Not my favourite. It started out well, with the characters getting to know each other again. I liked that the heroine told him why she made the choice she did back then, without dragging that out over the whole book.
However, from the point where the author had them getting so drunk that they got married and don't remember any of it or the wedding night, the book was pretty much no more fun to read. I find it very hard to believe that either of these characters as written would get that drunk. So it felt like it was just a really bad plot device. Not even sure of the point of it as they had enough conflict built into their situation and characters already without that one getting added. It just felt like the rest of the story was one stressful situation after the other with no happy or fun to balance it out.

I am on a mission to read (or listen) to all of Kait Nolan’s books. I’m almost there! And I think I may have listened to See You Again (Wishful #8) a while back, however I didn’t specifically remember it. But since I LOVE the second-chance romance trope - and there’s a severe lack of romances about the over 50 crowd - I decided to read this one when I saw it on sale for the low, low price of FREE.
The thing I love about Kait Nolan’s stories is that they are a heaping pile of sweet and sassy with a nice side dish of steam. You get all the charm of a small town series where each book can stand alone, while getting to revisit your favorite characters. Ms. Nolan also has several series crossovers, so there’s plenty of people to know and love. In See You Again, the heroine is the mother of a main character from another book and the mayor of the town of Wishful (so she’s been in lots of books!), and the hero is the man she almost left her abusive husband for. The hero has also been a minor side character in several other books, but we didn’t know he had a tie to the town of Wishful!
The thing I appreciated most about this book is that the reason why the heroine didn’t leave her husband wasn’t left a big secret for the whole book. When she reunites with the hero, there’s a conversation fairly quickly about what happened in the past. I also appreciated how this mature couple was capable of having mature conversations! It’s always great to watch mature couples figure out how they are going to blend their very separate lives.
What I didn’t appreciate was a heroine who got her undies in a bunch, then wouldn't just talk to the hero. Thankfully there’s always a good friend around in these books to knock some sense into the characters.
With rare exception, Kait Nolan hits the mark whenever I want a solid story that entertains and gives me the feels. I’ll be sad when I don’t have any more of this author’s books to turn to when I want a quick, delightful read. Thankfully, she’s still publishing the kind of stories I love and I can’t wait to read her next book!

Wishful book 1, To Get Me To You was Cam & Norah’s story. Cam’s mom Sandy & Nora’s boss Gerald were featured prominently in that book and have appeared sporadically in others throughout the series. While this is a full story, I think it would be better enjoyed having listened to book 1. Also, as there are a lot of folks to keep track of in Wishful, it’s helpful to listen to the whole series in order.
I’m thrilled Kait Nolan gave us a mature couple – late 40s, early 50s – for this second chance romance. Cam & Norah’s wedding is finally happening, but a huge storm and Sandy’s ex cause some serious issues. Trey steps in with a plan to make things happen, which also includes working closely with Sandy. I liked the way Nolan has the MCs struggle with being independent and yet wanting to be part of a couple. In some ways – wisdom comes with age and other times folks just become set in their ways. I enjoyed experiencing Trey & Sandy work through that and get their own HEA.
Amy McFadden does a great job again with a huge cast and all the southern accents and attitudes. Cam & Nora even sound the same as I remember them from book 1.

I always love a visit to Wishful, Mississippi. Nolan didn't disappoint with this installment in the series. 4.4 out of five stars.
The depth of the characters in this series is what keeps me coming back for more. We get that with Sandy and Trey. They've got a past connection and a world of living since they knew each other before, but the spark burns strong. As a more mature reader, it's nice to see characters my age feeling the flames of passionate love. We aren't dead yet.
Possible Spoilers ***
Even though I knew it was coming, the drunken wedding in Vegas seemed totally out of character for both Sandy and Trey. Sure, alcohol impairs all of our judgments, but why were they imbibing so heavily? Did all the free drinks get them in the end? I just didn't buy it as something they would "allow" to happen, and since it was the inciting incident, it ruined my immersion in the Wishful world.
My other issue: the whole "I don't need a man to save me" attitude. Authors think this makes their sheroes strong, but I think it makes them shallow. We all want to be needed. It gives us value. And if there's a man who likes to feel like he's protecting you, this attitude of "I don't need saving" emasculates him. I was truly disappointed that this is where Sandy went, and totally sided with Trey's deflation. I was thrilled that he still found a way to protect her, and that in the end, she realized she might have been too harsh. So, they redeemed this problem--sort of.
I've been waiting for both these characters to get a HEA, however, so I kept reading. And I read the book within a day. For me, it was the weakest of the Wishful stories, but I still smiled and cried. I'm so enamored with this community that all these "issues" didn't keep me from enjoying the visit to my favorite southern small town.
If you love Wishful, I know you'll read this. If you like second-chance romances, this one is a good one.

