A movie star moves next door. A disabled veteran minds his own business watching a rather loud *ahem* movie in his bedroom. What happens when she gets fed up with the noise by breaking into his place only to discover him in his birthday suit?
Hi. I’m Niki Sargeant. The actress mentioned above. No, that’s not a movie pitch I plan to show producers. It’s my life. I recently became Hollywood’s it-girl and moved into a swanky condo. When I hear a woman screaming rather loudly from my new neighbor’s home, I’m concerned. Breaking into his condo seems like a good idea at the time, at least that’s what my friends tell me. I realize it’s a mistake once he appears in the living room with no clothes on. Yet, I can’t keep my eyes off him.
Did Niki say she broke into my place over concern about a woman screaming? Let me tell you the truth. I’m Tucker Six, former Marine, the current head of a tech firm, and a mysterious loner. Maybe not a loner or mysterious but I am where it counts. Wait, that didn’t come out right. Let’s start over. There is only one reason Niki broke into my home, my body. I won’t lie. I’m cut and the coolest person within a five-mile radius. I can’t blame Niki for wanting me. But I have a problem. She obviously wants me for my body but I wanted her heart.
I was excited to know about Tucker since Idol (first book in the series), and I loved seeing him again.
This is the story of Tucker (Hunter's brother) and Nikki (one of Willa's best friend). He is a veteran that's seen and lost a lot, and she is an aspiring actress.
As you can expect from this author (and I think I've said before), this is a light and really sexy book that amde laugh even without me realizing I was doing so.
Tucker says and does things you could never imagine. He is insane but also refreshing, he is witty, ironic, funny, but he's also vulnerable and always keeps people at arm's length.
Nikki is used to please people at every turn, but she's also genuine and she's looking for something that could truly make her happy. Even if that "thing" is an insane guy set on driving her crazy.
They both had issues to deal with, and it took Tucker a wake up call to make him realize he was being a pain in the buttocks just to protect himself.
But when they both let go of their issues, things turn so amazing and undeniable.
This book was on the shorter kind, and there were some things a little rushed, but I totally enjoyed myself and I can't wait to see what Emmy and Jon have up in their sleeves.
I was sitting in my wheelchair since I’m a wounded veteran. I was naked, minding my own business listening to porn at top volume in the privacy of my bedroom when my dream came true. Three beautiful women broke into my home. I knew them. One dating my brother and the other two were her friends. Total foursome, right? But that’s not what I wanted to happen. There was only one, the sexy blond actress, that I hoped would stay. But she left when my brother’s girlfriend pulled her away. I knew my destiny in life when she walked out that door. That I made sure my porn dream came true and made her my star.
A naked man. A woman’s voice was exclaiming from the background how her mouth was horny. And me, breaking into the man’s home to film him. Sounded like the start of terrible porn. Only, it wasn’t an adult movie. It’s my adult life. I’m Niki Sargeant, Hollywood’s new “It” girl. If the world found out how I attempted to meet my new neighbor illegally, I was sure my career would end. I wanted to hide my face and avoid him forever, but I couldn’t because my new neighbor wouldn’t leave me alone.
