«¡Una obra maestra del género del thriller y misterio! El autor hizo un trabajo magnífico desarrollando a los personajes psicológicamente, tanto así que sientes que estás en sus mentes, vives sus temores y aclamas sus éxitos. La trama es muy inteligente y te mantendrá entretenido durante todo el libro. Este libro te mantendrá pasando páginas hasta bien entrada la noche debido a sus giros inesperados.»
--Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (sobre Una vez desaparecido)

Wow!!! If one could have a Netflix series it would be on Riley Page Series. I would be over the moon. I love the twist and turns of this series. Even in the mist of life happenings she pulls though the tragic moments. This is for sure a page turner and a MUST read the next book. Author Blake Pierce is extremely talented (in my opinion) and have master a deep sense of each of his character mind. Truly brilliant and my new found favorite author.

( AUDIOLIBRO )

This was riveting, didn't want to put it down. The bad guy in this case was dubbed the Clown Killer because he dressed as a clown and dressed his victims as clowns before he killed them. Clowns never did bother me although they were kind of creepy. However, while reading this I found myself suddenly wanting to avoid them at all costs. Not sure I'll ever view them the same. Riley Paige was an intriguing character, young, extremely smart, and with a real gift at getting into the mind of a killer. She is accepted into the FBI's summer internship program but is singled out by Agent Crivaro to help him on the Clown murders when he recognizes her skills. What he doesn't plan on is Riley placing herself in the killer's sights and becoming a target herself. In her eagerness to catch the man she crosses a line and jeopardizes her entire career.

This was a great start to the trilogy and the introduction of the main character. Riley has the rare gift of getting into the mind of a killer, something she discovers while helping on her first case. She's reluctant to say anything, not wanting her superiors to think she's crazy. Nor does she want to share the fact with her boyfriend who isn't real happy about her working out in the field and putting her life in danger. When she realizes she might actually be helping by sharing what insight she has into the killer's mind, she tells Agent Crivaro, the one leading the investigation. At first he's skeptical, then once he sees she really does seem to possess this gift he begins to pay attention to what she has to say. Although he treats her like a newbie, the intern she is, every once in awhile he reveals a softer side and an apparent protectiveness towards Riley. I would definitely recommend this book if you like creepy serial killers and a story that will keep you turning pages, wanting to know how it ends.

SOFT 3 stars.

The case and story in this one was fun and interesting. It kept me guessing and had good twists. Loved that this one involved clowns because everything is creepier with clowns haha.

I'm liking this series, however! I cannot stand Riley and her disregard for consequences.
I loath how she tries to catch the killer by herself and has no regard for the FBI process or her seniors/mentors. She doesn't listen to orders and will knowingly go into situations without telling anyone, BY HERSELF, where she knows the killer will be and is fucking surprised when she gets hurt, caught or in shit from her mentor.

She's an intern, not an agent but she is making calls and acting like an agent when she has no right or authority to and it pisses me off.

All of her actions are so childish. I'm hoping in the next books she grows up a bit and doesn't act on impulse all the friggen time.

Ryan is a walking red flag.

In this book Riley is in an intern program with the FBI. She is there because the FBI Agent...Jake Crivaro has pulled many strings and called in favors to get her there. Riley has a gift of insight that Jake recognizes as rare and believes in her ability to become a great agent. But he had to fight for her so much he also doubts himself - and her. On her first day as an intern, she is included in a serial murder investigation where a man kills women and paints a clown face on them.
I admit I did think there was too much internal questioning of herself - but other than that a good book

I'd read Book 1 of the "Making of Riley Paige" series and liked it so much, I immediately got book 2 - "Waiting". In this book, Riley Sweeney (not yet Paige) has graduated college and is in an FBI intern program where (like me at that age, and many of the people I have led who are just starting out) - she was short on patience to have a significant role and opportunity to contribute. Her instincts keep driving her to find the killer, while her boss, fiance, and others try to hold her back so she will observe and learn the basics. She keeps messing up - a lot because she charges off to try and "help" solve the crime. I just loved that she wasn't some perfect young woman, taking all perfect steps, with no conflict in her life. Another fast-paced, suspenseful, page-turning book by this author and so I am no in Book 3.

Good read, but frustrating

I enjoy Blake Pierce’s writing and I’ve enjoyed several of his books. The books have interesting twists and turns and readers are also given the opportunity to collect clues and try to figure out the killers.

The Riley Page books frustrate me because she’s a rogue, wanna-be agent who gets herself in a lot of trouble. Some of the scenarios are hard to believe. The fact that Riley can’t seem to follow orders or instructions makes her a danger.

I am going in to the next book in the series and hope that Riley becomes less flighty and grows up a bit.

I absolutely crave this series! There are two different Riley Paige series--one is called 'the making of Riley Paige which goes back 20 years to cover her internship and training in the BAU Unit for the FBI. The regular Riley Paige series is in current time now that she is full FBI working in the BAU unit. Best series ever because she actually puts her thoughts into how a killer would think; things get SO intense and psychologically the best books I have ever read. I highly recommend.

Great story, as usual. Blake Pierce is one of my favourite authors... but I think it may be time to hire a new person to proofread everything! The typos are distracting, to say the least. Besides that, I loved the book and can’t wait for the next one!

PS English is my second language, so excuse me if I made any mistakes in my review!

Love this series!

I have read the later Riley Page series and enjoyed them. It’s interesting reading about how she got where she is now. Blake Crouch does a good job of writing from a woman’s viewpoint. Riley is gutsy, somewhat reckless, with an insatiable curiosity, and definitely a strong female.

