A rewarding job, good friends, and finding someone to love. She doesn’t want the kind of love she grew up with, however. She wants someone willing to stick. As Nate works to save the orchard, Megan pitches in to help. After all, no cherry farm equals no need for a cherry-themed gift store. Or will he walk . . . exactly as her family always has?

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The fifth sibling of the Wilde family is in town to help with the family farm. Nathan, as much as he wants to be a permanent resident of Birch Bay, he just never found a reason to stay. Too many things in his past that prevent him to do so, but so many things have changed, most especially, Nate himself. Maybe, just maybe this time he can stay.

After the break up with her ex-fiance, Meagan stayed in town and worked for the Wildes in Birch Bay. She loves this town and she is determined to find a reason to make it her permanent residence. She’s got the job she likes, now, the goal is to find herself a man. Little did she know that the most interested would be another Wilde.

I’m going to admit, there was a little bit of hesitation on my end to fully like Meagan and Nate. I wasn’t happy with Meagan when she broke it off with Jaden in the previous installment. Also, Nathan’s previous “mistake” and now falling for his brother’s ex-fiancee didn’t sit well with me in the beginning and it made me question his character. Of course, Ms. Law did a good job letting both Meagan and Nate’s story comes through loud and clear, especially Nate’s story. I love the second chance he has given himself to be better in everything he does and to be a better person overall worthy of respect.

Meagan, on the other hand, didn’t fully win my heart it could be because I can’t easily forgive but I enjoyed Meagan and Nate’s romance. It wasn’t easy and there was plenty of doubt but they managed it well enough. I also enjoyed the family drama that came with unconditional love. The Wilde family certainly have gone through some rough spots. I can’t wait for the last Wilde to get snatched.

My heart worked overtime with this book. Nate Wilde, and Megan Manning, are truly such lost, hurting souls that you can only find yourself hoping they find happiness. And if they find it together? Even better!

I won’t retell the story as the author does it SO much better than I could, but I can tell you what I loved about it. The Wilde family has seen such heartache, and heartbreak, and I loved reading about all of them – in previous books, too. Montana Promises isn’t quite a standalone as it tells more of the story of the Wildes and has them returning, with their own families, as important supporting characters. I’d say that reading the previous books will most certainly enhance your experience and help you to understand the depth of the connections in this family.

Nate and Megan are special. Both are struggling with their pasts (although Megan’s is hurtful, imho it doesn’t come close to the hateful past Nate has to deal with) and the fact that Megan is an ex of one of Nate’s brothers… Well, therein lies the story.

All the Wildes, and surrounding friends, come together once again to support each other and help heal an old family rift. They have had it tough for all their lives and it is wonderful to read each of their roads to an HEA. I loved this story, and admittedly have a crush on Nate, and recommend Montana Promises and the series. I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Montana Promises is the fifth full length novel in Kim Law’s fantastic series, The Wildes of Birch Bay and an excellent addition. When I received an invitation from the author, I eagerly agreed to read and review. However, through a fluke, I did not receive the ARC in advance of publication, so since I subscribe to KU, I downloaded this book and read it via KU. My opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

Montana Promises grabbed me early on. Megan played a significant role in Montana Dreams when she broke off her relationship with Jaden. When I realized she would be the heroine in this book, and that Nate would be the hero, it piqued my interest immediately. Their relationship had the potential to create major issues among the Wilde clan. How would Jaden act when he discovers they were dating? How would the rest of the family react? I eagerly delved in and read this book in less than a day, finding it hard to put down when life interfered.

The story is compelling, and the pacing is excellent. Ms. Law certainly knows how to pull her readers in and keep them to the end. Both characters have amazing depth and many layers. Both crave love. Megan believes she will never find anyone who will put her first. Nate’s baggage has him believing he will never find anyone to love and call his own or someone who will love him despite his flaws. This adds a multitude of layers to their characters and the plot.

Megan’s character is determined to pursue a career in retailing, although her degrees were in computer programing. She’s also fallen in love with Birch Bay and wants to live there going forward. Her relationship with her family, especially her father, has fueled her belief that no one will ever put her first. She loves lists and has one regarding the desired man in her life. She desperately wants to find a husband and start a family.

