This is a fun book and is exactly what the title says. The book is a collection of fun facts and trivia from throughout the Church's history. The facts are not given in chronological order, nor do they appear to be organized in any order whatsoever. But this didn't bother me at all. If anything, it made the book more enjoyable to read. There are no chapters, which makes the book easy reading. You can read a couple of facts at a time, or read several pages in one sitting. It is easy to stop and pick up wherever you left off.

Some of the facts in the book are informational, others are simply humorous. You learn fun facts about such people as Porter Rockwell and J. Golden Kimball, but many more interesting facts about people that most members of the Church have never heard of.

As I have been reading the book, I have been sharing fun facts with people around me. This book should have a broad appeal to a lot of members of the Church.

I have mixed feelings about this book. There were some fun and interesting facts, but there were also some that didn't make a lot of sense or were just kind of boring. There were also some that were mentioned multiple times, which makes the title of the book incorrect, because there were not 501 different facts.

I think this is a book that I would turn to if I wanted a random factoid, but reading it cover to cover is not something I see happening.
