Corps Justice #11

The Zimmer Doctrine

Rate this book
While The Zimmer Doctrine stands as a beacon of courage and hope, its architect, American President Brandon Zimmer, still needs his most important ally at his side. But rocked with personal loss, and a nagging sense of doubt and inevitability, Cal Stokes may no longer be the man to stand with his friend, or to lead the warriors of The Jefferson Group. What does the future hold for this once stalwart patriot, and what might his inaction mean for America and its allies?

C.G. Cooper

C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.

One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.

Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.

Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.

His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.

Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.

Brilliant!

What a read! It was great to see everyone rally round Cal while giving him the space he needed. But how brilliant to see him back at his best while on a mission. A fantastic book and recommend other readers don’t miss it. 5 Star worthy!

Very good book.

Love this series, fast moving action. Very happy about Liberty. "Implement our own ideology in cultures and settings that would be better served in a different way" should be carved in the walls of oval office.

I have read all the Corps Justice books in the series - somehow, I overlooked this one. All except two received 5 stars. Unfortunately, The Zimmer Doctrine doesn't live up to the expectations of C.G. Cooper's other stories; it started out slow when Cal felt sorry for himself and continued on for some time. I don't really recall seeing any action until almost 70% into the story which was a big disappointment. And then, was just ho hum.

In this story, a billionaire plans to wage war on the United States via Isreal. His island home in the Bahamas is a fortress with many levels - both above and below ground. He also incorporated "toys" into the building for removing unwanted guests and for fast get-aways when needed. One hostage on the island is the Israeli Prime Minister's sister, who is also a mole for the United States. The ending left me unsatisfied!

All-in-all, I am a fan of this author and highly recommend the other books in the series.

'The Zimmer Doctrine' was by far one of the best books in this series. And I've had ten other books to consider when saying that. The story line was incredibly bold and extremely creative. Well written and well thought out. There were many thrilling scenarios, a lot of twists and turns and an array of amazing characters. Cal and his team have been through hell and have come out stronger for it. I absolutely love this series. I can't wait to read the next book. A must add to your tbr list. Recommended.

Go with the Flow!

This is my 4th book of Cooper. It looks that I am expecting too much from the author, considering my review title.
A secret operation is underway to wake a war against USA. Meanwhile, US President Zimmer's United Nation Address is met with a mixed reaponse. One day, a lady is introduced to Zimmer. Sending something is fish, Zimmer asks his trusted friend, Cal Stokes to dig into the matter.
Who is the lady? What will Cal & his team find out?
Read the novel to know the answers.

As usual, Mr. Cooper keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspense, drama and action. I feel like I personally know the main group of characters from the having read almost all of the series. Also have enjoyed a couple of the books focused on Daniel ("Snake Eyes") Keep writing them and I'll keep reading!

The Zimmer Doctrine. C.G. Cooper

Forces are in play to undermine America, Great Britain, Israel. A billionaire funding it . Spies have infiltrated all three countries. POTUS calls in his covert team, TJG, the Jefferson Group. All Hell is about to break loose . This is an explosive action filled read! Enjoyed immensely!

Cal is back

After the loss of Travis, Cal went on a half year sabbatical. He was still grieving when Travis's last letter was found and led to a blow out party. The next morning the President got some information from a deep undercover lady that put the Jefferson Group to work. Exciting and action packed and I like the new addition.

Slower than Most

Notwithstanding my 3 star rating, I did enjoy this book -- just not as much as the other Corps Justice series. This one was just a little slower, especially at the start, than previous books in the series.

Wonderful story about justice

Cal finally snaps out of his grief and foil a plot against world powers by some misguided money and power hungry rich people and politicians and government officials.

Interesting

Another excellent book by C G Cooper.
Imagine if politicians were to do what is best for their constituents ...
Although this is a work of fiction, there is a lot of insight into the inner workings of the governments of this planet....

Joy after tears

Like Cal, I took a few months off before reading this book. I had to grieve 😢 however I enjoyed this book tremendously. The camaraderie and friendships in this book make it special for me. I loved the story line.

Good read

Pretty good premise for an intrigue story. A tad complex in parts but overall a very good book. Also notable is this is the first book in the series with a missed typo. Glad to see that your Beta readers are human. Overall they are the best in the eBook realm.

President Zimmer

CG Cooper can really write. I put the book down but was quick to pick it up again. I couldn't believe that Baxter thought he was untouchable. I'm glad Cal finally took out the trash. Can't wait to read the next one!

Gung Ho !!!!

Much to my surprise, I found Cooper writes cleanly. Even military action isn't steeped in blood and guts. There was only one really bad guy who sliced people up . Fed them to sharks and his employees . Frankly we could do with his model of a President.

The Zimmer Doctrine

If only this doctrine were true and the current president was capable of implementing it. Imagine how things would be different. Instead we are faced with chaos perpetrated by an incompetent moron.

Totally awesome!

Cooper just gets better and better. The beginning definitely started with a shocker! I liked the 007 style. Cooper is giving Patterson a run for his money!
