Soldiers, dogs, romance and lovely characters. What it there not to like?

The third book in a lovely series.
All filled with strong male and female characters.
A wonderful HEA after many ups and downs.

I love the part the dogs play in each book.

A quick, easy, fun read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Is it bad that all I wanted to do while reading this book was smack there heads together?
I think I face palmed a couple of times too.
Hell the thing with the dog was wow. I don't have words for what happened in some of this book.
But it was a nice read and a great laugh.

The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
Man’s Best Friend #3

One night stands are meant to be just that but poor Meredith and Lincoln met again as maid of honor and best man at a wedding they both were in. The chemistry was still there but it was...awkward...and more awkward when both were surprised at the wedding rehearsal by an unexpected happening. The two do get off to a bumpy start but eventually do reach a HEA together.

I believe this is a book that will appeal to NA readers. I had trouble relating to either character as their problems were not ones relevant to me and perhaps this is reflected in my rating.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Wonderful story and great ending to this trilogy. Meredith and Linc meet at a bar and are shocked when they meet again at their friends' Ethan and Isabella'swedding rehearsal dinner.

They have some surprising news later that night and they both independently show up at the same animal shelter, interested in adopting the same dog!

Great writing, they have great chemistry and seem to be perfect together, except neither one thinks they want a relationship. They have some soul searching to do, have to make it over some hurdles before they can decide what they really want. I didn't cry but I did get teary eyed a few times. I'm sad to see this story end. Definitely a new favorite author for me!

The Matchmaker's Match is a solid romance story that brings steam, banter, and a little heartache all together for a great read. You've got an ex-military man having a one night stand with a woman getting over an old flame. Throw in some cute dogs and matchmaking friends, and you'll have a Happy Ever After for sure. Flockton is one of those authors you can count on to give you a nice little romance to get you through the day!

I enjoyed this story very much.
What happens when a one night stand brings you face to face with the one you expected to never see again? Well the first thing is surprise, obviously. Then there is awkwardness, of course. See the thing is, while Meredith and Lincoln weren't looking for anything beyond their one night, neither has forgotten the other. But then something awful happens to Meredith and Lincoln finds himself by her side. There wasn't anywhere else he'd rather be.

Once Lincoln realizes that he could be happy with Meredith, it's all hands on deck trying to convince her. Of course they both have obstacles to get through. But all was worth it in the end. I truly adored this book, the premise and talented writing went together nicely to entertain and endear me at the same time. This was actually book three in a series and I haven't read the others. But I would definitely like to. The author brings characters from the previous books to pique our interest. That said, I definitely recommend this book.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

I'm a new Nicole Flockton reader. Well, not like brand-new-never-heard-of-her reader, but new as in I've-only-read-her-Stoker's-World-books. So, yeah. :) And because I've read her books related to the Susan Stoker Special Forces World, I knew I wanted to read some of her other books. So, while I'm not a new-new reader, I'm a gently seasoned new reader :).

So, about "The Matchmaker's Match". It was just so....like watching the surf roll and ebb into the shore. It was gentle and sweet, angst-y and dramatic, and bittersweet and beautiful. It was a wonderful story. Like a day spent watching the shoreline, reading this book was a day well spent. Mrs. Flockton's characters (Linc, not Luke and Meredith, sometimes Tink) are substantial and real. They're people you can imagine knowing. You want to follow them and know their stories. You want to take your shoes off and walk along the shoreline of their world. This book gave equal measure to both the Hero and the Heroine. You could, figuratively speaking, pick up the pieces of the characters like picking up seashells.

And also? Get this! 'The Matchmaker's Match' actually isn't the first book in the series! Yeah! I know, right?! There's two stories before 'The Matchmaker's Match'. So, that's fun. I'll be sure to go back and read the first two

Disclaimer for those that need disclaimers: I was gifted a copy of this ARC book from Netgalley. I was bored a few nights ago and raged thru Netgalley requesting all sorts of books. This book was the first that came through. I've got 4 more to go. (lesson learned on my part: don't go strolling through the books late at night)

The Matchmaker's Match (Man's Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton was a sweet, military romance, that hooked me from start to finish.

This series has become a fav of mine, it's more than a sweet romance, it has a bit of mystery, suspense, and just a touch of action; with a cute dog that just keeps you flipping the pages. So don't be fooled by the page count, this book may be short but it's packed to the gills with everything that gets those feels going and the heart pumping. She's small but mighty.

This story follows Link and Meredith as they navigate this crazy thing call love. Their meeting is suppose to be a one night thing, just two people passing in the night. It was a great start and you can feel the chemistry instantly. Meredith knew what she wanted and she went after it. I love when the female MC makes that first move. Confidence is sexy. As the story moved on, and we get into the main plot, things heat up, get witty, fun and so entertaining, that I just couldn't stop reading if I wanted to.

