There’s a thin line between love and hate.

Kyra Kado hates Van Hernandez. Or at least she wishes she could. Ever since she kissed him and he rejected her as a “mistake”, things have been tense onboard their tour bus. Kyra takes out her aggression during her drumming performances as a member of Kason Cox’s band and tries not to think about how well Van guards her body between their shows.

Until she meets Ollie Dawes, who’s the perfect distraction. Funny, flirty, and cute AF, he takes her mind off Van. The Hot Rides salvage man is used to being alone on his solo part-finding missions, but she suspects he’d rather not be lonely anymore. She can relate. So she invites him to come see a show.

When Van discovers Kyra and Ollie performing an illicit encore together, he goes berserk. Distancing herself from Van might keep Kyra’s heart safe, but what about her body? A string of unsettling incidents make Kyra afraid one of her admirers has crossed the line from fan to fanatic.

With Ollie and Van teamed up to protect Kyra, she isn’t sure she’ll survive being torn between the two men she craves. She might have to sacrifice her friendships with them to stay sane, unless she can think of a way to keep them both in her life or in her bed.

This is a standalone book in the Hot Rides series and includes an HEA with no cheating. The series is part of the greater universe where both the Powertools and Hot Rods books are also set, so you can visit with many of your previous favorite characters and see what they’re up to now!

***4 ‘#TeamOllie’ Stars***

This book tried me.

I mean, in the end I loved it, but when you are only a couple chapters in and need to toss the Kindle into the freezer for a time out (the alternative was tossing against a wall) is strong, you know it’s gonna be a book that will end up trying your patience. BUT I had to remind myself that the author has rarely ever let me down, and the need to know more about Ollie was STRONG, so I kept at it. And though there were many more frustrating moments that did occur, the sweet, smexy and heart melting ones helped to balance it all out and made for a page turning read.

So, Van, Kyra and Ollie. It’s obvious that I am all about Ollie. He is something of an understated alpha male. He’s laid back, quick to smile. and doesn’t come off as the aggressive type, but lemme tell you, when he gets passionate about something the alpha comes out and when you mix that with his insecurities...simply put the man is lethal. Van is all kinds of protective (over protective) alpha AF male. It is his job, but it’s also just in his DNA, and at times that protective nature overrode all common sense. Kyra is sassy, sweet and while she is a woman who should not be messed with, she also uses it as away to hide her insecurities, which tends to mess with her head. I honestly like Kyra, but there were certain things she did, or didn’t do, that simply drove me batshitcrazy.

To say their journey to their HEA drove me batshitcrazy is somewhat reduntent considering how I felt about two of the three, though Ollie was not faultless ~ he definitely had his moments ~. But regardless of all the growling they elicited from me, when they were together, when they were just being and not allowing their own insecurities ~ or the conversations they were having with themselves in their heads ~ to rule them, I LOVED them together. They each brought something to the table that the others never realized they needed and helped to start putting the shattered pieces of their hearts back together again.

I gotta say, I was scared there for a minute that this would be that one book that wouldn’t work for me and I would have to admit defeat, but I pushed through and it definitely ended up being well worth the growling and eye rolling at some of the decisions made and reactions to those decisions these characters had. There is a bit of suspense in this and it did help to push things along, though I can honestly say I didn’t expect how it all came to a head. I loved catching up with the Hot Rides crew, as well as the Hot Rods and Powertools family, and after that little tease, I’m definitely looking forward to what the next book will bring!

Lawdy, I’ve been waiting for this slow-burn, crazy hot romance to finally be revealed between Kyra, Ollie and Van. And I was not disappointed.

The tension—sexual and otherwise—between Kyra and Van has been palpable through the first two books in this excellent Powertools: Hot Rides series, and I’ve been just waiting for things to finally simmer over!

Kyra is a take charge woman—she knows what she wants and she goes for it. She’s smart, sexy, and sassy—and all around awesome. Van is an amazing, strong, loyal, hot AF man who takes his role as bodyguard very seriously—too seriously sometimes Kyra would say. And Ollie. Oh man, Ollie’s just trying to find his way. Find a home. Find love. And he has. If only the three of them could get it together.

