My life has been severed into two distinct origins.
Before. 𝘈𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳.
You don’t need to know too much of my life before. It’s no longer relevant to my story.
The damage is mine. I’m a ghost. The shell of the girl from 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 striving to survive in the 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳.
Love. Life. Friendship.
I’ve pushed it all away in my fight to breathe another day.
Who am I?
No one.
Worse, I’ve lost sight of 𝘸𝘩𝘺 I continue to endure.
Until him.
Until he reminds me of the girl of before.

A blonde. A brunette. A tea lover. A coffee addict. Two people. One pen name. They're pals, besties if you will, maybe even soulmates. Consider them the ultimate in split personality, exactly the same, but completely different.

They love a good laugh, a strong, dominating alpha, but most importantly, know that friendships, the fierce ones, are the key to lifelong sanity and fulfillment.

Four surprising, impactful, tear jerking cries!

“It’s not the bruises on the body that hurt. It is the wounds of the heart and the scars of the mind”... Aisha Mirza’s words beautifully define not only the inner fight of this book’s heroin, it also tells how all the victims feel after fighting against this heart wrenching, unfair traumatic experience !

Zoe is a warrior, survivor, phoenix rises from ashes, after four years of her rape, she is still trying to learn how to breath, join the social life, connect with people!

She prefers invisibility till she meets Tripp who sees her through her invisible wounds! He accepts her, gives her time, acts patiently because he cares deeply, falls compassionately, does not hesitate to show his feelings.

Their love story was so poignant, unique, heartwarming! Tripp steals your heart, even after you didn’t see it coming twist, he still fights for his love and atones the sins of the others to win Zoe’s heart back. He is an amazing, sweet, lovable, caring, genuine hero, all the women’s dream type of hero!

Zoe finally climbs down from the walls she builded around herself and starts to learn living instead of only existing with mostly with the help of Tripp and her book club members!

Tripp is the only one hears her silent screams! Tripp sees her wounded looks hiding behind her smiles and feels her inner demons’ defeating because he knows how strong Zoe is.

Zoe learns to carry her scars proudly, does not let them blemish her body and soul, she starts to see them as trophy after her big battle for survival!

I loved the approach of the writer to this delicate, traumatic experience. Her story telling is emotional, sincere but not over exaggerating or dramatic , depressing which is so effective and easily steal your heart and soul.

Tripp’s words are one of the best part summarizes his love and devotion:
“Like a diamond none of us unbreakable. Doesn’t mean we’re not strong. To get our core, to the beautiful ,shining being who we are, we need to be cut and polished. The process can be violent but outcome is exquisite. Just like you!”
Definitely the result is exquisite. I loved this book and I love to read more from this author !

Six Star Read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Straight into Forever Favourites.

How do I review this book? I've tried three times now to write this review & keep deleting it. It's the kind of story that I know will stay with me forever. It feels very personal to me, and I'm going to guess that unfortunately it will for other women too. And that's okay - these stories need to be told. We hold no shame and the more it's talked about the more the stigma is removed.

It's a brutally honest recount of a woman who thinks she's no longer who she was and the man who sees her for exactly who she is. It's a raw and honest book. There were moments I cried so hard I had to get out of bed as I kept waking my husband. There were also moments I was so angry I cursed and raged at the very familiar injustices of the world. But then, there were my favourite moments. The moments between Zoe and Tripp. The swoonworthy moments that had me smiling so hard my face hurt. The moments Zoe allowed herself to see the warrior she truly was.

It's the kind of love story that will rip your heart from your chest, but also fill it with so much love and hope that it's worth it. Not just romantic love, but self love and also friendship. Everyone needs all three kinds of love to feel whole.

Tripp is without a doubt one of the best romance heroes I have ever read. His character development, his dialogue, his quiet strength - everything about him spoke to me. I can't finish this review without talking about how the authors make consent sexy. So many times in romance it's about the growly alpha not taking no for answer. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy those stories too. But what takes more talent and what I personally adore is the quiet alpha, the guy who's "man" enough to read a woman and the situation and adapt his seduction accordingly. Tripp had it in spades. He ticked all my boxes!