These books are incredibly addictive and as you can see from my reading list, I am reading them at the rate of knots. I have been devouring this series and every other series this author has written. What I will note, is that the books seem to be getting shorter at the same price point and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. However, the stories just bring me back for more and more and more.

Exciting.

Kept me up too late. For all of her good ups Riley is meant to stay with the FBI training. Good plot, fast moving, and I look forward to keeping up with Riley's next case.

I listened to the audiobook version of this, I was so confused! The h is from rural Virginia and the setting is in Washington DC and the FBI is involved too, and they all have British accents. The h makes really poor, dumb choices for being so smart.

Riley Paige finds herself conflicted with choosing between being a mother or workplace, specifically if she is willing to go behind her husband's advice and continue to work for the special homicide services. Personally, I was super excited to jump into reading this book because of how the last one ended on a cliffhanger. From the start, I was hooked on this book from the first page, starting off with the killer clown's brain and who his first victim was. Immediately I felt empathy for Riley as she tries to decide what her future will look like after her life has been turned upside down. The main issues in the book conclude mental health and this book does a beautiful job explaining how important it truly is. I appreciate the way that the struggles were being represented, with the author explaining that showing your emotions and asking for help when struggling means that you are strong, not weak. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good murder mystery, along with mental health boosters.

Overall story good

The story itself is good, there were some very clever twists and I liked how the plot developed. I really enjoy the mystery side of these books and no doubt will read the next one as the concepts are always fascinating.

There were a few things I didn't enjoy as much though. I saw the medical problem Riley had coming and felt like the situation wasn't mentioned enough before it happened. I didn't think Ryan and Riley's relationship was very realistic at the end of the last book and didn't like the way things ended for them in this one either.

I also really struggled to keep reading due to the lack of editing the book has had. There were several errors as well as the very repeated use of the word 'wondered' which I personally found quite jarring. There was also far too much use of ellipsis, quite often incorrectly.

Overall a good read, but sometimes tough to see the great plot through some of the actual writing.

Well this recap of early Riley Paige once again was full inconsistencies and really duhhh moments that had my eyes rolling so hard, I think I hurt my brain. I really am struggling with how her life both professionally and personally is so crap considering her immense intuition and “gift”.

What was very obvious in this story was that her husband Ryan is a doosh, right back when they first met until the current books, a doosh, and someone with that level of intuition should be able to read just how dooshy, unreliable and selfish he really is.

Also the FBI protocols or lack there of in this book, were very frustrating “oh sure ex FBI trainee person, go to the abandoned centre all by yourself, don’t worry we will meet you there, just wait outside for us ok, if you don’t mind, gee thanks”. Ugh!!!

"You came! I knew you would!"

Blake Pierce did it again!!!

I seriously should just copy and paste my summaries of his novels because each is just as amazing, unique, and can't-put-it-down!

And I LOVE how perfectly imperfect his characters are, and yet they work out their struggles, figure out how to use their strengths to strengthen their friends/partners (romantic and coworkers and otherwise) weaknesses, and help and love each other even though and even when.

And the women are kick ass!!!

And EVERYONE is on an equal playing field, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, and all the other labels and differences that today's society can't seem to stop fixating on.

Is it any wonder why I love Blake's books!!!

I'm really liking going back to see how Riley Page got to be where she is at in present day. This one she starts her journey in the intern program in Washington while Ryan also starts his new law job. They are still learning about each other and trying to figure out how their lives will work together. When Riley gets to her first day, she is actually pulled right into another case. Every time she is at the intern program everyone keeps giving her different looks wanting to know all about her last case. This case she can't figure out what role she is going to play, but she ends up putting her nose in father than she should. Either way, it is nice to follow!

PG 13 literally finished this in two days haha two things that bothered me a bit though; first, Riley’s impulsiveness is driving me nuts, especially towards the end of the book! Like you jumping without thinking already ruined your career yet you are gonna follow the tire tracks right after being told to wait…and then I just don’t like her and Ryan’s relationship at all. It was cute at first but I just feel likes not working out so I definitely felt meh about them getting back together right at the end. Otherwise this was a really great read!

I really enjoyed this book. It had some proof reading errors but nothing too bad in my view. I can't comment on the realism as I'm not too sure on FBI going ons but I enjoyed the story, the plot twists and the pace of the story.

I find Riley especially likeable and it's interesting to see how her life develops. I particularly like how she can get into the mind of the killer.

Just bought the next three books in the series and can't wait for more to come. I am HOOKED

Waiting (The Making of Riley Paige)

Another hit for me. I am a Blake Pierce fan and Riley Paige is one of my favorite mystery series. It is good 👍🏾 getting to know how Riley Paige began as a FBI profiler and agent is really thrilling for me. If you have never read a series by Blake Pierce you could start with this series. I would highly recommend this book 📚📖 and this series. Get any series by Blake Pierce you won't be disappointed.

Second book in The Making of Riley Paige series. I like seeing the development of Riley's character and getting a closer look at her start with the FBI. I was intrigued by this story and we are introduced to the serial killer and it's a freaking clown. Overall, the plot moves quickly and keeps you interested.

This series just gets better and better.

Riley is still finding who she is and what she wants, but has a real talent to get into the headspace of a killer.
Will her boyfriend Ryan and her relationship survive it all, even if they are honest with each other?
Time and more reading will tell.

Riley is offered a sought after internship at the FBI after graduation. But Riley finds herself the envy of her follow interns as she ends working on an active serial killer case. Teaming up with Agent Crivaro again, will they find the killer before someone else dies.

I've read all 4 books currently and am waiting for book 5.

If you enjoyed the first book you will like this one!