Another excellent book from Kait Nolan. I enjoy her books very much; especially her Wishful series of books. I hope they go on and on. At the end of the book it says she loves writing about strong women; but she also writes about strong men. This is the case with this book.
Mayor Sandra Crawford is indeed a strong woman. But, Gerald "Trey" Peyton is a strong man. A good man. They were close friends since at least College and actually much more. However, their relationship has been much more than just friends. Trey shows his inner strength by standing back and respecting her wishes when what he would actually like to do is rush in and protect and love her.
However Mayor Sandra Crawford is strong enough to do quite a lot on her own; but she has to learn to be strong enough to let others be strong for her when the need arises.
Trey is a Billionaire. I don't usually like stories where a billionaire is involved. I usually don't give a book a second look when I hear one of the characters is a Billionaire. But this one is well done. He is a person that likes to be accepted and appreciated for who he is not for the money he has. Although he is willing to use it to help those he cares about.
Another thing I like about this particular story is that although Sandra and Trey are strong likeable people. They have their flaws. They are not perfect human specimens. Sandra and Trey are in their 50s. She has had to deal with cancer and other issues; but despite the flaws they are attracted to one another; because it is much more than physical.
It was also good to see Cam and Norah get married too. That was a long time coming.

Sigh! I've been waiting not so patiently for this story ever since the end of the first book in the series. It was worth every moment of the wait. Over the course of all the books set in Wishful, we've gotten to know a little about both Sandra and Trey. And this time we get to know what happened thirty years ago that pulled them apart and made them into the people they are today. I loved seeing Sandra interact with all of her extended family. Those are some of my favorite scenes in the book. Seeing Trey learn how to navigate a relationship with a strong woman used to doing everything on her own and set in her ways was both heartbreaking and enlightening, as Sandra needed to learn that she has to meet him in the middle. I can't wait to see who the next pair to get hitched in Wishful is going to be.

This eighth novel in the Wishful series was a well written and sweet romance novel with good character development set in a lovely Southern small town. There is some sex, but it's more natural and less over-the-top. This novel had such a good, multi-layered plot about not just the characters but also the town itself. I really enjoyed this novel and will be reading more of the series. I loved finally seeing Norah and Cam's (couple from the first book) wedding, but the main story focuses on his mom, Sandy, and how she found love again with Trey, a man she'd loved for 30 years, which was just so honest and beautiful.

"See You Again" is Sandy's story. She's 49, the mayor, and rocks at it being a single mom. Trey, is Gerald Peyton who's been helping Wishful through Nora. Finally, Nora and Cam get their wedding we've read about everytime we've revisited Wishful that was put on hold. This amazing town pitches in so many ways to help Sandy, Cam and Nora. "The fountain", well wishes we're made and you get to see what they were and what the results were too. Overall quality of writing was amazing! No cheating or cliffhanger so enjoy!!

Returned to Wishful again with a glad heart. The fictional town is gearing up for Cam and Norah's big day, then disaster strikes and the townspeople prove just how much these two are loved.
Of course the timing for a reunion between Mayor Crawford and the Billionaire developer, who it turns out was her long ago love 30 years back, was not on the agenda.
How this second chance romance worked out was magical, as was the solution and execution of Cam and Norah's big day.

