This was a good read. Andre's ex is fighting him for custody of their daughter. He needs to settle down and quit his bad boy ways. While throwing his last big party he meets Amber. He asks her to be his fake fiance. Of course the more time they spend together the more it becomes real. Thankfully in the end the truth about his ex comes out and everything works out.

When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

I received this book as a gift through Booksprout to read as an advanced read and I would like to give my hones opinion of what I think of this book.
Marcella has really out done herself with this book. The main characters in this story are so real I could feel their emotions flowing through out the book. It is one of those stories that the people are of one mind set at the beginning of the story but as you go along in their lives you witness their personnel struggles, understand what and why they are feeling the way that they do. But you see through help and support each one grows into the person that they were meant to be. Also how they grow to appreciate each other, and have one common goal. What is best for Emma Andre’s little girl.
Andre Gilot is a world renown tennis player. He was once married to Caroline Louvet some sort of duchess. His ex Caroline is taking him to family court to try and obtain full custody of the little girl Emma. The Judge had ordered him to change and had given Andre a year to prove that he could provide a stable nurturing environment for his daughter. That he would be able to control his temper and not go on the rampage that he was so notoriously known for on the tennis court as his lawyer put it, he also suggested that he find a stable relationship and stop being a womanizer. To also stop the wild partying that he was know for as well. For course Andre was upset with this news. He had already scheduled a huge party at his home that night and this is where fate stepped in.
Amber Fisher is what you would call a starving artist. She works for a catering service to keep a roof over her head, and to pay her bills. On a day that is supposed to be her day off she is called in because her boss has and emergency. They just happen to be working the party that Andre is throwing and it is while she is going over the list of drinks that Andre is introduced to her. He is instantly drawn to her, but doesn’t really make any type of move on her. It is after the party when he is with his friend that he see her while she is cleaning up and places a wager with her. If she can return this serve while he is blindfolded and has one arm tied behind his back he will pay her $100,000. If not she will have to be his nanny for one year. The money of it blew away her common sense, and she accepted the bet. Right after she did he included being his fake fiancee as well.
Will the two of them be able to pull this off? Especially when Caroline has so much more than just to take away Andre custody on her mind. It is amazing the lengths that this woman will go. There is an another character in the story. Magnus Clausen his rival on the tennis court and the one person that was constantly bringing Andre’s temper to the front. Great story to see how Amber and Andre work through all of these obstacles and to see the outcome.

This is Book 4 in the Santa Barbara Secrets series.
Andre is a French world class tennis player whose five year old daughter Emma is his biggest love. Emma and Tennis are all that matters to Andre. His ex Caroline is doing everything to take away his rights to his daughter. It doesn't help that he is playing into her arms with his womanizing and partying's. Andre finds it hard to keep his emotions in check when he is on the court shouting and showing aggression but only on the court, never in front of his beloved daughter. After being told by his lawyer he needs to get to grips if he doesn't want to lose Emma. Andre throws one more and the last party to remember.
Amber is a struggling artist who works for a catering company to pay the bills. When she gets a call to work a party she jumps at the extra cash so she can get back to her Art. This is where she meets Andre. Andre is eager to learn more about Amber and her Art. But Amber doesn't jump to his charms and its not till the end of the night that Andre calls Amber over to met his close friends. This is where a slightly drunk Andre bets Amber that if she can return a serve from him he will pay her $100,000 for some of her art, if she cant she has to work for him for a year as his nanny and his fake fiancé. Before she knows it she is on his tennis court and losing his dare.
Can this work? 1 year is nothing and it gives Amber more time on her Art. Will Emma even like Amber? Can she pretend to love Andre??
This is a fantastic read that is so beautiful and wonderful it left my heart singing. A brilliant read I am super excited to read the next book in this series and anything new coming from Marcella Swann.

