Rate this book
The Federation is on the brink of war... with everyone.

Corinthe, the minister of security, has been granted emergency powers in response to an external military threat and has initiated a campaign to strengthen the Federation by annexing independent worlds along its borders.

The only problem is there is no such threat. The members of the Frontier resistance movement know it, the commander of the Federation's navy knows it and so does the crew of the Lady Hawk .

Meanwhile, independent worlds along the Frontier are being swallowed up under Corinthe's policy of aggressive expansion and things are about to reach a boiling point...

Fast-paced, smart and fun, Star Frontier is an exhilarating interstellar adventure you’ll want to read again and again!

Step into the stars with the three man crew of the Lady Hawk. While escorting larger ships through the galaxy, Austen, Drackson, and Carla the finds themselves plunged into the ongoing struggle between the overbearing Federation and the Resistance. As they become deeply involved in the battle, they find new allies and more danger.
The story intrigued but this book could benefit from a good editor. Awkward dialogue and missing words and phrases distracted from the action.

Well done excitement

This is and well-written story of future times but with current issues raising its head. The Defense Minister Corinthe is similar to some politicians today. Fortunately good people rise up to thwart the n'ere-do-wells. There is a little romance and friendship as well as sabotage thrown into the mix. A most enjoyable read--hard to put it down!!

True Adventure

A remarkable and exciting book. Great action sequences. By joining together the evil Federation is thwarted. It is fun to see the overcoming teamwork of the oppressed worlds.

Space Frontier is a standalone space opera story. There is violence, this is a story about a power hungry political official afterall. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Definitely worth reading if you like space opera.

I am an avid scifi reader but...

This one was hard to get into. And the Harskans? I don't recall there being any other description for exp. Drackson that he was a big guy, nothing else about what his race looks like.

Fighting in space

Quick read to pass some time. Alien language did not enhance plot.Author had interesting blend of main characters to carry action and keep readers interest.

Good book by a new author.

People often overlook books by new authors. There is a tendency to lean towards the big titles and authors that are already well known...and I think this is sometimes a mistake. "Star Frontier" is a science fiction book by a new author, and it is good.

Hamish Spears has created a book that could easily stand with other, more well known SF series'. It contains interesting characters and a plot that keeps your attention. On top of that there are descriptive scenes of ships, battles and interactions that show a talent sometimes not seen in bigger, overplayed works and the dialog is not over-the-top, but reads the way that people actually speak...a definite plus.

If you are a Star Wars fan, there is a good deal of material to draw you in, if you are a Star Trek reader, you'll find enough tech specs and information to keep you intrigued. On top of that, there is even a new language for the diligent geek to figure out.

All in all, I think this was well worth the read, and I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
