I’m getting my guys back. But that’s just the start.
My bio father is a piece of shit—what else is new. I’ve got to catch him before he kills more students.
But he has secrets, it turns out. And a dire warning: someone is coming to kill me.
I don’t want to believe him. But then the worst of the worst happens, and the academy is attacked when our resources are depleted. I’ve got my friends, and Ezra, Sebastian, Mateo and Lynx, but it might not be enough to take her down.
There’s only one way to kill our attacker before she takes us down with us. But it’ll cost us everything.
Including, maybe, my guys...
Welcome to the first year at Phoenix Academy, a place where the paranormal lives—and dies—and lives again.
Lucy Auburn is an urban fantasy/paranormal romance writer who lives in the Southwest. She loves writing interesting stories about strong women. Some of the writers who inspire her include Patricia Briggs and Sarah J. Maas.
So as per the previous book the cliffhanger was resolved within the first few pages. I preferred this one to the other two since there was more demon action -although I do miss the ghostly versions -,secrets revealed and more action overall. Good news is no cliffhanger! There is a rather creepy excerpt from the next book though which ends abruptly.
The part I hate most in any series is where the heroes settle. The premature happy ending, the complacency when they accept their powers. A lot of foreshadowing going on and questions still to be answered. More demon time and this time its not as a group, still can’t pick a favourite though. The one thing that did bug me was Dani and her father, in this case she’s joined the category of too stupid to live. I’m looking forward to seeing where this one goes next.
4.4 stars. Still really liking the storyline and I’m still intrigued by the magic and all of that. The plotline is getting even more complicated and twisty, so that’s fun.
Relationship wise, well really, sex wise, this book sort of regressed to the where we were in the first book. Emotionally, they’re all more connected than ever. Physically, we didn’t get anything more than a tiny scene at the very very end of the book. Which is fine. I was just hoping for something more exciting.
And we still have not gotten even one little snippet of a second POV, let alone multi POV. So that’s a tiny bit disappointing, too.
Still. With the way that ending went down, I’m gonna be continuing so I can see what the fuck That was about.
This book was seriously a drag. I will finish the series but god this series started with so much potential but my hope of it ending the same is dwindling!
*Sigh* why doesn't this series take advantage of some pretty decent cliffhangers? The previous book solved it's cliffhanger in one chapter, and this one just didn't meet the expectations. It's just a mismatch of information. Meyer is powerful enough that over six shifters have difficulty beating him, but one black phoenix who barely understands her Grim powers can suddenly match someone who's basically a Master Grim, wait what? I'd have been way more impressed if Dani had actually forgotten and the book were based on her figuring out that Meyer's evil and trying to understand her weird connection to his demons that she doesn't remember. I think that could have been way more interesting. Meyer isn't even the main bad guy in this book, so the cliffhanger is solved a bit too quickly for me. As for the plot and this book's villain, I also wasn't impressed. It wasn't completely out of the blue, it's been mentioned that a clan of Grims were coming for both Meyer and the Black Phoenix. It's just the shift from villain Meyer to villain Grim Clan was too quick for me. I also wasn't impressed by the choice of character for the leader of the clan. My favourite part of this book was that Dani and her demons are basically in a proper relationship now. Any issues, like Dani dying or it being unnatural, are gone so they can finally admit their love for each other and be happy. Now, with the ending of this book. I didn't actually mind it. It was basically a happy ending with no cliffhanger. While I appreciated it, I know others may prefer a cliff hanger. If you're one of those, I'd recommend reading the excerpt of the fourth book that's at the end of the book. But I think that this is it for me, I'm slowly losing interest in the series so I think that this happily ever after was a nice ending for me.
Finally I finished this book after putting it on the back-burner for months! I remember picking this up right after the second book cliffhanger but it's resolved in this book so quickly that I kind of lost interest somewhere in between and kept reaching for other books.
The face off with the bad guy for this book towards the end had enough space to not feel like a cheap fight scene but the lull after the cliffhanger scene in the initial chapters till this face off needed some excitement. I liked the spend-time-with-guys scenes in theory but it wasn't backed up with the plot enough to hold my attention hence the long break from reading this book. The story despite giving some info for the world building elements still remained stingy and vague.
Dani as a character doesn't have any noticeable development but I'm not surprised about that. I was hoping to see more of the guys than the initial layers. The bad guy though is the most poorly characterised. Even Meyer gets enough screen time in the last book so we are somewhat acquainted with and then invested towards their fight scene but in this book there was level of detachment for the villain that ends up making the fighting underwhelming.
Thankfully this book doesn't end up abrupt on a nasty cliffhanger and has an excerpt from the fourth book instead. A better balance of creating hook for the next one without being annoying AF.
Here we are with book 3 in the Phoenix Academy series and let me say that this book was intense by far. If you have been waiting for action, steamy dates and the main character to realize that she is a leader in her on right. Then wait no more! This book just picks up where book 2 left off and Lucy Auburn does not let you down.
Dani finally realizes her potential but she knows that she has more. She is so strong willed and determine to forge her own path. She handles everything thrown at her in stride. If it was not for her four sexy demons, she may have lost her mind. She realizes they she needs them in her life to help her get through everything as she discovers her potential. Oh my does she discover some crazy stuff about her family and imprisons her Dad. Since she got her demons back everything changes and she can no longer keep secrets and she reveals them to the academy. Now her schedule just got more crazy, cause the teachers want to use her demons to help train the students. Which is for the best with what happens in this book. So if you want to know what happens, you need to read the book. The next book is going to be crazy and I cannot wait.

