The Beaumont Brothers #3

Beautifully Undone

Rate this book
Can be read as a Stand-alone

He was broken.

Full of hate and sorrow.

Asher Beaumont never asked for much in life. All he wanted was to play his guitar, write music, and be recognized and loved by his father. Unfortunately, that last desire was never realized. The bastard died when Asher was just a kid. Then thirteen years later, his mother dies of a brain tumor, shattering him even more and leaving him hating everyone around him, except for his two best friends, Melody Stevens and her brother, Teddy.

Melody Stevens has crushed on her best friend, Asher Beaumont her entire life. But it’s always been a secret passion. Never something she’d act upon. But when she tells Asher she’s prepared—and determined—to lose her virginity to a guy he considers to be nothing more than a cad who sleeps with anything that wears a skirt, her best friend offers her a proposition she can’t really refuse.

When Asher stumbles across a letter left by his mother before her death, begging him to seek out his half-brothers, he and Melody begin a journey of discovery. Their travels lead them to the two brothers he has spent his life despising because they had the life he always wanted. While on their trip, they discover a miracle they never, ever considered.

Beautifully Undone was the third book in the Beaumont Brothers series by Susan Griscom. This was my favorite of the three. It could be read as a stand-alone but I enjoyed it more having read them in order.

Asher Beaumont was grieving. He just lost his mother; whom he adored and treasured. He felt lost. She was the only family he had and now he was alone. Her wish from the grave was for him to find his half brothers; brothers he knew about but despised.

Melody was Asher’s best friend since they were four. She secretly crushed on Asher but kept it to herself. They were now in their early twenties and still best friends.

Griscom set the stage for the storyline well. It was a journey of growth, healing and new beginnings. She took us from friends to lovers with a few plot twists along the way. She also weaved a tale of two brothers into the mix, providing additional depth and dimension. I enjoyed the development but would have liked to experience the brothers earlier in the story - or to have it longer - filling in some of the gaps. Regardless, it was enjoyable.

In the end, this was my favorite of the three. And Griscom wrapped it up with great potential for a legacy series. Bring on the Beaumont Cousins!

*I purchased this as part of the boxed set The Beaumont Brothers Complete Series. I reviewed each book separately as I read them and provided an overall rating under the boxed set for the entire series.

Beautifully Undone by Susan Griscom is part of the Beaumont Brothers series, however, it reads like a standalone. The characters from the prior books have roles in Beautifully Undone, but you don’t have to read the prior books in order to enjoy the story. At a signing event, Ms. Griscom warned me that Beautifully Undone was more racy than her usual book, however, the “racy” parts are some of the most tastefully written sex scenes I’ve read. Beautifully Undone is one of the sweetest, most tender, friends-to-lovers romance I’ve ever read.

Griscom’s main characters, Asher and Melody, are very likable, and they’re fabulous together. I rooted for their relationship to grow into something more than friendship. I loved that this NA romance wasn’t about instant love. The two face several life changing situations together, and the support they give one another is touching. Melody and Asher have been friends and neighbors since childhood. They’re like family. When Asher has to deal with his mom’s death, Melody is 100% by his side. When Melody announces that she’s going to give her virginity to a guy, Asher has a totally best-friend-who-is-a-guy reaction. Melody’s big brother, Teddy, is like a “big bro” to Asher too. Teddy lives out-of-state, and gives Asher the thumbs-up with Ashley by asking him to look out for his sister. In hindsight, Asher figures out what everyone else has seen-- that he and Melody make a great couple.

The story is very emotional. It is a story about a guy and girl who grew up together. Their mothers supported them through divorces and other losses. They had a solid foundation of friendship, but haunting that friendship was Melody’s crush on Asher. That crush leads Melody to take advantage of a magnanemous offer from Asher. Both talented musicians, Melody and Asher make music and make love together. Their relationship might get a little angsty, but a road trip and a quest to find Asher’s half-brothers ends with a very satisfying HEA.

I adored the local details that could only be incorporated by a local author. Griscom has peppered her story with well-known local hangouts in San Francisco as well as long-standing local events such as the Bridge School Benefit Concert. Beautifully Undone has inspired me to read more of Susan Griscom’s Beaumont Brothers series.

