Diego Leoni is used to getting what he wants. He’s one of the best capos the outfit has to offer. Anyone who betrays the outfit, he kills. His first wife knows about that.
Belle Johnson is alone in the city, trying to prove her independence. Blinded in an accident as a child, she can’t rely on anyone. Now, abandoned in a nightclub by her friends, she has to call for help. And Diego answers, being the sweet, kind man, who helps her home.
Diego knows he can’t keep Belle forever. She doesn’t know who he really is, and there’s no way to tell her that the person she’s having sex with is also part of the mafia. Violence is in his blood, and yet, when he’s with Belle, the darkness fades away, leaving just the two of them.
The only problem is, he’s already engaged to another woman, one whom he doesn’t want. But he can’t let Belle go. The only solution is to get Belle pregnant and keep her in his world—without ever letting her know exactly who he is.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
This one was a no for me i love sam books and i really wanted to love this book since our heroine is blind.. but i like my guys not manwhores and sleeping with whores the first 3 pages now i would DNF but i thought i would push on.. also found out he is engaged (engaged part it was after meeting h)..reminder this is my opinion other probably dont give a crap about that, also i hated him lying to her.. he was engaged to another woman belle asked him if he was seeing another woman and he said he wasn't even with anyone else which was somewhat true he never slept with anyone after meeting h but he was still engaged... i cant stand the lies after lies.. He never did anything with this fiance but HE WAS STILL ENGAGED!! Count that as emotional cheating to me.
He never sexually cheated after meeting the h. To me he just emotional cheated since he was still engaged to someone else did dinners, stuff with the mob family with his fiance then after that he would go to belle (h) he was living a double life..
It only got a star for the cover.. I'm sorry i think Belle deserved better then Diego as much as i love ott alphas i couldn't stand him.. :(
Emotional cheating, Mentione of ow & no om drama, drama, sexy times, secondary chars, Manwhore guy (but stop after meeting h) and a virgin gal
Recommend- maybe Cover-⭐⭐⭐⭐
Slowish-insta Push/pull from H No woman after meeting h (he was still engaged but never slept with anyone) Safe sex with ow (atleast he was safe) No condom with h Not safe Disability blind h Torture Hea Epilogue 10 years later

Capo, Diego Leoni is duty-bound to marry Charlotte Durante but he falls for a sweet blind woman named Belle Johnson who was left at his club by her druggie friend, Melanie. As he gets to know Belle better and their attraction grows, Diego is determined to make Belle his. But Belle has a protected father who wants what's best for her and Diego has a jealous-hearted cousin named Angelo who wants his power ASAP! This story is full of suspense and romance but also Diego's not-friend, Richard trying to set up Angelo for raping and killing his sister from years past!
This gripping story will not be for everyone due to the triggers but I really enjoyed it!
Cute story with some good laugh out loud moments. Characters were over the top, but enjoyable. Had a bit of a hard time with the writing style which was very dialogue heavy, made it a little difficult to really get into the story. Definitely an enjoyable read and ill be trying this author again.
Honestly, I expected this story to be like "Scarred Beauty" or "Blind Devotion", both of whom I love oh so very much. Except, that it was not.
Our hero is this ruthless mafia *cough* psychopath *cough* who kills all people who cross him, including his cheating ex wife, betraying friends etc etc. His mob dad fixes him up with an associate's daughter. At the same time, he starts pursuing the blind heroine, from whom he hides his identity, dark and bloody past, as well as his engagement status. They keep having hot sex sans protection, until the heroine's life is in danger and truth is revealed.
TBH the hero was unlikable. He had shades of grey- on one side he was a maniac, on the other he went gaga over the heroine and wanted to impregnate her. I didn't mind the hero banging the whore on the first page of the book, as much as I did when he repeatedly lied to the heroine and murdered everyone around him. I felt bad for the heroine, but love can apparently cure stupid.
I didn't expect to love this book this much ! So Diego is a 40 year old Capo ! Belle is 22 year old blind girl They met at one of his clubs , the minute he saw her he couldn't get her out of his mind 🤗 he tried to walk away because he thought he was only going to hurt her but he couldn't! and from there their journey began , I loved everything especially the 2 epilogues they were so cute 😊

DNF @ 30% - the blurb sounded good. My favorite trope is when the H is engaged/promised/married to someone else, making the h the OW… but the execution here was excruciatingly boring. There is no chemistry. It’s lacking emotion. I’m struggling to connect to the characters. The blind heroine should have been an interesting element but she seemed rather stupid and naive for someone who has been blind since she was a child. She legit gets in a strange man’s car who she met at a nightclub… all she had was his word that he was the owner of the club… he could have been absolutely ANYONE…. And she doesn’t improve as the book goes on. The author chose to make the fiancé a sad shunned mouse of a young girl, so we don’t even get an evil Ow to hate to liven things up.
