Crazy Imperfect Love

From USA Today bestselling author KL Grayson…

Abigail Darwin needs one thing in life: consistency. Okay, make that two things: consistency and order. Tired of being shackled to her obsessive-compulsive mind, Abigail is determined to break free. Which is why she’s shaking things up.

Fresh out of nursing school, she takes a traveling nurse position. A new job in a new city every few months? That’s a sure-fire way to keep her from settling down and falling into old habits. First stop, Cunningham Falls, Montana.

The only problem? She didn’t plan on falling in love with the quaint little town, and she sure as heck didn’t plan on falling for its resident surgeon, Dr. Drake Merritt

Laid back, messy, and spontaneous, Drake is everything she’s not. But he is completely smitten by the new, quirky nurse working on the med-surg floor of the hospital.

Abby puts up a good fight, but Drake is determined to break through her carefully erected walls to find out what makes her tick. And sigh and moan and smile and laugh. Because he really loves her laugh.

But falling in love isn’t part of Abby’s plan. Will Drake have what it takes to convince her that the best things in life come from doing what scares us the most?

I actually haven't read anything from this author before but that is definitely going to change now. I adored this story and thought it was just a super cute and fun romance to read. I loved Abigail's little quirks and how endearing Drake found them. I was happy, though, that those quirks weren't focused on too much since this wasn't a very long book and Drake and Abigail needed all the page time they could get.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a sweet and fun read then this is the one for you. Definitely gets a big thumbs up from me.

5 ‘PERFECTLY Imperfect Love’ Stars

Awwww… Crazy Imperfect Love utterly and completely blew me away! All so sweet, heartfelt and genuine, a true love story I will not soon forget, and the most PERFECT addiction/crossover into my beloved Big Sky series!

I have to say first and foremost I’m kicking myself here for not having find the time sooner to read this story, because I can honestly say it’s the most perfect crossover possible into one of my all time favorite author, Kristen Proby’s series, Big Sky.

This was my first – yet again chastising myself here – time reading K. L. Grayson and I can guarantee you that it won’t be the last, because I’m doing straight to exploring her backlist. If like myself, your a über fan of Ms. Proby, I tell you right now, you need to read Crazy Imperfect love NOW!! While reading Drake and Abby’s story, I basically felt like I was reading a KP story, their writing styles are so similar, hence my immediate awe. There aren’t many authors that can pull of this realistic and down to earth love stories, fully packed of emotions and pure love and devotion that we feel in our bones, and Ms. Grayson, very much like Ms. Proby, does it in spades, and in an seemingly effortless way. That’s how brilliant CIL was written!

Crazy Imperfect Love has the same setting as the Big Sky series, with Cunningham Falls as background and that feel of small town romance that I adore. Every since I read Waiting for Willa I have been immensely curious about Drake and Abby, considering how hot and intriguing they were together. And their story was every bit as amazing as I had hoped.

Drake and Abby, Hannah’s cousin, met and instantly connected in a wedding and their one night together made quite a impact in both of them. Specially Abby, the always careful and cautious nurse, after the encounter, decided to try her life in this small town, and move with the hope of something more with Drake. Dr. Drake couldn’t have been happier to find Abby that his hospital, since he too, had been just as enchanted by their connection.

Drake was the perfect book boyfriend, every step of the way through their blossoming relationship. So sure, so caring, so loving and so Alpha! He really was the whole package. Abby, omg, she touched me so deeply with her struggles, I felt instantly kinship to her. Suffering from OCD myself, so much so that it requires now treatment, I can honestly say that K.L. Grayson portrayed Abby’s emotions and struggles flawlessly. Every doubt, every herculean effort to resist, every obsessive moment couldn’t have been described more realistic that the author did. I have read more books where the subject is touched, but never with such intensity. Ms. Grayson pour on page the true struggles of an OCD mind in the most touching and respectful of ways. Abby truly was amazingly characterized, a perfect imperfection, just like their love. The way that Drake accepted, respected and LOVED Abby as whole, just made me fall for him even harder. They were perfect for one another, balancing each other in the most primal and romantic ways!

