C.G. Cooper

C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.

One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.

Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.

Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.

His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.

Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.

Good thriller.

After the contentious elections I wonder how much goes on behind the scenes that we don't hear. Cal and his team find out who is their friend. President Zimmerman running for second term and Republican nominee Congressman McKnight is friend of Cal! Get well Liberty.

Liberty Down - Damn Brilliant!

I had given this series a break for a few weeks and continued reading a different series of books. But now I’m back, I realise just how much I enjoy them. The plot is always so real, you can imagine yourself alongside them. This book had a bit of a sad element but it did all work out in the end, thank goodness! It’s good to see the dam split up and have to find their own ways back to Cal, to reconvene and get out of trouble! A brilliant book again and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series. Very worthy of 5 Stars.

I couldn't put the story down!

I read this magnificent story over the course of a single six hour session. It was simply magnificent!! I'd rank it as one of the top three books I've read this year. And, I consume two to four books every week... I haven't gotten out much over the past 18 months -- recovering from a car accident and then a motorcycle accident (none my fault)... So I read a great deal.... This book was simply fantastic! The twists and turns kept me intensely focused on the task at hand. The story and the characters were magnificently developed.... it's going to be hard for the author to top this book. There, the gauntlet of challenge has been tossed down in front of you Mr Cooper... I hope you'll pick it up :)

Compelling Drama, Cover to Cover

C. G. Cooper has hit a grand slam: malice, mystery, murder, and mayhem! Add in some romance, highest level political intrigue, Islamic terrorists wanting to destroy Paris, and a hero dog named Liberty and you've got the full-monte!
Seriously, this is the best yet of Cooper's Justice Book series. I didn't make it non-stop but today's session was a marathon finish. I just couldn't put it down! And good news, another one is in the works with revenge the prime motivator. Please hurry C.G.!

Liberty Down. C.G. Cooper

The presidential election is drawing to a close . President Zimmer is the clear leader and favored to win. The Republican candidate is a close friend. POTUS has been tricked, deceived. The Republican candidate could be his downfall. The Jefferson Group , the Presidents covert team of extremely well trained operators and his close friends are unraveling the opponents scheming tactics. But will they solve it in time? This is an outstanding read. Enjoyed immensely

I'm finally up to speed in this series

I was randomly choosing the books haphazardly. I had a hard time following the plots even though taken as stand alone novels they were very entertaining. When I researched for more books by Carlos Cooper the whole chronological sequence made it apparent what my problem was. I quickly sampled the books that I had already read in the proper order and when I got to SABOTAGE, I was up to speed! Just finished Liberty Down and now on to Sins of the Father.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CORRUPTIONS ATTACK THE PRESIDENCY

Spellbinding Tale that fits perfectly into this Series. Fiction, but filled with Political & Character Lessons; as well as action, excitment, suspence, and elements of realism.
The World is filled with Deceits & Dangers. We need not just Good but Great Defenders & Leaders. Sometimes we are fortunate & sometimes we are more Endangered than acceptable.
This story is a mix of both.
Enjoy!!!

Twists and turns....

Wow. What a bunch of twists. And the thing with Liberty, now that was a mean plot line that had me in tears. Overall, great addition to the series. Can't wait to see what happens with Zimmerman, Cal, Liberty girl, Daniel & Anna, Rourke (maybe he joins the good guys), and Fowler. Already can't wait for the next novel. Keep up the good work CG!

Corps Justice Series

This story along with all the others in the series are outstanding with a huge backstory to make you feel part of the family to the men who make the story work. C.G. writes interesting stories and details strong enough to place you in the middle of everything.I have enjoyed the whole series and plan to check out the spinoff series.

True to form, this book kept me plugged in. I read the whole book the same day, and couldn’t wait to turn the pages. This series will keep you up at night waiting to see what will happen next to The Jefferson Group, or if President Zimmerman will figure out who he can really trust. On to Book 14 in Series. Hope your are enjoying there Travels as much as I am.

Good read

Mr Cooper still develops characters to fit the prior molds they filled. This book exposed the weakness of protagonists and makes them real. They make mistakes, apply logic that doesn’t fit and get out of character at times.
CG is a great author who gets better with each book!

Another Homerun!

Another, proverbial, nailbiter! Read it in two sessions with the suspense keeping me on the edge of my seat...again. The ending was a surprise, with a few tears for liberty along the way. Now, I'm waiting for book number 14.

The best one yet!

No doubt about it, Liberty Down is the best one yet in the Corps Justice series. Daniel & Top now have women in their lives, a bit jealous of Anna I must say... LOL But Liberty is the companion everyone needs. Love that dog!

Another great story about Cal and the crew. Short parts having to do with their love lives could have been left out, in my opinion, but still a fun, enjoyable read. Glad the Antagonist got what he deserved!

Jefferson Group reboot

This chapter in Cal's adventure surly places the Jefferson Group in a position of regrouping for the future and most likely changes how the storyline progresses for Cal and his close net group of friends as they move forward. Another great book!

great series!

I love CG Coopers characters! They are complicated and endearing. He writes with an insiders view of our political parties, the good and the bad. More people should understand how our government is really run and by whom. I’m addicted!

I guess the lesson from this book is never go on vacation. At least that’s what it seemed like. I will admit that a couple of the guys found new girlfriends. So that was good.

Another great Corps Justice book!

Cal Stokes and friends are being stalked and their relationship with President Zimmer is about to be blown. How it all works out makes this an interesting story with a lot of twist and false starts thrown in.