Nate’s character is complex. He’s riddled with guilt and blames himself for his father’s accident which caused him to lose his leg. He should have stopped his dad from driving the tractor. Then, his relationship with his narcistic late mother, influences his belief regarding his inability to find and give love.

What starts as a flirty friendship between Megan and Nate, quickly ignites for both of them. While Nate clearly wants Megan, initially, he feels it would be impossible since Megan was practically engaged to his brother. Even though Jaden has moved on and found love, a brother doesn’t enter a relationship with the woman who was a former lover of one of his siblings.

Megan is not looking for a superficial relationship. She wants a husband, and Nate has never indicated he was interested in a wife. He’s the Wilde brother who slips in and out of Birch Bay, never staying longer than a few days or perhaps a week. Between his father’s accident and the loss of 85% of the family’s cherry orchard, he’s stuck overseeing the removal of the dead trees and the nurturing of the 15% that is left while his father recovers.

When the family decide to turn the ruined part of the orchard into a rustic retreat, Megan agrees to design the interiors of the cabins Nate is building. This has the couple working together, and their attraction builds to such a fierce intensity, it can no longer be ignored. This creates a combustible situation that makes for fascinating reading!

Montana Promises is not only an intriguing romance, it brings out more, regarding the twisted mechanizations of the late mother and how she influenced the choices all her children have made. This entire series has moved me greatly. To fully understand this dysfunctional family saga, I do recommend reading the other books, even though Montana Promises can be read as a stand-alone. There’s only one Wilde sibling who is still unattached, and I can’t wait to read Cord’s story, which will be the last book. Happy reading!

Nate Wilde has a secret that drove him to run from Birch Bay and his family, but now he's tired and wants to come home to stay. As he settles in he's drawn to his brother's former fiancée. He is falling for Meghan. Do they have a future? I liked Nate. He's a good person and a hard worker. I just wished he didn't keep everything inside. I wondered if he and his family can get beyond their past problems?Meghan has such spirit. I liked that she speaks her mind. She deserves happiness. I wanted her to find her perfect match. The chemistry between these two is amazing. I liked seeing them together. I was pulled into their romance. I was pulled into this family drama. Birch Bay and the cherry orchard are a great place to visit. I, also, enjoyed seeing the rest of the Wilde Family and catching up with them. Kim Law wrote an emotional story. I cared for Nate and Megan and wanted them to be together. I was sorry that they both carried baggage that still causing them problems. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I was so excited when I heard that Kim Law was going back to the Wildes!! One of my favorite families. I will say this right away, you don't have to read the previous books before reading this one, but you will want read them all after reading Nate's story.

Nate left Birch Bay when he turned eighteen, living a life of a nomad. Megan, manages the the store of cherry themed gifts of the Wildes, she is the ex girlfriend of Nate's brother. The cherry orchard is on the brink of collapse and Nate has returned home to help in the orchard.

Nate and Megan have hit if off but the problem lays in that Megan is looking for her forever and Nate has never been able to hold on to his forever. They both have past family issues that they need to resolve to have the forever us.

This is a well written book with wonderful characters. Loved Megan and Nate, ok maybe I wanted to punch Nate a few times, but he finally worked it all out. It was great to catch up with the Wildes!! I can't wait to read Cord's story. I highly recommend this book along with the rest of the books in this series!!

Book five of the Wildes of Birch Bay by Kim Law tells the story of Nate Wilde, a loner who left Birch Bay at 18 to find his way in the world, and Megan Manning, the ex-fiancé of his brother Jaden, who loves Birch Bay and chooses to stay after their breakup.

Nate just wants to do what he needs to, to keep the family’s cherry orchard going, then head out of town.

Megan just wants to do when she needs to, to keep the reason for a cherry themed store in business, then settle down in a town she’s grown to love.

Nate and Megan are different. Megan, the cheerful ‘glass is half full’ personality and Nate, the grump whose ‘glass is half empty and about to spill’, always. Their interaction allows their personalities to complement each other, but with their backgrounds, will they take the final step to happiness?

