****Bad Boy Royals of Kingsbury Prep is loosely based on a true life prep school only for Royals.

Take her down. Make her leave.
Kingsbury Prep is a 500 year old institution.
The most elite of prep schools that almost every student has royal blood.
A commoner like Tempest Ryan does not belong.
We will break her, break her will, break her heart.
She will wish she never step foot into Kingsbury.

We have declared war on her. The envelope has been tossed. Black.

Anyone is game.

***

I didn't asked to go to Kingsbury Prep. My little sister secretly sent in an application.

I know I am nowhere near the ideal student for Kingsbury Prep.

But I won't be pushed out of anywhere just because three spoiled brats known as the Royals deemed it so.

Living on the streets, managing to go to school, work part-time at any odd job to take care of my sister taught me how to fight.

And dream of a better life.

I won't let them take away that dream for my sister. I won't let them win.

They declared war on me and the whole school is game.

Well, boys...you're in for a ride. Because you picked on the wrong girl. I'm capable of anything your royal butts can't even imagine. I don't play games. Life is tough enough already. But since you started it, watch your backs because I'm not called Tempest for nothing.

***TEMPEST is a reverse harem/mature high school bully romance novel. This is book one of six in the series. Contains foul language and sexual scenes; any sex featured is consensual.

DNF - I can't finish this one no matter how hard I try.

I can't and won't even rate it.

I know the author behind this pen name and it is excruciatingly hard to not finish this one.

However, there were too many issues with this book that I just couldn't get behind it. Not just with the story, but with the plot, how scenes play out and some content issues. This book felt rushed and needs a lot of fleshing out.

The premise of the book sounds good, but very poorly executed which hurts the overall plot.

I really do wish I could have loved this one.

I believe the book is supposed to be an extended version of a script. It shows. And I would definitely prefer the movie to the book.

The story is extremely fast paced, with insta love, insta late, insta lust, insta everything. The succession of scenes is not particularly logical, often over the top and sometimes ridiculous.

Ridiculous like having a Crown Princess walking the hallway with a shotgun. Kingsbury Prep hosts all the royals of the world and they are seriously all fucked up. People should feel secure at having them at the head of their country, hm? Terror all over again.

Concerning the characters, Tempest gives a new meaning to Mary Sue. To be perfectly honest, in a movie, she would just be a baby Lara Croft. In a book... well, let's say the female lead halo is phenomenal -and obnoxious.
To begin with, her name is Tempest while her sister is called Lily. No offense to the Lilys, but there is no doubt on whom is going to be an eventual book protagonist in the end. Tempest is also 18, a high school student, a bike messenger, a martial artist, a tattoo artist, is referenced to a goddess for her looks every chapter, is emancipated and has been the sole legal guardian of her little sister for two years, won a ton shit of money in a single fight at the beginning of the book and has crown princes willing to give up their country for her in a couple of weeks. Hashtag so jealous. And I don't believe in any of her past hardship with a halo as bright as hers.
And the other characters, well, they had no other personality than being batshit crazy or drooling over Tempest's looks.

That being said, as not good as it was, I kinda really want to read the next book.

For my last review of the night, it's back into the world of Bullymances and Reverse Harems with Rachel Angel aka Kailin Gow's new series the Bad Boy Royals of Kingsbury Prep. This book starts out with Tempest Ryan looking out for her sister Lily and being the best guardian that she can for her by doing whatever she can to earn money - which the latest stunt was winning an underground fighting match. When Tempest arrives home with her lawyer, she is faced with two options - to take a fighting contract for a year or accept a place as the first-ever commoner scholarship recipient to Kingsbury Prep. Kingsbury Prep is an academy that for the past 500 + years have only taken students of Royal Bloodlines. When Tempest arrives she is in for a shock as the Queen Bees and her sidekick Q2 try to kill her, then she watches them have a threesome with one of the K3's. The K3's are the hottest Princes of the school. During the first part of the book, the leader of the Q2's Veronica will do everything in her power to get rid of Tempest even if it means killing her with her Remington. This girl is an all-out psycho. The K3's soon realize there is something special about Tempest and take her under their wings and of course start to fall in love with her, though they know their families won't accept a commoner as a girlfriend. I loved near the end that Tempest received some awesome news as I was like yay, things can finally go her way - this, however, was very shortlived as Veronica returns and Black Envelopes Tempest which as we learn the last time someone was black enveloped by Veronica as she felt threatened, they ended up dead. Tempest ends on a cliffhanger and I grabbed Book #2 also available on KU - Black Envelope as I am hoping Tempest will overcome Veronica's wrath and be the last female standing.

PER Amazon, this book is 246 pages. CLICK HERE for proof, bitches. Also, if a librarian of GR could please add this to GR - I would be forever in your debt. Unless I hate you...then you get nothing.

Tempest was another bully RH book that I devoured. Since I first saw this on KU, I was really excited to dive into it. THEN, I realized how cruel KU really was because it was showing me books that I could read but also couldn't.. because it was coming out on a later date. Real cruel KU. Luckily for me. I totally forgot when this was actually coming out and clicked on it with excitement when I saw it was available!