This is another excellent addition to this series. This novel picks up right where the last one ended so it it is smoothly connected. The plot and story line are amazing yet again. I love the characters and their interaction together. No spoilers from me but excellent and amazing and must read.

As well as Dani growing and maturing, so does the series. Dani has her demons back and they are wonderful. If only all demons were like them then Hell wouldn't have such a bad rep. I love that they are added to the school roster. I think Lynx is the most excited since he gets to use the library. But, Dani and the guys can't get too complacent because trouble just finds them. She really has to pull out her A-game. Her and Petra together are one heck of a team. Things may have calmed for the moment, but this is Dani we're talking about and there is more big bad in her not to distant future. This has been a great ride so far. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book reading as fast as I could to keep up with their drama. (I know they would have had the same drama but I wouldn't have known as fast.) Do NOT miss out on this book, it is fantabulous! I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Dani and her four companions along with the other academy residents have to save the academy from new threats. She will need to make sacrifices to stop the new enemy.
This is a wonderful paranormal academy adventure filled with great characters and great action scenes. The characters are jammed packed with personality that get you invested in the story. The storyline is filled with non stop action, danger, suspense, surprises and twists and turns that keep you engaged until the end. There is some heat in this reverse harem book. The steamy scenes fit well within the storyline. I enjoyed how much Dani grew during this book as she came to terms with her background and the obstacles she faces. The romance is wonderful, between the five of them. This is a great book, but I do recommend that you read the first two books first.

A great end to this story arc which was wrapped up well. Best book in the series so far. Enjoyed this book, the story and characters. There was a lot going on and you got to know the four demons a lot more and their character dynamics with Dani. Enjoyed reading about her classes, phoenix and shield training.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series with Dani and her mother. Her father is still around too so who knows if he will be involved as well.
I also wouldn’t mind reading a book with Petra and maybe a romance with a magician…. You keep on hearing about the magic school and how secretive they are so maybe an adventure/mission with Petra, a magician and Dani and her demons could be interesting....
Dani and her quartet of demons are in for the fight of their lives in this third book -- not that their lives are not in danger with every breath they take... A lot of secrets are revealed with many more still unexplained. A war is brewing that threatens the bond of these five and the lives of all those around them.
This is an action packed book with plenty of swoon worthy moments, family tensions, and tragedy.
Started the series from the start and each time I forget how funny and tragic these books can be. I fall in love with them all over again each and every time!

I really am loving these books. The only "complaint" or comment that I have is that I was surprised there wasn't more sex in this book than there was. It's just after the first 2 were the sexual tension was really high you would think there would be more of it when they finally got back together, not that it was a big deal there wasn't as much as I would have thought because there didn't really seem to be any right moments during this for it. I also still find it a little funny that anything that happens in this book wouldn't be shocking, especially when it involves Dani bio-family. Overall this was a really great addition to this series, which isn't slowing down with action in any way.
Forged is the 3rd Book in this series and you definitely need to read the first 2 books before this one. This is a exciting, action packed, drama filled story. You have the excitment and action but then you get the romance as welk. I am not going to give you a synopsis of the story you will just have to read it. I really enjoyed this book. I did feel that we got more questions but some things we found out also. If you like fast paced, action packed panraonmal reverse harem romance this book is for you.
I ❤️❤️❤️ this series it’s amazing and book 3 is no exception, it had been awhile since I read the other two so I started back at the beginning and I’m so glad I did. I loved Dani and her 4 sexy demons and this story starts off where book 2 finished so you do need to read the other two books but let me tell you that this series is amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book I need it now this series is so addictive. This is an amazing story/ series it’s a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This series just keeps getting better and better. This book is yet another excellent read. It is well written and the story and characters are well developed. I love watching the character dynamics and their individual personalities grow and develop throughout the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. There was suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and the previous books in the series!! I can’t wait for the next book!!