I purchased Beautifully Undone when I met Susan Griscom at a signing event. The great thing about a signing event is that you are introduced to a hoard of new-to-you authors. If you’re in the position to go to a signing, buy the ticket; go early, stay late, get a picture of with an author that you may know and grow to love. Wow! What a friend to lovers book this is. I really enjoyed this couple because they were two of a trio that had grown up together. The third Teddy is Melody Stevens’ older brother who is one year older than her and Asher Beaumont. And Asher is one week older than she is.
But, Teddy after college, which he went away to Arizona, stayed and got a high-power job out-the-gate. So, coming home other than the holidays was rare. The trio was lopsided. Asher and Melody did everything together. They both played guitar and sang but only Ash performed professionally. She was there for every concert when she wasn’t working odd jobs. Since she was old enough for boys to notice Mel. Ash warned them if they tried any funny business they would answer to him.
Which they all took as ‘she was his!’ The only ones that didn’t know it was Ash and Mel. Although, Mel has been in love with Ash since they were toddlers. You see their moms were best friends even though they didn’t move next door to each other till grade school.
Now at twenty-one Ash was facing a tough time his mom just passed and Mel, she knows he needs her, but he’s pushing her away. So, she leaves him to it, so he thinks. When she comes to the place, he needed to be and he’s crumpled to the ground she engulfs him. He knew it was her without even looking and he is so relieved. He says, “Thank you.” And that she was right, he needed her.
When they leave there, they go to a coffee house and a guy he hates asks her out and she says, ‘yes.’ He can’t believe it. He spends most of the night trying to talk her out of it because the guy is a man-whore. She says good I need to turn in my V-card since you scared everyone else off and I’ve never even been on a date because of my brother and you. Which absolutely shocked him. How could that be he thought.
In all the years of friendship, he never noticed. See how these two maneuvers through this delightful minefield of losing your V-card, what love really means and how you really define family. I give this 5 ++++ stars. Provided by Author for a fair unbias review.

I have read the entire Beaumont Brothers Series and this one is my favorite! I loved the other 2 books, but something about Beautifully Undone just grabbed me by the heart and wouldn't let go.

I read this book in 2 sittings because part way through the author had me sobbing and I had to grab a glass of wine to get myself together. LOL It was such an emotional journey through the eyes of both Melody Stevens and Asher Beaumont. Best friends since childhood, both had to go through such devastating circumstances and lean on each other for support. I found that to be so inspiring and beautiful.

There were also quite a few yummy steamy scenes that had me fanning myself and even blushing. Author Susan Griscom is a pro at bringing passion into a story with characters you can't help but love. Melody was a fun character. I really liked her sarcastic nature and playfulness with Asher. You could feel their bond through the pages. Asher, well he is just sexy as hell.

Beautifully Undone is the third book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. I recommend the entire series though because each book gives you the background and experiences that each brother had gone through. Such a great series!

I have to say that not reading the other 2 books in this series first is not in anyway a hindrance in the story line. Susan created two beautifully developed characters that neither realised that their feelings were mutual, through the trials of life and death among them there were able to push past the the hurts of the past opening their lives to a future full of possibilities and a love that has been between them all their lives.

Being able to read this book prior to publication makes me wonderful in Susan allowing me the ability to get my thoughts on this story out to the world. The story has wonderful depth not only in the characters but in the story while still being an easy read that you do not want to put down. I was seriously surprised how she was able to keep the depth of characters and story along with keeping the story an easy light read that you do not want to put down. being able to finish from chapter 13 to the end of the book in one evening. This author needs to be praised for all she is worth I haven't been able to read a book this quick as well as understand and really enjoy the story in quite a long time.

What a wonderful job Susan did with Beautifully Undone. Yes it might state that it is book 3 in the series but this book can be read as a standalone. She introduces each character, explains a bit about them and you don't feel that you missed anything if you haven't read the first two books. I haven't read the first two books so I didn't feel like I was confused or wondering who a person was or anything like that. I do however want to go back and read the first two books so I can read more and learn more about Jackson and Brodie the Beaumount Brothers.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved Asher and Melody. There were some really emotional scenes and some really steamy scenes too! I was hooked from start to finish and was so happy for the brothers to meet and get to know each other (after an initial stumble when Asher first revealed who he was). This book was so good and I'd highly recommend it!

6 BEAUTIFUL STARS! “A streaming trail of need followed by want confused the hell out of me.” This almost sums the book up. Forgive me now for being so vague but I absolutely refuse to give any spoilers and have an incredible need to tell you all the reasons why you need to read this book. Asher and Melody are my new favorite book couple!

You know right from the start of the story that it is going to be deep. Amazing friendship, hate, love, confusion, and some HOT scenes! Asher, Melody, and her brother, Ted have been very close friends since they were young. What happens when you are friends with someone of the opposite sex? People misconstrue things and no one approaches you because they think you are taken. While going through a deep family loss, confusion is rising fast regarding feelings about your best friend and some long lost relatives. Asher and Melody are easy to fall in love with right from the beginning. There are many twists along their journey that will keep you stuck to this story. It’s like gravity!

“I was embarrassed when I moaned into his mouth and felt him smile as he kissed me. But that didn’t stop him. His kiss was tender. Affectionate . So arousing.”

