Four guardians...
One mortal girl...
A forbidden bond...

Nia's long-awaited day is coming: her marriage to her betrothed, Celyn.

So when news of Celyn's death reach her, she is willing to do anything to bring him back, even venture to the forbidden Annwn, where the power to bring the dead back to life lies.

But the path is fraught with dangers. And guarding the way are the four princes of death: Cadfael, Gareth, Bran, and Rhys. Though that is soon about to change. As the irresistible beauty and resolve of the mortal girl penetrate their defences, the godly princes find themselves lending their aid to Nia.

As their journey continues, the princes realise that the mortal girl might hold more power over their lives than they over hers.

I read Soul Mates as part of YA Fantasy Romance Series Bundle by Mira Crest is a great package deal. This offering is a group of four different books are all the first book in their respective series. The books included are as follows: 1) Soul Mates: This is a reverse harem fantasy where four guardians end up as forever mates. 2) Mermaid’s Destiny: This is the Meragon series’ first book where a imprisoned mermaid and dragon must work together to save each other. 3) Fae’s Queen: This book is a modern retelling of a fairy tale that includes wishing and moving between this world and another alternate world. 4) Rebirth: A human girl learns that she is in danger from paranormal creatures that she didn’t even know were real. Each book in this set is an entertaining read. I can’t pick just one as my favorite because I loved all of them for different reasons. Reading this set is an excellent way to find a new favorite series. Soul Mates is a sexy sweet surprise.

A very different concept on the RH genre. Honestly when this book started I did not expect to really enjoy it. The first few pages are very boring, in fact I had thought that I had picked up the wrong book, but as the book continued the story and the pace picked up.

I look forward to reading the 2nd book in the series.

*Hey, prudish review over here!*

I should have looked more closely at the title... Not what I like reading about, not at all. I would have left this without finishing if I was capable of doing so.

Beware that there are some indecent scenes in this.

I’m not going to lie. I wanted to listen to this audiobook because the main character was called Nia – I have NEVER come across a book with my name in it out in the wild.

I’m a fan of reverse harem in general, so this book was right up my street. Seriously, what’s not to love? There’s far less angst than in standard romance novels because the heroine doesn’t have to choose which man she wants to keep, she can have them all.

This book is a slow burn, so there’s a lot of furtive glancing and general longing rather than intense sexytimes which I can say makes it much less of an awkward listening experience!

Nia (great name!) travels to the land of the dead to go and retrieve her betrothed, who had the bad luck to go and get himself killed in battle, but on her journey she ends up falling for the four fae princes of death who have sworn to help her finish her quest.
The story is enjoyable but I did find the pacing quite slow, it took quite a while for the characters to get much done and I’m more of a fan of medium-quick burn reverse harems, truth be told.

I enjoyed the narrator’s work overall as her tone, pacing and sound quality were brilliant, but I did find that about half the characters names were mispronounced (Rhys should be Reece / Cadfael should be Cad-vile / Celyn – Kellin) which did drive me to distraction. I imagine listeners who aren’t Welsh/from the UK wouldn’t know the difference, but it did make me wince. The important thing is that Nia was pronounces more or less correctly or I would have noped out entirely!

For readers looking for an intro to reverse harem, this book would be an excellent starting point.

Honestly, I was quickly trying to find something to audiobook in the car and this seemed fun.

I was disappointed. I like the idea of a YA with polyam in it, but this isn't that.

First off, the main character is so bland she could be in twilight. I still do not know what motivates her. "My fiancee died, I'm going to get them back" isn't really a personal characteristic. "I grew up with him" isn't really a good story for why she loves her fiancee.

And falling in love with every other man you meet, even if they're centuries-old semigods, isn't really great (whatever relationship setup you have). I also wouldn't start dating 4 brothers. I was a bit confused when this was prophecised by a magic salmon but ok whatever.

5 minutes later, the female main character runs into a centuries-old semigod masturbating loudly while screaming her name? and thinks that this is hot? Is that how allosexuals work because I DOUBT THAT.

Anyway, that is where I stopped. I'm about halfway in. I'm still not invested in this story (but I have to do something while I drive). I'm sufficiently disappointed that I stopped reading.

I really enjoyed this story and the romance behind it, but I felt a little disappointed that there wasnt more of it... in my opinion at least it would have really benefited from taking the time to really flesh out each of the four brothers rather than the withering romance between Nia and Ceyln. Maybe it's because I never got to know about him as a person while he was alive, but I had no particular interest in Nia finding him. The brothers were all brilliant in there own ways, and I really enjoyed it none the less.

Soulmates
By Mira Crest

When Nia's betrothed doesn't return from war she makes a promise to herself to go to the land of the dead to bring him back. That is what I expected the storyline to continue following throughout the book. However it isn't what happens. It takes a different turn.

Despite the fact it was truly disappointing she didn't accomplish that it was still a good book and well written.

Nia was on a journey to save her betrothed from the land of the dead. She met the princes Rhys, Gareth, Cadfael and Bran at the entrance. They helped her on her journey but instead of what she was after, she gained the love of the four princes for her HEA. Good story

Great read!

Amazing start for a series. Well written and great characters. Nia has a long journey to get her dead betrothed back from the land of the dead. She meets four princes that will help her. On the way she starts to have feelings for them. Will she get what she was after? This a wonderful adventure and romance read.

Rebirth

Nia loses her fiance to the war. She wishes to bring him back and travels to the Druids to find a way. They foretell her fortune that leads her on a journey across the ocean. She meets four brothers that help her on her journey. She must pass four trials to have her wish granted. No spoilers. The journey is an adventure that must be lived to appreciate it.

I found this book quite interesting and at the end you finally see the reverse Harem situation. I really enjoyed the main character she is a strong-willed young woman, but now she has got to decide whether loyalty is good, or if following your heart is more important. Is it foolishness to follow loyalty for loyalty alone??

I did not realize this was reverse harem fantasy before reading it. Definitely not my cup of tea! I have read some of Mira Crest's other books and they were clean romances. I even suggested that my daughter would enjoy her books. This story was not what I expected and had some indecent scenes. I also found the relationships to be completely unrealistic as well as having no foundations.

Interesting

So the story is interesting and complete. And mostly clean. There is a sex scene I could have lived without at the end but it is mild and one. I loved the characters and how unique they were too.

I totally enjoyed this book. The characters were well described and the world they were in well developed. The heroine was wishing to return her betrothed from the arms of Death, but her adventures along the way changed her mind. Highly recommend.