READ AN EXCERPT OF STAR
Pushing on my wheels, I came to a stop on the other side of the couch. “I know you are there. You might as well stand up and get the humiliation over with now.” “If we don’t get up, he can’t have us arrested,” one of them stage-whispered. “Do you even know the law? Of course, I could have you all arrested. You broke into my home.” “Technically, we used your key. It’s right outside your door on that small table, under the plant. If we really analyzed the situation, you practically invited us inside,” one of the women said and her voice sounded familiar. What she said sounded like something I would come up with. I had to give her credit for that piece of word craft. “I commend you on putting that together, but the law would disagree with you.” “Shit. Sorry, Emmie, Niki. I tried.” “Willa! You just used our names. What happened to using code names?” “You all realize I can hear everything you say, right?” “This is ridiculous. I’m standing,” one of them said while the others pleaded with her to stay down. The air left my lungs when she emerged. The soft curls of her platinum blond hair looked like a halo that framed her face. Her long, dark lashes dusted her cheeks, and I imagined her down on her knees sucking me off, her lashes almost tickling my cock. That image brought me to her thick, red lips, which were currently in an O-shape. She was surprised and embarrassed but for a moment, I imagined she was like the woman in the porno with the horny mouth. Her cheeks darkened and I suspected it wasn’t due to breaking into my home. It was because we knew each other. “Oh, uh . . . hi, Tucker. So, this is your place? It’s nice.” “Tucker?” Willa said and stood. “Oh, shit.” She turned her back to me. “You need to cover yourself. You can’t be pointing your torpedo at us like that!” “What?” the final female said as her head lifted over the edge of the couch. It was Emmie Delarosa. I knew Willa Jones as she was my brother’s girlfriend, but the other ladies I had only met once. We met when Willa drew penises around my brother’s car and threatened to call the cops on him. That was a fun day. I remember trying my best to impress the ladies by going along with them. Was I selling my brother out? Yes. But come on, they were all hot, especially Niki Sargeant who looked like a mix of Marilyn Monroe and Kate Upton. “Emmie, stay down. That thing may go off at any moment. We can’t afford a casualty,” Willa said placing her hand on Emmie’s head and pushing her down gently. Glancing down, I was shocked, too. Not that I was naked—I knew that part—but that my cock was at full attention. “Now you come to life? I downloaded the dirtiest porn I could find and nothing. But three women break into my condo and you get hard . . . Wait, oh, I get it. Never mind, Little Me, you’re working A-OK.” I gave it a wink. I would have fist-bumped it but that would be weird, even for me. “How did I not know you lived here?” Willa asked with her back still toward me. My eyes kept bouncing between her and Niki. Emmie was back to hiding behind the couch, but Niki had yet to turn or close her eyes. Every time I glanced at her, she quickly averted her gorgeous blue eyes and my dick loved it. She was pretending not to stare at me, but she wasn’t very good at it. I heard Niki was an actress. She must not be good if she couldn’t pretend to keep her eyes off my buff, slightly broken, body. “Because you’re too busy boinking my brother to visit. Besides, I’m not really the social type but since you ladies are here, I could try to come out of my shell,” I said with a wink at Niki. “No offense, Tucker, while a guy with a big dick is my thing, I’m rather faithful to your brother,” Willa said. “I get that. I may be an asshole, but I’d never do that to Hunter. So, that just leaves you ladies. You obviously were attracted by the female mating signal I sent out—at least enough to break in. So, should we just—” I was cut off by Emmie’s squeal as she raced to the front door. That woman could move. She was a blur and before I knew it, there was only Willa with her back still facing me and Niki. “So, no threesome. That’s cool. It would be confusing with so many arms anyway.” I stared at Niki who had finally brought her eyes to mine. They were like looking at the sea for the first time—refreshing and breathtaking and I never wanted them to turn away. “Tucker. There will be no sex with Niki tonight. She’s coming with me.” “Can I watch?” Willa finally turned. “You’ve got problems. Now go back to your porn and for God’s sake, turn it down.”
Oh my dear lord…for those of you who read the first book in the series Idol..hang on to your boots! The second book in the series is even better! This time it is Tucker Six and Niki who has a story! Niki is a rising star who finally receives the recognition she deserves. Tucker is Hunter Six’s brother. Tucker, a former Marine, lost a part of one of his legs while on tour to an IED. Niki happened to move next door to him and no one knew this. One night, Willa, Emmie, and Niki get roaring drunk and decide to film their neighbor who they thought was either filming a porn or having wild fun with someone. Turns out they were busted by Tucker in his birthday suit~ Oh readers…you are in for some MAJOR hijinks with this book! Ms. Lynx brings hilarity to a whole other level with the antics of Tucker. At one point, I spit my drink out everywhere and was choking and laughing at the same time! All I can say is…I will NEVER look the same at basket gifts again!!! Also, there is a secret about Niki no one else knows about that only Tucker will handle! Someone is also out to try and force Tucker into selling his business…but what will happen? Trust me pick up this series ASAP so you can have a boatload of laughs and two great stories to read in the series! I received this book as an ARC and am writing a voluntary review.