K.L. Grayson showed me just how much I’ve been missing out by just reading her books now. Impeccable and mature writing, heart touching and realistic characters, engaging plot and setting, and addictively enrapturing storylines that capture you from the very first word and leave wanting more, this book had it all. And true to my word, I can’t wait to read more of the author, and am now DYING of excitement to see what will come of her collaboration with my fav, Kristen Proby, in their coming release, Already Gone! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Our love isn’t perfect. Neither is our life or either one of us. But Drake has taught me that sometimes the most imperfect things can be pretty damn perfect. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Come here often?”
Now this book was exactly how I pictured a crossover book to be. I loved the interaction the chemistry it was great.

Getting Hannah and Brad from Book 1 was so awesome, it was wonderful to go back and be with them.
Abby and Drake are perfect for each other and once they figure it all out. Well, it was swoon-worthy.

I also loved the narration couldn’t ask for better.

4.5 STARS!
I love Grayson's Dirty Dicks series so was so excited for this novella. I have never read a Kristen Proby book and just loved the idea of this crossover series.
Abby and Drake met at a wedding and there was an instant connection. Abby, who doesn't like change or taking risks, steps out of her comfort zone to move to Montana for her nursing career and runs smack into one-night stand. Drake admittedly telling a little white lie about his career, but their relationship from the get-go was SO much fun, SO hot, and SO addicting.
I loved watching the behind the scenes of working in a hospital and seeing two professionals in action. Even more so, I loved their chemistry, their banter, Drake's acknowledgement of her imperfections and quirks.
It's always the woman in the situation that they find themselves in to have to make a life change, but I was so glad to see that change Drake step up to the plate and to do the right thing all in the name of love.
I absolutely love Grayson's writing and have since the beginning... I can't wait to read what she has in store for us next. <3

This is the second book I read from K.L. Grayson and I have to say that once again I was pleasantly surprised by what I read. I had the chance to read three books from the crossover collection and Crazy Imperfect Love is my favorite. The story was light and funny and very easy to read. The pace and the flow were great. Abigail and Drake's relationship felt natural which was great. Abigail overreacted a little, but I didn't mind and I honestly thought that everything worked very well overall. This short story might feature characters from 2 series from different authors, but it can be read as stand-alone, so you have no excuse for not picking it up. I am in love with this story and the characters and that doesn't happen often these days. I would have loved an epilogue where Abigail and Drake are having a turtle sanctuary.

4 Imperfect Stars!

Crazy Imperfect Love was an amazing addition to Kristen Proby’s Big Sky Crossover Series.

K.L. Grayson has written a sweet story of nurse and doctor falling in love in a forbidden workplace environment.

For a novella the characters were well developed the writing flowed well. Abby has OCD which is a mental health disorder that you don’t often read about it books.

Drake and Abby each have quirky personalities that I loved so much. They complimented each other and I adored it. Their passion and chemistry were off the charts.

The narrators were cast perfectly. Excellent job done by Jason Clarke and Chelsea Hatfield.

Love, Love, Loved this book! This was my first KL Grayson book, which I hate to admit. So far this Kristen Proby Crossover Collection has delivered! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the collection.

For Kristen Proby fans Dr Drake is everything you hope for and more! This felt like it could have easily been a Big Sky book in the series. It was all that I hoped it would be and more!

I always enjoy KL Grayson's books, but having never read Kristen Proby, I knew nothing about her Big Sky series. This is a quick, sweet novella that romance purists will love!

Stepping out of her comfort zone, Abby accepts a traveling nurse position that lands her back in the arms of her perfect one night stand, Drake, from her cousin's wedding a month earlier. Oh, and he just happens to be her superior...oops, lol. While this one had only a blip of angst, I guess you could consider it slightly taboo considering the hospital's non-fraternization policy. Drake and Abby have great chemistry and compliment each other well. I appreciate the acknowledgement of Abby's "quirks" and wish it would have been discussed more as I was really interested in this aspect of her personality and how it was going to be addressed. It was a sweet, feel good read, this angst lover just prefers a little more conflict :)

3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Abby is a friend of Hannah’s from Kristen Proby’s big sky series. This is a new to me author that collaborated with Kristen Proby on a crossover novel. I love crossover novels! I love the fact that Kristen’s books have the same characters throughout. It makes it so much fun and as a reader I get so excited when my old favorites pop up in other novels. So when I saw that Kristen collaborated with a few other authors to create these spin off novels, I was excited to read them.