Meh.

This could have been a whole lot better ... an interesting plot whereby blind h meets mafia king H in a club. He is attracted and starts a relationship with her, all the while being engaged to a suitable woman. h is blind and has no idea that he is not a regular businessman but head of a family. The plot was well developed but I felt that the main characters lacked chemistry. There was a feeling of disconnection between them and I never felt the love they supposedly had ... Also, I felt that the ending resolution didn't make sense; the OW (who was really young and wanted to study) became a teacher and looked forward to helping H and h's kids as a tutor later on .... which made zero sense ... she was also the daughter of a capo, an influential man ... And while I don't profess to know the organized crime sector very well, somehow I fail to see why this H, supposedly a dangerous man and a capo, was pressured into an engagement ... apparently the head of all crime families in the area had the right to make decisions on this H's behalf. So what's the point of him being a powerful man? This took the shine off his 'alphaness' ....
H doesn't cheat as he never even holds hands with his fiancee so that is a good thing ....
So I got sick over the weekend, which is why I’ve been reading a ton of romances…
I actually really liked this. The writing was restrained, I felt a distance to the writing, but it still gave pops of angst, moments of good smut, and I really enjoyed the sweet unfolding of their relationship.
A solid effort. I did lose interest at about the 70% mark, as I didn’t feel there would be any curveballs or surprises and I was right. It hummed and chugged along.
Without the heroine being blind, I think this story would have lost a lot of its charm, but because she was, I was quite curious how their relationship would develop, and there was something so endearing about a mafia man being infatuated with a sweet heroine… and I’m not usually a fan of this pairing because I find it a little dull haha. But I believed their initial attraction and how it grew on her part and his part.
I also enjoy cozy stories, which I enjoyed about this story. What is memorable for me isn’t the mafia marriage machinations, but the small moments of a relationship: a couple getting to know each other, eating together, learning each other’s schedules. It’s the everyday intimacy that feels so cozy.
Well,... I'm not sure about this one. I think the story itself was fine, but it was hard for me to enjoy it because... Well, I didn't liked Belle. She was too naive and a pushover for my liking. Of course, theres nothing wrong to see better side in people, but you still need to use common sense and be careful. Belle sometimes was too trusting and made me to wonder, how she survived for so long? And the way she was with her 'friend' Melanie... Is she was that desperate for friendpish? Or she was plain stupid? Because it was obvious, that Melanie was just using her, because no friend will act like that. I just wanted to slap some sense into Belle. I'm not sure about Diego. He had good 'points' but sometimes he was annoying d¡ck. Lol. But that's the capo in him, I guess. I liked how he was this badass, but turned into marshmallow around Belle. I liked Diego and his not-friend, Richard, dynamics. It was fun to watch them together.
I truly enjoyed this read ♥👍👍 I loved how sweet and caring is Diego with her.. and i understand perfectly why he didn't want to let her know nothing about him being in the mafia..
At the beginning he was an ass*ole, never with her tho 😍 , yes he liked to f**k but he NEVER touched anyone since meting the h, not even his fiancee , i wasn't upset about that fact neither , because in the mafia there are certain rules and i knew he will do something to stop that forced marriage, it wasn't like he wanted her, he never even touched her hand so it was perfect for me.
He truly loved Belle, and yes he didn't tell her about his double life but at the same time i couldn't not melt for him, i just knew they will be happy. He just liked that she didn't knew who he was, and she wasn't scared about him, i can't blame him for wanting a normal relationship.
When he had to agree with the marriage he just meets the h, just talked to her, he didn't have any intentions with her, just after he was forced taking a fiancee he started to think about Belle and know more about her, and again i didn't mind him, i would've mind only if he touched the other girl, but he did not he also never knew he will fall in love with Belle and as soon as he started to feel something about her he tried to find ways to avoid his marriage.
This story was really sweet and safe , our h is possessive and really sweet.
Bella is out with a friend at a club when the friend disappears. Being blind, it's not like she can go anywhere so while sitting there, Diego comes to her rescue. He is immediately attracted to her and takes it upon himself to make sure she's safe. She is at his club after all. This book brought out all the feels in me. Sam Crescent is the queen of writing mafia inspired romance where the hero is a dirty talking guy who doesn't take guff from anyone but will become a possessive alpha guy when the woman he loves is involved. I'm trying to watch my language here! LOL Bella does her best to resist him but of course, he wins her over. What will happen when she finds out who he really is and what kind of life he leads? And when Diego is in danger, will his "not friend" , Richard, stay loyal to him? Oh how I loved the banter between Diego and Richard. It was funny while still being serious!! And then there's Charlotte!!! What is her position in this whole story? Well, I strongly suggest you get the book and find out!! Loved the connection between all the characters. Now I just want stories for Richard and Charlotte!!!!
