When Kirishima Eijirou's band hits the big time, he's not prepared for his newfound fame. He's even less prepared to meet the actor he's been crushing on for years, or to start dating him as a publicity stunt. The closer Kirishima gets to Bakugou Katsuki, the more he realizes he's in over his head. But it's hard to stop, once his heart is in it.

Okay, I know some people are going to hardcore judge me for reading fanfiction, but I don't even care. I just have to say that the characters I've encountered here feel more real to me than some people in my life and I am in awe of that.

Edit: 3rd or 4th read at this point. - I’m not an emotional reader, but this fanfic hits me harder and harder each time I read it. Literally crying from chapter 22 forward - for people who haven’t read it, that 6 chapters worth of tears ranging from sad to happy. This fic will probably always be a comfort read for me, and a great relief if I’m in need of shedding some tears

Yes, I know this is a fanfiction, but it deserves to be recognized - and it's literally is over 130,000 word count. I've never reviewed a fanfiction before, but this is the best one I've ever read. I've read it multiple times and I'm so impressed with newamstredam as an author. She took characters that are already established and put them in a totally different world, but they still feel true to who they are with canon personalities. I love how they were able to do this. Not only that, but the emotions that I feel whenever I read this fic - even though I know what's going to happen... I love the constant homage to the characters and terms used in the manga series. I love that at the end of each chapter there is a song that would describe the tone of the chapter. I just literally love everything about this and it potentially is one of the best things I've ever read, not just fanfics.

Although I've read fanfics before, this is only the second one I've read for a tv series I actually follow. This is the first of those where the author takes the characters from a series but creates a different world. At first I was really upset that the author turned UA into a TV show, and it's characters into actors and other people from a separate world. I enjoy the world of "My Hero Academia" and I was sad to see it presented as a fiction within this fiction.

But I got over that after the first three chapters and began focusing on the story and the world presented in this fic. It was a well written romance. Of course, the characters had already been fleshed out in the Manga/Anime personality-wise, but I thought the author did a good job of extending those personalities to her world and providing some backstory that makes those personalities still play well in this new world.

This book is a romance with no sexual/erotic/lustful elements. I don't know if the author intended it this way, but it could be read as an ACE relationship. The focus is on the relationship and the connection between Kirishima and Bakugo with no allusion to any sort of sexual relationship (not even a single mention of lust or anyone getting aroused) though the characters do frequently sleep in the same bed. As stated, the main focus is the romance, however there is a strong theme about loving yourself (in particular with Kirishima) and understanding those around you (in particular with Bakugo).

As long as you are OK with a story that takes characters from a world you love (My Hero Academia) and has them play out a different life in another world (this world), I'd recommend the book. It's a solid story, a bit on the fluffy romance side, with an HEA ... and only a few typos.

I love how the author adapted the characters into an alternate universe, especially the relationships between characters and their mannerisms. Definitely a step-up from other fanfiction I've read. When I read this, it was like my life revolved around getting to the next chapter, seeing what happened next. Definitely a great read for those who like/are willing to like the ship.

I also annotated it this time around. I love this fic sm. So funny. I adore it. It owns my heart. And the playlist slaps so hard. I somehow unconsciously added songs to the playlist, which is wild, but still. Excited for this to maybe be my longest book read this year, cause it was 2nd last year.

2nd reread of the year - it hits just as hard… i love this fic terribly
