Gallows Forest: A Horror Novella

Rate this book
In the year 82AD, the mighty Roman 9th Legion took part in the invasion of Caledonia, now modern day Scotland. In the coming months, over five thousand hardened veterans of the Roman Army vanished without a trace. The order was then given to erect a seventy three mile long barrier across northern Britain, the famous Hadrian's Wall. How was it that the might of the Roman Empire was stopped in it's tracks? What was it that terrified the greatest empire the world has ever known. Now, three University friends venture into the ancient Gallows Forest on a camping trip. But all they will find in the deep, dark forests of Scotland is terror, madness and death. Answers to long buried historical mysteries will also be unearthed. But when the truth to such mysteries causes threads of sanity to unravel, the trio will discover that some things are better left entombed.
