I had always dreamed of falling in love. I was ready and eager to find my happily ever after, but there was just one problem. The man I so desperately wanted to fall for was not available. He was taken—spoken for.He wasn't married, but he had been with someone for a long time. It didn’t help matters that she happened to be my friend. Some would say that's how it works, that I really only wanted him because I couldn't have him. That couldn't be further from the truth. I had fallen for this man years ago, and he had won my heart for so many different reasons. The fact that he was off-the-market had nothing to do with my feelings for him. Did I mention that he was one of the Blair brothers? This made him even more unobtainable. Everyone in Astoria knew and loved the Blair brothers. There were four of them, and they were handsome, kind, driven, and successful. Any of them would have been a great catch.Too bad my heart already belonged to the one I couldn't have. This is the story of how we finally fell in love.

Ahhhh, I think this book just took the cake for my favorite book written by this author. It was just so good! And the ending was perfect! I loved Charlie and Jacob’s connection, the honesty of feelings, the sincerity of the story. It was all just beautiful and I feel like re-reading the whole book again now that I finished it! I loved this book!!
This is a outstanding and refreshing love story of how we should cherishes the the important people in our lives because they may be our real destiny and happily ever after.
First off, I want to say that I liked the story overall - no regrets reading it whatsoever. But it just wasn't as good as the first one.
I loved the premise, development & characters (& that Haley was ex'd), but this one seemed more juvenile in its writing, especially the dialogue which was cringeworthy at times & read like a teenager's. It also felt like the story was hastily turned out. At any rate, more serious editing was needed.
I'm hoping book 3 will be a return to the previous form.
Clean romance level: passionate kissing, attraction borders on lust at times, epilogue immediately follows the happy couple's marriage consummation, & while not explicit, there are a few related comments between husband & wife that are not really suitable for a younger (innocent) audience
What a sweet and beautiful love story.. One never knows what God has in store for us. Fell in love with Jacob and Charlie - sweet, funny and loveable and such passion to wait til marriage.💗 addicting read couldn't put it down!
Another tender, sweet, romance from this author. I wait impatiently for her new releases. Jacob and Charlie are so precious together. I can’t wait for the third Blair brothers book!
Charlie's best friend is dating the man she has loved her whole life! Jacob is dating someone for the sheer security dating represents. And isn't sure why they are still together. After Charlie "dumps" her BFF and Jacob "dumps" his GF, the two of them start a whirlwind romance (several months later). This was was fun and sweet but I agree with another reviewer. The epilogue is way too graphic for my taste. I've read on page sex scenes in non-Christian literature. It is not something I seek out. But this book is a Christian read. And while there wasn't in depth sex written on the pages, the consummation was more than I expected or wanted to read. Technically, you can skip the epilogue and understand there was a HEA and be done with it. The book was okay. I liked book 1 better.
Not my favorite in the series but still okay. Jacob and Charlie’s story was a bit rushed and the dialogue was somewhat juvenile but overall a good book.
This is a story about a girl who's been in love with her best friend's boyfriend for what feels forever. That is until she learns about her friend's cheat.