Abby and Drake meet early on and we follow them through a sweet, fun and sometimes bumpy journey. This is a sweet, enjoyable read. Drake was a great listener and thoughtful. He was very caring towards Abby. Abby is a strong heroine who has had to overcome real obstacles that are common to those of many people’s lives. I liked the fact that we got some perspective into issues that aren’t discussed often in romance novels.

I’m sure if you’re already into the big sky series set in breathtaking Montana, you’ll like this one too 😊

Abigail Darwin is Cunningham Falls, Montana for her cousin Hannah's wedding and there she meets Drake Merritt and the two have the best night of their lives together. Months later, Abby gets a position as a travelling nurse in Cunningham Falls and once again she bumps into Drake at the hospital and finds out that he's the chief surgeon there. Abby and Drake had amazing chemistry and it was obvious that none of them forgot that night months ago. Drake decides to show Abby around their small town and maybe try to convince her to stay permanently. Abby had her own issues with doctors and being out of control with any type situation so she was wary at first but the way she felt for Drake was like anything she ever felt before. I really enjoyed this book and I am in love with the town of Cunningham Falls so that was a definite plus.

This is a quick story...Abigail is attending her cousin's wedding and, at the encouragement of another bridesmaid, decides to 'live a little' and have a one night stand with a stranger. What she never counts on is seeing the stranger again...at the hospital where she is a contract nurse...and he's the chief of surgery!!! The chemistry between Abigail and Dr. Drake Merritt is palpable, but the hospital has a strict 'no fraternization' policy between superiors and subordinates. Can the good doc and nurse resist the temptation? Well, you'll just have to read/listen to find out how it ends...

I really enjoyed this novella. It is part of the Big Sky crossover that Kristen Proby is sponsoring and though I had never read any of K.L. Grayson's (or Kristen Proby's) books before this one just sounded really cute. Now, I got an ARC for an honest review of this book because I'm on the review team for another one of the authors that is a part of this crossover. And I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read it. In this one we meet OCD nurse Abby who decides to try for a bit more adventure in her life. In that vein she takes a traveling nursing position with her first stop in Cunningham Falls, Montana. There she realizes she is working with her one time one night stand, Drake. What she didn't know at the time is that he was a doctor. Now, not only is he a doctor but he is her superior in a place with a strict no fraternization rule. Damn, can't a girl catch a break? You'll find out once you read this novella and, of course, fall in love with it!

Abigail and Drake make less than perfect look like so much fun. Crazy Imperfect Love tackles a serious subject with a light hearted twist. For Abigail her need for order is taking over her life. What better way is there to face your fears, than to shake up your routine? A change of direction takes her out of her comfort zone. A new city could be just the prescription for an adventure of the heart. Grayson adds spice and hint of sugar to stir up the heart.

This story makes my heart happy. Like the rest of the “Crazy” series, I was drawn right from the start and couldn’t put it down. I love Grayson’s writing style and how she tells a story, how the reader feels the emotions along with the characters.

I love how Abby and Drake meet and then meet again, how that one first night means so much more to both of them than it was intended.

The only thing I can say negatively about this one is that I wish there was more to Abby and Drake’s story!

Such a cute quick read with all the romance. I love KL’s writing and how she weaved this beautiful story in just the short amount of pages. Lots of hot chemistry and swoony romance make for an amazing read. KL showed us nobody is perfect but it’s what you make of all your imperfect love that is amazing and perfect. Another great book to warm your romantic heart.

Abigail & Drake are the sweetest!! I love their quirky relationship, it’s perfectly imperfect <3

When Abby is encouraged to step outside of her comfort zone and into the bed of a stranger, she never could’ve imagined her one-night stand being the chief surgeon at her new hospital, Dr. Drake Merritt.

Now that they’ve been unexpectedly reunited, their feelings experience a power surge and their worlds threaten to crumble. But there’s absolutely no way Drake will let Abigail get away again.

I LOVE THIS STORY!!! KL Grayson always pleases me with her words, this is just yet another beauty to add to that ever growing list.

