Logan “Rocket” Carrera has a history he prefers to leave buried under prickly layers of standoffish personality. He’s seen and done things that would make most people lie awake at night. A master of compartmentalization, he’s never had trouble moving on until the night he rescues the redheaded Chloe from a sadistic gang. Kidnapped, beaten, and abused by criminals, Chloe has a difficult time assimilating back into the world after the most traumatic experience of her life. With each passing day, her anxiety builds until she’s forced to find an outlet. Finally, Chloe discovers her own way to make sense of the world and steal a few moments of peace. There’s just one she can’t tell a soul what she’s doing. Who could ever understand the risk she’s taking? Unable to stay away from the fascinating woman who’s screwing with his head just by breathing, Rocket tails Chloe as often as he can. His curiosity over her actions borders on obsession. Before long, and despite the MC president’s orders to keep his distance, Rocket succumbs to the urge to approach her. Logan, the handsome man Chloe meets in a bar, gives her exactly what she needs. He’s accepting of her unusual requests in a way she hadn’t thought possible. The fantasy unravels, however, when she discovers who he really is, the outlaw biker who saw her at her very lowest moment. Will Chloe be able to accept Logan as the biker, Rocket, and allow him into her life enough to help her heal? The answer won’t matter if his violent past sucks him away before she has a chance to try.
I really want to like Rocket more. I really do. The first half was very very interesting. It got my attention. But then it fell flat. And Chloe becomes too much of a character. I think Miss Atlas trying to fit into a bill Chloe character from victim to survivor plus her kindness, forgiveness etc.
She becomes a jumble of a mess. Plus the drama. Oh my! The last half of this book does not hold my interest anymore.
Omg ! Omg ! Omg! This series just keeps getting better and better! Holy hotness! What a roller-coaster this read was as it was heart-wrenching, suspenseful, twisty, erotic, heartfelt, tragic and about healing and forgiveness and had a great cast of amazing characters who are fun and who love to tease each other as well get under each other skin but, in a loving and caring way. Can you say "always up in your Biz", that goes for the men as well as the women. The old ladies in this series are a hoot!. The old ladies also are loving and caring and amazingly strong women but, time and time again, one sticks out the most and that is Izzy, she just rocks! Izzy is a tell it like it is gal, fierce, loyal and a total bada** and "we just love her !" I have a feeling Chloe is going to give Izzy a run for her money when it comes to bada** old ladies.
Chloe was simply incredible and strong and brave, and it was tragic what happened to her but, she has risen above it and has found her own unique way of dealing with her pain. We saw this woman blossom throughout this entire story, and perhaps Logan may have gotten her on the right path to healing and helping her to put her past behind her. Chloe did all the hard work, then Jigsaw and Izzy set her on yet another path that helped her deal with her anxiety and she became more focused and started to dig deep down and dig in. We loved her and every attempt she made to challenge herself, "some who say it was another stepping stone to her recovery in the right direction. "Let's just say the gloves came on then came off!" lol
I loved Logan aka Rocket from the onset of the story. Logan was one bad boy who was scary, dark dangerous, sexy as sin, but, also caring and loving and compassionate as well as very protective of those he loved and let's not forget brutey. I loved his interactions with Chloe it was almost if he was another person with her and not anything like the Logan we have come to know and loved but, we loved seeing his compassionate and loving side all out in full force and let's just say we love how he got creative with Chloe in order to help her heal. Most of all, you got to love the guy for the sacrifices that man was making to his pride in order to do so. Let's just say we were laughing out loud time and time again but, patting him on his back for his cleverness.
This was also one totally hot, sexy read! Chloe was everything Logan/Rocket needed in his life and in his bed.I loved that Chloe was drawn more to Logan, even more, so after she leaned all his secrets and the thing he thought made him UN -love -able and unworthy is what she loved most about the hot and sexy man. Who would not want a hot, possessive and dangerous man in your corner after everything you went through? Chloe was no fool.....
Overall we loved this tale as it made you laugh and cry and was suspenseful and full of romance, and it never had a dull moment, and it was full of hot sexy scenes that kept you engrossed in the pages and turning them right from the very beginning, and we could not put the book down until it was finished. We loved all the twists and turns the story took as well. We also loved how much all the characters were featured in this current tale"We loved revisiting with them!". Maverick, he always makes us laugh, and he did that time and time again this time around. One thing we loved most about this tale is you felt the love they all have for one another throughout this entire story, and that always makes the story a lot of fun and touching as well!
This one is definitely a keeper ! A recommended read to all, as well as the entire series! One of our favorite MC authors, for sure !