Trey Peyton, Gerald Peyton III CEO of Peyton Consolidated. He is in Wishful, MS, helping vitalize the town with has assistant Nora. Thirty years ago he was in love with Sandy, but she chose to stay with her husband so he left. He married and divorced long ago and has gown daughter. He is still I love with Sandy after all this time. Sandy Crawford now mayor of the town called Wishful and has a grown son named Cam. Sandy has been divorced for 18 years. She is a strong woman who has handled things on her own for a long time. She has even gone through breast cancer. Her family is big and always trying to get in her business which she does not like. Nora is marrying Cam, Sandy's son, but there was a bad storm and a tree fell on the church they are suppose to get married in. Trey goes to Sandy's office to meet with her and offer his help with getting the church fixed. Sandy is shocked to see him, but happy.
I liked the book so much as I could relate to a few things in the book. Sandy and Trey are older (so am I) and Sandy went through breast cancer and so did I. I liked how Ms. Nolan handled the breast cancer subject, and had Trey tell her how beautiful she still is. Sandy's ex-husband is a piece of work that I definitely did not like. There are some misunderstandings that take place that keeps things popping. I also liked how the children gave Sandy advice that she took to heart. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

See You Again reintroduces two of my favorite characters that were introduced in What I Like About You: Sandra and Trey. This volume goes into depth about the relationship they had thirty years ago, and it reintroduces them as Norah and Cam’s wedding approaches. It’s a beautiful love story with some minor dark aspects, and it’s wonderful.
Thirty years ago, Sandra and Trey were in college. She was married, and things weren’t going well with her marriage. Trey acted as her confidant, and that developed into more. Sandra had finally decided to divorce her husband and leave town with Trey when something happened to change her mind. Only she never had the chance to tell Trey about it. Now, he’s a highly respected billionaire working with Norah to reinvigorate the town of Wishful. Sandra is now the mayor of the town. When something happens to put Norah and Cam’s marriage into doubt, Trey jumps in to do everything in his power to see that the couple has the wedding of their dreams. This brings him back into contact with Sandra. Can they overcome the thirty years that have passed and create a new relationship?
This is such a warm and tender tale of two people now in their fifties finding each other once again. I highly recommend it. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

The more I read Kait Nolan, the more I love her writing. She has a way of combining the angst and drama of love with true emotion, without having to read page after page of how broken someone is, or how against romance they are. Yep, there are broken people and there are dramatic people, and there are even people down on love - she manages to combine them all into the little town of Wishful and I'm ever so glad she did.
It is starting to catch up to me that I'm reading these books out of order, so I'll go in search of a list, in chrono order, once I've written this review.
Me, the technical reader, loves the way she paces her stories. There isn't one word on one page that lags, there aren't characters who stay too long, or stay too little. The story itself, in each of her books, is about love. Pure and Simple love. Add a little sexy, a little steam, some great dialogue, and you get a Kait Nolan book. I cannot wait until I decide which one to read next. And to top it off, she understands people, in general, because we are all imperfect. But those imperfections flatter and compliment the book. This book is short and sweet and completely lovable.
I got all the way through this review and realized I hadn't mentioned the major reason why this book was so good. First, the H and h weren't new to love and emotions. They're both in their 40's and have a huge history behind them that they have to crawl around. Second, as soon as they met, it was obvious and that is the beauty of Kait Nolan's writing. She doesn't pair people off in Wishful without a care, she learns her characters as she creates them and in this case, it was spot on.

I am new to this author and after this book, I have become a convert.
Though it’s part of a series, I had no problems following the plot, so if like me , this is your first book in the series, you’ll be fine.
I absolutely loved the story. It centers around Sandra (Sandy) Crawford, and billionaire Gerald (Trey) Peyton. They met when they were in college. She was married and though nothing physical happened between them, it’s obvious they fell in love. CIrcumstances in life causes a separation and any further contact , until almost 30 years later. Others will tell you more about the plot , I will go a different route.
This is a love story about second chances. About a woman that has had lots of obstacles in life and because of them is independent and doesn’t want a man to come to her “rescue”. She feels if she lets a man into her life and heart, he’ll want to take over and she will be “lost “ in the relationship. While we have a man , that has loved her all this time and just wants to make her happy . He is learning to understand her. He “gets” her but fears that unless she accepts that his love is one of support and only wanting the best for her, she will never be able to love him fully until she realizes he indeed “gets” her.
Kudos to Ms Nolan not only for a heartfelt story, but also for writing a book about more mature individuals.

