Corporate Truth

Rate this book
From award winning writer, Karl William Fleet, Corporate Truth is a gripping thrill ride through the mind of a murderous sociopath that leaves you wanting more. Go deeper and darker than you have ever gone before, if you dare.

From inside his high-rise office, ruthless sociopath Justin Truth surveys his panoramic view of New York City.
This is his city. His country. His America.
Justin is on a mission to conquer the corporate giant, Soda-Cola. He will threaten, backstab, manipulate, blackmail, sabotage, and cut the throat of anyone who gets in his way.
And it’s all going to his cold, calculating plan—or is it?
As his thirst for power within Soda-Cola grows, his darker side grows even darker, thrusting Justin high into the ranks of America’s most dangerous and prolific serial killers.

One detective stumbles onto the truth, however. Detective Ross Smith finds Justin’s trail of murders—murders painstakingly disguised as accidental deaths. But can an aging detective more consumed with doing what’s right than playing internal politics bring down a high-functioning, murderous, corporate sociopath?

As Ross gets closer to the truth, he’s faced with a choice: put his badge, family, and life on the line, or further his career by following orders.

Will the truth come out before it’s too late—for everyone?

This is one of the sickest, most twisted, crazy books I've ever read. Not sure what's scarier..that this is a book or that I am enjoying the crap out of it. Maybe both.

I do not know how to do this review without spoilers but I shall try.

So this book is about a corporate psychopath..sociopath, loser, twisted maniac..who rapes and kills people as he climbs the corporate ladder.

If you see my above comments, you will see I started out really getting into this book. It was some seriously twisted shit but sometimes one needs or wants that in their reading.

However..it just got to twisted for me. And TRIGGER WARNINGS:
MULTIPLE RAPES..ANIMAL CRUELTY. Pretty much everything that could happen does happen.

In spite of those things I proceeded to the end. And..this is NOT a spoiler..but you really have to keep reading the next few installments because it turns out this is a series which I did not know because I did not look carefully enough. That is on me.

As another reviewer out it..I am not a series person. Occasionally but usually not. I want a book with an ending.

Basically this is a book where this prick does one despicable thing after another while suffering no repercussions.

And that just does not sit well with me.

Now the writer KNOWS how to get one addicted to reading. I freely admit I was into this book by page two. It moves at a lightning pace and one barely even notices the pages flying by. You get so invested. You want to know so badly what happens.

SPOILERS:

I never found out because there isn't an ending, not really. And it turns out there are at least two other books in the series and judging by the reviews he does alot more horrible things and still doesn't get caught.

I did read a series once..a YA series about a teenage female sociopath that took place at a boarding school. But that was fun in a way this wasn't. There was no rape or animal cruelty. It DID get a bit murderous(OK..more then a bit) but I mean you always knew she'd get caught.

I praise the writer here for being a good writer. I mean the story's addicting. I read one review where the reviewer said they called out sick to work just to finish this book. I get that. But even though I too, read it at full speed ahead, it was just to unpleasant for me and I suppose even I have limits to the twisted aspects I will want to read in my books.

That does not mean I am not curious..I mean..if I knew he'd get caught I'd have rated this one point higher AND might read the next few installments. I can't help it..I mean..this guy's like not even human. But the rapes and animal abuse were what primarily had me rating it low.

I do hope this utterly shit show of a human being gets caught at some point. He has absolutely no redeeming qualities at all. Blech..he's vile.

Sooooo ..... after being locked out of my Kindle app I've decided to have a bit of a clean up in my various "Books Read" lists. First cabs off the rank are my DNF pile. If I DNF'd it and have absolutely NO intention of reading it again, I'm changing my rating to 1 🌟 and deleting it off my Kindle. Life is too short at my age for crappy books!!

Original Review:

This is a 2.5 star read. DNF'd at 63%.

I normally love my serial killer thrillers but ..... like, I REALLY struggled with this - despite all it's five star reviews. Psychopath as the main character? Bold move, and I normally lap that shit up like it's cream, but with constant sex lines like:

"... I don't know if you've met Jennifer, this girl I'm fucking. And when I say fucking, I mean fucking-her-ass-till-she-bleeds type fucking ....."

That's a NUP!! for me. I don't know whether it's my bipolar brain or I'm just getting too old but it's hard to get into a book when there is not ONE redeeming thing about a character and you're really wishing someone would just lodge an axe in his head. The fact there are two more books to follow to prove he gets away with everything is ..... kinda depressing.

A scintillating insight into how a high functioning psychopath's mind works, it is however, just not for me.

When it comes to the Bad Guy, Justin Truth is on a whole new level. This book is an evilly addictive read. Page after page you delve into a visually wicked world of murder, greed and deception.