I finished it at 3.28am and didn't fall asleep until almost 5am as I was still thinking about it. The 2 hours sleep I will function on today were totally worth it to read this book in one session. I'm grateful the authors were brave enough to write it.

So stop what you're doing and read this book! It's my first from this writing duo and I am kicking my own ass for the fact that I haven't read their words before. It was extraordinary!

I received an arc of this book.

Four years after the horrific tragedy she experienced, Zoe starts again in a new city and tries (unsuccessfully) with the help of her psychologist, to make a social life for herself and reconnect with people. 🙏
She finds a job in a café and joins a reading club - but her life really changes after she meets Tripp. 🤍
Will he be the one to give her the strength to overcome her past? Will she be able to live again instead of just existing...? 😱

📚 “𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥.” 📚

It's a beautiful story about healing and overcoming the past - it has a lot of pain, but also a lot of love... and although this subject is not easy to read, it was not too dramatic or depressing. 🤍
I loved that the writing was believable about Zoe's distress: her distrust of everyone and the need to hide from the world... I loved her book club friends who were a great support system... I really loved Zoe's strength, even when she did not think she was strong - but you could see it in everything she did... but most of all, I LOVED Tripp's character - he's an AMAZING hero - patient, sensitive, compassionate and not afraid to show his feelings. 😍👑
However, the beginning was very slow, so it took me a while to connect to the story. Plus, it had too many internal dialogues that repeated themselves and made me skip a few paragraphs. 😬

📚 "𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐙𝐨𝐞. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞" 📚

If you like empowering men and strong women, you should meet Zoe and Tripp... If you like stories with depth, emotion and twists (even though I guessed it really fast) - I recommend this book. 🤍🤍🤍

Book: Impact
Author: Haley Jenner
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5 Stars!

Age: Zoe Lincoln - 31, Tripp Tanner - 36.

She’s so beautiful; light and dark, whole and broken. Zoe Lincoln is a fucking warrior, and her heart sings to mine in a way I can’t ignore.

Sometimes the best love stories come from the darkest parts of humanity, and IMPACT by Haley Jenner is certainly one of those stories. It's not a sweet story, but it is a love story. The kind of story that punches you in the heart. That makes you think. The kind of story that stays with you for days after finishing. I love it when a book enraptures me like this. When the book is so good I just can’t put it down. It left me feeling raw, vulnerable, and heartbroken. It also made me see that there is light after darkness. There are trigger subjects, and I won’t lie and say it’s an easy read, because it totally isn’t - but the story will grab hold of you and you won’t be able to stop until the end.

“I love you, Zoe Lincoln,” he declares softly, his tone anything but. “I love every facet of your warrior soul. Every reinforced wall of your heart.”

Haley Jenner has written one of the most phenomenal books I’ve ever read. She brings her A game when it comes to understanding the ins and outs of Zoe’s descent into a lonely and dark place - one that seems almost impossible to pull herself out of because of the emotional and physical damage that has been inflicted upon her. This book will definitely leave you raw and the writing is amazing. The moment you set your eyes on the first word on the first page, you cannot look away. Haley Jenner created a masterpiece that took first place on my list of emotional reads and I will never forget about this story. Although raised topic may be somewhat disturbing I think that everyone should read Impact.

I’ve learned that scars aren’t ugly, they are not blemishes on your body or soul. They’re fighting wounds. Trophies of what you’ve endured to get where you are, to become the person you were always destined to be.

Haley has created a cast of characters that you can't help but love and a story that is impossible to put down. Zoe. Sweet Dove. My heart broke, shattered into a tiny million little pieces for her. The degradation she suffers, the violence and humiliation left me breathless, but my God, she is so strong. Zoe is a survivor, a courageous woman who in the face of nothing always finds something to hold onto. The losses in her life are difficult and heartbreaking. She is realistic, inspirational, and coming into her own slowly. She is beautiful and flawed and I loved her every word, every insight. Tripp made it hard to find a fault. His words were beautiful, his actions were meaningful. He was magic and perfect for Zoe.

