This author has done it again! Wow, book #2 in the senses novels was just as intense and exciting. Laya was such a perfect addition to this story. I seriously can’t recommend this series enough. So intense and action packed. There is never a dry moment. This author knows how to grab a readers attention and keep them reading! This is definitely my new favorite series. Readers, definitely grab a copy of this book! This is a series you don’t want to miss!

Another compelling dystopian story from the talented K M Aul. This time we follow Laya, a girl who was born deaf but who possesses a mysterious power: whenever she sings her “Song,” she becomes basically an ultimate weapon ready to neutralize any threat directed against herself or her loved ones. Her life in pre-apocalyptic America was one of a regular teenager, dealing with regular teenage problems, finding friends and discovering an interest in the opposite sex. Only, the whole time she knew that she was being watched by a mysterious government organization, who couldn’t wait to get their hands on this wonder-girl to use her unrestrained power for their own purposes. Or, maybe they didn’t belong to the government after all?..
I really enjoyed the voice of the protagonist, who, despite her disability, grew up to be a strong, independent young woman, ready to stand up for herself and her loved ones. Also, the analogies between the new governmental facilities and rules, imposed on citizens and the former order in Nazi Germany were masterfully drawn out. The plot is fast paced and the characters are all extremely well-developed and make you root for them from page one. I’ll be definitely looking forward to the next one in this series!