I enjoyed reading Star, the second book in Lynx's new series. There are carryover characters from Idol (book 1) and while it may be helpful in character understanding, Star can be read as a stand-alone. Tucker and Niki are both putting on a brave face for the world. They portray themselves as confident, strong individuals, when inside they are both lonely, broken and frankly miserable. Tucker, a discharged marine, is immediately taken by Niki, but repeatedly does inappropriate things to ensure that his true feelings are protected (not willing to subject himself to being hurt further). Niki, a newly minted famous actress, finds that even with the ultimate career high within her grasp, she is unfulfilled and isolated. Tucker, her new neighbor, brings out the woman that had been long supressed. However, Tucker's behavior is just too much!
Can Tucker come to terms with himself (and his actions) before he looses Niki for good? Will Niki sacrifice her happiness to achieve stardom, or will her past leave her with nothing?
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest, unbias review.
This book was hilarious from start to finish and I pretty much laughed the entire time I was reading. There's no denying there's plenty of chemistry between Tucker and Niki, but there are a couple of obstacles that could prevent them from a HEA. Tucker's housewarming gift to Niki was hilarious, but also a bit cringey at the same time, especially if she was easily someone who could be easily offended. They've both got issues from their pasts that have left them hesitant when it comes to feelings and emotions, especially Tucker, and I was surprised by who, in a nutshell, told him about the self-sabotage and how to get himself together. Even more surprising was the results after that discussion. Niki's ex managed to stir up some drama and potential controversy, but it wasn't addressed as to why he chose to do what he did so that left me a bit confused about his overall role in the story, but it was still an entertaining read and I'm looking forward to reading Emmie's story next.
If there is one book to read it is this one for all you romcom lovers out there. Trust me when I say you will just love this one. Star is sexy and a laugh out loud so hard read that you won't want to put down. Tucker, he had me in stitches. I love his lack of filter. He will make you laugh out loud so hard. He steals this one. Niki, she is amazing. I love how she sees Tucker just as Tucker. The chemistry is amazing. I love just how well they fit together. I love that we still get a little Willa and Hunter in this one too. I so can't wait to find out more about Emmie and Jon after this one. Tucker and Niki are officially my favorite couple as of now. Of course, I say this with every Elizabeth Lynx books. She is my one-click go-to author when I need a romcom that just makes me feel so heart full and happy. I always leave her books with a tear-streaked face from laughing so hard and a huge smile on my face. Go one-click this one.
Star (Price Of Fame #2) is a hilarious romantic comedy novella about a actress and a disabled veteran who just happen to be new neighbors. Tucker Six is my favourite character in this series and his book didn't diminish that, I just loved him more. This book is even better than the first book. Tucker's antics in this book are so comical. He is amusing, epochal, double-edged yet witty also. I love the friendship between the girls Emmie, Nikki, Willa. Serious moments splashdown the pages of this light and flirtatious read. I love how it ended. Looking forward to reading the next novella in this series which is Emmie's romance, whose character I loved.
Star never claims to be something it's not. Tucker and Niki have that "It" factor. Lynx went for the steamy approach, but thrives on the deeper emotions. Tucker and Niki offer more than a pretty face and a sexy story. Laughter ends up being the gateway to something more. The humor adds vulnerability. It's at their most vulnerable when the real journey begins. Star is a refreshing love story with a risky format but a heartwarming payoff.
