Summer in New Orleans means hot days, humid nights, and the constant threat of hurricanes. Like most people in the Big Easy, Laz has weathered his fair share of storms, but the city is about to get hit by the biggest hurricane in recorded history, a hurricane with a supernatural source. As the people around him prepare to evacuate, Laz is pulled into a game of cat and mouse with the Norse god, Loki. To survive, he’ll have to work with old enemies and make a few new friends. To win, he’ll have to beat the trickster god at his own game. Even if he somehow survives Loki’s traps, he’s got the hurricane to deal with and the monster behind it, one not even gods know how to stop. Laz has always been good at thinking outside the box, but how do you tame a hurricane? Don't miss the thrilling ninth installment of The Lazarus Codex ! Scroll up to buy your copy today!
Dark Horse (The Lazarus Codex Book 9) - a review by Rosemary Kenny
Dark Horse is Book 9 of 9 - the grand finale to The Lazarus Codex series by E.A. Copen. Loki a Norse god, (Thor's Brother and Odin's second son) sought to seize control of Earth. Having released the Titan, Typhon to destroy and rebuild our planet, Loki soon realised his error and now compels MC Lazarus ('Laz') Kerrigan, [a necromancer and Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Biblical Apocalypse], to fulfill a debt Laz owes him, to prevent Earth's destruction that is beginning already with an epic storm that will wipe out New Orleans for a start, before devastating the rest of the planet and maybe even the rest of the universe.
Laz will need to use all his powers as The Pale Horseman/Death, plus all his necromantic magic, the help of human and supernatural and the souls of four mystic beings - including a Horseman - from all pantheons and ages around the globe and beyond, before it's too late to stop Typhon, save the city he loves and lives in - and then the whole universe.
Can he make it? What happens when Laz has to visit the Court of the Summer Queen? Who is Pony D and how does he affect the outcome of events? How does Laz free Emma from Loki's power over her?
With never a break in the action and tense, dramatic interactions between good and evil, you'll be compelled to keep turning the pages of this outstanding fantasy series that you'll remember for a very long time to come. Why not get the whole series, for long-lasting reading pleasure and memories of a great book?
Awesome book! As you read this book many things will happen. Several characters are undergoing changes. Lots of action, mystery and plot twists abound! You will see all four horsemen , Beth, Emma, of course Loki but surprises will come from Hades, Oden, Finn, Moses Moses and Pony. Be ready for the ending and have some Kleenex ready as you will need it! There are some unanswered questions so we know there will be another book. Keep writing E.A. Copen as this is an excellent series which I highly recommend!
Dark Horse is Book 9 in The Lazarus Codex series. Laz's ability to overcome vast odds is truly tested in this book. He must gather a team of characters, both good and bad, to help him defeat another Titan and save the ones he loves as well as the world. As always, Ms. Copen has upped the limits to phenomenal in world building and character development. This addition to The Lazarus Codex series is beyond awesome. I highly recommend this book and series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
As always, never a dull moment and c s itches you up till the point of f o forgetting things around you.
Book 9, Dark Horse was just as good as previous 8. It makes you think about where you stand in life and what impact your death will have on the world. It puts a spin on Greek Mythology to where you can almost imagine how things really were. I'm in love with this series of books. If you haven't already started from book 1, then get started. You won't regret it...other than when you have no more books to read.
This book is just as good as the previous 8, which can be a bit of a challenge as you have to keep true to the flavor of the books and somehow keep them fresh and new as well. The author manages this wonderfully. This book introduced Loki, which means you know it will be a good time and it fulfills that promise.
As always another great story from the world of Lazarus. I can't describe what happens without leaving spoilers and the book's too good for that - so just go buy it already and enjoy!
Non-stop action and magic, and a lot of hard decisions in this edge of your seat story. Few things are easy in Lazarus’s life. It’s almost a parody of real life. Lazarus says it best, “There will always be another monster to kill, another god hell-bent on ending life as we know it.”