I loved how the romance developed between Kyra and Ollie, got frustrated at times with what developed between Kyra and Van. And then adored the love that bonded Kyra, Ollie and Van at last.

Another fantastic romance about loving who you love without fear. And I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 5 stars

This series just keeps getting better and better!

Hard Ride is book three in the Hot Rides series. As with book two, Slow Ride, you can probably read this as a standalone but I think you will definitely enjoy it more if you've read the previous two books first.

Wow, this book is hot! The blurb is great so take a look at it. At first I thought this was going to be an MFM ménage story but not so and boy am I glad I was wrong. Kyra and Van work together as part of singer Kason Cox's group; she's his drummer and Van is head of security. They are best friends but Kyra wants more. After they have a moment together, the next day Van acted like nothing had happened which upset Kyra and didn't do anything good for her self-esteem. She decides it's time to look elsewhere.

Ollie is a good guy and he works for the Hot Rides so Kyra has had the opportunity to get to know him and she begins to more than like him. Unfortunately, she can't seem to forget Van either. With all of the poly groups among the Hot Rides extended family Kyra begins to wonder if she could have something similar for herself.

Getting these three people together as a triad wasn't easy – Van was a bit slow to come around – but boy once they did was it hot as fire! There are some pretty tense moments with an over zealous fan of Kyra's and it tested Ollie's ability to overcome something from his past.

All in all, this was another great story from Jayne Rylon. The story for Kyra, Van and Ollie has a HFN but the last chapter sets up the next book which will be about two new characters introduced in Hard Ride, Dan and Walker. I think it's going to be a great one.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Romance with alot of emotions and years of bottled up feelings with a little suspense thrown in as well. Jayne Rylon knows her romance and complicated relationships. Hot Rides has been a great addition to the Powertools world and ooh that ending has me wanting to get to know Walker and Dane! If you haven't started reading her yet, I highly recommend starting with Kate's Crew and get to know everyone from the beginning, but all can be read as standalones.

Jayne Rylon’s ‘Hard Ride’ is another amazing addition to her latest series, this time the story revolving around Kyra, Van, and Ollie, all of whom we’ve glimpsed before, but never really had the chance to get to know better, and I am so extremely glad that the chance was finally provided!
Kyra is a drummer in a successful band, Van is the head of security for said successful band and also her best friend. Ollie is a recent acquaintance who immediately makes both of them feel at ease, which causes some tension due to the unfamiliarity of it all. Tension runs high, both due to drama and due to the longing each character has for the others, and it all comes to a head when Kyra realizes that her Number One Fan is perhaps a bit more intense than she originally realized, something that puts Van and surprisingly Ollie’s protective instincts into overdrive, something that she appreciates, fears, and loves, unless it is just about the job, and not about the people themselves. Will they be able to discuss frankly what is between them? Will their own lack of confidence and self-worth only get in the way? Will their love for each other not be as all-encompassing as they all hope and need it to be? You’ll just have to read this amazing story to find out!
I adored this story; getting a glimpse of them in the previous book made me super excited to find out more about what makes each of them tick, and whether when they come together it would be not only combustive, but also the emotional support that each of them is so hungry for. Kyra is incredibly strong, yet emotionally vulnerable in a way that was extremely relatable, and the difficulty in communication that Van and Ollie and Kyra sometimes had with each other, and the issues that arose from those disagreements made this such a realistic and down to earth story, even with their super spicy chemistry and utter devotion for one another, with honesty being key. I know you’ll fall in love with this trio just like I have, so, what are you waiting for?!

Hard Ride gets a reader heated in more ways than one.

Mix together a fine looking bodyguard(Van), a hottie parts finder(Ollie) and kicka** drummer(Kyra) and you get a wicked hot mess that heats up the pages, has the reader beyond invested and possibly over emotional to the point of screaming at their chosen reading device, kind of story. This triad knows how to get each other’s blood pumping.

