The Kansas Jayhawks won their 14th straight Big 12 title.
But the final year wasn't easy. It looked like the 2017-18 team was going to be the big disappointment.
All year long, the team was known for what they "didn't" have. Didn't have size. Didn't protect homecourt. Didn't have the usual Bill Self toughness.
This team kept chipping away and over time developed into another No. 1 or No. 2 seed.
The story is told kind of like Godfather 2, bouncing back and forth from the teams in the past to this year's team. I focus on all the good things of the past teams and the flaws of this year's team, until the end when I flip the script.
If you are a die-hard Kansas Jayhawks fan, this is a must-read. It's a history lesson dripping with nostalgia that will remind you just how good we've had it in the Bill Self era.
