This is a very complex story with lots of plots and sub-plots set in a different universe. At first I struggled to get into the story as I didnt understand what was going on and a lot of the terminology didnt make much sense. As I persiviered i managed to get hold of what was going on as the main characters emerged as did the prime storyline and from there on as things unfolded i enjoyed the characters and the story.
Science fiction for adults. No not like that… This is storytelling at its absolute best.
Too often Sci-fi is sanitized as to not offend anyone. This is not one of those storyline. This is raw, in a future world that isn’t petty however, it is very real. This telling is gritty in a cinematic way. You feel the characters, you understand the motivation and pain. This is not gloom and doom it is finely crafted science fiction and one of the best reads of the year.
If you hate rich people and straights this is your book!
Kyle Harris can write,no doubt about that. Also if the whole Christian thing bums you out, you'll find this book to your liking. You'll also find this book to be great if you think capitalists are boot-licking scum and Antifa members are heroic fighters for equality instead of spoiled brats whose every whim has been catered to since birth. I recommend it.
Confusing start but persevere. The universe is convincing and believable the characters well drawn and dimensioned and the story is well told and complete. Recommended
