Motivational/selfhelp Half hour read. For such a short read it's quite good. I'd recommend it. Simple, easy to understand with a list of challenges at the end to get you started.
I definitely would have liked a bit more depth to help me not only understand why i should work on trying to stop caring what others think, but also help me understand better how i can program my brain to do so. But with the small amount of pages this one has, I can't say i think it ought to have explained all that. I'm not sure that would've been realistic without making this into a seriously sized book.
Anywho, it's clean, I enjoyed it and it gave me plenty to think about. It's a good, quick read.
While I appreciate a short and simple text, this felt exceptionally surface level to me. I know a few people appreciated the basic and clear writing, but it made it feel like we would never get to the heart of the material. I will say that sometimes it is important to have common sense tactics and thoughts laid out for you in order to see that your mindset and what you are doing is coming from the right place. My favorite line was 'We all have this ideal self in our heads that we are constantly bumping against the external world for validation. We are fortunate enough to understand our mental models and change them if they don't serve us.' Basically, do the work.
Very short book but also simple to read. A lot of common sense and something that you should always stand by. If you don’t want someone to do it to you don’t do it to anyone else.
I’ve always been a people pleaser I guess and majority of the time I care about what other people think but I’m on a voyage of personal discovery as dramatic as that sounds but I will use this book to help me care less about what people think of me. All that matters is my opinion of myself and I’m definitely working on that right now.
I really liked this book. I will tell you I am 71, been a nurse over 40 years. Nurses are known in the profession " to eat their own". I never could do that, I loved to teach them. This year I found myself in a sad, bad spot and ended up quitting my job and retired. This book helped me so much and I never really doubted my decision, I did not like it, but I knew I was not going but on my own decision. Thank you for this book.
Came across your book by chance on a Sunday evening whilst relaxing & trying to forget I had to return to work the next day to a job which I feel undermined & not appreciated in even though I try my hardest to be helpful& to get on with people. I have for a while been saying to myself that I shouldn't care what others think & to do more to make me happy. To see someone else writing about how I felt & how to start to slowly change things really helped. Thank you x
I don't remember if I paid for this or not. If I did, it was a complete waste of money. Just obvious tips and a very short book.
Still, I admire Russell. Not for this book. More the fact he bleated on about how important it is to not care about what others think of you or your work. He then wrapped up by saying we should leave a review as he cares what we think...
This is my review. 1 star. I got nothing from this. The tips are just common sense.
Stop Caring! I will always be judged and that is okay…
If this tittle calls your attention, then read it. I am sure you will get some good advice out of this one. People will always judge you without knowing what is happening with your life, and those who you believe to be good or friends are the ones really criticizing all the negative aspects of you, but will not point out your positive actions.
For someone who doesn't learn through reading well. I appreciated the shortness of this book. I'm a shadow of my former self because of my own self critic. I look forward to putting the techniques into action. I carry a mirror so I can tell myself off when my inner critic starts an argument.
This little book is a great guide to being your true ,authentic self. The people pleasing aspect is invaluable insight. Your genius is right there for the manifesting. What others think of you positive or negative is their concern not yours. Great book Russ.
I read this book with an open mind i fly d quite a few things in it that related to me and have me a push to be who i want to be and do It's mostly the things you know you should do but it's written with easy to understand sentences that make you just to go out there a grab the world
A short well written guide on how to stop being so concerned about what others think, or constantly seeking others validation, something I am very guilty of and then to take action &life your best life for you alone free of the shackles of others opinions.
LOVED this quick read. I don’t usually post reviews unless I feel really strongly about them…this book is life changing. I plan on printing out my notes to read them again and again.
Great points made, good starting point for people who care about what other people think of them. It’s a cruel world but everyone will have opinions, it’s up to us how we react to them.
I saw this on kindle unlimited and thought yeah why not, it’s the smallest book ever but I am actually so glad I chose to read this. I am left feeling motivated and inspired to do better. I would recommend this to everyone who is lacking in motivation!!
A must-read for anyone struggling with defining themselves. I love this book. Short and to the point (like me, except I'm not short). I would recommend it to anyone at any time in their life. Universally relevant.
Such a quick read full of common sense tips that every person should read. There are no tips on how to do them. So it's really good but really too short
A helpful little book with some great ideas. A good starting point to help you reflect on your interactions and sometimes your dependence on other people’s opinions.