Since this is a Birch Bay novel, you’ll get to see other family members that we’ve come to know and love. If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series, you’ll not be confused. This is a total stand-alone. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series.

I was happy to see Megan get her HEA. Nate is a good guy, but he has some old secrets that he thinks could destroy his family. So, he stays away. The family could lose everything they have, so he comes up with an idea of how to change things. Megan is on board to help with the changes. Things are changing between Nate and Megan, but Nate doesn't think he deserves a happy ever after. Plus Megan is his brother's old girlfriend. He has to come to terms with how he feels about Megan and he has to come clean with his family. He needs to set things right so he can move on.

Nate is a renegade, or so his brothers think. When he comes back to Birch Bay, a certain young lady catches his eye, but he is certain nothing will ever come of it. She happens to be his brother's ex. I love visiting the Wilde's of Birch Bay. Being born and raised in Montana, the places mentioned in this book remind me of home. I love this series and encourage you to pick up this and the other three books. Very good storytelling and great characters.

Montana Promises is the fifth book in The Wildes of Birch Bay series by author Kim Law. Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone. However, I strongly recommend reading each book in the series in order to fully enjoy these amazing stories and cast of main characters. In this novel, we finally get to hear Nate Wilde's story.

Nate Wilde is ready to leave Birch Bay, but his father's accident has him staying a lot longer than he anticipated. The guilt he feels for his father's accident is eating away at him. On top of that, the family livelihood is suffering from too many lost cherry trees, and the family needs to make a decision about what to do next. Do they replant? Do they sell? So many decisions to make, and such little time to decide. However, Nate has a different vision for the family orchard...one he needs to talk over with his siblings. Nate has put a lot of thought into his plan, and now he has to get his family to believe in his vision for their future.

Megan Manning fell in love with the Wilde Cherry Orchard, and loves her job managing The Cherry Basket store that recently relocated from the orchard and into the new location in town. She was once engaged to Jaden Wilde, and although everyone expected her to leave town when that relationship ended, she decided to stay. She remains friends with the entire Wilde family, and loves life in Birch Bay. Her future is in question due to the loss at the Wilde Cherry Orchard, but she has faith that all will work out in the end.

Nate and Megan actually have a lot in common when it comes to their families. Nate longs for the acceptance of his family, and the longer he is home, the more he wants to stay and be a part of the family business. As for Megan, it is the opposite. Megan has a job she truly loves, but it is one her father will never approve of. Both have difficult histories when it comes to their mothers, and even though they are adults now, they still are hurting from their childhoods. Nate is afraid to love...he is convinced he will never be good enough for anyone. Megan is looking for true love...longing for that one special man to share her life with. Nate and Megan are actually perfect for one another, but can they get past the fact that she was with Jaden for four years?

The story that unfolds is brilliantly told, and in all honesty, probably one of my favorites in this series. I love both of the main characters, and want both to find the happiness they truly deserve. Nate is a complex, and extremely well-written character. He may be an adult, but the pain from his childhood is still constantly with him. He is a bit of a lost soul, but at the same time, he is longing to come home and be a part of the family. He may not be a part of the family business, but he is successful in his own right. Now he just needs to decide what is truly important to him and make the move he so desperately wants to do. Megan is such a strong female character...a woman that knows what she wants...and is not afraid to follow her heart. Unfortunately, as with Nate, she is so worried about letting down her father. Nate and Megan need to open the lines of communication with their father's, and finally find a way to accept the past and look to the future. Will they do it is the million dollar question? If you want to know more, you will have to read Montana Promises and find out.

I strongly recommend reading Montana Promises, as well as the previous four books in this series. I promise you will not be disappointed.

The Wildes of Birch Bay:
1. Montana Cherries
2. Montana Rescue
3. Montana Mornings
4. Montana Dreams
5. Montana Promises

I would like to thank Kim Law for allowing me to read and review Montana Promises. My views are my own and are no way influenced by anyone else.