Andre is your bad boy tennis player that finds that his tantrums on court and debauched lifestyle off court may have caught up to him. If he doesnt change his life around on and off court he is at risk losing joint custody of his daughter.
Amber finds herself on the tennis court with a blindfolded Andre who has challenged her....if she returns his serve she gets one hundred thousand dollars and if she misses she pretends to be his fiancee and his daughters au pair for a year.........
I actually laughed when Amber tells Andre that she knows when he is translating something directly into English from French...... because this whole book to me was like a bad translation.....the spelling and grammar was shockingly bad and i felt like that there was a whole lot of pages missing in the book because nowhere can i find the part where Amber and Andre had their first sexual encounter......because obviously there was as Andre keeps referring to it throughout the story.....all i know is that there was a kiss before they were interrupted by Andre's daughter.
Maybe it was the advanced reader copy I read and the final published piece isnt as bad, but from my point of view this was a story lacking proper editing with huge plot holes....
I really hate giving negative reviews but this was just unacceptable....

Marcella totally nailed this bad boy 100% on point, true to life form in this page turning delight. Rolling along with one dramatic storyline and gripping plot bring this bad boy together beautifully. Sparks fly as confusion, mayhem and suspense ensues in epic proportions. Struggling through all the trials and tribulations keeping pace with an abundance of twists and turns along with a few bumps and bruises propel this baby to life flawlessly. The chemistry between the two main characters is sizzling, smoldering and sultry. The characters are authentic, approachable and realistic with such depth and individuality it flows along fluidly without a glitch. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Marcella, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Love isn't only for Tennis games!
A great novel to read. Andre & Amber met at his party that he was hosting. He desperately wants to be in his daughter's life & an excellent solution is to find a woman who will succeed to ground him, keeping his temper under control & showing the judge he's not the playboy, he's settling down & is the responsible father, not his ex. His ex continues to push his buttons & he wants to fly off the handle from her underhanded tricks but Amber distracts him enough so that he learns to be calm around the ex.
He doesn't want to give his ex any extra reasons & ammo convincing the judge she is the best parent & he is not. With Amber agreeing to pretend for a year, they're engaged & be convincing enough for the judge, Andre will be the obvious choice for full custody. With all of this pretending, they play their roles way too well & this fantasy is becoming more realistic the more they are together.

She becomes his "fake fiancee" to give an appearance of stability and credibility. What they didn't plan on was for them to fit so well together. His ex is up to quite a few shenanigans, too, so there is no dull moment in this book.
I loved the interaction between Amber and Andre, and Emma was such a little sweetheart. The dual POV was great and the sexy times were not over played. Enjoyable read.

This is the fourth book in the Santa Barbara Secrets saga and each one has got better while each story can be read separately I would recommend that you read them all You won't be disappointed

Amber is the perfect foil for Andre she manages to calm his outlook on life and his volatility without taking away that spark that makes him himself.

Bet and strong temperament to temper
Good story quite tender, very well written, with a false relationship whose the originality is the beginning: Andrew, French professional tennis, easily irritable, playboy, arrogant, but especially father of a little girl, must change his lifestyle and prove that he can keep the partial custody of his daughter and for that, he proposes a challenge to a waitress, Amber, during a party he organizes. If she wins, he buys her one of her art, if she loses, she will have to be her au pair and her fake fiance for a year. The conditions seem so unachievable for Amber, that she accepts and finds herself the next day embarking on this adventure, at the heart of an investigation facing a former manipulative spouse, and attracted by this father with a fiery temperament.

I enjoyed the story of Amber, Andre and his daughter Emma! I thought the chemestry between Amber and Andre seamed real, and I enjoyed his journy from party boy to serious tennis player and rather! Their story starts with his need for a fake fiance to keep custody of his child, and Amber seems like a perfect choice! Since Amber is an artist and his five year old daughter is very much interrested in art, it is a good mach! Some temper, attempts of sabotage, an angry ex-wife, a plot and some other missunderstandings in the mix, and you have a story with a good story line and it keeps the interrest in finding out how it all ends!

Very good read by Marcella Swann. Andre is an amazing world champion tennis player. He is also partier and a player with a small daughter. He also has quite the temper on the tennis court. Joint custody was going great with his ex-wife until she decides to take him to court for full custody. His only option is to pretend to settle down with one woman. When he meets Amber, she is a server at his last big party before changing his ways. After tricking Amber with a bet, she agrees to pay the happy fiancé and be a care giver for Emma, his daughter. Not only will the money help with bills, but she can devote more time on her art. A perfect partnership right? Only what happens when Andre and Amber begin to fall in love? 5 stars!

