David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a Welsh Protestant minister, preacher and medical doctor who was influential in the Reformed wing of the British evangelical movement in the 20th century. For almost 30 years, he was the minister of Westminster Chapel in London. Lloyd-Jones was strongly opposed to Liberal Christianity, which had become a part of many Christian denominations; he regarded it as aberrant. He disagreed with the broad church approach and encouraged evangelical Christians (particularly Anglicans) to leave their existing denominations. He believed that true Christian fellowship was possible only amongst those who shared common convictions regarding the nature of the faith.

David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was married to Bethan Lloyd-Jones

Solid MLJ. This volume focuses heavily on the wiles of the devil with many topical sermons (cults, heresies, worldliness for example).

My main critique of MLJ's preaching is that he uses superlatives too much. Not everything can be "the most important thing for Christians." But I don't take those statements literally, I take them as "this is really important."

And no, I cannot read Lloyd-Jones without hearing his voice; part of what makes reading him so enjoyable!

Outstanding as always. Sermons by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones on Ephesians ch. 6, the Christian warfare. When a couple of my aunts and families moved from the Rhondda Valley to London following the second world war, they settled at Westminster Chapel to sit under the ministry of 'the Doctor.' I remember as a little boy being taken on a Sunday to hear him preach.
There is a separate volume on the Christian armour. This volume of sermons focus entirely on the various schemes of the devil in his attack upon believers.
Invaluable teaching to comfort, encourage, and fortify our faith and strengthen our assurance of salvation.
Masterful.

I found this incredibly helpful. Probably a volume to return to as each chapter deals with a different aspect of the devil's wiles. Well worth reading.

One of the better volumes in Lloyd Jones’ Ephesians series. All the sermons in this volume explore the “Wiles of the devil.” This is a less creative version of Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters.

This book is liberating. I will treasure the truths Lloyd-Jones expounds on in his book, which is really a collection of his sermons based on the passage of Ephesians 6: 10-13. For the Christian to stand strong, and to understand how the devil is out to get him/her is very important. Lloyd-Jones can help you understand how to resist the wiles of the devil.

I was tremendously helped by reading this book - Also, in parallel listening to the sermon on this topic. It is complete treatment on all the different ways the devil can work.