This is the fifth book in the Wilde's of Birch Bay series. I have to say it was one of my favorites. This story has some real guts to it. This is Nate's story and shows us how much more their mom's problems affected these kids.

Nate is 1/2 of the twin set with Nick. All his life growing up he would hear his mom say how she loved Nate more than Nick. Yet he never felt any love from her. He felt blame and hurt but no love. Unfortunately, things that had happened in Nate's past are still being carried around with him today. You might even say he is being haunted by them. He eludes to having secrets from his family and if they find out they won't want him around. He carries such guilt that he doesn’t stay home very long when he visits. He can't.

Megan Manning feels very happy and content being in Wicked Bay. When she was engaged to Jaden Wilde she had come there with him and fallen in love with the town. She is no longer engaged to Jaden. She runs the Cherry Basket. She had given up her programming job with computers to stay in Birch Bay and run the store for the Wilde's.

Nate and Megan start working together on a project of Nate's to help the Cherry Orchard. It is dying out and only has but a handful of trees left. Nate has come up with an idea of using some of the property to build some cabins for a resort type business. People can rent the cabins and then utilize the areas for outdoor activities. Snowmobiling, Hiking and so on which will all be contracting through local businesses. They want Nate to stay and handle it. But he says he is leaving once it is completed. But will he? While working with Megan things are changing. Although Nate has hang-ups with her being engaged to his brother, he can't stop his feelings for her, but he is trying. He thinks having feelings for Megan is not the right thing you do to your brother. No matter how much she tells him otherwise.

The cabins are coming together nicely, Megan is going to design the inside of them, and she has even come up with the idea to use the barn for wedding venues. Things are progressing wonderfully with their relationship as well. So much so that they are going to tell Nate's family about it. When they all get together Nate tells them, and Jaden announces something that makes Nate go a bit crazy. I'm not giving away anything due to the fact you all need to read this to follow the progression of their relationship and how all of this will fit together.

I loved this book. I loved the way that Ms. Law brought a lot of the past books into this one and moved forward as well. Nate and Megan's story was full of problems from Nate's past and how all that weaved in and out was wonderful. If you have read the other books this might fill in a bit for you, if you haven't it might be a bit hard to follow. I recommend reading the previous books first.

This is book five of the Wildes of Birch Bay series. While you do not have to have read the first books in this series – it can totally stand alone – you really should read those because they're beautiful books and having that knowledge of this beautiful family's background can only add to how great this story is. This story has some sex and some cursing including f-bombs, but neither thing overwhelms the story.

Nate's story is as difficult to read as the other Wilde siblings stories have been, but Ms. Law balances the dramatic stuff with a lot of sweetness, love, and hopefulness. Knowing what Nate went through and how he struggled because of his childhood, that all just makes the happily ever after that much more wonderful. If there were ever an entire family that deserved a happily ever after, it is the Wilde family (their dad included).

Looking in from the outside, this pairing should not work. Megan dated Nate's brother Jaden long-term (that would typically be a dealbreaker for me, I won't lie), and the characters of Nate and Jaden couldn't be more different, but this pairing, these two people, just work in a way that is unexpectedly right. Megan was the perfect foil for Nate's lone-wolf attitude, cheerfully and sweetly breaking through his crusty shell and making him admit that being alone isn't the life he wants to lead. Knowing Megan from Jaden's story, I already liked her, but I really loved her in this book. Ironically, one of the best parts of the book was the way that Nate helped bring Megan's stronger woman out, the way that he helped her see that she needed to require more from the people in her life. I loved seeing her find herself and her place in the world – even though it kind of backfired on Nate for a bit.

Being a Wildes of Birch Bay book, there is a healthy dose of the other Wilde siblings, their father, and all of their various partners/children. I say that in every review of a Wilde book but it bears repeating: this series and this family is amazing and I love every minute of reading about them. Although I am looking forward to Cord's book, I am dreading the end of this series because the idea of no more books about these awesome characters makes me so sad.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed the previous books or to anyone who enjoys a really well-written book about two very unlikely characters finding love.

