Another Bible-type book we had in our house when I was younger.
The International Children's Story Bible is a collection of biblical tales taken from the original source and trimmed down to a summary telling for young readers while offering the teaching message that should be taken from that entry at the end.
Given it was made with children in mind, the most violent and mature themes have not been shared with the exception of the cross. Otherwise the book is broken down into two parts based on the same division in the original material but large gaps are between most stories.
Once the book ends with Paul's shipwreck, it dedicates itself to providing readers with simplified explanations and summaries for living the Christian life as taken from the rest of the books of the New Testament.
The book is dedicated with artwork provided by children around the world - mostly in crayon but also at least one water painting. Given the ages of these industrious illustrators there are a lot of stick figures or cartoonish disproportionate forms but that is children for you and at their age I would have probably done worse. Even so as well, though, these illustrations are what makes this book stand out after so long.
All in all it isn't the Bible per se but will work in getting the good news out to those who need to hear it while celebrating children whom Jesus invited to come to Himself.