Kyra, Van and Ollie are all very unique people with very different backgrounds. Each of them bring something different and compelling to their union. Each of them proves that what you see on the outside may not be what’s lurking on the inside. Ollie is so passionate it makes my heart melt. Kyra is so strong but yet has a vulnerable side that some may not see. Van tries to keep feeling separated from his job but when the missing piece falls into place there’s no denying.

Ms. Rylon keeps readers on their toes with Hard Ride! Emotional and sexy, but the waters are rough before Ollie, Van and Kyra find smooth sailing. The level of intimacy that the three come to share is beautiful. All in all, Hard Ride is a well balanced story with all the heat and heart, and just enough drama and angst to shake things up.

Hard Ride is the Third book in the Hot Rides series written by author Jayne Rylon. Each book in this series focuses on a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance.  Often you will encounter couples from the Powertools, Hot Rods, and/or Hot Rides world. If you are like me and enjoy knowing the backstories, I suggest reading all three series. I love them all and have reread them many times.

Hard Rides tells the story of Ollie Dawes, Kyra Kado, and Van Hernandez. Ollie currently lives in his van and travels to locate parts for the Hot Rides. Kyra is the drummer for Kason Cox’s band, and we were introduced to her, and Van Hernandez, the band’s bodyguard, in the second book, Slow Ride. Kyra and Van have feelings for each other, but Van is the one who consistently walks away. Kyra is so frustrated, she decides to take things into her own hands. When things fall apart again, she goes to Ollie for help.

Another fabulous story! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

Okay I must admit that Ms. Rylon had her work cut out for her with this one. I really did not like either Kyra or Van as this story began. I mean I liked them fine until I saw how they were treating Ollie. Both considered him a friend but boy did they treat him poorly. I understood they had issues but why did Ollie have to be the better person? But then I got to know Van and Kyra. They had issues. They had problems communicated. They had jagged edges. And Ollie, while not perfect, smoothed those edges. I loved seeing them find a way to fit. It wasn't in any regard what they expected but it worked. And I loved seeing it play out. This story took us on a journey. And boy did I enjoy it. I loved seeing Van and Kyra fight the cycle of hurt. I loved seeing Ollie realize that he was loved by more than just his hedgehog. I loved seeing sparks become flames. This story is well written and full of emotional growth. I loved seeing Ollie, Kyra and Van find their way....better yet find a way together. I thoroughly enjoyed this journey and am looking forward to where Ms. Rylon will take us next.

“The first taste was interesting, the second intoxicating, and after that, he couldn’t seem to get enough.”

Kyra Kado, drummer for Kason Cox, has been crushing hard for head of the band’s security Van Hernandez. Not one to take rejection well, Kyra devotes all her energy into her love of music…until she meets Ollie Dawes. Ollie has a way of calming her and making her feel loved in a way Van never even tried. But when Van starts realizing that he is losing Kyra, he opens his heart to new ideas of what really matters in life…and awakens a piece of his heart he never thought existed…

This story REALLY got my blood pressure up! You see, I’m 100% Team Ollie! Been a fan since the first page he was introduced in the Hot Rides series, and there were sections in this book that made me want to reach in and strangle Kyra and Van…Ollie didn’t deserve them! But I guess that’s a sign of a good story; it makes you FEEL for the characters, even when they don’t always get the HEA the reader hopes for them. I’ve been reading Jayne Rylon’s stories for years, and highly recommend! I’ve already pre-ordered the next in this series!

I knew from the beginning paragraphs that these three were in for a hard time. Everything, all those emotions, buried so deep. All the protection mechanisms, fortified and so natural, breaking through them wouldn’t be easy. All those worries, about not being enough, about being abandoned, yet again, because that is all life has taught you. But underneath all that, such huge hearts and the wish to be loved

Kyra, Van, and Ollie worked so well as a series of duos, but the ability to want to give more to the others, it made them work as a trio. A hot, steamy, heat seeking, trio. And it was enough, for a while, but they all wanted, and deserved, more, and the road to get there wasn’t easy, but they made it!

I loved the vulnerability in the strength from these three. I loved their ability to smile through their heartaches. I loved their ability to know the people they loved so well, even before they knew they loved them. I simply loved the three of them together!