This is a beautifully written series, dealing with the repercussions of Narcissistic Personality Disorder on family members. Three years ago, the Wildes finally started confronting the manipulation and pain caused by their mother. Dani, Nick, Gabe and Jaden and even their father Max, have all managed, with therapy, to heal and find love, something they never received from their mother. Jaden has gone into counseling and had been dating Megan Manning for 4 years, when she broke it off at the beginning of the last book. Megan has moved on, even playing matchmaker for Jaden and his current fiancee, Arsula. Megan wants a husband and family, a husband who wants to stay with home with her with her, not like her family situation when she was growing up. She even has a list of potential men. The good thing about her 4 year relationship with Jaden, was it brought her to Birch Bay, a place that she loves and wants to call home. She gave up her high paying computer coding job to run the The Cherry Basket, while branching out to all other types of activities, until she finds something that calls to her.

That leaves Nate and Cole. Cole became a doctor and Nate ran away at eighteen, only two of his brothers knowing why. While he allowed his family to think he was a bum, he really was building a number of construction businesses all over the country. He wants to come home, but is afraid about what will happen if his secret comes out. He has always felt that his family didn't need him.

At end of the last book a killer frost swept in and destroyed most of the cherry trees and Max Wilde, who was having hallucinations due to medications he was on, ended up in an accident and lost his leg and almost his life. Another thing for Nate to feel guilty about. But Nate comes up with a solution to save the Orchard and working with Megan starts to feel that maybe something good can develop between them, despite her being his younger brother's ex. While he helps and encourages her to deal with her own family dysfunctions, can he overcome the program of failure that his mother had drummed into his head or will he mess up his relationship with her too?

As I said at the beginning of this review, this is a beautifully written series. However, I would not suggest jumping in here as a stand alone, but start at the beginning. I received a free ARC from the author and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

AHHH!! Finally, we get to have Nate Wilde’s story. In my opinion, he is not only the most handsome Wilde man in the family, but he has a huge heart. He is quite the loner type. You can tell he loves his family which he visits often over the series but was never ready to put down roots back in birch bay. As his story opens like the books before he is already packed and ready to leave the family cherry farm. Except, his life is turned upside down and inside out by a beautiful woman named Megan Manning. As you know from the series, she was Jared’s ex. Megan is sweet and a delightful witty character. She wants to put down roots in a small town. I would have never thought that Birch Bay would get an amazing complex woman like Megan. She was helping design the Wilde’s Cherry Farm website and decided that she no longer loved Jared, so they had a splitting up. But she decided that it would be nice to befriend the loner in the bunch, Nate. To me in the first little while it seemed like Nate and Megan were great friends and It didn’t seem like Nate would ever make his move. But I will let you read the book to see how it ends. I can’t wait for the next Birch Bay Book to come out. Kim Law has a way about creating characters that you can love, hate, then love again. You will cry with them, laugh with them, and sometimes even choose sides. I have to say Nate and Megan has stolen my heart this time and I am not sure any couple can take their place!! Thank again Kim Law for writing a truly amazing book!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed the previous books or to anyone who enjoys a book about finding love.

The emotions this author can evoke! The Wilde family has so many issues, but through it all they stick together. Even if/when one of them doesn’t realize how much support they will get, it’s there waiting for them.

From the moment Nate and Megan have their conversation in the cherry store, a totally innocent and innocuous conversation, I could feel the sparks. Their pull, along with their resistance, was a palpable thing. Kim Law did a phenomenal job setting up this relationship from all angles. And while my heart broke for both the hero and heroine, I never felt sorry for them or pitied them.

One of the things I love about this series is I feel the author really did her homework when it comes to the psychological issues the mom had and the ramifications of those issues with the now adult children. Nate proves that even when you’re aware of the harm done to your psyche as a child, and even when you know what is true and what is not true, certain things will take root and stay deep down so you don’t even realize you’re letting that past stuff affect your current life.

Both Megan and Nate had to learn to speak up for themselves. Once they got comfortable enough to talk with each other about things they had kept buried inside, they started gaining more confidence in voicing their feelings with others. It was wonderful to watch them blossom in that way, even with the bumps along the way.