“I needed her to feel not just good, but miraculous. Because if I couldn’t have her forever, then at least I’d always have this moment now of being her first and the one she would remember forever. I would always be her first, no matter what. And maybe, just maybe, she would always look back on this moment with a smile.”

**Beautifully Undone is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I have not read the rest of the series but am looking forward to reading them now. I can’t get enough of the story and need more!**

I love the Beaumont Brothers! I have been blessed to read each book that has been written about these boys. I think that the chemistry between Asher and Melody surpassed my love for Jackson and Lena!

This book shattered me! My heart was ripped out of my chest. From the first heartbreaking chapter to the last word, this book is filled with passion and pain. Nothing is more beautiful then the love between two halfs of a soul coming together. Asher and Melody are to amazing characters. Both so strong and so full of hurt.
When that combination comes together you get earth shattering love. Mrs. Griscom writes their story so beautifully, sexy and full of emotion!
This book is part of The Beaumont Brothers Series but can definitely be read as a stand alone!

The latest book in the Beaumont Brothers is one of those rare "couldn't put it down" books. The characters are so real I startled my dogs at about two in the morning when I yelled at one of them to stop being so pigheaded. Eventually the dogs forgave me and the characters worked out their problem.
I loved the first book in this series and was excited to see the second book was even better. Then the author comes out with this one and bowled me over!
The characters are fun, the story is fast paced mixed with inner turmoil, and the writing surperb!

Asher & Melody have known each other their entire lives. Their moms are best friends and they live right next door to each other.

Asher's mom passes and wants Asher to find his half brothers in Turtle Lake. But he has to take care of this first time thing with Melody. Asher will not let Melody get hurt by that scumbag Alex. After Asher finds out that Melody wants to lose her virginity Alex, a guy Asher cannot stand, well that just won't do so he purposes an alternate plan. Asher wants to be Melody's first. Melody being in love with Asher since forever might not ever get another opportunity, but will they still be best friends after.

Asher decides to find his brothers. He does not know what he will find or if he will be accepted but he has to give it a try. But he needs his bestie with him, and his bestie needs some good times right now. So Ash and Melody take a road trip to Turtle Lake. They met Brodie & Jackson, as well as Lena & Gabby. Instant friendship but when they break the news about being his brother well that is not received as well.

Along the way Ash & Melody realize they want to be a couple and finally give into the feelings they have had over the years but never acted on. Now they must maneuver their new relationship around new family, friends, and a big surprise coming their way.

I love that Ash & Melody & Ted were all best friends and that Melody loved her big brother with so much of her heart. I like that Ted accepted Ash as Melody's boyfriend before the relationship even formed between the 2. Telling Ash that him and Melody belonged together gave the couple something to think about.

The new found friendship with Lena, Gabby, and Melody was really nice. 100 % acceptance into the family with no questions just love. That is defiantly a fairy tale. LOL

While the friends to lovers portion of the story was pretty good, this a depressing read! There’s a lot of death and talking about people who are no longer alive. When I read a romance, I don’t want to read about someone having dinner with friends one day and then being struck by a drunk driver the next. What?!?!?! And it had no real bearing on the story. Like, seriously, why did he have to die?

If you like Nicholas Sparks, who isn’t happy unless someone dies, this is a less well written version of something he might come up with. That sounds harsh now that I put it down in words. The stir isn’t bad at all, it’s just not my jam, and I’d only recommend it to someone who feels like you need enough sadness to balance out the joy.

I listened to this book on Audible. The narration was good so it didn’t distract from the story.
Kind of a typical “best friends to lovers” story, but not completely. The “virgin twist” isn’t anything new either. Since I’ve read the first two books in the series, this one seemed to fit right in. I think it’s a bit steamier though. I’m not sure I would have put the pregnancy twist in, but guess it worked. Why does the reader always know long before the character though? Come on! Everyone can’t be that dense.
Nice wrap to the series.

Beautifully Undone is the second book I've read in the Beaumont Brothers series and it works fine as a stand alone. It tells the story of Asher Beaumont and Melody Stevens. Lifelong friends, they deal with loss, challenges, and surprises by having each other's backs. This is a friends-to-lovers story that surprises Asher and Melody when it happens. They are interesting characters that the author describes so well that they are easy to imagine. I prefer less steamy scenes in the books I read, but I enjoyed this book.

Out of tragedy, came a great love story...

Best way to describe this book, is there is a lot of emotional things that happen and it brings out the best of TWO old friends.
HIGHLY recommend, full sadness and joy, but a GREAT read that you won't want to put down. Will really like the ending!

Well-written Romantic Story

Melody and Asher have been friends for years and have been in love with one another for a while. However they have denied themselves the benefit of a relationship beyond their friendship for fear of losing each other. Their chemistry finally gets the best of them and they realize that they no longer have to hide their feelings for each other.