LOVED A LOT:

ONE NIGHT STAND
HOT CHARMING STRANGER
BEAUTIFUL SMART NURSE
SMALL TOWN FEELS
INSTA LOVE
SWEET AND STEAMY

I was lucky enough to read this book early. I received three ARCs from this series and CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE was my favorite of the three. I enjoyed the writing style and it was almost like I was reading a Kristen Proby book. I love Kristen Proby she is my favorite and since K.L. Grayson's writing is similar I really enjoyed this book the most. I also enjoyed it for many other reasons. The main Character is a nurse, I am a nurse. It was cool reading and also relating to this book. I loved the imperfect parts of the characters because it gave the book a realistic feel and I could really relate to the characters. I loved the small town feel and the banter was hilarious. This book was way too short, I needed more. I wish it were a full length novel. My only hate was insta love but it still works. I still really enjoyed the book because the writing was good. It is not your typical romance novel. The issues in this book gave a deeper aspect, a different aspect because it was meaningful and not just sex. I really liked it a lot. I gave Crazy Imperfect Love 4.5 stars. This is my first book by Grayson but I already downloaded a few of her other books to read.

REVIEW: CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE is instalment 2.5 and novella in K.L. Grayson’s contemporary, adult DIRTY DICKS erotic, romance series. This is Dr. Drake Merritt, and twenty-six year old, RN Abigail Darwin’s story line. CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

NOTE: CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE is part of Kristen Proby’s BIG SKY multi-authored, cross over series.

Told from dual first person points of view (Abby and Drake) CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE follows the building but forbidden relationship between Dr. Drake Merritt, and twenty-six year old, RN Abigail Darwin. Thirty days earlier, at the wedding of mutual friends, Dr. Drake Merritt and Abigail Darwin, met and spent one night together that ended with Abigail saying goodbye. Fast forward to present day wherein Abigail, now working as a traveling nurse, finds herself face to face with her one night stand, a man she hasn’t stopped thinking about in all the time. Working together brings Drake and Abby together but a no fraternization policy is in force at the hospital, a policy that will force our couple to make a decision about their futures, together or alone. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Abby and Drake, and the potential fall-out as Abby panics in the face of professional misconduct.

CRAZY IMPERFECT LOVE focuses on OCD, breaking the rules and falling in love. Our heroine struggles with an emotional disorder that oft-times paralyzes our heroine in her daily life. Dr. Drake Merritt knows what he wants, and he want Abby Darwin but rules meant to be obeyed are in opposition to the growing love between our leading couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense. The premise is engaging and captivating: the characters are dynamic and colorful; the romance is fiery and hot.

While I enjoyed this light and quick read, I don't like that it's been slotted under the Dirty Dicks series. It wasn't set in the same town, there were no scenes at the bar, and the character of Abby wasn't mentioned in the previous stories. So where's the connection?

Setting that aside, I really appreciated how Drake recognized Abby's behaviours and accepted them. (Although the incident that triggered the OCD is a bit heartbreaking.) I liked that Abby was working towards pushing herself out of her comfort zones, but I would have liked for there to have been a new therapist in the new city, or at least touching base with her old therapist. Oh, and some CBD tools in use for dealing with her anxiety.

I would more of an apology from Drake for cutting Abby out of his decision making process. Knowing about her anxiety and her worry about that very situation occurring from the get-go, a simple throwaway line of "I could tell you were freaking out and I wanted to give you time to recover." That would have gone a long way to putting him in the right, whereas the way it was written made it seem like she didn't have any right to be shocked by what happened.

Also, I was not a fan of Drake's eventual declaration that her quirks were becoming annoying "like you promised." I'd hope that if someone fell in love with me and my quirks it would never get annoying. I'd also like to believe that with continued therapy and the steady presence of Drake that some of those "quirks" would have settled over time. (I read it as a warning rather than promise, so it wouldn't have had to get to that place of annoyance.) Again, therapy is key here and Drake should have accompanied her to a few sessions.

Still, overall it was a quick and enjoyable read.

Both of these characters are from Kristen's stories and both first appear in Hannah's book. Abby is her cousin and Drake is her best Dr. friend. So I'm really not sure where the cross-over part of this story is since I've not read any from this author. My guess would be she also has an Abby, and so those 2 characters merged.

