Starting a new job is the first step, single mother, Carrie Sullivan takes, on changing her life for the better, as she is faced with new experiences and difficult challenges. Reunited with her best friend Kat, Carrie finds working for the unstoppable, Diana Golding both daunting and exhilarating. As she is thrust into a whole new life experience, Carrie finds aspects of herself she had long believed had been lost long ago and gains strength from this knowledge.

During her very first assignment, she meets the charming Tom Garrison, but quickly has to face the choice of furthering her career or wanting a relationship with him. Her life is further complicated by a change meeting online with someone who overcomes all of Carrie’s defences and quickly makes themselves impossible to resist. Carrie is briefly torn between the two, as she soon realised although one is more accessible, it is the other she truly desires.

Carrie’s newly-found confidence and need to truly enjoy life for the first time in years, leads her to make a number of daring choices which take her across the world, despite the disapproval and concern of those nearest and dearest to her. Amongst the dissenting voices is her daughter,Lainie, who arrives home unexpectedly and has expectations of Carrie which she finds impossible to achieve as it could end something extraordinary before it has begun.

As Carrie tries to finally move on from her turbulent background, an echo from her past proves difficult to ignore, but ultimately, Carrie discovers,it could signpost the way to a happier future.

I was born in London and, from an early age, found every kind of book fascinating. I have travelled extensively, and I think this has fuelled my imagination, as I have been blessed with meeting so many interesting people and learned so much from them.

Despite appearances, I am an intensely private person and I believe, that's why I need to write, it allows me the freedom to explore emotions, without having to show too much of myself to the world.

For all that technology has to offer, I will always believe the best place to be is curled up somewhere and being lost in a really good book. I aspire to hopefully write one!

Carrie’s story continues

Another good read and I love how Carrie has grown over the series of books. She has so much more self awareness and although doubting at times, realises her self worth to a greater level.
A new job, and some surprising new people in her life …
Saucy, truthful and encouraging to read