I see it and it shines so brightly… your quiet strength. I’ve said it before, dove. You’re the loudest thing I’ve ever seen, and I want to hear it all.

Overall, Impact is an exquisite story crafted with love. The characters are raw and real. The pain is raw and real. The love is rare, raw, and real. This book has constant triggers so beware of that, it is not easy to read, at all. But it was so amazing, it was a story that NEEDED to be told and it was told exceptionally.

FULL RTC IN THE MORNING

I saw this doing the rounds on facebook so since I was on Amazon anyways I oneclicked it and am jumping in before I'm stuck under arcs again. Here goes!!

New to me authors
Luv the cover

Reading this I never expected to go on the journey it took me on, straight away I was pulled into the story, a story that any female unawares can fall victim
to which is the honest, sad part of this story. A few times I got tears in my eyes.
Nothing was glossed over, it was right in your face with nowhere to hide.
This was done sensitively and does state that it could cause triggers for some, so be aware as you go into this that it may be very confronting.
There were so many elements to this story, the past, the present, her past self and trying to find herself in this new world, she was stronger than she gave herself credit for. Her struggles were heartbreaking to read, but it didn’t take long until a new found strength came through. It was utterly beautiful to see.

5+ stars

This book was amazing! I felt everything that Zoe was going through. Her pain, pleasure, anger, sadness, hope, and fear. There are so many emotions. I enjoyed all the characters. This wasn't an easy road for Zoe. What I loved was the struggle she had with her feelings. This is a story that will break your heart, tear at your soul, and at times leave you numb and breathless.
Be warned though this isn't for the faint hearted, but incredibly well written and will have you think about it for some time afterwards.

In short:
Hero 5/5 | Heroine 5/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 4/5 | Writing Style 5/5 | Steam 4/5 | Romance 5/5 | Angst-Suspense 3/5 | Darkness 4/5 | Humor 0/5 | Secondary Characters 5/5 | Drama-Conflict 5/5 | Mystery 0/5 | Twists 4/5 | Pacing Fast | Action 3/5

I am telling you right now if you have not read Haley Jenner yet, DO IT! IMPACT is a great place to start, especially if you like feeling e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. I'm not going to lie, this book will hurt. You will FEEL that life can have a fucking cruel sense of humor. This book may break you but, BUT...it's 100% worth the heartache. I swear, they could not have picked a better title because it is truly impactful. Hang on though, because after all the pain you will be left with an emotional hope for human perseverance and love—in all its crushing yet healing glory. I am actually left awed at the human spirit. I know it's a work of fiction, but the characters and the brilliantly written story make it fully relevant.

I am in love with Zoe and Tripp. Although she thinks of herself as a ghost just skirting by, Zoe and her strength shine so bright. And Tripp...oh man this guy...I want him to be real. I want to know this man. His heart and character are quite possibly the best I’ve ever read. Seriously. Remarkable characters, outstanding story, phenomenal writing. Brace yourselves for this one, but read it and come out with a real impact on your heart. 5 stars. More stars deserved.

Once again Haley Jenner has written a book with such an emotional punch that I’m left reeling!

Impact deals with how one fights daily to survive traumatic events. You see the highs and the deep down lows, and how it is possible for one to prevail…to become a true warrior. It is about a love so deep that even our darkest demons cannot shroud us in blackness forever.

Zoe and Tripp have stolen my heart. The sweet and witty banter between them is endearing and made me outwardly smile and blush. Their love is one that can only be described as soul-searingly beautiful.

What a deeply profound and pertinent book. I cannot express to you the extraordinarily beautiful way Haley Jenner has depicted such a relevant and heartbreaking issue. They did it with such realism and care that it stole my tears and truly took my breath away.

This duo has once again proved why they are an automatic 1-click for me.

Standing ovation for TEAM HJ!