His Secret Sin... When I heard Sam Crescent was going to try putting out more full-length novels I had to go ahead and give this one a try. For the most part this was a good story. However, the hang-ups for me on this book are completely personal, but at the same time seem to be a constant "thing" I've noticed this author puts in many of her books.
First, we have the naive virgin heroine. What I really hated about Belle was she knowingly was friends with a woman who she knew was taking money from her father to watch her, yet she some how seemed surprised when Melanie finally showed her true colors about being her "babysitter".
Second, we have the manwhore alpha male. I have no problems with a man who sleeps around in the past. What I'm not too keen on is reading about this within the first chapter of the book. What I also didn't like was Diego's problem with lying to Belle. After she confronts him about there possibly being another woman he plainly lies to her about there being no other woman and promises he would never lie to her, yet he just completely lied to her!
I think in regards to Belle's father, I honestly couldn't understand him. He's so protective of his daughter yet he was paying a woman, who I'm going to assume he never met or else he would've seen the track marks from her drug habit, to watch his daughter. Then when he comes to visit Belle he all along knew who Diego was and kept threatening to tell her who he was, but still never told her. He had ample opportunity to and never did.
I’m not sure how to rate this one. I finally took the plunge and read it, but I can’t say it was for the better. I know our h was blind but she was so weak here. Like really weak. I expect more from Sam. Than there is the H, I felt no chemistry there and he lied. A lot. Like a lot a lot. Idk, and then Charlotte.... I just felt really bad for her. Is it sad I now just want a story with her? I feel like she was the most real and redeemable in this story. Ehh. Sams books are hit or miss for me. Nothing in between. This one was just a miss for me.
If this isn't taking advantage of her blindness, I don't know what it is - if she wasn't blind, she would've found out she was the other woman. He basically uses her vulnerability so he can keep sleeping with her, is what this comes across as to me. And what's with the father not telling her straight away that the guy she's in love with is engaged to another woman and is consistently planning said marriage while still sleeping with the h? AND H chooses not to use a condom WITHOUT telling her???? I've never been so put off by a male character. I used to love sam crescent books but there's so many things wrong with this one.
Hero meets Belle a blind girl at his club and starts a relationship with her but neglects to mention anything about himself and the double life that he leads. I found Belle both heroic for trying to lead as normal life as she could since be coming blind, but extremely naive for not questioning those around her especially Diego who uses sex to evade answering the simplest of inquiries about himself. I perservered through and read the book but was disappointed in Belle for not taking more of a stand with Diego when his lies were exposed.

What I liked: I liked how Belle(h) was blind but it didn’t stop her from doing what she loved. I really liked how Diego(H) took care of the “babysitter” especially how she left Belle twice. It was refreshing that Charlotte (the ow he was supposed to marry) was actually a nice person and not evil like most authors usually make the ow out to be.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how Belle still went to her “babysitter” after she left her the first time. It made her character look foolish. Also, there’s some repetition especially with Diego’s thoughts that got annoying after awhile.
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Details/Triggers: h is blind and goes out with her “friend” (which we later find out is a babysitter the h’s dad pays to watch out for the h), leaves the h at the club. H comes to her rescue and likes that she doesn’t know who he is. H tells her that he owns the club, which he does, but leaves out that he is the Capo of the city. His dad informs him that he has to marry a woman that will bring ties to the mafia. Of course the H doesn’t tell the h. Later she goes to see the babysitter and she says really mean things to the h. h leaves her but gets kidnapped. The H finds out and saves her. h’s dad comes to visit her and knows who the H is and tells him he has to the end of the week to tell the h. Later h with her dad and the H get shot at and her dad is shot. H tells his dad to take care of the h and he tells her about the H. Of course, she wants to leave but the H tells her she isn’t going anywhere and that she could be pregnant. At the end, H comes up with a plan so he doesn’t have to marry the ow and him and h get their HEA (married with children).
Final thoughts: This was an ok read. The repetitive made me give it 3 instead of 4. Definitely will read more books from this author.