Low and behold, I devoured this thing. I really liked Tempest and it always intrigues me how rich people don't know how to deal with someone beneath them. A normal person. A peasant even - trust me, this one girl screams peasant plenty of times. She was a real twat if you ask me.

As for the bullying and the romance, eh - they were okay. Not my favorite but I'm also not really complaining about it. Again, I flew through this thing so I had to like something. I feel like I'm still confused about the whole black envelope thing - I'm assuming it's just another level of bullying. More like hardcore? I have no idea.. but I guess I'm down for this whole thing.

Overall, Veronica is a twat and needs to be taken down. Let's see what damage this 'black envelope' will do to Tempest.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I got so excited when this book when live and I got it on my kindle. I thought I knew what I was in for and I was happy to be wrong. I enjoyed setting. A school on an island that is a castle. I loved how Tempest was strong and did not let anyone back her down regardless of what miseries came her way. The book did have few minor editing issues but they did not take away from the overall storyline and my enjoyment of the book. The only thing I would change if could was a little bit more work on how K3 interacts with Tempest. It was a little too quick. But I so want to get my hands on the next one. The ending made my heart is still pounding and wondering what is going to happen next.

Get ready for a whole new take on a bully academy romance. I have read quite a few books in this genre and this one is definitely a unique take. I really loved how the FMC was a total bada$$! She can completely take care or herself and doesn't take crap from anyone. I am excited to see where this series goes in the next books. There were a few small typos and I wish it would have been longer! Overall if you love bully, academy, or both then grab this book you won't be disappointed!! I am excited to read the rest!

Tempest (the MFC) starts at an elitist school full of snobbish, entitled royals and nobility as students in this book. Of course they have absolutely no intention of making Tempest welcome because they want her out of there as soon as possible. What starts out as a power play between Tempest, the rest of the students and the head of the elite K3 - Kaz, Orion and Hunter ends in a completely different way. I had thought id worked out where this book was going to end but blimey i didnt see this coming. My jaw actually hit the floor when i read it! Still its a fabulous start to this series and i loved reading it

Good Start to new series

The story is very fast paced, steamy and intense. Because the storyline moves so quickly we don’t get a chance to really get to know the main characters as well as we would like. There is still a lot of the story and background that we don’t know yet. I am hoping the next book sheds more light on each of the main characters. They each seem to be fierce, strong and loyal. Tempest is a very strong woman who can take care of herself in any situation. I found her witty and funny. Hopefully everything works out for her in the next book as the cliffhanger ending was pretty serious.

Such an amazing read!! This is a new to me author and all I have to say is WOW!!! I could not put this book down once I started it last night! This book intrigued me from the very beginning! I love Tempest! I think she is a complete BADASS!! Fierce protector of her sister and does not let others deter her from her end goal. Kaz, Ori and Hunter!! What can I say, swoon worthy alpha princes! These 3 boys change once they know the real Tempest. Now Veronica, that B****! I can't stand her and I hope she gets hers at the end. I am dying for book 2!

Well...

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed the plot, tremendously. That being said, the way that time seemed to lapse made it a little hard for me to follow.
I’m hoping in the following books that the Kingsbury/Tempest story is a little more fleshed out, as it seemed to have sprung up out of nowhere.
Veronica is a very easy character to hate. Like from the first greeting.
The steamy scenes are definitely that.
Overall, I enjoyed and am looking forward to the next.

Loved it!

This is a fast burn RH with hot as fire princes. Tempest has had some bad things happen in her life but she has the determination to rise above. Being pushed into a whole new world of hot princess and crazy princesses she still is determined to fight through. Can’t wait to see what is next for tempest and her men.

An amazing story

The first book in what will be a truly amazing series. I truly adore and admire Tempest so much for how strong she is and all that shes taken on and the fact she will not bow down to anyone. Really could not put down once I started and now in desperate need for the next book to see how things go down with them all!

WOW! Pick up this quick read to get a fresh and different look at bully romance. Like an adrenaline ride, Tempest is witty, funny, and bold. The scenes are downright hilarious in a brilliant way, and the men are swoon-worthy. Tempest is no victim and even when the whole damn school tries to bully her, she doesn't bend and act like a victim. She kicks them back and to the curb. THAT is what a heroine is all about. Love this book. Love it for it's anti-bully message. Love this heroine.

This was a very fast paced read for me. Great story line, love the castle! Good spin on the bully angle. It was nice to see the change up in the ways her guys 'behaved'. The only thing I would have liked even more was more build up between her and the guys, but that's personal preference! Minor editing issues but overall a good read!

This book was not good. It started out strong and I was excited for a strong heroine but the book went downhill so quick I got whiplash.