Hard Ride is the third book in the series Powertools: Hot Rides. This story is about Kyra, Ollie, and Van.

Kyra is a drummer for Kason Cox’s band (Powertools Book 2), Ollie is a paid purveyor of parts for Hot Rides, and Van is a bodyguard for Kason’s band. Each of the characters has a lot in common, including baggage. They each have to learn to communicate with each other in order to build a future together.

I won’t spoil the Hard Ride these three likable characters take together, but I enjoyed every moment I spent reading their story!

I have not read the previously published Powertools and Hot Rods series, but as some of those characters were introduced in this story, I didn’t feel lost. We also get to visit with the characters from the previous books in this series.

The scenes between Kyra, Ollie, and Van were hot and emotional. This book has everything: love, romance, angst, laughter, pain, tears, and even a villain on the way to a HEA. I cannot wait for Book 4!!

What is a woman to do when she is attracted to two very different but equally as gorgeous men? How will she choose the best man for the job of loving her thoroughly? Does she need to choose?

Kyra is the drummer of a successful band and has a serious crush on Van, the head of security and her best friend. But both these spots are being challenged by Ollie a recent addition to the band's circle of friends.

'Hard Ride' is a story of love, choices and self-discovery. It's about the choices that are initially made to satisfy the person you love but in so doing is a realisation of what is needed to make oneself complete.

Of course, the road to love is never plain sailing and as one would expect some spanners are thrown in the works to make things just a bit more problematic!

There is no doubt that Jayne Rylon is the master of polyamorous love stories and 'Hard Ride' is a fitting addition to her catalogue of publications.

Soooo looking forward reading what she has in store for readers next.

This is Book 3 in the Hot Rides series. Before we go any further, let me say that this involves a ménage relationship so done say you didn’t know and then complain! Kyra and Van work together and they have become friends with Ollie who works with the Hot Rides group. Things happen that almost divides their friendship. They go through so much and the strength that it takes for them to get through everything is so beautiful. There’s plenty of things happening that will keep you interested from the start of the book to the end of it. And Number 1 fan keeps the blood stirred wondering what’s going to happen next. Ollie makes a comment that I absolutely loved, and it fits perfectly with this book.
“You can’t always keep bad things from happening to the people you love. That’s why loving someone takes courage!” This series just keeps getting better and better with each book! I love the Hot Rides group.

Hard Ride is the third book in the Hot Rides series. It can be read as a stand-alone book, but it does have characters from the first two books and prior series in it also.

We have met Kyra, the drummer in the band from book two, and Van who is head of security for the band. They had a push pull attraction. While they want each other, they are afraid what it will do to their friendship and the close work environment they will have to continue in. Because of that, they end up unintentionally hurting each other.

Ollie works with Hot Rides, a custom motorcycle shop. He salvages parts as he travels around in his camper van. He is attracted to Kyra and has a friendship with Van. Over time, their friendships do become a relationship. There are some trust issues, some dark past issues and a lot of understanding needed for their new triad to work. This is full of tender honesty and emotional connections as all three find their way to a happily ever after.

Hard Ride is the next installment in the Hot Rides series by Jayne Rylon and it is Kyra, Van & Ollie’s Story. There is so much tension surrounding these three people that it jumps off the pages. Kyra feels like she is being pulled in 2 different directions because she has feeling for both Van and Ollie but the more time she spends with the Hot Rides & Hot Rods crews she starts to wonder if she needs to choose between them. They all have issue in their past they need to overcome to be able to truly commit to a relationship and the fact that Kyra has an overzealous fan stalking her might just be the push they need or it might be the final straw to break them all. This is an amazing story to show how much honesty & support shared with those you love can help a person grow and overcome their past.

Hard ride...

I love getting a new story by Ms. Rylon because I know I'm going to be able to escape for a few hours. This story was a little different for me...."Hard Ride" started out as a hard read. It wasn't anything with the story but the fact that "reality" kept intruding into my "fiction" time. Once I was able to completely focus on Kyra, Van and Ollie, the pages just turned on their own! All three of these characters had walls around their hearts that made it seem like a relationship with someone was impossible let alone two people. Yet, it was having that third person that made the relationship work. Looking forward to the next book....hopefully reality will take the hint and stay away for a few hours when it comes out.