Rocket was the fifth book in Lily Atlas’ Hell’s Handlers series.
Rocket was a patched member of the Hell’s Handlers and the Sergeant At Arms. He was the quiet protector of the group. We knew something was going on with him from previous books, but we didn’t know what until now.
Chloe was barely living. On the outside she seemed normal but she had her daily demons and she was struggling to hang on. We met her briefly in Maverick, book two, as the captured and rescued victim of sexual traffickers. She was rescued by Rocket but she didn’t see his face so she was unaware of his identity. However, Rocket never forgot her.
The storyline started off slow for me. Once Rocket and Chloe had regular interactions, it began to hold my interest and move quickly. I loved the progression that Rocket took Chloe through. Although she was unaware, he knew her ordeal so he slowly and deliberately brought her to each next level of living in society without fear.
I also loved the continued interactions, humor and bantering of the MC brothers and old ladies. They continued to be some of my favorite characters. As a bonus we were introduced to one of Chloe’s brothers. It would be the perfect set up for a spin off series, or even a Hell’s Handlers prospect once he got of the military.
All in all, it was quick and enjoyable so wherever Atlas chooses to lead next, I’ll eagerly follow.
This is a series I’ve loved and loved hard. Half of that is the over all Handlers SL where we are the rise and fall of the enemies of the MC. The other half is always the couples we get to meet along the way. The bigger storyline was as ever gold. But this time the couple was one I had troubles connecting with. It slowed my reading speed some. Still can’t wait to continue on with the series.
I read the previous books in this series a short while ago so I was prepared for Rocket. At the beginning of this one Chloe's situation is recapped. She was taken by Lefty and his guys but because the Hell's Handlers intervened and warmed Lefty to release her he and his guys instead beat and raped her. Chloe is then left beaten, brusied and naked in the motel room where Rocket finds her and takes her away.
Months later Rocket has been following Chloe because he's fascinated by her. We learn every Friday and Saturday Chloe picks up a different guy, carries him to a motel and has sex with him her way. Since Rocket has been following her he comes to the realization of what she's doing.
I didn't read any reviews before I started this book because I liked most of the previous books in this series and didn't really have any safety issues with them. This one however is Definitely not for me.
Oh soooo good!! This is Rocket and Chloe book. You might remember the name from when the MC made Lefty and his crew return her after they kidnapped her to sell. This is the same Chloe. Rocket is the one who went and got her and took her to the hospital. He was hidden under his helmet so she couldn't recognize him but boy was he pissed off. She was supposed to returned unharmed but instead she was beaten and raped. Rocket also has a past that he doesn't talk about. He was military in the past but that's not all. Just so you know, his past comes a calling and this time he has no choice but to do what they want. How does his past and what Lefty did to her have in common? Rocket!! Read and see what happens with them and how they handle his past... it's a really good book. Like always for adults only
Well Lilly Atlas has done it again with Rocket & Chloe’s story. This author has fast become one of my favourite MC writer with great storyline’s, OTT JP heroes and their incredibly strong women. So much so I’m onto the next one, pausing only to write this review to encourage others to read her books. I promise you won’t be disappointed, did I say they were hot as well? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
OMG! Each and every book in these series is awesome! I loved Logan and Chloe's story! It was emotional, sweet, steamy, violent and many many more. Chloe getting back to her feet and turning into a strong woman after what she has gone through, beating her demons
Rocket is book #5 in the Hell’s Handlers series. Rocket can be read as a stand-alone. There may be a trigger for some. Rocket is fueled with an emotional and traumatic beginning.
Hell’s Handler Logan “Rocket” Carrera is sent to rescue Chloe Lane from a sadistic gang. He finds her kidnapped, beaten, and abused. During his rescue he keeps his helmet on, shielding his identity, to give her the briefest moment of privacy while in route to the hospital. Rocket is unable to get Chloe off of his mind. His concern and curiosity morphs into an almost obsession with her. He finds himself unable to stay away…
Chloe Lane has been through the worst of the worst and has survived – sort of. Every day is a struggle as she faces anxiety, fear, depression and self-loathing. She finds an unconventional way to cope. Shamed and fearful of what others may think, she keeps her coping mechanism to herself.
Hiding the internal struggle was an exhausting practice that took a huge toll on her everyday.
There is so much to say about Rocket and Chloe’s story. It has so much emotion! I love the way Rocket and Chloe develop as a couple and face their biggest demons! Their story is layered as they build trust in one another. Rocket is amazing in the way he approaches Chloe. His understanding and treatment of her is so beautiful!