To summarize the book. Tempest is an orphan with custody of her little sister at the age of 16. They were rich until the parents died and then they lost everything and lived in an RV and she is supposedly a tattoo artist (under the age of 18?) and she is an untrained underground fighter who beats the undefeated big guy (insert eye roll). Then her 11 yeAr old sister applies to a spot in a royal high school for her. Of course she gets in without having any royal blood. In comes 3 crowned princes who almost immediately fall in love with her and her first interactions with them involve sexual situations. She very half attemptedly tries to tell them off and then falls in love with them in like 3 days. Oh right the 11 year old sister randomly calls her to tell her she is descended from the people who started the school and are above royals (insert another eye roll). There’s some drama and then cliff hanger ending.

I will not even be tempted to continue this series. It was extremely rushed and not well laid out. I must say this series could of had so much potential.

I really was really excited to read this book it’s been sitting on my Amazon wish list for ages! And I really enjoyed this book!! Tempest is a young girl who is strong girl who is struggling to look after herself and her sister after their parents have sadly passed away, I truly admired the way that Tempest stepped up to be her sisters guardian and take over responsibilities. Her sister has sent an application of to Kingsbury Prep, it’s the place Royals are educated and she’s going to be the first non royal! After this is when the trouble starts and it’s known to her how she’s not wanted there! Tempest meets her Princes the K3’s And I’ve taken a really big dislike to Victoria! I need book two especially after that ending!!

Great book

This book was really good. It starts out showing you how strong a character Tempest is. When she gets to Kingsbury she has to battle to stop being forced to leave. Until she gets the support of the k3's. With a few twists you will not be disappointed

I really enjoyed the storyline in this book and Tempest with her no take bull attitude! Also the different scenes in the story where great especially with tempest and the 3k's. I would of like to see more of an interaction with Tempest and the 3k's with them getting to know each other before jumping full force into an intimate relationship. Otherwise I truly enjoyed this book and am definitely looking forward to the next in the series. Great Job Rachel and thank you for the opportunity of reading a copy of this book.

Certainly a new and different take on the same old bully romances. Tempest is an underground fighter who used to come from a wealthy background, but lost everything. She ends up being the first non-royal attending a school just for royals. Now comes the bullying. Tempest is an amazing and smart main character. She's also very strong. She doesn't care about slut-shamers or mean girl bitches that thinks they're better. Tempest is meant to be over-the-top. Can't wait to see the film.

Underground fighting keeps her and her sister housed with their heads above water.

A double windfall creates lucrative options. What to do, which path to follow.

They are the three princes that rule over the student body. Who decide the fate of others.

One to vote, another to convince and the third to control actions.

What does the future hold for them all...

I love the idea of this book so very much. I had so many scenarios floating in my mind. Endless possibilities of where it could go having read the blurb.

But then it all came crashing down sadly as reality hit.

Where to start, what to say....

The book was riddled with issues, from words missing or incorrect, to repetition, and sentences that didnt fully make sence even with rereads.

I struggled to connect with the characters, there wasnt enough of anything to bring any true emotions to the surface. They didnt hold my attention. The relentionships forged felt unnatural and rushed.

The plot could of been fantastic, the imagery of the school in my mind from the description was a thing of sacred beauty, but that's where it ends I'm afraid.

I felt lost quite a lot of the time, something that wasnt, suddenly was and it sums up alot of this read. It felt like this was rushed.

I hate that I didn't love it, that I'm not sat here aching for book two the black envelope and that I've not acquired more book boyfriends for my collection. *enter sad face!*

Editing really bad

Editing is so bad it's distracting. No real character build up or any relationship build up. Story idea sounded good but execution wasnt . Will read one more and if it's the same I'll be done

One word - juvenile. F4 wannabe. Every character is so shallow and there's no real plot. Too bad I really liked the cover. It's what prompted me to read this but I'm so disappointed. DNFed at 80%. Should have been 0 star but I rated it 1 for the nice cover.

It's so terribly bad.

I will not recap the "plot" , go look for other reviews for it, there are a lot. I will try to explain why this is a horrible book.

So, first, imagine someone is retelling you a movie they saw a while ago. In short, unimaginative sentences, constantly remembering some plot line they forgot to mention before, so it gets inserted in the middle or retelling. And as with any movie, there are only shallow descriptions of characters, mostly how they look , if they are good or bad and key points of who likes who. That is this book. Rapid collection of brief descriptions of characters and plot. Everything is insta. Insta love, insta lust, insta hate, insta fights descending into extremes. Absolutely everything-looks, events, feelings, are on the extreme side of any scale. Protagonists are extremely pretty, extremely wealthy, extremely good fighters, etc. Protagonists are evil to extreme. Every girl that is not heroine is extremely whore and jealous and evil. Jesus, it was a pain to read.

The writing is so juvenile, completely skipping any character building and world fleshing out. Like a bad retelling of a low rated movie.

Recommendation: if you plan to brave this book, prepare with bleach for your eyes to erase the horror of ever reading it, have some anti vomiting medicine on hand and most important, go in expecting to read one of the worst bully romances ever written. Ideally, have a plan how you will erase any memory of ever being stupid enough to read this. I'm out.