This is the third book in the series. I couldn't wait to dive into this one. I've loved Ollie in the previous books and I couldn't wait for him to get his book. There is a ton of heat and chemistry in this book. When Van, Ollie, and Kyra are together is off the charts hot. What I like about this book though it delivers on the heat and steam it also has substance. There is plenty of feels in this book. Ollie's past brought tears to my eyes. I loved watching Van and Ollie come together to give Kyra everything she deserves. Van and Ollie may just find out more about themselves along the way as well. There is also a suspenseful element that adds a another layer to this book. You get a lot of emotion and feels along with the heat which makes a great book in my opinion. I liked the set up for the next book. I also enjoyed catching up with previous characters to see them enjoying their HEAs.

I also get a sense of excitement when there is a new Rylon book out in the world. She writes menage like no one's business and Hard Ride was steamy and exciting. Kyra and Van have what you would call a volatile relationship. Kyra wants to hate and stay away from him, but he is tempting and distance is hard to find on a tour bus. Enter Ollie, the perfect distraction for Kyra. As he becomes something more than a way to get her mind off Van, Van discovers them together and explodes. Kyra is torn between the two men, but when someone seems to be stalking her, Van and Ollie need to come together to protect her and soon, all bets are off and the steamy threesome find they have more at state than they bargained for. This was a steamy, intense read with plenty of suspense and just the right amount of emotional drama.

I am so in love with this series of book. I have been flowing the crew since Power Tools and Hot Rods. And now we have the exciting Hot Tools. And in this book we are reading Ollie's story. I always loved Ollie and his personality and his lais back charm. Ollie has had his eye on Kyra for a while but he also knows she has a thing for Van, her body guard. But Van and Kyra are more off then on because of Van and his fears of a relationship when they are together all the time in a working relationship while Kyra is on tour with her band. Add a hot kiss from Ollie (seen by Van), and a obsessed fan and there is love and trouble brewing. Ollie seems to be the bridge between Kyra and Van and the three way relationship they try and figure out when they realize they all have feeling for each other. Wonderful book, with familiar characters making an appearance and of course a HEA.

Oh, I love Jayne's books! The anticipation is incredible.

Once again, Jayne doesn't let us down. Holy hot read! Kyra, Ollie and Van make an interesting trio, but the learning curve is steep.

Van seems to be the best at hurting their feelings by not being able to express himself as well as Ollie seems to. Kyra doesn't take her security as seriously as Van or Ollie and that leads to some serious trouble...but you'll get to that as you read along. Ollie has his own issue that may ultimately pull them apart. The interactions are incredible, lots of laughter and tears!

And... we get to see the other characters from the Rides books :) Such fun to watch the play between them all.

Love these books so much.

I have not had a book grab me and not want to let go until I turned the last page. There was so much emotion between Kyra, Ollie and Van, they all had some baggage, but really just wanted someone to love them.

I love that they all started out as friends, some wanted more, some yearned for more but what they really had to was work very hard and communicate with each other in order for it work between all of them.

When they finally get together between the sheets, it was smoking hot. They fed on each others likes and also on a bit of dominance, that scorching hot.

And it's so amazing to catch up with the other characters in the related series' that Jayne has created, that is one of my favorites parts.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

The three people of the Hot Rides crew least likely to wind up in a trio are Kyra, Ollie, and Van. Not because any of them are totally opposed to the idea but because I don't think it was on their radar. All of them have an unnatural view of themselves. All of them are loners in their own ways. Kyra develops a friend zone defense against letting herself be vulnerable. Van separates work from his feelings. And Ollie just has a way of being that makes everyone at ease while letting no one get close to him.
It seems when they do finally get together, things will become mind blowing! Trust is not easily given from any of them because of their pasts but they must throw themselves out there to go beyond into something fantastic. I loved how this developed so naturally. Van and Kyra have been dancing around each other for so long in the previous book (not that you need to read but it's fantastic too) but they were missing a vital piece, Ollie. He balances them out. The three of them together are a perfect mix of tender and rough. Things they all needed.