And she knew deep in her heart, he suffered over what she experienced.
We are treated to lots of cameos from our favorite Hell’s Handlers – Copper, Jigsaw, Maverick and their O’Ladies too! As I have said before, strong females are present throughout the Hell’s Handlers series. I love how the women support each other!
I have really enjoyed the Hell’s Handlers series so far! It is a bit contemporary but has a great combination of angst and romance with just the right amount of grit. Rocket did not disappoint!
If you are look for a sexy, hot MC series with strong men and even stronger women then Hell’s Handlers is for you!!! I am wondering whose story is next?
Where do I begin with this review....... The Hell's Handlers are some serious kick arse Bikers that love their women and love them fiercely. This is the fifth book in the series and i have to say that I was hoping and praying that Rocket got his own book because he had a story to tell and I was just dying to see what it was. And LORD HAVE MERCY what a story it is!
Rocket has a past that haunts him and he has done things that haunt him each and every day but the one thing that keeps haunting him is when he saved a woman from the hands of vicious sex traffickers. He thinks of her everyday and follows her in silence to see what she is up to and if she is okay.
Chloe was kidnapped by these vicious sex traffickers and she was hurt I mean hurt real bad and then when she thinks all is lost she is rescued by the Hell's Handlers and rides on the back of Rocket's bike but she does not see him because he keeps his face covered up all except his eyes. With what has happened to her she decides to live her life on the wild side and does some serious things that are detrimental to her but that is the way she copes.
Then one day she meets a mysterious man and she has drinks with him and wants more. Things happen and she does not realize the guy she is with is Rocket the guy who saved her. When she does find out she is furious and she tells him to go away but Rocket is determined to get Chloe and make her his.
This is a must read series and I would start with book one and read them all for an amazing read!
Wow this Hell's Handlers book really got me my emotions they were all over the place during Rocket , this would be one of the many stories that I have read by Lilly Atlas and I can't wait to read more by her . Even though Rocket is book five in the Hell's handlers series it can be read as a standalone but I'd recommend that you read Copper first . The couple were right for one another they just clicked even when the heroine was trying to push the hero away Rocket was strong enough to fight for her. Let me tell you about the sex scenes just WOW even the first time between them was intense they really shared a chemistry that was fire HOT . Can't wait to read more by the author she is a true genius I'm excited to see what's to come . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero= 10 heroine=10 secondary characters=10 Chemistry=10 steam=8 romance=7 humor=2 darkness level=3 action=3 mystery=3 enjoyment=10 angst=2 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing= 10 cover=10 Blurb =10 Stars =5 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone = yes but would recommend you read book 4 would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Rocket is one emotionally charged read. There are so many layers to Chloe and Rocket’s story. Earth shattering trauma, secrets, lies, healing, romance, and suspense. This book is nonstop when it comes to everything that it holds. Trust me when I say get ready to be hit right in the feels. I love how Lilly Atlas masterfully combines sweet sexiness with the darker gritty world of MC’s. Two things that seem like they’d never go together come together perfectly in her writing. Rocket is what everyone wants when they pick up an MC read. This biker bad boy is ruthless when it comes to almost everything except Chloe and his MC family. He’s rough around the edges, sexy as hell and loves with a ferocity that will blow you away. All his harshness seems to vanish when he’s with Chloe, helping her overcome one of the worst things someone could go through. I found myself riveted to every page of this book from the moment I started until I finally reached the end!
4.5 Stars for me. Another very good addition to this series and it's one of my favorite series. Rocket is such a hard man on the outside but he melted my heart with his patience with Chloe after her rape. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars is that Chloe had a few bouts of stupid but not bad enough to make me dislike the book. No cheating....
4.5 stars. This was so good. I love Rocket, with his stalking and letting Chloe do what she needed to heal. So sweet.
Rocket and Chloe are perfection for each other. I loved seeing them both finally working towards healing instead of just coping. It was sad, but ultimately really beautiful.
Good read. There is some stuff that just wasn’t too realistic, but it is fiction. Great story of healing and saving. Both characters end up saving each other.
Loved all the books previous in the series, but I had trouble warming to this one. I didn’t like how Chloe dealt with her rape trauma. I’m not against rape storylines if it’s done right, but this one wasn’t IMO. Didn't sit right with the club telling her not to tell anyone at all about her attack/rape and Chloe having to make up lies about what happened to her family and even telling her not to seek therapy!! So Chloe then uses men to dominate them in bed and starts using sex to get over her trauma, for me this didn’t sit well with who Chloe was as a person. After this she heads straight into a relationship with Rocket/they have some issues to sort through and stuff from his past and hey at the end of the book there is a HAE. Sorry not buying it.