Dnf It saddens me to end this series like this, but I felt the storyline was getting a bit repetitive. I also was starting to find the main character kind of annoying. That being said I really did love the first two books in the series. I loved the twist it took on the normal phoenix myth and how strong the main character was. The guys were cool, I did not have the strongest attachment to them but they were not bad. All things considered I would recommend these books and might try to re-read them in the future.
Forged started off right where Unbound finished. In this third book Dani faces challenges and some unsuspected discoveries. I don't want to spoil anything so you will just have to read it to know what happens. I really liked this book and love the relationship and the bond that is growing between Dani and her demon quartet. Can't wait for Reborn to come out in october.

The reader is thrown into the middle of a conflict right from the start. No explanation, no direction... just bare facts. What better way to draw the reader deep into the story.
After holding the reader's deep attention from the beginning, Lucy Alburn successfully keeps the reader rapt attention to the very end. A remarkable story indeed.

OMG what a great third book! Carrying on from book 2’s cliffhanger this addition will have you once again sitting on the edge of your seat! There’s more twists and turns, there’s more action, there’s danger, it’s intense and fast paced and it’s steamy. The storyline continues to grow and develop as do the fantastic characters and their relationships! It’s a great series that I would definitely recommend!
I’m really enjoying this series, a sassy and snarky protagonist who after being alone for years just wants her own family, and how she find it through trial and error, not in her ‘blood’ relatives, instead the people she slowly lets into her heart. Then of course there’s the whole finding out you’re a Phoenix halfblood, and navigating an unfamiliar supernatural world, and a little sexiness thrown in too!
I think this is where I will stop with the series. It's not a bad book, even with all the misspellings and other things, it's still not bad. But it's boring. The world is narrow and small, there is no excitement. The quartet is plain, I like Mateo, but all of it just shows why exactly I am not into supernatural RH. The protagonist even though badass is irritating and quite frankly, stupid. I don't want to power through the series. So, I will stop here.
Wow! This was one crazy ride. This is hands down my favorite book of the series. It was fast paced and totally engaging. Dani deserves like a LOT of extra credit. She did more work then the Headmaster yet again. Also, can I just say that the sneak peek for the next book was killer!
This is a continuation of the previous two books. It was just as exciting and just as entertaining as the first two books. I really liked how the author put them right into the action. I especially enjoyed how her character was written. A great book to immerse yourself into but you must read the first two books to truly enjoy.
Another great installment in the series! "Forged" picks up where the second book left us and leads us on a crazy ride! Action-packed, intense, steamy, it grips you right from the start and doesn't let you of its clutches till the last word! Anxiously waiting for the next installment in the series!

Forged, book 3 of the Phoenix Academy series, picks up where Unbound ended (on a nail-biting cliffhanger!). I can't believe I'm writing this, but I think the pacing was even faster for this book--so much was happening, and twists and turns keep readers on their toes. This writer has a great imagination and is full of delightful surprises.
Loving this series... not your typical academy read!
Great take on a very crowded genre... Lucy Auburn does a terrific job with the characters and storyline. This is my first read with her and crushed the three books in the series thus far in as many days. Guess I have to wait for book 4! Heart her demon BFs too!
Phoenix Academy: Forged by Lucy Auburn is a wonderful story. This is book number three in this wonderful series that I have loved readign very much. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about magic and paranormal romances in their stories.

Seriously another cliffhanger noooooo! Personally I love the twist that this book has. I love the action pack this story has, there isn’t a dull moment in this book. How ver the only I wish is that there was more romance between Dani and her demons. But overall I truly enjoy this book.
Fantastic continuation of previous books. It keeps getting better every time. The cliffhanger from the previous book is answered quickly and this one does not end in one but with an excerpt of the next book. I personally never ressd those and just wait for the next book. Enough action in this book that makes it easy to read.