The hero is a mafia leader and the heroine is this cute shy blind girl who I liked a lot. The hero however didn't seem that much likable to me. Since the h can't see him he thinks that be can have a fresh start with her without her judging him for his past or what he does. So he never tells her about his relations with the mafia and let's her think that he is this simple plan working a job and there is nothing dangerous in his life. That made sense to me since yeah, it must be tiring for him to be judged by his past and profession. But the one thing I didn't like was that he already had a fiancee. He was to be married with her and just wanted to keep the heroine as a mistress. Still I kept reading because I expected grovel but was again disappointed. This author us known for her amazing grovels but I don't know why there was none in this one. The hero just wants her to move on from what he did without any explanation anything which didn't sit right with me.
However towards the end you can see that he truly loves her and manages to turn things in their favour so that he can marry her, and that soothed me a lot!
Meh. Had to quit as I wasn't enjoying this at all. I was excited to read about a blind heroine for the first time but Belle was ridiculous. She doesn't have a walking stick and just relied and people to lead her around. She refuses to get a seeing eye dog since hers died as a kid and she was grieving. Girl your ass is blind, you need help getting around independently! Too naive for words. Her friend takes her to a new nightclub and ditches her but she decides to go out with said friend again who proceeds to ditch her again. She keeps insisting she could take care of herself but kept making TSTL choices that put her in danger. Diego wasn't Alpha enough for me since he's let himself be forced into getting engaged. Not sure how a 4o yr old man can be peer pressured into marriage. The drama with his cousin wanting his capo title was repetitive. Don't really get why he was into Belle. Then there was something about the author's writing that didn't jive with me. Not sure SC's books are for me.
I liked the storyline of this book, what i didn't like was how it felt like poor Belle was being taken advantage of. Melanie i could have told you from the start she was a terrible person. From the first time you meet her, she left her 'friend' alone in a club and she's blind, really WTF... What kind of friend are you. And then Belle goes out with her again, now that is your own fault. Diego, i liked him. And yes he wasn't honest with her, but you can see that he really cares about her. And in the mafia world born and bred, you have to follow the rules and follow your legacy. So i understand the omition.
Sweet, and sometimes dangerous and a lot of sexy steamy moments make up for the other things i didn't like.
If I recall correctly this is the 2nd crescent book I've read and I'm not sure they're for me. This book is what I call a palate cleanser. Doesn't demand anything from the reader but it's an ok read. The romance is sweet, and so is the h. The H is a criminal and a killer, we get a lot of those in 'dark' romances, but in this case, while the H may have been in the anti hero mould I wouldn't call it dark just because there's a lot of talk about how many people he's killed. Dark romances with their savagery make me want queasy and I often skim the gory bits. This was almost fluffy in comparison. Even the ow scenario is dealt with in a very politic manner. Nothing to tie our guts into a knot about.
She's "His Secret Sin," But How Long Can He Keep Her Secret...
He's Keep'n "His Secret Sin" in the dark... In more ways than Her Blindness can hide! You see, he's Hid'n his identity, cuz around "His Secret Sin" he feels like a mere Man, which is unique & something he just can't quite set aside no matter how hard he tries. But when "His Secret Sin" learns the truth, will His lies be justified!?! Hot Dang~ Sam Crescent has done it again! What an exciting escape from reality... She's brought Curvy Gals, HEAT, Drama, Hunky Characters (Ohhh Yes, Bring on those Alpha Males!), & all the feels needed for Smexxy RoMANce together into the perfect fantasy with an HEA to die for~ It's the perfect read that makes me Yearn, Dream, Sigh, Cry, Beg, & in the End Always, ALWAYS Plead for just a Li'l bit More each & every single time!
I liked the premise of big bad, mafia Alpha Hero meets & pretty much insta-wants quiet, accepting, blind heroine. It felt different, mysterious & exciting. The problem was... the heroine, Belle, desperately needed a personality injection. She was just kinda 'blah' & bit too doormat-ish once she got to talking & that was a huge letdown.
I will most definitely read more books by this author but this won't be a re-read for me.
Side Note: Not the 'cream' word in sexual situations again... #barf
MF. Entertaining read. Story is free flowing and enjoyable to read. Belle is blind. Diego is Capo of the city. He does take advantage of her inability to see, to hide and manipulate her surroundings and what she knows. Yes he is engaged while seeing Belle, sleeping with Belle and pledging his life to be with her.
4 stars I really enjoyed reading his secret sin. It has a unique story plot with a blind heroine and one super alpha mafia capo. It's insta love and lust but that did not bother me much, the writing is good, it's 3POV and i m not always keen on this type of writing but i did not let that ruin this book for me. This book is large, 300 + pages so that gives space for a story and character development.
