amazing collection of the history of saving the redwoods! so thorough, sometimes too thorough, about all the individuals and organizations who protected these trees. i was really bummed the book glossed over the sad history of the SRL with the founders being eugenicists and all, an important part of the story in my opinion. learned so much, such a great read. women rock

An excellent non fiction describing the battle to save a precious national resource. It meant more to me since I have just returned from a trip to see the redwoods.

I would have loved to see a map of the region with specific groves included as a visual. Parts of this felt unnecessarily long or a bit redundant, but it was inspiring nonetheless and I have even greater respect and admiration for the women who saved the redwoods.