Welp! This story ripped me apart and gently put me back together. It’s not for the faint of heart. It will put you on an emotional rollercoaster for sure. I felt for Zoe and just wanted to go into the story and hug her. And Tripp! I just love Tripp! Zoe is beautifully broken and finds herself again. I love emotional reads and this is one for sure!

Where to start???? I was not familiar with Haley Jenner's work before this book but because of this book I now have a new author to add to my list of favorites. "Impact" is absolutely amazing. It's been a long time since I've read a book the digs deep in into your soul and shakes your core and this book did just that. I consider myself tough because life has dealt me a lot of punches and the only conclusion I have as to why I'm still standing is that I took those punches and learned to hit back. This story will effect me as a reader and as a person going forward, I kid you not. This book is will you break down and build you back up. This is one of my favorite books at the moment and I can tell it will stay with me for a long time. Zoe Lincoln (aka Taylor Smith) and Tripp Tanner are the two main character in this emotional story . I will warn readers that this book does contain a storyline that might be a trigger for some but all I ask is that you give this book a chance and read the whole book. The ending is sooooo worth the tears. I honestly fell in love Zoe and Tripp almost immediately. How could you not. Their story is so ugly yet beautiful, everyone should be exposed to such raw emotions this book evokes. I recommend this book to absolutely everyone I know ( every adult of course). lol

Wow! Like I can't even with this book! Zoe was just written to perfection! Her feeling on her situation, the fears and insecurities... I felt them all! Then enters Tripp! Talk about swooney! All the 😍 for this man! His words had me melting into a puddle! His thoughts on magic and what creates it at so inspiring and really sweet! And his patience was something very admirable! Many times I thought he was to good to be true and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop... I'll let you read to find out if it did or not 😉. Zoe overcoming her past was inspiring to read!!! She is a heroine that I would totally want to be friends with. I would have loved to witness her journey. She's one of the strongest women I've read about in quite sometime. Absolutely 5 🌟! More if I could but this will have to do. 💙

Haley Jenner is a powerhouse duo that knows how to pack a punch. They write so seamlessly you forget that there is two of them.
Impact was no different. I've been counting down the days till I could get my hands on this book for what seems like forever and boy was it worth it.
This book is a must read and came at the perfect time for me. It's about horrific events and fighting daily battles within, you'll learn a lot from this book.

"You and I are living our world of firsts. It's exhilarating. It's freeing. It's fucking magic."

When I saw the cover and blurb for Impact, I knew I needed this book. I also knew I was going to fall hard for Haley Jenner. And boy, did I fall. I read this book in less than 24 hours. Now let me tell you, this doesn't happen to me often, especially in the last year or so. I'm going to be honest, the more I read, the fussier I become and I've been in a bit of a book funk. It sucks. So when I find a book I love, I need to scream about it. And I'm screaming about this book, so listen the eff up.

I don't have as much time to read as I used to, so if a book isn't holding my attention, it goes back on the shelf. Well let me tell you I could NOT put this book down. For me, THAT is what reading should be! I. was. CONSUMED. I messaged HJ repeatedly with my FEELS, and there were many, many feels! Oh my fucking god, I loved this story so much and am COMPLETELY head over heels in LOVE with Tripp!

This story killed me dead. In the best way. It's the kind of book you can't stop reading, but at the same time your heart is pounding and squeezing in your chest and you think to yourself, I just need a minute. Oh god, can I handle this? Yes, yes you can. And you will. And let me tell you I loved every. Single. Word. It's real, it's raw, it's emotional and it's beautifully told. It's a story I won't ever forget. Never, ever, ever.

Zoe. My god, did I love her. I was rooting for her Happily Ever After through the entire book. And Tripp. Oh my god, he's one of my fave book boyfriends EVER. FOR REAL. He is literally everything you want in a book boyfriend. Sexy, kind, possessive and sweet. Oh god, the things he would say and do had me swooning so freaking hard. My heart! My heart! The tender moments, the fun banter and most definitely the sexy moments *bites fist* between Zoe and Tripp were just perfect.