She feels if she lets a man into her life and heart, he’ll want to take over and she will be “lost “ in the relationship. While we have a man , that has loved her all this time and just wants to make her happy . He is learning to understand her. He “gets” her but fears that unless she accepts that his love is one of support and only wanting the best for her, she will never be able to love him fully until she realizes he indeed “gets” her.
Kudos to Ms Nolan not only for a heartfelt story, but also for writing a book about more mature individuals.

rvcd an advanced reader copy for giving my two cents! i quite enjoyed this book. we met Sandra, mayor of the quaint little town in a previous book. we also met trey as well but under a different name..billionaire extraordinaire Gerald. Sandra's son is about to marry the woman who saved the town and is on a mission when the church is damaged in a storm. Gerald...aka..trey wants to help but doesnt know how to approach Sandra after 30 years. He decides to invite her to lunch at his hotel and eventho its all business he needs some closure for his feelings about sandra. When Sandra arrives, she is gobsmacked to see Trey sitting at the table and then confusion sets in. Trey tells her that he didnt want ppl to like him for his families money when they were in college and that sandra saw him for him, not a bank. Sandra definitely has some unresolved feelings for trey that she cant understand at the moment. Personal aside, they both come up with a plan to help the wedding move forward. Trey asks sandra on a date, in which they end up in Vegas and married no less. what will people think? sandra is the mayor, she is a respectable and responsible adult and she cant get married!! trey wants to stay married evertho neither remembers them getting hitched. will sandras feelings of past hurt get in the way? will trey walk away forever?

Love interrupted
I loved this second chance, drunken Vegas wedding romance between seasoned adults. This heartwarming story was filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Reading it made me happy and I smiled the entire way through the story except for the parts that made me cry, of course. Trey is a 49 yo billionaire responsible for a huge company. Sandra is also 49 and the mayor of small town Wishful. But 30 years ago they were both college students whose HEA was interrupted by life and choices. Trey has finally decided that Sandra is still the love of his life and he’s willing to convince Sandra to be brave enough to leap with him. To get to their HEA they’ll be a lot of baggage unpacking, truth telling and life rearrangements once they get past the drunk Vegas wedding of course. The journey is a bit bumpy with some will they, won’t they, but it made my romance heart so happy for Trey and Sandra. I love this sweet southern small town and all of its quirky townspeople. 4.5 stars.

I just love this series and this book was great with the story of Sanda Crawford and Gerald Payton (Trey). Sandra is about to be the Mother of the Groom as Cam and Norah’s wedding is also told in this book. I loved that is story is about a more mature couple that has a second chance at love 30 years later.
I received a free copy of the book and have voluntarily written an honest review. Kait Nolan has given us another great book that will fill you with emotions and love. If you have not read any of this series I recommend you do if you like a well written shortish easy read that will fully entertain you page after page. You will fall in love with this great little town and the people. I had wished the story was a bit longer but I feel that about most of Kait Nolan novels as I totally enjoy them and don’t want them to finish. You get to read about some great characters.

Another excellent story from Kait. If you are a fan of this Wishful series, you'll be excited to read that Mayor Sandy finally gets her HEA after 30 years! Trey is actually billionaire Gerald Peyton who has holdings all around the globe, but she didn't know how as Gerald. They are now both in their fifties, each divorced and are very independent, strong characters. Her son Cam is now getting married to Nora, both old friends from previous stories. Trey comes to the rescue when a storm takes out the roof of the church only two weeks before the wedding. Will strong-minded Sandra let him help? There's a big surprise twist between them early in the book and another surprise with her ex near the end. I enjoyed this book very much and was happy Cam and Nora got their HEA as well!
I am just charmed by Amy McFadden's voices and can listen to her for hours. She's just the perfect narrator for all of Kait Nolan's books!

Another fantastic romance from Kait Nolan, you don't have to read them in order, but you will get so much more from this book if you have read the rest - and you should anyway as they are fabulous!!
This is a great story that finally gives us the wedding of a previous happy couple (hence it would be good to read that story first) and the long overdue romance between the town mayor and a man from her past! This isn't a simple formulaic second chance romance... Heck no, you have 30 year estrangement, a wedding emergency, a woman needing protection, a drunken trip to Vegas and so much more!!
How do you convince a woman who has had to look after herself for far too many years to accept help and support and to understand that this time around it is finally not just the right place, but also the right time!!