Thoughts and feelings:
🍁I feel bad giving this one this rating. I think I enjoyed the first one better. This one has got a plot. And there were moments that made me smile. Very few, though. The majority was just eye-rolling and cheesy. I couldn't stand either of the characters. Their story didn't hook me. Also, I don't know what's up with these brothers whom everyone and their mothers are mesmerised with. The protagonist here, Jacob, stays in a relationship with Hailey since he's loyal and loves being with one person. When he suddenly breaks up with her for no reason. Like, yeah, she's annoying and selfish and cocky and what's not. But, he didn't mind that before? And then he notices the heroine who's literally been there for ages, but now, and after 3 months of the breakup, out of nowhere, he can't stop thinking about her? He likes her? While he's never contemplated that before? We're merely told about the two having a friendship history, but we see nothing of that. And then, at the wedding, he says that I should have known better since the love I had with her was from first sight?
🍁I absolutely didn't buy a single book this book offered me with. Also, I have definitely noticed the repetition in terms of the wording this time around. I saw someone comment on this one when I finished reading the first book. I didn't notice it there, but here, it's noticeable.
🍁One thing I can appreciate about the storytelling overall is that it doesn't go crazy to smutt. I wouldn't also say that it's insta-love in either book so far, though the reasons for these brothers falling head over heels over the heroines is still mind-boggling. There is this scene in this book where the hero literally goes to Poland to attend an even where the heroine is because he misses her and wants to surprise her. It was quite funny seeing them play the game where they pretended to meet each other for the first time ever.
Book two in the Blair brother series is not really what I expected, considering I have already bought and read book one. Book one is by far one of my favorite books from this author, but book two was lacking a lot. I was expecting it to be more of her friend and the guy being together showing affection to one another and she have to see it going on, giving advice to her friend while the whole time she had feelings for him. That was not the case at all because they broke up in the beginning of the book and Haley wasn't mentioned enough in the book. And also it was more narrating than actual conversations. It was a good read but just a little disappointed that it wasn't anything like book one. Can't wait to read book there in this series!!!!
Not my favorite in the series so far. The book opens with Charlie, the heroine, pining for the hero, Jacob, who happens to be the boyfriend of her vain best friend. Of course, the BFF is villainized as a cheater, so I won’t feel sorry for her when the heroine eventually ends up with Jacob.
I’m afraid I never got into this plot and the inconsistent points of view were jarring. The chapters portraying Charlie’s perspective were written in first-person point of view. The chapters portraying Jacob’s perspective were written in third-person point of view.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Jacob Blair and his twin brother have a construction business. He has recently broken up with his girlfriend after finding her best friend Charlie has broken ties with her also. Charlie has had a crush on him for years, but didn’t want to interfere with his relationship with her friend. Several months later, he discovers he is attracted to Charlie and sees the good qualities she possesses. A touching book about relationships, and mutual trust.
Wow. Brooke amazes me with every story. I seriously don't know how she does it. This story is so intense. I read the entire book in 3 hours. I laughed, I cried. I got goosebumps. I felt so much love an joy. This is every girls dream, to have a love so powerful. This was intense. My absolute favorite love story to date. Nothing is missing here. Brooke, thank you for another amazing story.
This is the first story that I have read by Brooke St. James in over a year and I was not disappointed. This was a beautiful, clean romance about the second Blair brother, Jason. A beautiful story about a couple who have been friends since childhood, but he is just coming to realize the love that he has for her. Lots of fun, tender moments for those who enjoy romance. I would recommend this book and this author. VICKI FROM WYOMING
This is such a great book! I loved that the HEA wasn’t just a first kiss and done. I loved that there weren’t misunderstandings that seemed manipulated by the author and unnatural. It is a bit steamy for teens, in my opinion, as the reader joins in on the honeymoon for a few pages. But it was fantastically handled, and very appropriate. I read this through KU but may have to purchase my own copy to reread.
A little PG-13, but appropriate for the situation. Had some violence but treated appropriately. I love the series the author writes about a single family and ties the books together that way. This story is a fast read with someone you meet in book one and one of the Blair brothers. Great chemistry, fun family and other interactions but some awkward and ugly interactions as well. Still worth reading.
Again, Ms St James gives us a fun romance. Dispite a few bumps along the way, the happy couple find each other and love follows. I liked the fact that the couple waited for marriage for sex. Maybe an old fashioned idea but respectful of God's word. It makes the honeymoon so much more! Can't think of any changes I would make unless to make it longer.
I really liked getting to know the characters in this story. They were realistic and well portrayed, making it easy for me to visualize them. As a Christian inspired romance, it was nice seeing wholesome values without being beat over the head with religion! I really enjoyed it!
Love the Blair brothers. Jacob and Charlie's story is a cute story about a couple who have known each other for years and loved each other but didn't get together until they were older. They went through life until it finally hit them. They both are so wonderful together. Love the ending.
Charlie has always had feelings for Jacob Blair, but he had been with Haley for a long time. On a trip to Mexico, Charlie witnessed Haley with another man but knew she would never tell Jacob. So she stopped her friendship with Haley and avoided Jacob. Months later Jacob comes looking for her and things go from there. Enjoy the fun and games that result from this meeting
It's sad this series has to be written so poorly. There's a story here, just written so poorly. The characters very dull and boring. No difference in personalties. How sad.
Wow, I was thinking that Charlie had a thing for Henry in the first book. Was I I wrong. You must read this book to see who she is interested in. This is a very good book.
As the girl who was always the friend, this hit home. Charlie recognizing Jacob for not just his good looks and his not noticing her is something I can relate to. The journey Jacob and Charlie take is one that left me with happy tears.
Brooke St. James has written a wonderful story you won't want to put down. Jacob and Charlie were great lead characters and I hope they will appear in a future book of this series.
What a sweet, sweet love story!!! It just goes to show you. If you have something precious and you don't cherish it, you just may have it taken away and given to someone who will cherish it and treat it as precious as it is.
Loved Jacob and Charlie’s story. Charlie had a crush on Jacob since first grade. The only problem was he was with her best friend. This is the story of how they finally were able to find each other.
3.75 stars GreT story that follows tradional conservative values. Great main characters. Heroine who crushes hero from afar while her best friend dates him. Angst, fun romance. Wonderful secondary characters. Overall a really good story and read.

A bit sappy. Too much NA drama for my liking. Kind and loving (except for one) uncomplicated characters who are easy to like if somewhat starry-eyed and immature. Served me well as an “insomniac” book - read it in one sleepless night!
This is an entertaining story about crushing on someone and not being able to let them know and how years later everything changed. This is a sweet, clean romance.