If you're looking for a quick. steamy read, look no further. This is the 2nd book by this author that I have read and enjoyed. I am looking forward to reading more. Niki had an appetite only Tucker could satisfy. They were so hot together, I had to take a cold shower! Hope there is gonna be an Emmie/Jon story??
I haven't read the first book to this but I really enjoyed reading Star. It made me laugh alot throughout reading. Nikki and Tucker have some pretty steamy times and they are so good together. This book is funny, hot and enjoyed reading it. Loved the characters. So I'll need to go back and read the first book too. You don't need to read it top read this but it might help.
I really liked Star it would be the secoound story that I've read by the author and the secound book in the Price of fame series . It can be read as a standalone you may run into some minor spoilers so I'd recommend that you get Idol first . I really love Tucker in book one I fell for him and in Star I was head over heals . I'm excited to see what's to come in the series and by the author .
This book will keep you laughing and have you cheering for this couple. This is Tucker and Niki’s story. Niki’s film has hit it big and she has moved into an expensive more secure condo. Her next door neighbor happens to be Tucker. He is rude, crude and socially unacceptable and Niki secretly loves it. They both have things in their past that keep them from getting together. Can they work it out?
Tucker was such an a**hole!!! Don't get me wrong, he definitely redeemed himself but, damn I wanted to smack him so hard! His "housewarming" gift was priceless! ! I laughed so hard throughout this book.
The six brothers are comical. Tucker and Nikki have so much in common and yet are somewhat different. I think thats what brings them together they each have issues from theirs past that they have to overcome. It was a funny book tucker reminds me a lot of my grandpa with his absurd humour.
What an absolutely, delightful, steamy, LOL romance. I never would have put these two together but they are AWESOME together. I loved Tucker in Idol and he certainly proved he could step up and go for his one. This one had me laughing out loud before I'd read 20%. If you need a laugh in your life, with a side of steamy chemistry, this one is for you!!😍😍😍
Star is the second book in the Price of Fame series by Elizabeth Lynx. I read this book unaware that we had been introduced to the other characters in the novel.
I enjoyed read Niki and Tucker's humorous, crazy and passionate love story. Their first meeting was definitely engaging enough for me to want to read more and get to know both characters. I definately liked them as a coup The characterisation and plot is enjoyable, making readers invested in them and Elizabeth's writing style is funny and so much fun to read
I'm really enjoying the Price of Fame Series. It was an easy read and kept you glued to the pages until the very last page. This book was Niki and Tucker's story. The pair had met in the last book, but the way they came, together was funny. Niki was the incentive that Tucker needed to mature and let someone into his heart. Tucker was able to accept Niki for who she was including her kink. It's a sweet story that is funny with a HEA. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.
First and foremost, loved the storyline! Loved Tucker and the way his character is. Loved the chemistry, the fighting and the flirting. Loved Niki and how the book turned out!
I absolutley loved the second book in this series. Niki and Tucker's story is crazy, intense, sexy and so damn funny. These characters are fantastic. The story has you turning the pages faster then you can possibly read them. Each book in this series hooks me deeper to their tales. I love Elizabeth's writing style. So much fun to read. This crazy couple is a true fave. Looking forward to the next installment. Dont miss out in this fun and fast paced series. 5/5
This is a quick read about Tucker Hunter’s brother and Niki. Tucker has had a chip on his shoulder for so long that he doesn’t act right around women. He doesn’t do relationships since they mostly want thing or to get close to his brother. Tucker is a smart guy who runs a company and lives next door to Niki. Niki is an actress and best friends Willa. Niki is not a huge actress yet but she just wants to be care for. Meeting Tucker was a bit of a shock for her and they don’t always see eye to Eye. Her mom wasn’t the best and only wanted what Niki could get her. Her Dad walked out on her and her mom. So, trying to find love isn’t always going to happened. Then tucker came and began his own way of showing love. It wasn’t always right or good but it was something. When an Ex of Niki leaks a video he becomes more close to protect Niki. It’s a sweet and silly story.
*** ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review ***
In the first book you’ve met Hunter, please meet his brother, Tucker. If the first was the good guy, this one was the opposite not caring about anything except himself. Not accepting self pity or anything else. He was really surprising and you didn’t know what would come next with that man. No filter at its best and he was just refreshing, hilarious and definitely insane.
Niki was a bit his opposite but nonetheless not shy at all. She was an aspiring actress and but not fully living her dreams. Tucker added some spontaneity in her life and he was accepting her entirely.
They melted so greatly, the banter was on point from smoking hot, emotional to hilarious moments. The chemistry was definitely there and I adored reading their crazy, wild and humorous story.
When you have a book that made you laugh from the first pages without even trying, you know it’s good to be good. Add a bit of sarcastic banter and colorful characters, a hint of steamy and tons of laughter! Right up my alley!!!
I’m so confused as to what this book was about. There’s a disabled dirty minded vet with a childish attitude and an up and coming movie starlet lots of sex and a villain tossed in the mix for good measure. The couple fight and make up but what the meat and potatoes of the story is I’m still not sure. Is it supposed to be erotica with a small plot mixed in? Was it supposed to me more? I have no idea and I really wanted to like it.
Tucker is a disabled vet who automatically deflects anything with snark and porn thoughts. He runs a successful company and doing ok for himself. He kind of a has a woe is me attitude he hides behind innuendos while he rolls around in his wheelchair. He hasn’t had any real relationships with women and his only friend is his brother. Sad, I know right? When he was just blowing off some steam and thinking the apartment next door was still unoccupied, he cranked up the porn and that brought Niki to his door. He is immediately taken by her but goes about it all wrong. Niki is establishing herself as a Hollywood It girl in…..Maryland. She is adjusting to her life and all the perks that come with it. She hasn’t had the best upbringing and I believe that shows in her real life. Niki has some kinks and had guys look down upon her for it. She isn’t expecting Tucker and his large….member and his strange attitude. At first, she’s turned off by him and avoids him but slowly falls into like with him. She faces down her past with Tucker by her side.
This book was confusing. It felt disjointed and just all over. Like snippets of stories here and there. Each chapter break it seemed like days or weeks have passed and it was like a whole new story. It seemed like some issues where just tossed it to give this book drama. I’m sure somewhere in there is a darn good story if it would just stick to one plot bunny and roll with it. This book is a lot of sexy times and that’s cool because I love sexy books. This isn’t a very long read so maybe that’s why it felt disjointed like trying to make something meaty in nineteen chapters. I really wanted to like it I truly did but it just flat for me. The synopsis had me intrigued and I thought I was getting a different story then what was presented. Gah I really hate writing reviews like this! Star had so much potential if it was just reworked a bit.
