loved their story, but which is finally most tender and complex that I expected. Emmie is a successful entrepreneur, but her only point of regret is that she is still a virgin at 28. She decides to seduce Jon, a celebrity agent, but drunk on New Year's Eve, he pushes her away and forgets everything. However, as soon as they meet again, the attraction he has for her reappears and leaves Emmie panting, but intrigued by the promise he makes for an appointment the next day. I liked that in this story, all the heroes discover something about them, whether it's the virgin Emmie or the "not dating" bachelor, Jon. The whole story is about what they discover and how they react to it.
This is book three in the series and I personally think you need to read them in order as not only do you have reoccurring characters but also some small overlapping of stories. Both Jon and Emmie have been in the previous two books, but it's this one where we really get to know them - and they're not completely who we thought! I loved the layers these two had and the rom com of their relationship. I really liked them as a couple and how they could be both strong and vulnerable with each other. I enjoyed the ending but would have loved an epilogue! Will their sisters get a HEA? I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.
Mogul is such a fun, laugh your socks off, sexy read. I love that we get Emmie's story. You watched each of her besties fall in the first 2 books and now it's Emmie's time. I love the fumbling between Emmie and Jon. You feel the attraction between them from the start and just hope these two can get it right. Even after a few hiccups Emmie and Jon are fabulous together. You will love the dynamics of Emmie and her family. This book is so amazing. I loved ever moment of Mogul. I can't get enough of what Elizabeth Lynx brings to romcom.
A cute and funny rom-com in the Price of Fame series. This is Emmie and Jon's story.
Emmie is best friends with Willa and Niki and Jon is Willa and Hunter's agent. We got a bit of a sneak peek of them at the end of Niki and Tucker's book and I couldn't wait for Mogul to get their full story. Emmie owns her own business and has always put her work first. Jon is a type A male, always in control. Their relationship was a bit of a hot mess, but all came together at the end.
I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!! Emmie and Jon's story is so entertaining to read. Their attraction is instantaneous and combustible. Emmie's profesional life is in order but her personal one is in disarray and in need of help. Fun, charming, captivating can best describe this story. I honestly volunteered to review the arc.
What a fantastic ending to a fantastic series!! These books are hilarious with the perfect amount of heat and sweetness. I loved reading about Jon and Emmie and I can't wait to read more from Mrs. Lynx!!
Thank you to the author for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was Emmie and Jon’s story that we met in the previous two book. The chemistry between these two was explosive and the awkwardness was humorous. For two such strong, professionals they had a rough time at the relationship level. There was lots of misunderstandings and laugh out loud dialogue. I enjoyed reading this novella immensely and recommend it!
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
