I dislike books that say things HAVE to be done this way or you MUST do this. They should guide, not dictate. I also think magic has no colour, so I personally find comments such as "White Magic" kind of cringy. The book mentions not infringing on another's free will, then includes spells to do just that, which I find rather hypocritical.
Other than that, I think this book may benefit a very new witch. Someone young (the book as a very "teenage" feel to it) and just starting out. I don't recommend it for anyone even slightly more along their path.
Great tips on spellwork, indeed a little book. Nothing divine here, no wheel of the year, just practical magic. Found some good ideas, works as a supplemental resource.
Definitely a good book if you're a beginner with little to no knowledge of anything related to the craft, and a good starting point for anyone to discover which aspects of the craft they're interested in. However, it's a pocketbook with lots of images so there isn't much information, and only around 2 pages are dedicated to each topic so it is extremely brief. It's okay because it's cheap, but definitely more of an aesthetically pleasing book so I will be passing it on. The spells in the back were very good though as they mostly include everyday and easily obtainable items, so I will take notes from that, but the rest, no.
I’ve been really interested in witchcraft and what it actually means to be a witch recently. When looking online for books that I could read to help expand my knowledge, I came across this little charming book. I must admit that I instantly fell in love with the cover. It’s even more stunning in person. I bought the book as I was expecting it to be a really simple and easy way for me to understand witchcraft and how modern witches operate. And I got exactly that. - POSITIVES: * easy to understand information * easy to follow spell instructions * calm & friendly tone throughout book * helped me to understand more about the world of witchcraft * looks adorable and has cute illustrations & quotes throughout - NEGATIVES: * can feel a little "you SHOULD do this" every now and then (I've learnt that witchcraft is your own- it's what you make it and there aren't many things that you can do "the right way" or "the wrong way" because it's what YOU make it) * would have been nice if the physical book itself was a little bigger :') - So while it’s true that this book isn't packed with information, it was still able to teach me a lot and if anything, it’s made me super excited to delve further into the world of witchcraft! There's a slightly more detailed review of this book on my Wordpress blog at: https://loiereads.wordpress.com/2021/...
this is actually the book that got me into witchcraft! it’s perfect for if your a beginner, or for a present for someone just getting into witchcraft. it has information, but also spells- so it’s a little bit of everything. love this little book.
I found this book very helpful with spirituality. I did my first ever spell with this book. Just make sure you cleanse and stay positive<3 the book is really cute and it also has tips inside it not just spells :)
i've been getting back into being a little witchy as a form of self-care & rediscovering my self-confidence. this is a lovely & accessible way of understanding meaning & intent, & it's left me with a lot of options to explore in the future (that i'm already dabbling in, to be fair)
Really well written and super easy to follow. I highly recommend this to anyone who is new to the subject but it’s a nice refresher and a fun read for those who have a bit more experience in the subject. I really enjoyed reading it and will be using it as a quick reference for when I’m on the go!
Good for a beginner but gives little detail and description it feels like your reading bullet points and instructions as they only have 2 pages for each ‘part’ but overall a good little starter book
I think this book would be a good pocket reference for a beginner witch just learning about the craft. I always like small reference friendly books on my shelf and this one is very good.