If you want a reading order for the crossovers this should be read first, even before Soaring with Fallon, b/c that story shows Abby and Drake together as a couple

I found it interesting for Abby to have her OCD anxiety issue, since her cousin Hannah has some of the worst anxiety of all of Kristen's characters. That was an interesting part of the story, how it developed and how she copes.

Over all this was slow and I never really felt the attraction between Drake and Abby. While I am glad it was on the short side, I fell like the story could have been flushed out a bit more with a longer story. There were points where it felt like it would be a slow burn and there would not be enough time left to get all the needed story line in for a satisfying end. The story just had a weird flow and pacing to it that never worked for me

Then there was then fact this felt a LOT like Fight With Me and the whole no frat policy and and that scene in the conference room went down nearly identical to how it did in the other book.

And again my other issue with crossover, we are introduced to two new food places, the pizza place and the hamburger place. Abby's, the place with the most amazing hamburgers ever, and we will never see either of those places ever again. They were created for this story and will never be used, even though the hamburger join is some long standing CHF tradition.

I’ll be honest here and admit I’ve never read a Kristen Proby book before (gasp! I know!), BUT I am a HUGE KL Grayson fan and have read every book in her Dirty D’s series, so I wasn’t about to pass this one up. Anywhose… Abby and Drake meet at a wedding and instantly the sparks were flying. Abby finally stepped out of her comfort zone and had a wild night of incredibly HOT sex that kept her body singing and her thoughts on Drake. Fresh out of nursing school, she takes a job as a travel nurse and winds up in Montana with her cousin Hannah and while checking on one of her new patients, runs smack into the sexiness that she can’t stop thinking about. Only problem is he’s now sort of her boss and the hospital has a strict “no fraternization” policy, but Dr. Drake Merritt doesn’t give a rat’s a$$ and is determined to see where this goes.

Can I just say how much I freaking love Drake Merritt? Tall, dark, sexy, AND a doctor? Hello? I think YES! I’ve been in the medical field for almost thirty years and I have NEVER come across a doctor like that. Anyways, I adored this quick crossover read and enjoyed every single minute. These two have chemistry in spades and their banter is nothing shy of foreplay. If you’re a fan of the Dirty D’s series, you definitely need to add this one to your collection.

It doesn't get much better than this. Crazy Imperfect Love checks off almost every single box of what I love in a romance.

Adorably timid, organized and quirky Abby. Confident, impulsive and sexy Drake. Two polar opposites who can't deny their attraction. Even when they know they should. I liked how Drake slowly worked to break through Abby's walls. How he gently pushed to get her to open up to him. How he was patient and accepted her for who she was. And Abby did the same for him. It didn't hurt that these two were electric in the bedroom, or the floor or the...you get the point.

The odds weren't in their favor and there were a lot of details to iron out. All they were sure about was they would somehow, some way make it work. But with both of their busy schedules, there wasn't a whole lot of time for them to figure out what was next. And when the inevitable happened, it set off a chain reaction of events and emotions.

While K.L. Grayson has long been one of my go-to authors, this book was something a little extra. It was about communication and acceptance. Patience and understand. Chasing your dreams and following your heart. Drake and Abby weren't perfect, but they owned their flaws, and were indeed perfect for each other. And that ending took me straight swoonville.

Crazy Imperfect Love by KL Grayson is an amazing novella because it's a Dirty D's novella and a Big Sky novella which is part of the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection. Yas!!! Truly fabulous! It's a short, steamy, quick and sweet read. Abigail and Drake's story is so interesting and very good. How they met at a wedding leads to a sizzling one night. Abby is the type of girl who likes things to be all organized and together while Drake is this handsome man who is spicy and very interesting. Next time these two meet, he's her new boss for he's a doctor and she's the new nurse at Cunningham Falls, Montana hospital where she has landed at in her new position after graduating nursing school. There is a no fraternization rule in place ... will their relationship stay strictly as co workers or can they get their relationship moving forward where they get the HEA they so richly deserve. This is a funny, steamy, hot and great read. Love the characters and the feels this story gives.
