Tansy Whitfield had a perfect life; she had a devoted husband who was a surgeon, and who loved her and their daughter, Tess. Then one morning, the rug was pulled out from under her feet... “Tansy, I know this isn’t easy for you, and it isn’t easy for us either, but you’re going to have to be the one to make the verdict.” I stared at Stephen as he spoke, but couldn’t hear what he was saying, or was it that I didn’t want to listen? “I don’t want to make this choice, Samuel should be the one making the decisions, not me.” I felt Stephen’s warm hand through my thin shirt. “There are other factors to consider, Tansy. Many people are desperately waiting for your decision. You know in your heart what Samuel would do.” I did know what he would do, and I listened for his reassuring words now. I heard nothing but the beeps from the machines which filled the small room. “Can I have a few moments alone before I let you know?” “Of course, Tansy. We’re all here for you, and whatever you decide to do, know that we’ll all support you.” I choked down another lump in my throat, “Thank you; I only hope Tess won’t hate me after this. Thank you for being here, Stephen, and thank the others as well.” He nodded, and I knew I was on my own until I heard the steady beating of his heart…
Robin is married but spent twenty-two years as a single mother of five before she married her current husband. She was a letter carrier for twenty-four years and is now retired from the postal service. She lives in the heat of Arizona where she loves to write her stories and the stories of others.
Robin Rance began writing after a reoccurring dream kept making an appearance. She wakes up regularly with other stories begging to be told. Robin generally writes contemporary romance but also has written other genres including inspirational romance, fantasy historical romance, and a WWII historical Mystery/Romance book as well. She finished her first children’s book about anti-bullying and recently released her second book about friendly monsters at play.
Robin currently has nineteen books that have been self-published and is working on releasing five more this year. She’s got a crazy imagination and a lot more stories to tell. I love this story of Seth and Tansy, it hits the reader directly in the heart. After a deep loss, Tansy decides she and her daughter need to move ahead and change their lives. Taking one last trip to a place that held many happy memories, Tansy meets Seth. The man is an enigma to Tansy as much as she is to him. They are attracted to one another but both are suffering from losses in their pasts that are difficult to move on from. Their interactions are hit and miss, sometimes they seem to be on the same page, other times, not even in the same book. Secrets are revealed, leading the couple down a twisted road that keeps the HEA at bay, but within reach and their drive to make it happen is heartwarming. I loved the characters, they seemed personable and like old friends as the book progressed. This book seems much more personal to the reader than others by this author I have read. It gives the reader a comfortable feeling while reading. I highly recommend Listen
When Tansy loses her beloved husband in a car accident, she feels like her heart will never be whole again. Fast forward several years, and she decides to honor his memory by taking a trip to a resort they visited every year for their anniversary. However, she’s unprepared for the level of healing this particular trip will provide her.
Another sweet romance with a lot of heart from Robin Rance, “Listen” will leave you with your own heart in your throat as you walk with Tansy through her loss and through each tentative step she takes in repairing her life. I really enjoyed this book, and am fast becoming a one-click fan of this author. Looking forward to much, much more!
Book Title: Listen Book Author: Robin Rance Rating: 5 stars
This is a very well written novel by Robin Ranice. It is also a very powerful romance story that has romance, sadness, memories, loss, and thoughts about life and death.
The book for the first half of the story is from Tansy’s point of view and later on changes to Boss man. In the last chapters, it goes back and forth. When it starts from Boss man, be ready to go down memory lane because some events reoccur because it is told from his perspective. We get to learn why he reacted to Tansy the way he did (which is very important).
Tansy and boss man felt very real to me and at times, I felt their tears and emotions.
This story is for those who had some loss and who are okay with reading sad stories that have happy endings.
This was an interesting book to read. We are pulled the story of Tansy's life, how she goes from a happy surgeon's wife to a single mom trying to raise her daughter and trying to move forward and possibly find love again. Tansy meets Seth, who also has not an an easy road and has things in his past that he struggles with. This story is the journey that Tansy and Seth decide to embark on and hope to reach a HEA. This journey is not easy for character but it makes for an amazing story to read and enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Looking for something sweet to read? Listen by Robin Rance may not give you a toothache but it will cause your heart to ache. Healing from tragedy is no easy process and the author makes it very clear how the inner scars are often the most difficult part. Sometimes they make it impossible. I'm not a big fan of this type of pov but the story made it well worth it.
This story moved me. The title says it all but the author is the one who made it believable. I liked the story. I liked the characters. I found the twists to be believable and yet heartbreaking. A truly beautiful story.
Wow, this is my first book by this author. I just got it last night and I could not put it down. I was turning pages as fast as I could. It had me on the edge of my seat all night. This book is amazing. The story line was amazing. The characters were amazing and it is so well written. Tansy lost the love of her life. He was everything to her and her daughter. They had the perfect life, which was taken away in less than a second. This is her journey and what a journey it was! Can she heal from so much loss? Can they find happiness once again? I loved the way it changed from Tansy's side of the story to Seth's side. This book is a story of love, loss, pain, happiness and what you can do if you want it bad enough!!!!!! A must read and I highly recommend this book!!!!!
Tansy Whitfield’s life is shattered when her husband Samuel is killed in a car crash. Years after his death, Tansy still feels Samuel’s loss, but is moving forward with her life. She takes a trip to an old inn that she and her husband used to frequent. During her trip, Tansy meets the new inn owner Seth. The two get off to a rocky start, but soon become close. But there’s a secret from Seth’s past that affects Tansy and he worries that she may not look at him the same way once she discovers the truth.
This is an emotional story about romance and second chances. Your heart goes out to Tansy as she deals with the grief over the death of her husband and adjusting to her new life. When Tansy goes to the inn you immediately sense the chemistry between her and Seth. Their relationship starts off a bit rocky with the two throwing playful jabs at each other. But before long romance is on the horizon, yet a secret that connects the two could alter their relationship.
The author does a great job of capturing Tansy and Seth’s emotions as they deal with the tragedies from their past along with learning to listen to their hearts. I liked how she switched back and forth between Tansy and Seth’s POV so you can understand their history and their emotions. I won’t reveal too much about Seth’s past, but it’s heartbreaking like Tansy’s.
The setting for the book was great; the author does a good job of depicting the landscape of the inn and the surrounding areas. It’s a place you’d want to escape too if you had the chance.
This is a beautiful story about love, loss, and second chances.
This story tugged at my heartstrings but it was beyond perfect. Tansy had a good marriage and a sweet teenage daughter but when tragedy strikes her life will change forever. Seth has his life planned out and was looking forward to fulfilling his dreams but he too had a life changing event that made him a bitter man. When he meets Tansy at his inn she sparked feelings he thought were dead but can they act on it? Read this book to find out