Elizabeth Lynx is a newer to me author, as Star is only the 2nd book that I've experienced by her, and I'm going to admit that I'm addicted at this point. Of course, I didn't expect to laugh that hard right off the bat when Niki meets Tucker for the first time. In fact, I'm still laughing as I type this review out. See, Niki Sargeant recently became Hollywood's new It Girl, so she was able to move in to a high end condo. However, she meets Tucker that first time when she hears a woman screaming from his condo, so she breaks in to make sure everything's okay. Of course she thought it was a great idea until he came out naked to see who was in his place. And he's so hot that she can't take her eyes off of him, not even to figure out what he was actually doing quickly enough. He's Tucker Six, a former Marine, and is the head of a tech firm, while supposedly being a mysterious loner dude. Are you getting the picture now?! Let me say this, don't drink any beverages while reading this story, but the hysterically funny moments are throughout, and I mean HILARIOUS! So you will spit your drink out, and maybe even have it go up your nose, so heed my warning for real. These two have some serious chemistry, and thank goodness Niki is a real girl right?! So anyone else trying to break in will maybe just maybe see an actual female. Anyway, there's now a push & pull because Niki is the one who wants the hookups, while Tucker is the one who catches feelings. You heard me, a refreshing change of pace right?! Well, I bet you're wondering how it ends up, and I'll never tell, so you'll have to one click this baby to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Star is the second book in the Price of Fame Series. This book is about Niki and Tucker, both of whom we met in Idol, Book 1. This could be read as a standalone, but I feel you will get more out of it by reading them in order. Niki has just bought and moved into a luxury condo. She is christening it with Natalie and Willa. Suddenly they hear very loud screams from a woman, so they decide to go film her and break into the next door neighbors and film them. Surprise, Tucker who is Willa's fiancee's brother lives there, and they find him naked and watching porn. Tucker lost part of his leg in an explosion while serving in the Marines. Niki and Tucker are mesmerized and stare at each other. Tucker says what's on his mind no matter what. Niki has made it as an actress, but is it what she really wants to do? Tucker stops by another day with a gift basket, but is it an appropriate gift? Read for yourself to find out what is in the basket. This book had many funny moments, but it also is about finding yourself. Niki has doubts about sharing a part of herself after prior people made her feel less than normal, but Tucker takes it all in stride. I really enjoyed Idol, but I think this one may have more steam than that one, and that is saying something. I have enjoyed every Elizabeth Lynx book I have read, and this one surely did not disappoint. I am now looking forward to the next in the series, and I hope to learn more about Niki, Tucker, Hunter and Willa!
Absolutely loved this RomCom! The author has written a funny, sexy, yet heartwarming storyline that was a joy to read from start to finish. If you’ve read book 1 you know this series is about three girls who grew up together and have stuck together through thick and thin. Three friends who always stand behind each other no matter how crazy or serious the situation. And trust me when I say these three sure get into some hilarious situations.
Niki is the starlet of the group. She has finally gotten her big break. So she moves into a swanky condo. The night she moves into her new place, with the help of her two pals, they here loud female moaning coming from the unit next door. Addled by too much wine, the girls decide to investigate by breaking into the neighboring condo. Not sure what they were expecting to find I can assure it isn't Tucker Six in all his naked glory watching porn. Tucker is rock star Hunter Six’s little brother. He is a wounded vet that deals with life by making rude/crude jokes. Needless to say when Niki and Tucker find out they are neighbors life turns very “interesting” and oh so funny!
This story is more than just funny and romantic. It’s about learning to accept yourself, loving yourself and being self assured in your own skin. I simply adored this storyline and I highly recommend grabbing it up. You won’t regret it. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I suggest reading book #1, Idol (Hunter and Emma’s story), first for a better reading experience as the characters do overlap. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars
Oh my giddy aunt, Niki and Tucker are amazing! Elizabeth Lynx’s ‘Star’ was funny, charming, just a bit dirty, and thoroughly enjoyable! Niki is breaking onto the a-list acting scene, and moves into a new condo, next door to Tucker, a business owning man with an interesting attitude towards life and people. After a hilarious meet-cute, that takes places quite a while after the first time they meet, and numerous mouth-running-ahead-of-thoughts incidents, they realize that they actually might even kind of sort of like each other, though neither quite knows what to do with said feelings. With an amazing supporting cast of Willa and Hunter from ‘Idol’ and getting more of a glimpse of and feel for Emmie and Jon who we’ll get to meet in ‘Mogul’, this story simply put the biggest smile on my face! I adored Niki for being beautiful on the inside and the outside, and Tucker for recognizing that, and falling in love with that, as long as his big mouth doesn’t get him into too much trouble. I love the banter, the playfulness, the teasing, the experimentation, and the supportive nature as kinks and likes and dislikes are dealt with in a manner that you hope everyone would get to experience in their lives as they try to figure out what suits them! Tucker just put the biggest smile on my face with his wit, his slightly salty attitude, and the love that he finds with Niki, that they find together, really makes the story!