One of these days I’ll have to seek out other stories by this author because I just adore this series and her writing. That way I won’t have to go so long between getting my fix of her sublime mix of angst and joy.

Book 5 in the Wildes of Birch Bay, Nate's story. Nate is the Wilde that seldom comes home, he was the one his mom always blamed for everything and he feels he is the cause of everything bad that happens. When he does finally come home to help with the orchard and then his dad after he has an accident, he still feels out of place. So when he is drawn to Megan, his brother's ex, he is determined to leave again as quickly as he can. But he's the one that comes up with an impressive idea to save the family business and they all would really like for him to stick around. Megan is very drawn to Nate and is ready to move on from the breakup with his brother. She's determined to find "her person" and sets about it in what Nate determines as an unusual way. Megan's perfectly happy running the store, helping with her friend's websites and finding her niche. What she'd really like is a relationship with her father. As much as Nate tries to stay away from Megan, he can't and once they decide to secretly give a relationship a chance it seems like everything falls into place. But there are secrets to come out before a HEA can happen, it's just whether they can heal from all the hurts of the past to get there. Ms. Law's characters are so real you feel like you truly know them and that feeling carries through in this book as well. Although this is the 5th book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. However, you'll want to go back then and read the ones that came before this one! I received an ARC from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This is the fifth book in the series. This is a series you do need to read in order. If you haven’t then you might not understand the complexities of the story. Montana Promises takes you on the journey of Nate Wilde and Megan Manning.

In Montana Promises, you learn about Nate Wilde. Nate left home at the age of 18 and rarely comes back home. The story picks up right after Jayden and Arsula’s engagement and the Wilde’s dad’s accident. The siblings ambush Nate about sticking around and not leaving right away along with the discussion of keeping or selling the cherry farm after the artic blast killed most of the trees. Megan, who runs the Wilde’s Cherry Shop in town and is Jayden’s ex-girlfriend wonders what is going to happen with the farm because it affects the shop. (See what I mean about having to have read the other books in the series prior to this one!)

Megan sees the good in Nate and he would like to date Megan, but has a hard time getting over that she is his brother’s ex-girlfriend. Megan is looking for a guy who will not take off and leave for long periods of time, so her interest in Nate is a moot point. When he finally takes that leap of faith and shows interest in dating Megan, they do it secretly.

I liked how they got to know one another before taking their relationship deeper. It is a sweet romance. You finally learn why Nate left home and why he has a problem believing that anyone could love him.

Another winning book from Kim Law!

I loved reading Nate and Megan’s story in Montana Promises by Kim Law, book five in the Wildes of Birch Bay series. This book will truly pull you in and you will need a box of tissues nearby. Nate Wilde is a hard working loner who left home after turning eighteen. He has made it clear that although he will visit his family he has no intention to ever move back home. However, he didn’t plan on everything getting derailed by a small tornado named Megan Manning. The problem is that she should be off-limits since she used to be engaged to brother, Jared. Megan is quite intelligent, leaving her promising career in the technology field to move to Birch Bay and manage the Wilde family's store. Not only is she the manager but she helped get it moved to downtown Birch Bay and redesigned their website. Even after she and Jared split, she remained friends with Jared and his family. I love how Nate and Megan start off as friends and simply slide into love. Megan and Nate have less than ideal family backgrounds and both have their own issues to work out with their families, which makes them all the more perfect for each other.

Ms. Law wrote an emotional love story that is truly not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and an endearing cast of characters giving Nate and Megan a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Montana Promise to other readers and am now just waiting to see how the last single Wilde standing will fall

Megan & Nate make a perfect couple. Both of them had family issues that they needed to resolve before they could create their “happily ever after”. Megan’s parents were divorced when she was young & she’s been battling for her father’s attention ever since. She has put up with a lack of his time because she felt that’s all she deserved. She’s finally had enough!