Impact is by far one of the best stories I've read this year. Hands down. If you're looking for an emotional romance that will give you every feel you can imagine, then you need this book in your life.

If you’ve read this authors other books, this is totally different and you are in for a psychological surprise. I don’t want to give too much away but I can’t implore you enough to pick up this book and read it. This is by far the best book I’ve read by this duo. This book will keep you riveted until the very end.

How we deal with the impact of trauma varies depending on our personalities and the severity of the trauma. Our opinions are often firmly ingrained so that we become blinded and don’t open ourselves to change. What happens when a stranger voices their opinions and they are so opposing to everything you have ever believed in that you begin to question things? It’s so insightful, just like a light switch. So will we face our demons or learn to live with them instead of fighting them off? If we spend our lives chasing magical dreams we may find they are nothing but an illusion.

I’ve tried to write this review for a couple days now...but I’m just speechless!!! So many emotions and soooo well written that it just sucks you in to the story!

Tripp is by far the most perfect hero ever and I so wish he was real. He’s sweet, funny, charismatic, sensitive, and smart all wrapped up in a sexy body. His thoughts on life, love, and magic are just....phenomenal.

Our girl Zoe has experienced more in life than she should have had to at a young age. But major props to the authors for giving her scars AND the tools to help her through those scars (like Rae—the most perfect best friend in the world for her!).

And we can’t forget about Brady. I wanted to hate him a little at times but he redeemed himself so hard. Won’t say why or how but it’s one of my absolute favorite parts of the book. I hope he gets his own story...because he deserves one!

There’s really not enough stars to give Impact. I absolutely loved reading it. It’ll definitely give you all the feels and then some! It’s become my favorite Haley Jenner book—I’ve already read it twice and I’ll probably reread it multiple times in the future!

Haley Jenner brought their A game as usual. I had no idea what I was about to jump into. Its a heavy subject to read about. But they took me on a journey with Zoe and Tripp that will stick with me for a long time to come. As always their words laid out with such thought. The story just flows from tragedy to beauty with ease. They paint such a vivid picture of the story, I feel as though I can picture it all in my mind. Like I’m watching a movie, if you will. There was no shortage of tragedy, drama, and beautiful love. Thank you again Ladies for giving readers such a gift.

As with any Haley Jenner book your heart will get broken but thankfully put back together and full of so many feelings. I laughed, I definitely cried, I had the butterflies in my stomach as you watched Zoe and Tripp’s attraction and love grow. Sexual tension between these two were off the charts. Grab a fan because your ovaries will explode with these two. My emotions - gah - if I could of reached through the book I would have probably suffocated her with hugs and been a sobbing mess. I loved Rae. Best Friend Ever! I freaking loved Tripp!!

Zoe had so many struggles and hid so much after her incident. Then she started stepping out of her comfort zone and met Tripp. He has the sweetest soul. They were ‘magic’ together. She was his ‘dove’ (butterflies in the stomach). Slow burn buildup. A great love story.

So ... Sexy Compassionate Hero ✅
Beautiful Warrior Heroine ✅
Loving Friends ✅
All. The. Feels !!! ✅
What are you waiting for... Read This Book

"Love is the one thing we should fear most in this world. It has the ability to destroy. People give their life for it. They obsess over it, they let it consume them."

This book..... Where do I even begin? Impact was a heartbreakingly beautiful, life changing, emotional journey that I'm not sure that I'll ever recover from. Zoe's journey was so moving, so powerful and haunting; your rooting for her, you cry for her / you cry with her. && Tripp was just so unique, authentic, patient and real. I honestly don't have the correct words to really do any justice to how absolutely wonderful this story was...my heart has been broken, stomped on & put back together (it might be a little bruised) but put back together in the absolute best possible way. Please read Impact; every single word of this book was simply life changing.