See You Again is a delightful second chance romance featuring a middle-aged couple, Sandy and Trey. I love stories with older couples because I can really relate to them. Sandy and Trey have dealt with life's trials and tribulations and come out stronger and wiser. I was pleased to see the issue that caused them to separate 30 years ago was addressed in a straight forward manner early on. Trey's idea for a surprise date was a dandy. It definitely set the stage for the rest of their relationship.
I love the town of Wishful. A community that pulls together to help their own is a wonderful place to live. Even with everybody knowing everyone's business, I would love to live there.
I strongly urge you to read See You Again. Kait Nolan's books are well-written and filled with unique characters you will fall in love with. Guaranteed.

A lovely story of true love lasting through the years!
While most stories today are about young 20- or 30- somethings, it's refreshing to have a story about a couple who both have adult children of their own! Ms. Nolan does such a wonderful job with her characters that it's hard to remember they aren't in their 20s or 30s!
The story also shows that true love really can last...and wait for its time to shine. Thirty years after they parted, Trey and Sandra are finally able to give in to their feelings they had when in college together. And do so in a spectacular way!
This book is filled with great scenes and hilarious moments. I thoroughly recommend this journey back to Wishful, along with all the other books from there!

It’s good to get back to Wishful, that small southern town that’s so similar to every other small town in America, only not quite. Anyone who grew up in small-town America will relate to this series. They’ll totally understand all the undercurrents that run through the town and how utterly frustrating, but endearing, the people are.

Once again, Ms. Nolan provided a very entertaining story. Sandra, the town’s mayor, & Trey, a billionaire, find each other 30 years after having to say “goodbye”. Sandy married Waylon, a no-good person, because she was pregnant with his child. When she met Trey back then, sh was tempted to leave her marriage. In this book Sandy’s son, Cam, is marrying Norah. Because of storm that caused major damage to their church, they had an outdoor wedding. Waylon showed up at the wedding, too the microphone out of Sandy’s hand to say a few words. What happened to Waylon? What happened to Sandy & Trey? Guess you’ll have to read this to find out! This was an easy read. Ms. Nolan writes so well, her novels transport the reader to the location & set of the story.

I will admit, I was skeptical about a book about a couple that were so much older than myself. Of course, I should never have doubted the writing skills of Kait Nolan. This book is sweet and poignant, definitely something that I could see happening to someone I know. I LOVE getting to follow through with some of the previous Wishful characters that I fell in love with. However, if you haven't read any of her previous books, you won't be lost. All the Wishful Series books can be stand alones. There were a few points that I found a little far fetched based on the personalities of the main characters, but nothing that made me want to put the book down. I heart Wishful!

Trey has met his match with leaving his phone in the car, getting a flat, and no spare. He maybe a billionaire, walking seems now the answer. It seemed odd to be so disconnected from everything noticing the houses along the way, the one that caught his eye, had been turned into a home . He avoided this place, and her, emotions were not for him. She almost left her husband for him years ago. They both matured and became strong people in their career. She tells him why she didn’t, but was the spark still there now.
Enjoyable story of choices, and will it still be the same thirty years later.

See You Again by Kait Nolan is a fabulous contemporary romance. Ms. Nolan has provided readers with a well-written book. This smooth read is packed with an outstanding cast of characters. Trey is CEO of Peyton Consolidated and is ready to meet Sandy...again. Sandy is the town mayor and trying to make sure her son's wedding goes off without a problem. Sandy and Trey's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading See You Again and look forward to reading more from Kait Nolan in the future. See You Again is book 8 of the Wishful Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Watching them arrive at their HEA was a delight, despite the roadblocks along the way. An engaging read perfect for the beach or a lazy afternoon. I enjoyed meeting these characters and will continue on with the series.

Who knew that the hot billionaire that blew into Wishful and met Norah, was a lost love of Sandy, Cam’s mom. It has been thirty years since Trey saw Sandy make her choice to not leave her husband and go with him. She was in an emotionally abusive relationship and she had confided in Trey at college, where he fell in love with her. Circumstances have him returning to Wishful. Sandy divorced her husband, who abandoned her and their son, when he was sixteen. She has become the Mayor or Wishful and raised her son. Will they be able to get back the love that they once had? I very much enjoyed the read.