Overall this book is a must read and it gets my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval

Happy Reading

The Matchmaker’s Match was a great 5 star read and book three in the Man’s Best Friend series.

We get pulled in right from the beginning with Meredith meeting a man in a bar at the hotel she was staying at. She ends up having a hot and steamy one night stand...We jump ahead one month and Meredith is getting ready for her best friend's wedding.

When she meets the best man she is shocked to see her one night stand, Linc. Lincoln is equally as shocked to see Meredith at the rehearsal dinner. When Meredith ends up very sick, Linc helps her by taking her to the hospital where they get some shocking news. Lincoln was great, trying to help Meredith.

Can a one night stand turn into an unexpected HEA? Will Meredith get what she’s always wanted?

These two connect on so many levels, you could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. I had some LOL moments at the bantering and we get some steaminess as well. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it can be read as a stand alone. I have plans to go back and read the others in the series and I look forward to reading more from Nicole. 1-click and get started today.

The Matchmaker's Match, is Nicole Flockton's latest book offering. It is a nicely written contemporary romance that takes place in San Antonio, Texas. This is the third book from the author's Man's Best Friend series and it can be read as a standalone.

School teacher Meredith Turner, and K-9 Handler Lincoln Forrest, share a night of amazing sex and passion after meeting at a bar in San Diego. When they see each other again at the rehearsal dinner of their very best friends a week or so later, they are beyond shocked. In addition and simultaneously, Meredith experiences a health scare and Linc is the one who takes her to the hospital. Overtime, they develop their quasi-friendship into true love.

I liked this book and Ms. Flockton does a terrific job of developing the characters and plot. Meredith and Linc are hot, both in and out of the bedroom. I really liked Meredith's little dog Buster, because he was loaded with personality and charm. The last few chapters were especially exciting, with an epilogue that solidified Meredith and Linc's love.

The Matchmaker’s Match is the third book in Nicole Flockton’s Man’s Best Friend series where the matchmaker meets his own match after a one night stand and a string of bad decisions … who knew that this one night stand will become a turning point that will have an impact on the rest of his life? You can read this story as a standalone but be not surprised if you find yourself reaching for Ethan’s story at the minimum!
Our matchmaker is Lincoln Forest who helped his best friend Ethan to meet the woman of his dreams and who also manages to have a one night stand with the said woman’s best friend Meredith! Can you imagine coming face to face with your one night stand at the rehearsal dinner and you can imagine how both of them are beyond socked! Throw into the mix Meredith’s health scare, four legged cuties, misreading of situations and you get yourself a beautiful story that makes you feel warm and fuzzy and you will find yourself finishing the story in one sitting!

Flockton has become my most favorite surprise author this year! Her books are super cute, super sexy and so funny! This book is easy to read, even being the third in the series. There are small references to the couples in the other books so you definitely want to add them to your list to read.

The Match Maker’s Match is about Linc and Meredith. They have the same friends but haven’t met each other…yet. When they do meet, it is under such special circumstances that you can’t help but cheer for them both.

The fact that Flockton includes dogs and vets in her stories make them unique and fun to read!

The Matchmaker’s Match (Man's Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton
5 stars

Another great story from this series. These may be very quick reads, but what a punch they pack! You get alot of need to know information along with the story and none of the extra fluff, so its a very fast read.
Meredith is best friends with Isabelle, from book 1. You don't need to read that one to read this one, but you'll want to,to get her story. Meredith is starting her plans in motion after life hit her hard. She doesn't expect to see someone from a month ago, or anything that happens after.

I really loved this book, it was different but also sweet and funny. Highly recommend

The Matchmaker's Match is a sweet tale of found love. These two characters are just meant to be. From an explosive one night stand to best man/maid of honor at a wedding and all the other things that bring these two together. I loved watching these two come together and heal each other. Linc was sigh worthy and Buster is just adorable.

*scroll to the bottom for content warnings*

Trope: one night stand to forever
Cover rating: I like what the cover is going for but I get stuck on the animatronic looking dog- it’s just making me think of Salem in Season 1 of Sabrina The Teenage Witch!
Book description accuracy: accurate but glosses over the content warnings in a big (and IMO dangerous) way. “Time of Need” really means detailed telling of ectopic pregnancy & medical termination. Sorry if you don’t want that spoiler but if I had known that was in the book I would not have picked this up. Hits way too close to home.
General review: I want to emphasize that this is a 2 star book for me personally because of how heavy the content is. Had I known all the content warnings in advance, I would never have requested this ARC and would never pick this up on my own. I prefer happy escapism in my books- especially romance. The writing itself was great- the pace was good, I could connect with the characters and the way the heavy content is handled really puts you in their position. If the content is triggering in any way, like it is for me, then it makes for a horrible experience but for those who don’t mind a little sad with their HEA this is a good pick. For the writing I would consider this a 3 star, but I really just wanted the book over ASAP so it knocks it down a star for me. I also don’t think I’ll be picking up the rest of the series as this book hints at the content warnings for the other books: death of a spouse, a disability requiring a service animal
Angst style: cheating misunderstanding
POV: third person, both H & h
Relationship stage reached: married, child; in epilogue
Epilogue? yes