I love this series & Rocket’s book was awesome! I will warn you that Chloe is violated at the beginning of the book, but The author wrote it in such a way that you knew but didn’t describe it in graphic detail. Chloe is strong but there of course are emotional issues that she finds a way to deal with in her own way. Rocket is the perfect alpha for Chloe. There is laughter, also a reference to The Lion King movie that is hilarious. You could read it as a stand-alone, but I would recommend the start of the series because of previous characters. Definitely recommend & of course waiting on the next book from Lily Atlas!
I loved Rocket and Chloe! I loved the way the author took what was done to Chloe and came up with a way for her to take back her power. Yes Chloe was struggling with her fear but she was trying to find her way out the other side.
Fantastic characters and story. Can't wait to read more!
I keep thinking this series can’t get better then Lily proves me wrong. Can’t wait to see what the future holds I know I’m in love with the Hell’s Handlers and LJ is up next.
I have said this with every one of the books in the series, but this just gets better and better. I am so impressed with how this author keeps every book of this MC series fresh, new, gritty and raw. I love it.
This book was hard to start!! But once I got my teeth into it, I really enjoyed it.. sometimes I forget that Lilly isn’t all sunshine and lillies.. (see what I did there?), and her books have a bit more darkness.. but it was so good!!
I set this book down when I finished it and the first words that came to my mind were WOW that was Awesome. The Hell Handlers are one of my favorite MC series. The guys are strong, alpha males who protect what’s theirs and “Handle” what needs to be Handled when it comes to the club, their women and things that need doing that the “system” can’t do because their hands are tied. They live by the MC’s rules and there is no grey area. The men are tough, rugged and honorable, the women are strong, loving and a force of their own.
Logan “Rocket” Carrera has a wicked past. He has done things that would make most people cringe and shudder. But he is trying to leave that life behind as a member of the Hell’s Handlers. However, Rocket is a protector. He protects the club and he protects what “right”, by whatever means possible.
Chloe is a single very independent woman. She has a good job, owns her own home and has a very warm outgoing personality. That is up until the night she is kidnapped, abused and left beaten and broken in a motel room. The Hell Handlers find out about the kidnapping and send Rocket to collect the woman. He rescues Chloe but can’t get her out of his mind.
Chloe is trying to deal with her traumatic experience the best way she knows how. Most days she doesn’t even leave the house. She works from home as much as possible and wanders out for only the basics. Except on the weekends. Little does she know Rocket is watching in the shadows. He is captivated by Chloe and is compelled to find out what she does on her weekends and determined to keep her safe. But what he finds is the last thing he expects and sets out to help her. But can he do so without Chloe finding out he’s the biker that saw her at the worst time of her life? The one that saved her yet intimidated her to keep the ordeal from the police?
The book takes off from here. I don’t do spoilers so I’ll stop here, but let tell you this is a MUST READ. It may have a slight trigger for some at the first, but the storyline is simply superb and the book is so well written that I personally don’t believe the events will be an issue. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for an Outstanding addition to the Hell’s Handlers Series. Grab this one up ASAP, you won’t be sorry you did.
An extremely highly charged read that had my emotions in a turmoil and gasping from start to finish, a terrific addition to the Hell’s Handlers MC series.
Logan “Rocket” Carrera is sent on a mission to rescue Chloe Lane, he finds her beaten and badly abused by a sadistic gang who had kidnapped her. During his rescue he keeps his identity shielded giving Chloe at least a small moment of pride and privacy as he takes her to the hospital for the care she needs. But job done, Rocket is unable erase Chloe from his mind....she almost becomes obsession and seeing her again is a must.
A very addictive read and I loved meeting up with some of my favourite characters again. Rocket was another loveable MC tough guy, a faithful brother, loyal to his prez and MC. Loved this read, it was very enjoyable. The writing was well done and very suspenseful, lots of tension. Looking forward to more from this series.
WARRNING if you have not read Copper, DO NOT read this review!
Ever since the night Rocket rescued Chloe from that motel room, he hasn’t been able to get her off is mind. He has taken to following her, for her safety of course, leading to him ignoring the club on occasion. When he discovers her partaking in risky behavior, he inserts himself into her life, again, just for her protection. Will he be able to save his position in the club and keep the trust he’s earned from her?
Another good story in the Hell’s Handlers MC series by Lilly Atlas. This book had more than one antagonist which kept it’s reader on the edge of their seat. Conclusions all made sense and I’m awaiting the next installment of Hell’s Handlers. 4 stars.