This book was great! Andre Gilot is a professional tennis player. He is arrogant, short-tempered, and a total party boy. However, the one thing that matters most to him is his 5 year old daughter, Emma. Currently he has joint custody of Emma with his ex-wife, Caroline but she wanted to get back in front of a judge for her to get full custody. He was talking to his friends and decided the best way to keep joint custody was to get engaged. That would portray him as settling down and giving up the partying lifestyle. He meets Amber at the last party his decides to hold and makes her a deal she can't refuse to the sum of 100K! She will agree to be his daughter's nanny and fake fiancee for one year. But anything can happen in a year, right?

Andre sums it up right as he said “I had chosen Amber to try and avoid actually having to settle down, and then ended up finding the perfect person to settle just enough with; I didn’t have to give anything up, and I had someone who could be the ideal stepmother to my child, and the exciting partner I needed.”
The story is well written though there were some minor typos. Andre is so full of himself at the start but he manage to redeem himself through out the story. It was wicked of Andre to trick Amber into becoming his fiancée, and so does his friend for helping him.

This is a story about Amber (a service provider who was a server at his last party) Andre (a world champion tennis player and a player off the court) and Emma (Andre’s small 5 year old daughter) everything is moving along swimmingly until the ex wife decides she wants full custody. Now Andre needs to prove that he has settled down with one woman. Enter Amber, she lost a bet with Andre so now she is pretending to be his fiancé. The money he pays her will help with her bills but what happens if they fall for each other. Well read on and find out.

Disappointing for me.
Could not get a liking for Andre in this story. For a professional sportsman and also being a single dad, he just didn't seem responsible enough. To dream up making Amber his fake fiancée was idiotic too. Amber was more appealing particularly the relationship she developed with Emma, Andre's daughter. However, I felt that Amber was a little too gullible. Emma saved this story for me.

Loved the book the storyline was well written and the characters were interesting. Andre is a single father that shares custody of his daughter with the ex wife Caroline. Andre that loves to party and now he needs to stop the party boy antics, he met Amber she was working with a catering company, Andre made a deal with Amber to be his fake fiancee.

Speechless. This was a great read! I enjoyed this story. It was exciting and romantic. Andre turns out to be a world class alpha male that knew how to treat a woman to make her feel special even if their relationship started out fake. Andre and Amber become a team to ensure that Andre keeps joint custody of his daughter and maintain a proper home for Emma. This book is a great romance read! An enticing, entertaining, and pretty fabulous story of Andre, tennis player extraordinaire, and Amber, artist extraordinaire, and their fake engagement. Andre's daughter, Emma, was the light of his life and he would do almost anything to retain the joint custody arrangement with his ex. Caroline, his ex, was trying to get full custody. I highly recommend Speechless by Marcella Swann.

A wonderful bet turned nanny becoming a fake to real sports romance. This amazing storyline includes an angry ex, drama, sabatoge attempts, misunderstandings, under handed tricks, and great chemistry. It is told from dual POVs and includes great interactions in this sizzling sexy enjoyable story. This well written story with fantastic charcters kept me addicted from beginning to end. I have never had a thing for tennis players (well except Paul Bettany in "Wimbledon") or Frenchmen, but I may have to change my ways!! Andre is yummy! I love Amber also...she was a perfect match for Andre! Emma was beyond cute, and while gifted in art, the author didn't make her an annoying super genius which I loved!

An outstanding and enjoyable read! The storyline is well-developed, well written, and relatable. It is drama-filled, funny, and witty; a fun fast pace romance with intriguing characters. A fake romance with ups and downs adding to the overall enjoyment of this book. Definitely recommended!

Good read. Even though Andre was a bad boy, he cared for Emma his daughter. Picking a regular working class lady to help him with his plan was the best choice he him. Most tennis players are hot heads. Amber taught him action speaks louder than words. The end was the way it should have been written.