Content warnings: one night stand pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, medical termination, job ghosting, life after military, cheating

Meredith and Lincoln have a one night stand. Meredith thinks his name is a Luke since it’s only one night he doesn’t correct her. They both are headed in new directions in their lives. Fast forward months later they meet up again at a wedding rehearsal come to find out their friends are getting married to one another.

Meredith at first thinks it’s a twin but then finds out it’s the man she had a one night stand with. Most of the story Meredith is confused , she risen wants a relationship but she wants a child she can raise in her own a fill the void she has had since he childhood, which seems like a terrible idea to her best friend Izzy.

She likes Lincoln and he does so much for her but she continually second guesses him. Lincoln is starting a new career but has some setbacks he was a k9 handler in the military. He was surprised to see Meredith again but realizes their is chemistry between them. But of course she gives him a whole lot of back and forth and sometimes even insulting him.
I really don’t know if I like this book or not I’m still undecided and the part towards the end where they both make a huge mistake instead of communication Meredith especially does something stupid that part to me could have been left out. Other than that this was just an okay story for me I rate this one 3 stars.

*Fair warning spoiler alert!*

I was a bit disappointed with this one. From the beginning the conversation between Meredith and Lincoln felt stiff and trite. Both feeling the attraction but the connection was missing. And then things quickly unraveled where she founds out she's pregnant, loses the baby and the next morning she's trying to buy a dog. What the hell happened? Things moved way too quickly. Lincoln while admirely decent guy is plain vanilla even the lovemaking was a snore fest. Just not a compelling romance.

Military romance books are usually my weakness, hot guy on the cover and a dog - just perfect. Linc was a cool guy, spot on with his feelings and being a gentleman but the scene in the shelter bothered me. I just felt his behavior and actions were mean, it took me a bit to get over it. Meredith is sweet, a young teacher recovering from a bad relationship. I feel she should have told Linc about her parents and even the ex boyfriend sooner. The dogs were a fun addition and added to the cuteness of their relationship. This was a fun story, a standalone, however I needed more zip in their coupledom. My copy was from Netgalley, review voluntary.

This book started of as almost DNF since I legit had a note of *insert eye roll* moment. I don't like when authors set up the scene to basically tell you exactly what is going to happen, like an actor that talks into the camera and tell you what is happening. This had a few moments of that, but luckily she redeemed herself. Linc was adorable even when he was totally out of his comfort zone.

Meredith is dead set on having a baby and has decided to use a sperm donor, but when Linc offers to help she thinks twice. Thankfully no huge drama in this one other than a miscommunication but I did like these two together.

I received a copy of The Matchmaker's Match by Nicole Flockton from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, this novel missed the mark for me even though the author DOES have a way with words. I felt that the plot should have been interesting given the story's summary, but the plot wasn't evenly paced (everything was sort of smooched) and the main characters' chemistry was just not believable.

I'd give The Matchmaker's Match by Nicole Flockton 3 stars.

This story didn’t feel like anything special. Mostly it was about bad decisions, a butt load of coincidence and insecurities that should be dealt with in therapy not but falling into another relationship.
Communication is a cornerstone of a good, healthy and strong relationship and there was very little in this except for near the end.

This is the first book in this series that I have read. You don't have to read the series in order or at all to get into this book.

Link and Meredith have a weird story. I was a little thrown by it. Not really romantic, more odd. The story was ok.