Another great addition to the Hot Rides series! Jayne Rylon has done it again, another great book!

A number of updates from past characters to see where they are at. As well as an introduction to a couple of new characters that have joined the Hot Rides crew. A brief glimpse of where thing may be going for those 2. Can’t wait!

Ollie, Kyra and Van all their of history and insecurities that they must work through in order for this new relationship to work for them. Throw in a lot of emotion, confusion, uncertainty and a little action/suspense, and it makes for the perfect weekend read!

I thought that this book skillfully balanced scorching heat and intense emotions. The road to a HEA is far from smooth sailing for this trio. Kyra, Van, and Ollie had amazing chemistry and were complex characters. I felt that each of these characters had their own baggage, vulnerablities and fears that caused them to have thick, high walls around their hearts and guarded personalities. Added into the heat and heart are enough drama and suspense to make sure you are kept on edge, entertained and in desperate need of a ice cold drink! This is my candid review that I am posting of my own chosing.

This book was so awesome! I loved Kyra, Van and Ollie. I didn't find that we got a lot of info about Van and Kyra's family but the story of Ollie's mom was so heartbreaking. I love how all the characters are damaged but it makes them how they are and able to be there for each other. I always love cameos from the Hot Rods and Hot Rods crew (even though it wasn't enough!). I love that each new couple is supported by the last. The ending was riveting! It had me on the edge of my seat and near tears even though I knew that things would (probably) work out for the best. Like always this book was a rollercoaster of emotions and just a wonderful read.

WOWZA that was one hot story and a ride from the start! Love little feisty Kyra when she is pissed. Love strong, silent Van and Ollie just melts my heart. I loved when he was talking with Mr. Pickles LOL. That scene with Van and Kyra on the tour bus was HOT. And then bring in scene in the tent. And when Ollie was telling Kyra about his threesomes! My heart was breaking when Ollie was talking about his mami (cue tears) But what I love most is that Jayne really gets your emotions involved in a book and creates a story that keeps you captivated and wanting to just keep reading and reading. And that Number One Fan...creepy.

Stubbornness

Kyra loves Van, but he can’t get pass the fact that they work together. Then they meet Ollie through the Hot Rides. One night after a concert Ollie and Kyra are outside and the end up having a heated kiss that Van walks into. Van practically tells the Hot Rides to get Ollie out of her. Which pisses Kyra off. Kyra wants both, because they balance each other out. Can they get Van to stop hiding behind they work together? May Kyra’s number one fan can help them out or not? Can they find a way to make it work or will out force keep them apart for ever? Come take a ride and find out.

Ms. Rylon has yet again given us a sexy, polygamous love story that once you start you won’t want to put down. Kyra, Van and Ollie are all strong, independent people with pasts that have caused each of them to be cautious for their own reasons. When lines are crossed the men need to figure out how badly they want Kyra as their own, and what they are willing to do to make sure they all live happily ever after. Of course life never lacks bumps along the way so be prepared for some suspense, emotional moments and without a doubt, seriously steamy scenes!

Absolutely LOVED this book! Jayne does such an amazing job developing her characters and I thoroughly enjoy any time spent in the Powertools/Hot Rods/Hot Rides universe. Ollie is so sweet, and Van is so gruff, and Myra has been kicked down one too many times, but surrounding themselves with their Hot Rides family gives them hope that there just might be a different future awaiting them than they originally thought. We get to see different sides of these three as their confidence and trust grows, and a little adventure helps give them that final shove in the right direction. The teaser as the very end will have you shouting "What? That's the end? I need to read it NOW!"

I super enjoyed Hard Ride. I love a good menage and Rylon does it right! It’s a stand-alone, but If you have read others by this author the other characters may make more sense. I need to go back and read some!! The heroine is a strong drummer w a super fan. Add in the buff bodyguard and then a male best friend and imagine all the steam! Loved his mobile home! There is some mm so if that isn’t your thing stay away. Overall a highly recommended read from an author that does poly relationships the right way!! I hope she keeps them coming!!