I kind of wandered off my usual reading path when I chose this book and I’m glad I did. This book contains quite a few wtf moments. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will read the second book in this series ASAP.

Not a very nice person.

I wasn't too sure about this book at first. I did really enjoy it though. Need to read the next one to see what happens.

To say that main character in Corporate Truth book, Justin Truth, is a sociopath is a gross understatement. I don’t know if anyone has developed a bad enough label for people like him. Accomplished Author Karl William Fleet grabs the mind of the reader and does NOT let go. Gut wrenching, evoking emotions, from beginning to end and Author Karl William Fleet doesn’t let go, and doesn’t stop. No spoilers. But I warn you to set your mind set from page one, to end, to that of shielding at least a portion of your sensibilities. Author Karl William Fleet definitely proves out to be a great writer indeed, and has the reader flipping page after page in search of what happens next!! I highly recommend Corporate Truth, to those who wish to go on an emotional roller coaster ride. And to think there are actually “Justin Truth’s” out there in a real world, and who walk amongst us is very very scary. Grab this one and GO FOR IT!!

An unbelievable, utterly compelling story

Justin Truth is a driven, talented, creative psychopath who kills for thrills and for professional gain. I know I can't do justice in a review to this fascinating tale of the biggest villain in business I can imagine. The author seemed like nice normal person in his resume so it is hard to understand how he could write so convincingly of the terrible things his main character does and keep the reader glued to the page after page to see what he is going to do next. It is 4:37 am and I couldn't stop reading until I finished this book. But I am going to start the next book after I get some sleep. I want to finish this series and read everything else by this author.

Interesting twist in which the main character is a sociopath who gets away with killing and at the same time is able to perform as a high level corporate executive. This book will make you question whether someone you deal with could have the same dark side to them. If this would have been a stand alone book where Justin had been brought to justice at the end, I would have considered giving the book 4 starts. However, I personally have no desire to read a multi-book series with this main character.

4.5 stars - Justin Truth is despicable and there is nothing to like about him. What I like about this book is you know who the bad guy is, the question is how are they going to stop/capture him? Some of the language is very blunt (no swearing) but when put into context with Justin it is probably exactly how a sociopath thinks. Justin is all about himself and he'll do anything, including murder, to get what he wants. I had a hard time putting this book down and couldn't wait to find out what happens. I look forward to book 2 in the series. I think I may have found a new author!

Great debut from Karl William Fleet. Justin Truth is a prick you’ll love to hate. A book written head on with absolutely no compromise which makes it all the more appealing. I’m not the fastest reader of books, though I managed to knock this out in a matter of days. It moves at break neck speed, and keeps you engaged all the way through. Some killer characters set the ground work around an industry the author clearly knows well. Can’t wait to read the next two.

Lock the doors, pour a glass of wine, get some snacks and settle yourself in on the sofa - you're not going to want to put this book down.
The main character, Justin Truth is a man you'll love to hate. Expect to taken on a thrill ride by this author as he weaves a clever story around this blood thirsty character. I binge read this over 2 days and I can't wait to read the others in the series of The Truth Files.
A highly recommended read for lovers of this genre.

Wow! I couldn’t put this book down. The author cleverly weaves a nail biting story around the sociopathic world of his main character Justin Truth. Do you love him? Do you despise him? If you enjoy thrillers I highly recommend this book. The first of 3, I can’t wait to read the next two in the series.

Justin Truth, the psychopath you will love to hate and also feel slightly wrong about admiring how smart and ahead of the game he is!!!
Best piece of writing I have read in a long time, how the writer has got into the head of being someone this twisted and brought him to life is incredible. I am totally hooked bring on the next two books!!

I had to drop a few stars for the main character managing to stay ahead of the police etc simply by throwing money and drugs at the circumstance. More detail is needed as this leaves the plot superficial and weak.

The book was very good with the exception of the disgusting language that went into detail of what he was going to do to women. Totally unnecessary. There was no ending. When I read a book, I expect an ending. I do not read serial books. Thus, I will not be reading the others.

Twisted and dark

This book is a true page turner. A true psychological thriller. I have to read the next book immediately, due to the fact Karl William Fleet made it impossible not to. If you like sick and crazy I recommend you read this series.

I read six chapters. The main character is a despicable person. And three or four chapters after the author made that clear, he has given me no reason to want to read about the main character any further.

Ouch!

Good enough story if you like psychopaths. The writing is amateurish and cliche ridden, plagued by internal inconsistencies and bad editing

Yep... its hard to write a character that is so nasty that the reader just wants him to die off! But this author nails it. Its a great read - visceral, pacey and fun. With a really dark edge!