Nate was manipulated by his narcissistic mother to believe that all bad things were his fault. She even tried to turn him & his twin, Nick, against each other. Then Gabe’s ex-wife Michelle tried to complete the job by seducing him at seventeen & threatening to tell everyone he raped her when the guilt was getting to be too much for him. He felt he didn’t deserve anyone’s love. Gabe needed to realize that he wasn’t responsible & to forgive himself so that he could move on with his life.

Guilt is a powerful emotion & it almost broke up various Wilde relationships & the family. This story was powerful & strong with the premise of forgiveness. The interactions between Nate & the family are all tainted by his guilt & misconceptions. As he begins to discover the truth & learn the value of Megan’s love, the real Nate begins to shine through. I love the quick peeks at the other relationships in the family & seeing how they’ve continued to love & grow. I really can’t wait until Cord’s story but I’d love to have Dre & Brooke’s story too!

I have loved every book in "The Wildes of Birch Bay" series. We finally get Nate's story in book five of this series. Nate returns to Birch Bay to help with the family cherry orchard. While he is in town he blames himself for his father's accident. This only compounds all the blame he has heaped on himself over the years due to a narcissistic mother and sister-in-law. While home dealing with the events which could cause the family to lose the orchard he keeps crossing paths with his little brother's ex, Megan.

Megan came to Birch Bay with Nate's younger brother Jaden and although they broke up she decided to stay in town to run the family's new cherry-themed gift store. Megan loves running The Cherry Basket. She feels like she has finally found a place to call home and despite her amicable breakup with Jaden a family (his) to call her own.

Nate & Megan find themselves more and more attracted to each other, but Nate keeps denying the feelings because she is his baby brother's ex. Megan has a few issues herself, mostly abandonment issues due to her own family never being there for her and her dad always trying to push her into a career path she doesn't want.

Will these two be able to overcome their issues to find their happily ever after? Guess you will need to read this wonderful book to find out. I would also recommend reading books 1-4 if you haven't already!

This book continues with the story of the Wilde siblings of Birch Bay, Montana.
This time it’s the story of Nate WIlde and Megan Manning., newcomer and former fiance of his younger brother One is home for a short time to help the family and the other has made a new life in Birch Bay. While seemingly wanting different things, in reality both want to be loved for whom they are. Nate’s and Megan’s childhood was not always easy and it has molded them as adults.
As they start working together to help save the Wilde’s orchard, a friendship develops as well as feelings. But fears might hold them back.
It’s an engaging story about family dynamics, hope, fears, and love.
I have to confess I have not read all the stories in the series, and because of that, I felt at a disadvantage. It’s assumed we know the stories, background and relationships of all the siblings, when in fact I was clueless. Maybe giving a little background when the character appeared in the story, might have helped. For that it was more of a 3.5 story but sInce I respected the time and dedication authors spend in bringing us their stories, I have given it a 4 star rating.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Oh, how I missed the Wilde family! Montana Promises was a fantastic fifth installment to the Wilde’s of Birch Bay series. This is Nate’s (one of the twins) love story with Megan, who is his little brother’s ex-girlfriend. I thought the ick factor of dating a sibling’s ex was going to be a turn-off, but Kim Law’s expert writing detailed the struggle Nate goes through as he tries to fight his growing feelings. Ms. Law has created a flawed hero in Nate, but we’ve seen him mature so much throughout the series, and she gives us a masterful twist in this book that gives the reader a deep understanding of his character. Megan is such a likable heroine; she doesn’t take crap from anyone, doesn’t apologize for going after what she wants, and gives herself permission to try new things and grow. Their slow burn of a love story gives up plenty of time to catch up with the other Wildes while the family rallies around the cause of saving their orchard. This is a couple you’ll root for the entire book, and Ms. Law teases plenty more family drama at the end as she sets up the sixth and final installment when Cord finally meets his love-match. This reader can’t wait to visit with the Wilde’s one last time!

This is one of the sweetest love stories that I have read in a long time. Nate and Megans story is so well written, the characters, the scenes everything just pulls you right in and has you turning the pages.

Nate Wilde is a hard working loner that has made it clear he has no intention of ever moving back home. There is one not so small hitch in his plans though and her name is Megan Manning. Although she is off limits since she used to be engaged to his brother Jared.