Meredith/Mere had lived in a small Guatemalan town for the last year.she had been teaching kids from ages six to sixteen how to read. Now she was in a crowded hotel bar in San Diego on a Friday night. She felt this was what she needed. The next morning she was flying back to San Antonio to a different life than she thought she’d return to. Meredith had been dumped by Mark two days before she flew back. Than a man made a comment on her drink which was a cosmopopotion and she introduced herself. He’ brought up the tv show Sex And the City. The man bought her drink and . she introduced herself and held out her hand for a handshake. When he took her hand a strong spark of electricity went up her arm. Intensifying the already large spark of attraction. She had never felt like that when Mark touched her. The man’s name was Luke{Linc}. She had never done what she was about to do.ark confessed to cheating on her when he ended their relationship the second time, but she had taken him back. She should have stayed broken up with him. For the first time Meredith was going to take what she wanted and tonight she wanted Luke{ Linc} Isabella/Iz was Meredith’s best friend. Meredith leaned over and kissed him Lincoln thought this wasn’t what he was expecting when he walked in the bar. He liked his ability to live his life single and carefree. Linc had never responded so quick to a woman . He had never experienced the flare and intensity of desire before that he was currently feeling with Meredith. Meredith told him she wanted to go to his room. Linc thought maybe correct names weren’t that important for a one night stand. One month later Meredith was concentrating on having a good time at Izzy’s and Ethan’s wedding rehearsal dinner. Meredith was Izzy’s maid of honor and it turned out Linc who she had thought was Luke was the best man. Linc had matched Izzy and Ethan up. Meredith had gotten bad cramps at the dinner and Linc offered to take her home once outside the restaurant meredith had thrown up. Linc ended up taking her to a twenty four hour emergency clinic. Meredith found she was pregnant by Linc but it was atopic and could not proceed with the doctor gave her an injection and Linc took her home. Linc had an urge to buy a dog and then Meredith was near the same puppy and he said he was getting the puppy as he had been there first. They were told to leave and than Linc went back and signed to adopt Buster- the puppy. He went to pick him up and Meredith was there and he ended up giving the puppy to her. Luke had worked with dogs for ten years in the Army.
I loved this book. I loved meredith and Linc together and how they interacted. Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved the relationship Izzy and Meredith had as well as Ethan and Lincoln. I loved the pace and the plot. I didn’t want to put this down and basically didn’t and finished it in one setting. It was such a sweet romance with just enough drama in it. I loved the characters and the ins and out of this book and I
highly recommend it.

The Matchmaker's Match is the third book in the Man's Best Friend series by Nicole Flockton. While there are recurring characters in the series, each book can be fully enjoyed as a stand alone as well. This book is currently scheduled for release on June 18 2019.

The last person Meredith Turner expects to see at her best friend’s wedding rehearsal dinner is the guy she had a one night stand with. What’s worse, Lincoln Forrest is the best man and as maid of honor, her partner. To add insult to injury, she has to leave the rehearsal dinner early, and Lincoln is the one to help her with a deeply personal problem. The aftermath of that night brings big changes for them both. Lincoln Forrest has helped his best friend meet the woman of his dreams, but recently he’s made a series of bad decisions, the biggest being leaving his career with the Army. Now the former K-9 handler is looking for a new career and trying to get his life back on track. Helping Meredith in her time of need connects her to him more than he expected. On a mission to right the wrong he created, Linc will do whatever is needed. But when the attraction that first drew them together flares to life again, will the obstacles between them be too much to overcome? Or has the matchmaker met his match?

The Matchmaker's Match is a sweet romance where the biggest conflicts are Meredith and Linc dealing with their own history, doubts, and mistakes. I liked Meredith's character, and even when I did not agree with her decisions I could understand her thought process and how she got there. With Linc, I just liked his character. He is a good guy that is going through a huge transition in life and trying o find his way. I enjoyed seeing them find each other, support each other, and ultimately find their HEA. I will admit that there were moments where it all felt too simple, too easy for our couple. However, I still really enjoyed the read and often found myself smiling as I read, so it was a winner. Most of all, I found myself interested in some of the secondary characters, so going back to read the one book I missed, and reading the next book (which I hope features Linc's sister) are on my to do list.

The Matchmaker's Match is a heart warming contemporary romance. I was nice to see two characters at a crossroads in their lives find their way together.

The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
Could the best man be her best option?

To add insult to injury, she has to leave the rehearsal dinner early, and Lincoln is the one to help her with a deeply personal problem. The aftermath of that night brings big changes for them both.

But when the attraction that first drew them together flares to life again, will the obstacles between them be too much to overcome? Or has the matchmaker met his match?
This is Meredith Turner and Lincoln Forrest's story.
Friday night and this crowded hotel bar in San Diego was hopping. After living in a small, Guatemalan town for a year, where the loudest noise she’d experienced were the screams of howler monkeys, Meredith Turner paused to adjust to the volume.
This is exactly what I need.
The need to immerse herself in a group of people who didn’t know her or expect her to be the life of the party filled her. She was in town only for the night before her flight back to San Antonio in the morning. Back to a different life than the one she’d thought she’d return to.
He shifted his stool a little closer to hers, again bringing their legs in contact. “I’m about to embark on a new job. I’m looking forward to new experiences.”
“Cool, what’s the job?”
“I’m about to join a new security firm. What about you? What are you doing here?”
The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton is a 3 star book.