A powerful, gut-wrenching book that leaves the reader in awe of the emotions pouring through them! I have waited for this book to come out, excited to read Zoe’s story and delve into what I knew was going to be a book like no other, but I never thought that it would have me in tears, crying in heaping sobs or laughing out loud at the dialogue between the characters. It’s a book that is brutal, but also a book that shows true strength and how love from the right person can help rebuild even the worst damaged soul. I am in awe by the authors’ writing of this book and am left wanting more of their talent.

One question remains: Will Brady have his own story??

The fight for the pot of gold at the end is worth it every time.

This book, these writers, have broken my heart and healed it at the same time.

"This is the hardest thing for us humans to do. Be our perfectly flawed selves. But how can we expect someone else to love us when more often than not we despise ourselves?"

Haley Jenner created magic with their words, and I am in awe. This new to me author rocked my world, and Impact is definitely the first of many of their books I'll read and love.

5⭐
Writing: 5/5
Characters: 5/5 Tanner may be the perfect man.
Story: 5/5 a fresh premise
Steaminess: 3/5
Romance: 4/5 bc self-love was such a big theme
Tone: sobering, angsty, inspiring

There's life after severe trauma, but can there be love? Can a survivor reclaim their heart enough to give it to someone else? Haley Jenner is brave enough to ask. Impact gives voice to the fallen who hide in plain sight, and gives inspiration to us all. It's the story of finding romance among ruins. It is difficult, but necessary. Heart-wrenching and unforgettable. In short: Impact is beautiful.

Raw! That’s what I would remember if someone asked me about this book.

This book broke my heart and finally mend it. Just like the heroine Zoe.
I knew she was a rape survivor and this is her journey towards healing but I didn’t expect it to impact me this much. An apt title for the book.

Depth! Each characters, situations and dialogues of this book had it. I highlighted so many quotes it felt like the whole book was highlighted.

Writing was beautiful with meaningful words that resonated. I loved Zoe and Tripp individually but together they were magic. Secondary character were exceptional. I wasn’t expecting the twist and the subsequent angst was so good.

For some niggling reason I couldn’t give this full stars.

Overall an enjoyable and emotional read.

KU, safe and recommended.

I have never read anything from this author before... But I will be looking at her other books now. It was truly a well written story, I loved it.

Eu achei que tudo aconteceu tão rápido, foi um tanto quanto óbvio também.

How to you get your thoughts together enough to give this book the 20 Stars review it deserves?
One thing I will say is Haley Jenner has earned themselves another permanent reader.

I don’t know how to better explain this gut wrenching, beautifully chaotic, heartbreakingly mess of a story. I feel that these pages—these characters—will stay with you for a while, if not forever.
Everything about this book felt real; so bare and raw.
I felt stripped, I felt pain, I felt the agonizing torture our MC was enduring. How do you learn to live again when every barrier, every wall your mind has erected, refuses to come down? How do you learn to move past something dark and scarred into your soul, it’s talons embedded so deeply under your skin, just to have the ability to breathe again, LIVE AGAIN?

That is what this book is about.
It’s not an easy read.
There were certain points where I had to take a breather and calm my tears.
But, this story was everything. There are quotes that will forever stay with me.
Haley Jenner feel like poets who write stories. The way they were able to evoke such feelings from me, how real they made these characters, it made me feel that I was reading the life of a friend instead of fictional characters on a page.

Nothing I say will be enough praise for this book. But, I guarantee that this is a story I will recommend to every single person I know.

MY THOUGHTS⇢

When it comes to contemporary romance, I need something different...this fits that fairly well.  A love story about a woman dealing with the aftermath of rape.

Full Disclosure/TW:  The rape is told in flashbacks.  With most of the gory details there for you to read.  It was a scene that felt all too real, like something you could totally see happening.  The story itself takes place five years later and she is slowly trying to piece her life together.  She has a job in a coffee shop and there she meets a guy.  My main issue, and it wasn't a deal killer or anything like that, was with the believability of this guy.  He really was too good to be true.  So, that basically left me not feeling all the feels...right up until the ending.  The ending was fantastically done and I didn't predict any of it.  Not like that, anyway.