Megan Manning is a smart woman, she left a promising career in the technology field to move to Birch Bay and manage the Wilde family's store. Not only is she the manager but she helped get it moved to downtown Birch Bay and she redesigned their website. Even after she and Jared split, she remained friends with Jared and his family.
I love how Nate and Megan start off as friends and simply slide into love. This book will pull you in and you will need a box of tissues.

Both Nate and Megan come from less than ideal family backgrounds and both have their own issues to work out with their families, which makes them all the more perfect for each other.

Now, I am just waiting to see how the last single Wilde standing will fall.

The first in this series was excellent covering the often life-long damage that children suffer as a consequence of being raised by a mother with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Books 2 & 3 were good but less intense however #4 was truly dreadful (already reviewed, not going through that again) so I was reluctant to venture back to Birch Bay only doing so because it was on daily deal. It picked up a little round about half way but not by much and not for long, I should have followed my instincts and bailed but knowing this author can do so much better I hung on in there even if it did mean setting it aside to read a couple of other books then resuming reading.

I’ll admit that I started this book with huge reservations but I couldn’t accept Nate’s enduring anxiety about having a relationship with his younger brother’s former girlfriend, they parted amicably and the guy had moved on, if he had been heartbroken it might have made sense but not in this situation. Fortunately the nauseating Arsula (no not Ursula - the annoying creature has to have an annoying name) and her “gift” do not feature too much, I know many people believe in it but to me it is utter bunkum.

Many readers rate this very highly so perhaps you will enjoy it, sadly I found it bland and unremarkable.

This is the 5th book in the Wildes of Birch Bay Series. I would recommend that you read the books in order for everything to fall into place.
The Wilde family has had a whirlwind past with a Narcissist mother and what each child went through and how it affected them.
This is the story of Nate. His past has kept him away from Birch Bay for many years and when he returns to help out on the orchard he feels he doesn’t belong.
Megan Manning came to Birch Bay in Jaden’s book as his fiancé. Even though it did not turn out for the two of them they still remain friends and she finally found a place that she can see herself calling home.
I really enjoyed seeing this relationship develop. I love Megan’s personality, and Nate’s grumpiness. The way they come together to save the family farm is amazing. It’s like they are meant to be partners is every way.
I am glad that they both found their place, it makes for a touching story, I’m not going to lie I cried, I laughed and I awed
Thanks Kim Law for another amazing Wilde story, can’t wait to see what you have in store for Cord.

Montana Promises continues the story of the Wilde’s of Birch Bay, this time with Nate Wilde and Megan Manning.

Like his siblings, Nate’s mother’s selfish narcissism had a lasting impact, as did an encounter with another family member when he was 18. These things have left him constantly looking over his shoulder, waiting for “Karma to kick him in the ass.” As a result, his attraction to his brother Jayden’s ex-girlfriend isn’t something he welcomes. In fact, he fights it every step of the way.

Kim does a fantastic job of articulating how both Nat and Megan feel, making the reader sympathize, while at the the same time pulling at your heart strings, wanting a happy ending for these two who are so incredibly deserving of exactly that.

Like other books in this series, the main character is struggling with his own inner demons so the content can seem intent at times. Yet this one has found a good balance between serious and fun, making it a fantastic contemporary romantic read.

A great story of family dynamics, finding love, overcoming the past, and learning to heal. Megan fell in love with the Wilde family she just didn’t love Jayden. But that’s ok because she loves her new life in Birch Bay and she still gets to be involved with the Wilde family. Nathen Wilde believes his family is better off with him away but right now the family needs him in Birch Bay. But he is having a hard time keeping his distance from his brother’s ex-fiancé. It’s a minefield navigating the family, the business and this internal feelings that you can’t fall in love with your brothers ex. Funny how in life, that does happen and evidently between the pages of a book too. Friends make the best partners in life. Kim Law does it again making you want to meet these people in the story. No need to have read any of her other books in this series. They can be read individually or as a series or in any order. You will enjoy it.
